Reviews for Le Gentleman

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:It was clear that the owners had good taste, and had done a fantastic job of renovating this historic property. The hotel was quite unique with lots of character, and was a refreshing change from staying in bland, over-priced accommodation. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable, and the breakfast was the best we had during our stay in France. The hosts were very polite and attentive and spoke good English.

Review 3:Pascal is a true host. Very approachable, pleasant, informative and relaxed. The building and environs are first rate with good secure parking for vehicles, especially those of value coming for Le Mans vacations.

Review 4:That all the restaurants in La Fleche were closed on a Wednesday evening !

Review 5:Very modern, bedrooms well appointed, minimalistic style. Lovely old building close to the centre of La Fleche.

Review 6:Paying to park the car in the private car park!

Review 7:Very helpful staff, booked the restaurant for us, always difficult when travelling on a Sunday!! Lovely room, clean and comfortable. Superb breakfast.....

Review 8:This hotel is one of the nicest I've stayed in. The attention to detail was second to none. From the fluffy bath towels to the antique mirror hung in our bathroom, table linen at breakfast and muslin tea bags from a varied selection. The place is a true credit to the owners and staff that work there. I would not hesitate to stay again.

Review 9:Beautiful building, helpful staff, drinks in the garden were a highlight. Rooms so comfortable - we're looking forward to coming back on our return journey home.

Review 10:I could find no fault with the hotel the best I stayed in during my trip.

Review 11:The hotel is maintained to a very high standard, and spotlessly clean. attention to detail

Review 12:Just what one needs at a Hotel! Warm Welcome, Clean and Confortable Room, All working Bathroom, Secure Parking, WiFi, Quality food at Breakfast .........

Review 13:Nothing to dislike

Review 14:Lovely building having completed a 10 month renovation last year. Good location being quietly set but a gentle 5 minute stroll to the town centre. Good parking facilities (very secure).

Review 15:The name!

Review 16:The service is superb and matched only by quality of the rooms. It is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in and recommended it to a local business for their visitors

Review 17:Maybe the fact you can have a more simple breakfast ( at slightly less cost) could be advised on arrival. But a minor point really.

Review 18:Renovation has been an obvious labour of love to create this chic boutique hotel. Large bed & good pillows made for a great nights sleep. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Secure parking was at back of hotel so easy for bags etc.

Review 19:There was nothing to dislike.

Review 20:The owners are friendly very experienced people who will do anything to facilitate one's stay. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable, unlike many other hotels in France. It should have 4 stars.

Review 21:I would have liked some cheese and maybe cold meat on the breakfast buffet. But otherwise it was fine

Review 22:Charming owners, very helpful. Good size bedroom, hugh very comfortable bed. Clean and very smart. Pretty little garden weather permitting.

Review 23:Breakfast could have had some protein, just bread, jam, croissant doesn't really set you up for the day. Maybe some eggs, cheese or cold meats ?

Review 24:Decor redolent of a past luxurious time, helpful staff, comfy bed. White bed linen, good shower, fluffy towels , pretty garden, easy parking all made this a good stop. Hotel near to the town centre with places to eat and a beautiful river scene.

Review 25:While the hotel was perfect, La Fleche itself is not the most engaging of towns. There's enough to see and do for a day, so it's ideal for an overnight stop-over, but it's not somewhere we will be returning to again.

Review 26:After a fortnight of camping, staying at Le Gentleman was a much-needed dose of civilisation. Our room was spacious, beautifully styled and decorated, with a huge shower and wonderfully comfortable beds. Good value, too. The owners were generous with their time and advice. A perfect end to an great holiday.

Review 27:The staff at the hotel were fantastic. They were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Everything was immaculate and so beautifully presented. If I'm in that region again I would definitely stay there again.

Review 28:Being charged extra for de caffeinated coffee was a bit disappointing

Review 29:We arrived tired and weary after a long journey. Our room was lovely and beautifully appointed - bed fabulously comfortable, towels thick and fluffy. There was a real sense of luxury about the place. A personal touch that came through when talking to the owners. On asking why it was only 3 stars, we were told that it was because they hadn't put a lift in, as they felt it would compromise the integrity of the building. Which I agree with. Our room on the ground floor would have been perfect for a wheel chair user, so no issue there. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 30:We wish we had booked at least one more night at Le Gentleman to savour the comfort of the hotel and enjoy more of the town itself (just a 5-minute walk away). The hotel has been restored to a high standard, and combines the comfort and standards of an up-market hotel with the easy friendliness of a family-owned B&B. The owners obviously care about their guests' comfort and took care to make sure we had what we needed. Our room was finished to a high standard, with a very comfortable bed and all facilities you would expect. The hotel is also quiet. Our room was on the front, overlooking the road, but it is a quiet road with hardly any traffic and we slept with the window open. If you stay here you will not be disappointed.

Review 31:Everything is already mentioned above.

Review 32:The decor is tastefully done and the ornate Features are amazing. Could do with tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge/mini bar in the bedroom. Some more English titled publications for reading material would be good. Vary the breakfast and offer at least some soft and hard boiled eggs.

Review 33:Breakfast offered a poor selection as the meat plate was not replenished and there was no fruit option and as the breakfast was charged at11euros per person I would have thought that should have been an obvious inclusion.

Review 34:Beautiful place. Very comfortable. Lovely garden. Secure parking. Great suggestions for local restaurants.

Review 35:No fresh milk at breakfast

Review 36:Beautifully restored French townhouse. Quadruple room was actually 2 adjoining rooms which kids loved! Excellent showers and spotless rooms. Easy stroll into lovely town.

Review 37:Beautiful place. We were received in a very pleasant way. Very comfortable rooms. Good beds. Decent breakfast (for French standards). Definitely recommendable.

Review 42:understated, classy décor. beautiful bed linen. great breakfast

Review 43:Comfortable accommodation in a very French B&B. Breakfast was excellent and although no evening meal, good restaurants only a short walk away.

Review 44:The place had a great feel about it. Great bedroom and breakfast room. Secure parking.

The cosy and calm atmosphere of the place is such that we regreted not being able to stay longer. The rooms are comfortable, very classy and spotless. Breakfast is superb and I strongly recommand a cup of tea in front of the fire place. Very well located between Le Mans and Angers, the area is charming with plenty of places to visit. We'll definately come back.
