Reviews for Solhotel

Review 1:demasiado trafico - si se dice "vista al mar", no se expecta una carretera entre hotel y vista demasiado 08.15/regular/normal - standard cafe malo

Review 2:High standard of hotel with one of the best breakfast buffets encountered along this coast. Friendly and helpful staff. A 5 minute walk from centre of Banyuls, but great sea views from dining terrace and rooms facing sea. Rooms are spacious, clean and have balconies. Good value for high standard hotel.

Review 3:Our visit at the end of May / beginning of June seemed to be at the height of the 'Serious Walking Season'. This is not a complaint, but maybe it should be mentioned as some mornings 20/30 walkers rather swamped the breakfast area with their baggage and walking equipment.

Review 4:Fine buffet breakfast, fresh each morning, good coffee. Owner always willing to help. Hotel is approx' 1km from town, quite a long up hill walk on returning to the Hotel.

Review 5:The tub did not drain, the location was up on a cliff, and not close to the beach as one might be led to think from the hotel's promotion materials. This was the most expensive hotel we stayed in, and the least comfortable.

Review 6:It was dry, clean, comfortable, and okay.

Review 7:Beds far too hard. My back hurt badly so difficult to sleep. If not for this I would rate this hotel as excellent.

Review 8:Views. location. cleanliness. nice staff thank you.

Review 9:There is some traffic in front of the hotel with French drivers. . .

Review 10:Nice rooms with beautiful balconies with sea-views. Besides, wines at this place are excellent (white/red/vin-doux!).

Review 11:the shower has a blocked drain and the bathroom gets flooded.

Review 12:We loved the location . We could go by walking to three different beaches, all of them clean with showers. There are bakeries and supermarkets near. We could go to Portbou by car in 30 minutes having superb views. Colliure is 20 minutes apart. So we had every thing we wanted in Banyuls de la Marenda. The room is absolutely confortable for sleeping and take wonderful rides. We´d love to go back.

Review 13:The room was not properly cleaned - this was VERY notorious. As I'm a hotelier, I look into these things, but this was way beyond. The bed was not comfortable... There is none at the hotel after 20h (more or less) and luckily I remembered the code of the door in order to enter the hotel when we returned the first night - the person who shared the code with us didn't explain us properly that we would NEED IT to enter after "x" hour. They have a mini breakfast buffet which is not bad, and it was included in our rate, however, for 5,5EUR you can have breakfast in different places in the city overlooking the sea, so if you have the option to not pay for it, you don't have to take it in the hotel every morning - it was not bad, but you can also enjoy more of the surrounding areas for little money. In overall, I think the price was too high for the received quality (we payed more than 110 EUR per night), but as it is summer, I guess that is what you have to deal with with all the places full/high rates if you reserved with short time in advance.

Review 14:The location was not bad at all, they have complimentary parking and you can get to the city center within less than 10 minutes with a nice walk with stunning views. We reserved one of the rooms with view to the sea and mountain, and that was very nice to welcome the day. The room had enough space and had the basics that you need. WiFi was complimentary. The person at the Front Desk was very courteous and helpful.

Review 15:one room was not ready- no sheets or towel. also cost 50 euros more than on out printout, and staff would not listen to our reasoning, or look at our printout. left a not so happy memory of a birthday outing.

Review 16:location, comfort, practicality.

Review 17:No atmosphere

Review 18:Location

Review 19:location, balcony

Review 21:Nice view from restaurant

Review 22:As with a lot of French hotels the wifi system is a bit hit and miss

Review 23:Location, good sized roomed, freindly welcome, clean.

Review 24:Poor welcome, no ambience.

Review 25:Rooms were clean

Review 26:Everything and even the weather was great. The sea view was something special.Very

Review 28:petit déjeuner sur la terrasse avec vu sur la mer et le soleil levant

Review 30:Just a comment, towels were well worn, although clean

Review 31:Clean, tidy and friendly

Review 32:Problems to enter at night

Review 33:Room, wifi, friendly staff

Review 34:We're unable to fulfill request for twin beds and had to put in a roll away which compromised space in room.

Review 35:Clean spare rooms in good location.

Review 36:the noise from the cars driving by your window.

Review 37:the view

Review 38:Family are staff, not interested in their guests

Review 39:The attitude of the sullen, unhelpful woman on reception who did her utmost to make us feel unwelcome!! She is in the wrong job!

Review 40:The internet didn't work and the lady -staff didn't show any interest in finding a solution. The room not very clean, few toilet paper.

Review 41:The view from the room was niece.

Review 42:shower not functioning properly, towels thin, bed hard, balcony very small overlooking unused area, no fridge. Definitely not 3 star.

Review 43:not much, left after 2 nights having prepaid for 5 nights.

Review 44:Staff were rather sullen. Beds were uncomfortable. Breakfast was below average quality. Decor was dated and some things needed to be fixed in the room.

Review 45:The view from the balcony. The air-conditioning. Location was good, despite being on the main road.

Review 46:A bit pricy, it's sea view but it's street side and the sea is far view.

Review 47:Clean, with a balcony and near the streetside. Include buffet breakfast and the owner is nice.

Review 48:The woman at reception was very unfriendly and during breakfast, wepointed out that there weren't any more plates, and she shrugged.Language wasn't an issue, as we speak French. Breakfast was prettygood despite using saucers! The hotel is outside the town, which is downthe hill, a bit too far to walk with children.

Review 49:We stayed in the room with bunk beds, which was a nice option forfamilies with kids. The bed was decently comfortable and the restaurantnext door was a good option.

Review 50:I missed some kind of kettle to boil water. A refrigator would also have been convenient. But I guess fr. a 3 star hotel you can not require it.

Review 51:Location excellent just outside the village. Short walking distance to the centre. Breathtaking view over the Sea fr. the balcony. Good breakfast with a varity of also darker and healthier bread. Nice and clean rooms. Friendly staff! Free parking!

Review 52:There was nothing I could highlight that I disliked

Review 53:Clean and well organised room Excellent air conditioning unit - quiet and efficient Room had balcony - good for drying washing and relaxing on Excellent cold board breakfast - n- restrictions on quantity consumed Very helpful staff

Review 54:It was a bit far from the action and a strenuous walk from the beach and town. Limited rating opportunities nearby. Very grumpy receptionist.

Review 55:The hotel is up the hill from the beach and town. It was quiet with a lovely view.

Review 56:Very basic room, mattras covered with plastic sheet, bathroom very old, we had to wait at least 8 minutes before we got hot water... Decor very old fashion and basic. Loo cover in wood not very clean !

Review 57:Not much....

Review 58:Communication with staff prior to arrival

Review 59:Expensive breakfast (for the low quality offered)

Review 60:Location View

Review 61:Easy to get to and park after a long journey. Receptionist very welcoming and helpful.

Review 62:poor breakfast choice

Review 63:reasonable size room with double glazing and wi.fi
