Reviews for 12 Market Street

Review 1:The location was in the centre of town next to a greengrocer and the morning delivery trucks were extremely noisy. In general, the noise from the streets was not well insulated and it was no different to living on a busy London street.

Review 2:The flat was very clean and well maintained with good amenities.

Review 3:Poor car park facilities. There is only one long-stay car park but badly organised, it's not possible to pay up front and you have to wake up early morning to go in to the car park to pay the parking charges. I would wish the Powys council to consider the changes. Hay-on-Wye is a perfect place for a holiday but I believe that tourists would prefer to have a bit of lay in instead of getting up before 8am to go to the car park.

Review 4:Amazing apartament in very good location, felt like at home, nice and comfy. Small, quiet town but with plenty of opportunities whether you want to go for a walk and be close to the nature or you wish to go for a good dinner, tea or pint or two. There were two couples of us in the age of 37-40 and we absolutely loved our stay in Hay-on-Wye at 12 Market Street. Definitely we are going to repeat it.

Review 5:Be aware, that as the property is in the centre of town, the shops have early deliveries! Didn't bother us, but night owls might not like it.

Review 6:It was very central, was warm and cosy, and was exactly as described. It was a super base for all the bookshops!

Review 7:nothing

Review 8:we liked the location in the middle of Hay on Wye. Even though we live on a rural smallholding we found it very quiet and relaxing and we did not use our car. The apartment itself is 5 star and we have already booked to return.

Review 9:We stayed in buttermarket and I would say that the noise from the apartment above was the only downfall. But this should be expected when staying in a older building I suppose.

Review 10:The facilities and location were perfect for a break away to explore the beautiful surroundings. I would highly recommend the apartment to others and hope to visit again some time soon

Review 11:no email or text before we got there to tell us how to gain access to the building/room had to go to local shops to try find someone that knew the owners. so where left hanging around waiting.

Review 12:the apartment is nice

Review 13:Stunning , contemporary , apartment within historic building in the very heart of the town . Everything is of the highest quality & first class standards of cleanliness in all elements .

Review 14:The bathroom downstairs has an issue with the valve which means it is really smelly, like drains, not nice as it's next to the kitchen but if it is fixed it will be fine. Shame as the bathrooms are really lovely. Also this flat might not suit light sleepers as the delivery vans start at around 5 delivering to the Londis directly below/behind the building, same with the market stalls on a Thursday.

Review 15:It was a real home from home, very cosy, with everything you could need and it was very clean. The owners have obviously put a lot of thought into the flats sparing no expense. For us the location was fab, right in the centre of Hay on Wye.

Review 16:The town itself. Pretty boring. Also the TV wouldn't work all the time which was annoying

Review 17:Great central location and a lovely little apartment. Very comfortable bed

Review 18:The only thing to be aware of is the noise from the shop opposite at 5.30 am. I always wake early so it didn't bother me and my wife came prepared with earplugs after reading the reviews.

Review 19:Excellent Central location, spotlessly clean, very comfortable.

Review 20:We were given very clear and helpful instructions as to how to get to the property and the location of free car parking within Hay-on-Wye. The property was safe and welcoming from the moment we stepped in through the door, The children loved it straight away as well. We had everything we needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay and anything that was not in the apartment we could find elsewhere easily following the guidance in the information file that was left for us.

Review 21:There were trucks unloading in front of the appartment in the early morning, which made a lot of noise

Review 22:Clean and perfect accommodation in the middle of the city centre

Review 23:Lovely little apartment in a great location. Everything we needed in a home from home with extra bonus of tea and a delicious cake waiting for us!! Very handy visitor handbook with local recommendations and friendly owners :) definitely recommend:)

Review 24:Shame there is no double glazing as the local traders started their days at 5am resulting in crashing and banging all around, including directly below the bedroom window (maybe we were just unlucky). First floor apartment is partially overlooked from properties opposite.

Review 25:Well appointed modern comfortable apartment in an old building with all necessary facilities to hand. Great bed, nice bathroom and fast wifi. Good location in centre of town.

Review 26:Nothing, it was a lovely weekend! (The only thing to consider is the parking in Hay-on-Wye, which is limited, but that certainly isn't reflective of the accommodation!)

Review 27:We stayed in Rooftops, two couples with two bedrooms and bathrooms. The facilities were comfortable and met all of our needs; the self-catering kitchen provided us the opportunity to cook breakfast and leave provisions for post-book hunting snacks and basics (coffee, tea, milk, bread) were provided. The instructions provided pre-arrival were helpful, thorough and accurate. The central location made it easy to explore the town and do some walks. Would highly recommend for anyone traveling to Hay and hope to stay again!

Review 28:High quality home from home in the very centre of beautiful Hay on Wye . Every element of the apartment is exceptional & I look forward to returning .

Review 29:The location was excellent and all the items in the apartment are of a high quality. The bed was very comfy and the apartment was very clean. The welcome pack was absolutely lovely and a very nice personal touch. The instructions we received previous to our arrival were very easy to follow. Parking isn't a problem - we were emailed a map previous to our arrival showing free parking and paid car parks. We are thinking are booking again for the summer!

Review 30:This apartment is in the perfect location in the centre of town, and access is easy. It has a calm, welcoming atmosphere and the 'starter pack' of groceries was a lovely touch. The kitchen is beautifully appointed and well-equipped with dishwasher,my ridge, freezer and washing machine. We only made tea and toast as there are so many eating opportunities in the town, but you could do the whole Sunday roast performance if you were so moved. The whole place is spotlessly clean, with 'posh hotel' bathroom, fluffy towels and lovely toiletries. The bed and sofas were very comfortable. In summary, a calm and relaxing luxury retreat.

Review 31:Nothing much really. Wasn't aware bedrooms were on separate floors which with young children was not ideal.

Review 32:Modern, clean, comfortable, luxurious. Wonderful welcome to essential items such as bread, milk, eggs & local cake. Fabulous exposed beams. Spacious shower ensuite to master bedroom. Quality stay. Central location. Super helpful staff to contact when needed.

Review 33:We were able to park in the street from 5pm until 9am but then had to move the car to a car park to avoid parking fines.

Review 34:It was in the very centre of Hay on Wye which is a good base for site seeing in the Brecon Beacons and Wye Valley..

Review 35:the apartment was so well equipped with top of the range equipment, including china and glassware the accommodation is placed directly in the centre of the town so easy to walk everywhere

Review 36:We liked everything about Buttermarket. It's stylish, perfectly located a wonderful place to stay. Very nice touches such as the bath products and the welcome pack, bread, eggs etc was very much appreciated. We will definitely be back.

Review 37:The spec of the apartment and quality of the equipment was superb. The welcome pack was lovely and much appreciated. The location could not be more central.

Review 38:A lovely apartment, very clean and well equipped. Location is perfect as a base for walking in the surrounding area. A really welcoming and relaxing place to stay, would highly recommend.

Review 39:Nothing

Review 40:Beautifully clean well equipped apartment, superbly furnished. Lovely welcome pack waited for us. Lack of parking wasn't a problem, there were plenty of free parking bays in the evening and the biggest car park I've ever seen is about 100 yards away for daytime parking at £2.50 a day.

Review 41:Parking is a little tricky in Hay, but that's it.

Review 42:The apartment is warm and friendly with lovely decor - a delight in fact. The kitchen was fantastic not least because of the eggs, butter, milk and fresh bread waiting for us. The central location is perfect and lends itself to easy pottering and no need to get in a car. The perfect, romantic bolt hole.

Review 43:The accommodation was very clean, well-positioned right in the centre of town, and of very good quality. We particularly enjoyed the "nice touch" of providing excellent local bread, marmalade and butter. We would definitely recommend and intend to return sometime.

Review 44:Television signal was intermittent at times. Parking would have been a problem if we had taken the car.

Review 45:Everything was finished to a high standard. Facilities, decor, fittings - all. Having tea, coffee, milk, eggs, bread, butter and marmalade available in the apartment was a lovely touch and very appreciated. Location was excellent too.

Review 46:Good levels of comfort, equipment and facilities combined with excellent central location. Excellent Wi-Fi approx. 16 mbps. Welcome pack with fresh bread, butter, marmalade, milk, tea, ground coffee etc

Review 47:We stayed here for three nights at the beginning of September and to say this apartment was lovely is a massive understatement. It was immaculate and so tastefully done out. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here. 10/10.

Review 48:No parking.

Review 49:Enjoyed out stay very much. Definitely come back.

Review 60:Wonderful place!

Review 61:Having to get up and pay for carparking before 8am but don't worry Londis opposite will make sure you're up by 5.30am.

Review 62:Once unloaded, we didn't use the car for 3 days. Plenty of lovely walks, little independent shops & the books of course!
