Reviews for Stamford Farmhouse
Review 1:Nothing, everything was very good.
Review 2:Friendly owners who did everything to make our stay brilliant. Lovely, peaceful location, big comfortable bed. Dog also had a great time.
Review 3:The place was a little tricky to find with our GPS. We needed sign out the front as we thought it was the place a way up the road (neighbour's). Would be great if you could pay via PayPal or credit card.
Review 4:Karen and Simon were perfect hosts. They even managed to cater for our daughter who has food allergies. Their BnB is picture perfect and peaceful.
Review 5:Poor Wi-Fi and the opening onto the drive is very tight. Coming out of the drive onto the road is tricky as its on a blind bend.
Review 6:Extremely friendly warm and knowledgeable proprietors. Spotlessly clean and good food
Review 7:Nothing was wrong with the visit other than the weather on the day.
Review 8:Great people , well run by Simon and wife and thoroughly relaxing all round. Would go back for weekend.
Review 9:Cooked breakfast portion was perhaps slightly on the small side but there was toast and cereal as well.
Review 10:Quiet setting, warm welcome and very comfortable room. Breakfast was well cooked and there was a good choice.
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:The location was rural; peaceful and quiet. Simon & Karen couldn't have been more accommodating. Lovely to see the free range hens around the garden.
Review 13:Duvet a little heavy for us so we were overly warm in bed but I have to admit we did not say during our stay. No house sign, so we were unsure whether we were in the right place but the owners advised us there is a house sign on order.
Review 14:The helpfulness of the owners providing information about things to do in the area. Lovely breakfast
Review 15:We liked the friendliness of the hosts, nothing was too much trouble, lovely quiet location, comfortable beds and very warm considering it is a lovely old property.
Review 16:This was our second stay, but I'm sure we'll be back. A lovely quiet location, but not far from the wonderful Northumbrian coast, and Alnwick. The rooms are large and comfortable, food is excellent and Simon and Karen are perfect hosts - it feels more like visiting friends.
Review 17:would be nice to have an extra light in the bedroom
Review 18:very friendly and helpful people - charming rustic quiet farmhouse, lots of space - recommended great place for dinner nearby
Review 19:best I can do - no toilet roll holder!
Review 20:Very warm Welcome, great room, very comfy bed, spacious, light and airy, lovely bathroom, Breakfast - perfect. will definitely return.
Review 21:Very accommodating - stayed one night ahead of a long charity bike ride early the next morning. Provided a room for me to put my bicycle in and had breakfast ready very early on a Sunday - agreed what we would have gone night before so it was all prepared. Very friendly welcome and lovely property - exactly as described.
Review 22:It was a lovely place to stay. Everything was of very high quality and Karen and Simon where fantastic hosts. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a break in the north east!
Review 23:Our room was not en-suite (I believe that all the other rooms are) and the bathroom was across the landing which was a minor inconvenience. Also the entrance gate to the farmhouse is very narrow particularly if you have a large car and needs to be approached with care if you don't want to leave the side of your car behind !
Review 24:This is a wonderful farmhouse B&B run by a very friendly couple who did everything they could to make our stay a pleasure. The room was very large and the bed was huge and very comfortable. Excellent breakfast cooked to order.
Review 25:We picked this place at random because it was conveniently located and reasonably priced. We were delighted to find a gem. Very comfortable room and bed, very hospitable hosts, and a warm welcome for our dog. The breakfast was just right.
Review 26:The owners were friendly and helpful. The room was excellent with fantastic views. Breakfast was fantastic. We had a lovely meal in the Horseshoes pub in the nearby village of Rennington which was recommended by owner
Review 27:We enjoyed a very restful break, the days we went visiting castles, walk s etc were brilliant and our hosts at stamford farmhouse were very welcoming and couldn't do enough to help us.
Review 28:Welcoming, friendly hosts. Lovely accommodation with great big, exceptionally comfy bed! Fab breakfast - very tasty and accommodating to likes/dislikes. Thanks for a great stay Stamford farmhouse!
Review 29:The house was hard to find and had very narrow entrance gates. There were a lot of stairs, and our room did not have an en suite bathroom, which we weren't expecting. Also, our bed would only be made and our room tidied if we specifically asked, and the bathroom was not cleaned at all during our 5-night stay.
Review 30:The large house had a comfortable residents' lounge, and the full Northumbrian breakfasts were tasty.
Review 31:They could do with a mirror opposite exit drive to check for traffic from the right.
Review 32:Very comfortable beds. Convenient location for Northumbrian coast. Genial hosts.
Review 33:The gates to enter the driveway were a bit narrow, but Simon and Karen are in the process of moving the entrance and making the access wider.
Review 34:Simon and Karen were brilliant hosts and we felt as though we had known them for years. The breakfast was so good and filling we didn't need a lunch. The guest house was in a beautiful place and was a good base to explore Northumberland. A lovely house with very friendly hosts.
Review 35:Simon & Karen were the perfect hosts and felt like old friends. They were very helpful in suggesting places to visit a and both had a super since of humour.
Review 36:This B&B is located in beautiful Northumbrian countryside. The best bed I've slept in. Beautiful period property in gorgeous grounds. The owners were lovely and friendly. Great nights sleep and scrummy breakfast.
Review 37:the check in time is usually 5pm, we were attending a wedding which was in the afternoon and into the night after a message and a phone call they had our room ready and keys ready for us earlier than the 5pm. Very friendly hosts, clean comfortable rooms and bed and an excellent breakfast to start the day. I will recommend to anyone wishing to visit the area.
Review 38:The hosts are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. The facilities are first rate, has to be the comfiest bed I have every slept in. Great location for so many places. Already thinking about a return visit.
Review 39:It was all good! Very friendly, helpful couple, really comfortable bed, lovely bathroom and very nicely cooked breakfast (plus fresh fruit and cereals) Lovely beaches only minutes away, by car. Very good value.
Review 40:Very accommodating of our late arrival due to becoming stuck in traffic and we were given a free room upgrade. Happy to accommodate our cat. Bed was superb, huge and comfortable and breakfast was great.
Review 41:Very welcoming hosts who really cared about their guests. They recommended just the most perfect, suitable places to visit to make our holiday such a superb one.
Review 42:Beautiful setting, fabulous hosts. Very rural and quiet which was just what we wanted. Lovely period furniture, spotless room. Easy drive to restaurants and pubs. Couldnt fault it.
Review 43:Limited local places to eat looked very good and we were directed to them by our hosts. However they were all fully booked on a Sat night. A warning to reserve a table would probably have helped.
Review 44:Good size room and provision of guest lounge. Rural views and outlook
Review 45:Might be worth sticking a mini B&B sign by the hedge as we drove straight past!
Review 46:Felt very welcome by Simon & Karen. Very good hospitality. Lovely choice of breakfast as well in the morning.
Review 47:Loved the home, and the breakfast was incredible. We all slept like babies in the soft beds. Thank you Simon and Karen for your warm hospitality. Our boys loved feeding the chickens in the morning! Cheers!
Review 48:Made us feel very welcome, warm and cosy. They arranged booking for evening meal and fire on when we got home, dog laid on rug in front of fire, just like home!
Review 49:A very warm welcome, and the owners really couldn't have done any more for us. A large sitting room is set aside for guests, complete with a roaring coal fire and a glass of delicious port. A comfortable big bed to sink into a deep refreshing sleep. Lovely room, a powerful hot shower, and a large tasty breakfast helped make our stay at the farmhouse a real treat. Thoroughly recommended.
Review 50:The most comfortable bed I've ever slept in! Karen and Simon were so kind and hospitable, they went out of their way to make sure we had a lovely stay. The farmhouse is well located and is only a short drive from Bamburgh and Alnwick. We will be back :)
Review 51:Nothing worth mentioning.
Review 52:Friendly and helpful hosts, lovely food, and an excellent room. I'd have to be extremely picky to find any minor faults, but they were so minor they didn't matter.
Review 53:Welcome was very warm matched by a lovely open fire in lounge. Huge comfortable bed Lovely white linen and towels Hearty and filling breakfast Excellent response to booking request for gluten-free bread and soya milk
Review 54:We loved everything!
Review 55:If you are looking for clean, comfortable, conveniently located accommodation this is the place for you! The hosts are welcoming and pay great attention to details. The rooms are comfortable and well equipped. The location is peaceful but close to Alnwick and the coast. The breakfast is served in one of the receptions of the old Victorian farm house and it was well cooked and we were given plenty of options. We will definitely go back!
Review 56:We had a very lovely welcome from Simon upon our arrival after a day of travelling and exploring the local area. The fire was lit for us to spend some time in the lounge should we wish to, we were given a larger room with more space due to the fact that we had our three doggies with us and there were no other bookings for that night (which was really kind!). The room was lovely, clean, warm and welcoming. We enjoyed the big deep bath for a soak after a tiring day and the bed was so comfy, we didn't want to get out! We enjoyed a wonderful cooked breakfast the next day and a chat about weddings (and other things) with Karen :-) A wonderful place to stay, we'd love to come again - thank you for making us feel so welcome. Thank you also for letting us bring our dogs to stay, they enjoyed the fuss you made of them and of course their walks on the beautiful beaches nearby.
Review 57:The tightest of squeezes to get the car through the narrow gates at the farmhouse. Especially in the dark! It won't put us off from going back!
Review 58:Our stay could not have been bettered. Excellent hosts and breakfasts. The room was spacious, the bed huge and comfy. We will definitely stay again when we go back to Northumberland.
Review 59:No sign on the gate or door. Difficult to find in the dark.

Review 61:WiFi was a bit intermittent but that's the countryside
Review 62:Friendly welcome and hospitality Massive comfy bed Close to lots of great restaurants Close to beach and hills Beautiful views Great breakfast food (Meaty and vegetarian)
Review 63:I am sure it was an oversight, but we did find that we did not have clean mugs in the bedroom for our second night's stay!
Review 64:We had a very warm welcome. When we asked for a recommendation for a restaurant for an evening meal, it was so good that we went to the same place two consecutive evenings, which we have never done before! We had a lovely bedroom and bathroom and enjoyed our breakfasts. We would certainly like to visit again sometime.
