Reviews for Westbrook Court
Review 1:We felt the lounge and bathroom were a little sparse and not quite as luxe as we'd hoped - but to be fair our expectations from the pictures and ratings were really high. It was still tremendous value for money.
Review 2:Excellent breakfast and such a cosy nights sleep. We loved Hay-on-Wye and this place made for the perfect weekend getaway.
Review 3:Very friendly welcome. Brilliant features to the accommodation. I've stayed in many different places and this beat the rest, great value for money
Review 4:Lovely welcome by charming couple who are very passionate about using all local products. Our room (no 4) was individually designed and really nice. Great breakfast hamper on Friday morning and a lovely cooked breakfast on Saturday.
Review 5:Quite awkward eating breakfast (room 1) as no flat surface or table to put plates etc. Bit of a clumsy balancing act .... Probably not an issue in summer with a table outside
Review 6:Lovely room. Very warm, stylish and comfortable. Great shower !! The hosts were friendly and accommodating. Loved the hamper :)
Review 7:It's a bit of a drive to Hay-on-Wye. Poor and unreliable wi fi in the room. A bit dusty in the room.
Review 8:Lovely spacious designer room. Nice outlook from the terrace. Lovely breakfast hamper. Big bathroom with great shower.
Review 9:You just need to know, that your really outside in the country. Going for dinner is by all means driving a while.
Review 10:Very nice designed rooms, very kind and helpful people, extremely comfy bed
Review 11:Lovely welcome from this family run business. The room was beautifully decorated with lots of space, comfy beds and great breakfast with local produce.
Review 12:The breakfast in the room - not what we were expecting. Thought all the rooms had a bath; room 1 doesn't.
Review 13:A very comfortable bed and lovely environment. Great views in a rural setting. Organic produce served (drinks and breakfast)
Review 14:The room was decorated in a striking and comfortable manner and the bathroom was particularly well equipped with an excellent bath and separate excellent shower. The views from outside the room were spectacular and the hamper breakfast was also very good. The owners were helpful and gave excellent advice about local places to visit and where to dine.
Review 15:The room was lovely and so nice to have the two levels. The decor was nice and original and the rooms were very clean and tidy. Breakfast was tasty and cooked from scratch every morning. We stayed over a bank holiday so didn't sample the hamper but I'm sure it would have been of the same quality. The setting was beautiful ad peaceful making for a relaxing break.
Review 16:Wifi is not the best, but that wasn't a real problem for us.
Review 17:The suites are fantastic! Beautifully decorated, spacious, huge bathroom, comfy couch. Breakfast hamper that is provided on weekdays gives the opportunity to have a bit of a lie-in.
Review 18:The 10am check out......we would have loved to stay longer in the lovely room.
Review 19:Absolutely wonderful stay. Bright and beautifully designed and the owners were so warm and welcoming and happy to chat about their home and give local recommendations. Breakfast was amazing, with fresh eggs from their hens. We will be back.
Review 20:This in no way reflects on how much we enjoyed our stay, but we felt larger towels would have been a welcome addition.
Review 21:Kari and Chris Morgan are excellent hosts, very helpful, friendly and welcoming. The rooms are very stylish and comfortable with lovely showers. Breakfasts were splendid and it was lovely to mix with other guests around the big breakfast table. Stunning views.
Review 22:It was to short
Review 23:A very peaceful and comfortable stay. The breakfast sat out side in the sun was wonderful, the croissants were particularly good and together with the smoked salmon, soft brown bread orange juice and fresh coffee, a wonderful start to the day after a good nights sleep in a very comfortable bed.
Review 24:Absolutely nothing only that we had only booked for one night and could have stayed longer!!
Review 25:All of it!! The luxury of the room, the extra little touches and the wonderful breakfast hamper delivered to our door with warm croissants and a heap of yummy goodies
Review 26:Some of the best facilities I have found in any hotel let alone what would be considered a B&B. Fabulous shower and bath, comfortable beds, excellent use of the space and high end design.
Review 27:Some improvements are possible: Internet was very week (my emails did not go out, so has to use the Internet from the tapas bar in town) The shower in room one was too hot and we could not manage to turn the temperature down. Check out at 10 is a bit on the early side. 12 is generally the standard.
Review 28:The decoration of the rooms made the stay specially pleasant - lots of light, simple beautiful details and very comfortable temperature in the room. The breakfast brought to the room in a basket on weekdays was a delicious and it did not disturb sleep (was left outside)
Review 29:I can't think of anything that I didn't like.
Review 30:The beautiful room -- the gorgeous views -- the delicious, local food. Kari did an outstanding job and I can't recommend this place enough.
Review 31:The only thing we were sad about is that we couldn't stay longer!
Review 32:We wish we could have stayed much longer than we did! Kari and Chris were incredibly welcoming during our one night stay at Westbrook Court. Our room was simply stunning, with an incredibly comfortable bed - we slept soundly despite the howling wind and rain! The shower room was beautiful and clean, and the shower was amazing... Kari's eye for interior design made us feel like we were staying in a contemporary five star hotel, with the bonus of being tucked away in the beautiful quiet countryside. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful - me being a fussy veggie was no problem, and the locally sourced tea and coffee was gorgeous. A truly unique b&b and we will definitely be returning!
Review 33:As we were there mid March and it was quite cold, we felt the accommodation could've been cosier. The downstairs could benefit from some soft furnishing e.g. curtains especially for winter visitors! Unfortunately the heating had only just come on an hour or so before we arrived so the place wasn't warm enough. However, when we returned from the the Bridge Inn in Michaelchurch Escley - highly recommend it had warmed up nicely!
Review 34:Interesting interiors caught my eye when looking for accommodation. Nice sized bathroom and a great choice for breakfast. Like the picnic idea.
Review 35:The rooms are great value for money. Modern design with lots of interesting details. Then hosts were fantastic and very welcoming. Lovely breakfast with local produce, shared breakfast table allows for interesting conversation with other guests. Great for swapping tips
Review 36:Liked the countryside setting, the barn conversion with a choice of individually styled rooms. Received a warm welcome and a lovely breakfast hamper that was delivered to the door. Look forward to returning.
Review 37:It's a couple miles out of Hay, so you'll need to drive to most places.
Review 38:The owners/hosts were friendly, informative and helpful without being intrusive at all. The accommodation is unusual but interesting. Excellent breakfast, plus locally sourced.
Review 39:Bed settee in the lounge was uncomfortable and we retired to bed quite early. Breakfast came in a basket and we were unable to do it justice because we were due in Hay on Wye at 8.45 and there was no table to eat it comfortably. The breakfast was continental and somewhat limited. The high rating for this property might have raised our expectations too high and my wife was disappointed that we had paid so much for this accommodation. We travel a good deal and we are rarely disappointed with the places we stay but this did not quite hit the mark as £100 a night paid in advance. Delightful host however but may need to adjust prices accordingly.
Review 40:Fantastic bathroom and beds, wonderful welcome.
Review 41:Check out was a bit early.
Review 42:We liked the individual rooms with there own entrance and outside space, loved the unique style but just needed more plants inside/ outside or pictures to make it feel more cosy.
Review 43:A great little B&B with a high standard of accommodation in beautiful surroundings. Clean, quiet and relaxing. Facilities are modern and the rooms furnished with a refreshing individuality. my fiance and I will be back when we are next in the vicinity!
Review 44:the location is really hard to find and it is kind of hard to find restaurant in the surrounding area
Review 45:Very good interior design and really large bathroom, the room is clean and stylish. enough space for parking.
Review 46:When we arrived we met with Chris and Kari who showed us around our very stylish room (Room 1) and told us everything we needed to know. They had also made a folder which included great places to eat, shop and stop to do fun activities. As we stayed on a weekday, after a very comfortable nights sleep, we received a great breakfast hamper which included their homemade jam and fresh eggs from their own chickens. We both enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back soon! :)
Review 47:My partner and I had a great 2 night stay at Westbrook Court. Beautiful location, attentive and informative hosts, fab rooms and a cracking breakfast!!
Review 48:Breakfast was a bit of a rush as had to leave early.
Review 49:Very quiet & peaceful. Very stylish decor. Good quality hamper breakfast. Very hospitable host, happy chickens.
Review 50:Wifi was nonfunctional at time of stay. Nil phone reception either. However, there is wifi at the host house next-door.
Review 51:Lovely host with good directions to B&B. Quiet countryside retreat. Excellent breakfast provided both weekdays and weekends. Good sound isolation. Large toilet. Clean and comfortable. Spacious. 10mins to Hay-On-Wye.
Review 52:Wi-fi didn't work too well, although being out in the country probably was one cause.
Review 53:The directions to Westcourt and communication was excellent; it's clean and neat though could have used a table or surface in the room beyond the one there. Hosts very friendly, well located to get around from and parking was fine.
Review 54:Minor niggles / considersations: Owners warned that WiFi could be problematic due to location, and they were right: didn't work. Upstairs beds made me anxious about kids going to bathroom, downstairs, in the night. All was fine though. The TV's sound was playing up a bit. Our bad though that we forgot to mention to owners. Location means taxis are problematic, so you probably need to drive, and therefore no drinkipoos in Hay for the designated driver. But a lovely evening was had in the room-come-lodge with red wine, yay.
Review 55:If you're planning on visiting Hay (aka Hay-on-Wye) then Westbrook Court is less than 10 mins drive away. Whilst you might be put off by having to drive out of town, the upside is that you get the benefit of a 'room' that is half way to being a lodge, with your sofa, TV, coffee and bathroom downstairs and your double or twin bed upstairs, for the same price as you'd pay for a cramped room elsewhere, and the tasteful decoration is a bonus indeed. Crucially, for the missus in particular, the bed was really comfortable and mega appreciated. The full cooked breakfast (weekends only I believe, though the breakfast hamper during the week sounds great), made by the friendly hosts, was most welcome. Hosts were lovely, very welcoming.
Review 56:Lack of a really comfortable place to sit in the room I had. Storage was a bit thin.
Review 57:Super location - absolutely beautiful. Lovely people - couldn't do enough. Great bathroom facilities. Wonderful room size. All-round atmosphere and ambiance. Would be a great base for exploring the area, walking or just relaxing
Review 58:Nothing to dislike at all
Review 59:Everything!!The outlay of the room (no 3) and the quality of the furnishings was fantastic. Breakfast delivered to the door, what more could you ask for, the whole stay was enjoyable
Review 60:It was very hot when we stayed, maybe a light throw would be a good idea as well as a duvet.
Review 61:Lovely setting, warm welcome and advice on where to go. Breakfasts excellent. We liked the home made jam and locally blended tea and coffee. Gorgeous bed!

Review 107:Everything about it - it was a lovely comfortable, warm, friendly and welcoming place to stay from which to explore Hay-on-Wye and the surrounding area. Nothing was too much trouble and we had a really comfortable relaxing weekend, which was what we were aiming for.
