Reviews for Victoria Hotel
Review 1:The room was cold, even with heating cranked up, as it was a cold night. Fittings and windows, etc. as you'd expect from an old pub. No evening meals offered.
Review 2:Staff were just lovely - a proper local pub with a local welcome. The price was very reasonable.
Review 3:When booking I thought I was booking a double room but when we arrived there were two separate beds. The pub was very quiet for a weekend no entertainment so we stayed in our room. Also the kettle in our room wasn't working which i didn't discover till early morning.
Review 4:Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the place was clean.
Review 5:Line of dust all the way around the edge of the room. Need to vacuum around edges. Noisy pipes woke us up in the morning.
Review 6:Everything apart from the dust
Review 7:The staff had no idea what exactly we had booked. Apparently booking.com do not let them know, which is going to always be a problem unless it is rectified.
Review 8:The room, the bar, the breakfast all were good. Also the D J on the Friday evening was excellent.
Review 9:the hotel was not like the pictures. There was an empty packet of rolling skins on the floor beside the bin. The mini bottle of shampoo had been used already. There was carpet in the toilet very unhygienic. There was a big damp spot on the wall. There was no heating in the room. There was a plate on the toilet cistern that read nothing except toilet roll to be flushed down the toilet I thought that that was a given. What kind of guests come here if it is necessary to point out that no syringes be flushed down the toilet.
Review 10:The staff were friendly
Review 11:The room was described as luxury but it was inadequately furnished, dated and in need of a fresh coat of paint.
Review 12:Breakfast was great but was charged as an extra
Review 13:Breakfast good value at £5 but could of been asked what we wanted on it to save food wastage
Review 14:Friendly staff and locals positioning of hotel to where we wanted to go.
Review 15:Staff and owners lovely, very personal, extremely nice and helpful!! When we arrived they helped us carry our luggages up the stairs, helped us to plan our further journey by looking up information on the internet etc. In the evening we sat at the hotel bar and there was live music. The atmosphere at this hotel was cosy and familiar. The breakfast was very good (English breakfast). We had a free parking space behind the hotel for our car.
Review 16:Third floor rooms and no lift so not for the frail.
Review 17:Perfect location for visiting our relatives.. 3rd visit. Clean and neat rooms. Friendly and attentive proprietors. The fried breakfast is not to be beaten and definitely not for the faint hearted. Ask for a half portion :)
Review 18:Were not told at booking there was 4 flights of stairs. We had 85 year old lady who could not manage the stairs so we booked straight out and found somewhere more suitable.
Review 19:it was you booking.com that was the bad experience you sent hotel victoria the wrong dates and lesley and steve sorted me out no thanks to you.
Review 20:The owners Lesley and Steve were very accomodating, very friendly and very hospitable
Review 21:Hotel has charm and character and so do the owners. Breakfast was divine, bed very comfortable, shower strong and hot. Beautiful area for walking, but bus at the door too! Just a really lovely place to stay.
Review 22:too many stairs cups were too small kettle didnt have a long enough flex had to stand it on the floor
Review 23:the people were very friendly the atmosphere was excellent breakfast was perfect the room was smart and cosy
Review 24:When we arrived there was a mix up with the rooms but they were happy to start it out for us. There was live music on all night in the pub and a great friendly atmosphere. The room was clean with all the facilities you'd expect from a large chain of hotels.
Review 25:No complaints about this Queen Vic!
Review 26:Typical Yorkshire welcome from the hosts, nice room on top floor comfy bed, decent sized en suite too. Good atmosphere in the bar good local crack, enjoyed our short stay would come again no problem. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment but sure it would have been good too, Lesley goes the extra mile to make sure the guests are looked after properly, thanks.
Review 27:Smelly fabric conditioner on bedding and towels.
Review 28:Friendly staff and excellent full English breakfast. Quiet location with good access to "Brontë country". (We were visiting family in a nearby town, but did a bit of tourism as well.)
Review 29:The hosts were an amazing couple, as were the locals in the bar... If you need a room to stay for one night or several nights, I would definitely recommend staying here...
Review 30:Just be warned the rooms are at the top of the house. So you will need to be able to climb stairs!
Review 31:Wonderful welcome, really comfortable and clean room, and a breakfast to die for. Everything you could wish for all for £40 a night. The pub downstairs is great too with a selection of real ales on hand pull. Between Bradford and Haworth this is the perfect place to base yourself. They even have free parking! Marvelous!
