Review 1：The bed in the room was terrible. Needs to be looked at as very lumpy and mattress very thin. Also no heat on in the room when I arrived and didn't warm up really until the morning

Review 5：Restaurant was closed each evening we stayed there and no one had mentioned this when accepting our booking or when checking in. The public areas of the hotel were all freezing cold. In our bedroom ( for 2 people) we had one packet of biscuits and one bottle of water to share and the same again the next day. It's obviously a hotel chain in difficulties!

Review 7：The staff during checking in was unfriendly (actually awful), specifically asked for 2 rooms away from traffic but was still located near the road. The beds are very hard, as they are new, to my liking, being too thin does not help the situation. Asked for couple of double duvets as toppers, worked well. Short of staff to help with carrying luggage etc. Food far too expensive. If you want to watch TV there are not many channels switch between. Corridors are not kept very clean. Trays with dirty plates outside of the rooms not collected, smelly etc. Not nice. I think that's due to short of staff. Only shower gel and shampoo in the bathrooms. Definitely don't forget your own toiletries. You wont find them in standard rooms.

Review 8：Close to city centre, the food was good, very clean, health club, swimming pool, sauna and steam room, free car park. When I made a complaint it was dealt promptly. I was upgraded to a much nicer room with the same price. Very good value for money especially during Christmas time. I would definitely stay again.

Review 9：When we arrived we were placed in a twin room and not a double. However, this was rectified immediately by placing us in the room next door. Unfortunately this room had a bathroom that smelt of stale cigarettes. Also the extractor fan was not working. We were offered yet another room, however we did not wish to move our belongings again and so we put up with the room that we had.

Review 11：Rooms were not noise proof, you could hear everything in corridors/bathroom/next door rooms. Fire Alarm went on day one at night Day 2 - Next room TV on until we alerted staff which kept us a wake. So not a pleasant stay.

Review 40：Booked a double room only to be given a twin room. Was then made to put up with the beds being zipped together. Then for breakfast there was no hot food left and what was left was cold staff brought more out but went so quickly . When staff were asked they just told me they were busy and that they couldn't do much about it. Was definatly not value for money. And most definatly not the customer service I would have expected.

Review 42：For the two weddings everyone came back and were all seated in the reception area for some time so it became very noisy, not ideal if you wanted to relax with a coffee or a drink. Gutters need clearing. Sounded like Niagara Falls when it rained (which it did most of the night).

Review 43：Staff were really helpful. There were two weddings and a function on at the time we were there and they all seemed to go very smoothly. Food at our function was excellent and arrived hot, which is a feat in itself with 200 people.

Review 44：I used the spa and gym in the evening. The gym itself is small, but all the machines are current and worked well. The sauna was out of order, but the pool was great even if the actual pool room could do with a bit of an update as the decor looked old and tired. There was a large group of men in the steam room/jacuzzi that were very loud and spirited (Not that the hotel was to blame for that!) so after a short swim I returned to my room. I did try to order room service but despite calling 3 or 4 times there was no answer to either numbers given in the guest information. I ended up getting dressed and going down to the bar for food.

Review 45：The rooms are lovely and comfortable, with great facilities in the rooms (The shower in particular was an absolute joy after a long day on a course). Bed was a dream. The staff at the desk were lovely and helpful and incredibly patient despite it being obviously very busy in the hotel with a couple of parties on. The buffet style breakfast the next morning was fab, plenty of choice and everything tasted great.

Review 46：I was on the ground floor. Some people were pushing rubbish and metal items through the window. So we had to close the windows all the time of our stay. Regarding breakfast the fruit was tinned. Tinned juice. Etc.

Review 48：Just put our cases in room as we were going out to a party so didn't look in bathroom but next morning I went to run the bath and the plug hole was full of hair and at the side was pubic hair after looking around the floor hadn't been cleaned it had a hair clip a button hole pin and hair no way had that bathroom been cleaned. The bed was so hard it was like sleeping on the floor. I was going to complain but the queue was too long for checking out so we left. I did take photos because I couldn't believe it could be left like that with the hotels prices.

Review 49：Guests in the forecourt below bedrooms until 4.20am rather noisy, we had informed reception of this just after 1am. The restaurant charge £16.95 for a one course meal, but if you choose other than the limited choice as we did, we had a small steak there was a supplement charge on top of £6.95, for just a steak 5 chips 1 mushroom 1 tomatoe a small pot of sauce, and a bit of cress, no veg or salad, we found this expensive. My steak was rather sinewy when my hubbie complained to thet waiter he just smiled but did nothing, which was disappointing so we didn't use the restaurant again.

Review 50：Super large bed with nice bedding. An iron and ironing board to hand. Clean tea/coffee making facilities. Helpful and friendly staff. Nice pool we were able to have a Saturday teatime dip, very refreshing.

Review 51：Ground floor room next to swing door was very noisy + the toilet fan did not switch off when light was off. The manager was not very accommodating when I pointed out the problem but I was moved the next day and room was good.

However disappointed simply because I arrived at 11.000 or so, was very hungry but no hot foods available, what was on the room service menus a selection of sandwiches wanted pizza, was told it had been busy so not available, I believe this type of hotel should always ensure supply meets demands especially since a weekday/night. So disappointed. I ordered the ham sandwich with rocket, mustard and tomatoes, I got no mustard and no tomato. when delivered to my room the chap was very helpful when I explained I enjoyed a hot meal on a night he said he offered a bowl of chips/fries, which I jumped at the chance at least something hot. when they came their were 2pepper pots and no salt and the lack of vinegar hence not brilliant. Lastly a very unsightly mark in the bathtub which was very off putting. however at that time of day approaching 01.00 ish I couldn't be bothered to say or call anyone.

Review 54：My room absolutely stunk of old cigarette smoke. I am pregnant and had been on work all day followed by a long drive up so by the time i got there I didn't have the energy to complain and see of I could be moved as I assume the next room would stink just as bad.

Review 82：the heating thermostat unfortunately didn't work in my room affected my stay and made my sleep uncomfortable and although there was free wifi I had to physically go down tp reception and ask for the user code, after entering my room and reading the guest info book manual which told me to do this.it would have been nice to be told this at reception when I checked in and not go to my room, and then find out , meaning I had to go down again after getting ready for bed, saying that the staff were very friendly and quickly gave me a user id. The heating problem was annoying and though told someone would come and look at it during my staff, nobody ever came.

Review 83：the location of the hotel was perfect and the hotel itself was very beautiful both inside and out. the décor and design of the hotel was amazing, I fell in love with the building as soon as I checked in, the room was big and spacious and again excellent design/colour scheme. the staff was very friendly and kind.

Review 84：The room was very spacious and clean and had a large TV. The bed was nice and firm and there was a choice of pillows and I thought the soft ones were great. There were a couple of chairs in the room as well so you could watch TV in comfort - without having to sit on the bed. We will definitely stay here again.

Review 110：I booked in February and paid for 2 nights plus breakfast. After a long car journey from Kent, arriving a 10 am to be told the hotel was overbooked was not a blessing. A number of hotels were rung but all full. Not impressed with the suggestion of Days Inn....a services motel. Ended up driving back down the motorway to Brighouse. When I got back the next day, the room I was given was very tired and twin beds pushed together not the double I had booked. I comfy because I could feel the join. !!!!!!

Review 139：The hotel needs to ensure that all room facilities work properly in all bedrooms and that maintenance and health and safety issues are dealt with immediately. As in my room when I last stayed 3 out of the 5 lights in the room did not work or were broken. Not only that I got my designer dress ripped on a nail that was sticking out of the wood panelling in the Cedar Suite. The hazard was so dangerous a child could have been seriously injured. Their facilities management team need to step up their game as they were sorely lacking on the 29th Nov 2014. Standard need to improve. But no-one has reimbursed mr for the loss of my designer dress..
