Reviews for Sorrisniva Igloo Hotel

Review 1:The only downside, it's pretty expensive!

Review 2:The staff were lovely and very attentive and the ice hotel is stunning. They also offer some fun activities. I recommend the dog sledding.

Review 3:Terrible little portion of food, feel like I will still feel hungry after eating three main course. Expensive and not tasty

Review 4:Everything are perfect except the food

Review 5:Absolutely nothing

Review 6:Nothing was too much trouble from the first email regarding our stay and activities. This carried on during our stay where the service was exceptional. Apart from that the hotel itself is of course stunning. Very tranquil and comfortable in the main hotel. The room we had in the ice hotel and the rest of the hotel with ice sculptures and chapel was just beautiful. The meal we had was gorgeous. Finally the dog sled tour and snowmobile safari arranged for us are not to be missed. The snowmobiles are great fun but the dog sled tour and handling the dogs was just magical. Very friendly owner and staff and just a fantastic experience from start to end

Review 7:The atmosphere was mystical and peaceful. There were lots of outdoors to explore in different ways. We walked the frozen river and took the dog sleds on a tour.

Review 8:I wasn't aware that reindeer skins (which are used on the beds) have such a peculiar smell :-)

Review 9:The stay was a perfect adventure! Excellent food, very personal and friendly service. Beautiful aurora (northern light) whilst in the outdoor hot tub, snowmobile trip with a very interesting guide to the artic mountain plateau Finnmarksvidda in sunny weather. All in all everything surpassed our expectations.

Review 10:Extraordinary doesn't even begin to describe the magical moments we experienced from the moment we arrived. The owner Mr.Tor and his staff have perfected every intricate detail of the ice hotel and all this gem has to offer. We were warmly welcomed, they helped us to track the northern lights and our meals at the hotel were sophisticated in presentation and exquisite in both quality and taste. We had no prior assumptions that the modern conviniences of a 5 star hotel would apply to a room made of ice in the middle of the Arctic. Those conviniences were, however, available in the main building which suited us just fine. Our fantastic fairytale experience in this hotel will never be forgotten!

Review 11:The luggage storage area where you leave your cases ( you can't leave them in the ice room for obvious reasons!) was cramped and awkward.

Review 12:The igloo hotel was a fantastic experience and was in a lovely location. The food and service in the restaurant were supErbistock.

Review 13:Could use more bedding UNDER us On top was fine

Review 14:STAFF Was fabulous VERY HELPFUL Esp making recommendations Booking trips Hotel. All detail Done. Ice carvings. Food

Review 15:- As soon as you arrive, it looks like they're bored to meet you at the reception. There were two of us and the Lady (with "shy" English) looked like we arrived in the middle of something important she was involved in and had no time to give to us. She showed us nothing of the hotel, just pointing places with a finger and telling us to visit the ice-part if we wanted to. Alone.Instead of that, I noticed the warm welcome the COMPLETE STAFF (even waiters) gave to a group of people after us.Maybe we were only two people for one night and not worth enough as a good deal...- as you arrive, you have to leave all your stuff (luggages and clothes) in a small, common room, never closed, where people has free access anytime. It also look like a closet/warehouse for hotel stuff (boxes and unused things left in a corner)- obviously, rooms have no toilets. But main lobby neither! If you want to shower, you must use Sauna's changing room and toilets. With common, opened showers like those used in public swimming pools...No amenity kits, no shampoo, no hand towels but paper wipes.Towels are those used to get into the sauna.WC are located in the same changing room (one) and in the main lobby (one), close to the reception, the one who people coming to dine at restaurant will use...So in the end: this hotel has NO PRIVATE TOILETS for people sleeping there!- common areas: a nice room with fireplace and TWO armchairs + TWO couches. All the rest are tables and chairs with non-sense use. People staying at the hotel wants to relax after out-door activities in the cold weather and there's no place where you can feel comfortable enough to do it! Maybe they don't add any couch so people won't fall into temptation of sleeping there instead of the ice-cold rooms? ;)- restaurant: not worth the price. Expensive with small dishes (maybe microwaved...

Review 16:- Suggestive impact as soon as you enter the ice-part of the hotel. - Tea and coffee available on a table close to entrance any time.

Review 17:Nothing.

Review 18:Wonderful location. Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was excellent, especially the salmon. Dog sledding and snow scooter were great fun and luxuriating in the outside hot tub at midnight (with a hat on!) under the Northern lights was amazing! Excellent sleeping bags are provided for sleeping in the igloo - no need to fear the cold. All in all, a most enjoyable, unique experience.

Review 19:None

Review 20:The hotel is amazing and the staff are really friendly and helpful

Review 21:The rooms could have been better.

Review 22:Out waitress.

Review 23:The overall quality of all services. The perfect place for a special occation.

Review 24:Beautiful ice hotel and excellent food. We also appreciated the friendly atmosphere!

Review 25:staff, Food, ambience

Review 26:Although we were not cold, somehow it is not a good night's rest. We are not used to sleeping bags, so this might have something to do with it.

Review 27:considering what it cost I wish I had just visited the place for free. you're paying a lot of money just to sleep there overnight (in a sleeping bag) and have breakfast. was a little underwhelming.

Review 28:interesting experience, it's where I saw the northern lights for the first time and the staff are really friendly and helpful.

Review 29:I think more could have been done to make the experience memorable. The food, presentation and service were impeccable; however the tables were covered with paper and paper napkins were used. It didn't measure up to the food. I recommend cloth instead. We had to ask that the ice bar be opened. They accommodated us and the Vodka was on the house, but it would have been nice to have a planned activity with all 9 guests involving the ice bar -- more festive and would have encouraged socialization among the guests. The choice of souveniers was disappointing -- just t-shirts and mugs, some glass jewelry, sweaters. Nothing unique to the hotel. If there were replicas of the hotel or, perhaps, sterling silver pendants depicting the image of the hotel, I would have dropped some money! The hotel was unique but the rest of the experience was so-so. I expected more for the money.

Review 30:I enjoyed how unique this hotel was. The restaurant was amazing. The ice bed was extremely comfortable -- my husband and I slept very well. The owner and staff were extremely cordial and helpful.

Review 31:Should be more encouragement to spend time in the ice hotel side instead of the main building - no one was at the ice bar and we didn't know it could be opened on request!

Review 32:The sculptures, ice bar and wedding chapel were amazing. Staff were very friendly and gave us the Ragnarrock mini-suite :)

Review 33:Dinner was excellent in the restaurant, very cosy fires and surroundings, ice hotel is very impressive, good quality sleeping bags available to keep you warm at night...staff were very helpful organising trips, e.g. dog sledding before arrival

Review 34:It is an absolutely unique hotel made by ice. It is very beautiful and worth to see. They have a good restaurant as well. It is of course not really confortable to sleep on the icy bed even if you are in a warm sleeping bag, but it is a special experience.

Review 35:It would be nice to get wifi. The welcome ice drinks should be gratis- it would be a nice touch. It would be nice to have the shower areas for woman in separate stalls...that had hooks for towels.

Review 36:The upgrade to a jr suite was very nice, the staff all super friendly, warm and informative. The cuisine and service staff for dinner was 5 star, the ice art amazing. We slept the best on those beds than all the other hotel beds on our stay. The owner was a delight to meet.

Review 37:Not much, it was perfect! Maybe a little expensive for us from the UK and US but the staff and facilities were just the best!

Review 38:The chef was amazing and very friendly. We definitely recommend booking dog sledding through the ice hotel as Trina who runs the company is lovely

Review 39:Menu was on the more expensive side.

Review 40:The staff were amazing! Wonderful food by an award chef. Ice Hotel was v special. Hot sauna & outdoor jacuzzi with a beer looking at the stars was just breathtaking! Local walks, snow mobiles & dog sledding arranged through hotel. Free transfers from Rica Hotel in Alta.

Review 41:Nothing really. I could say the room was cold, but hey, it's made of ice, so what would you expect.

Review 42:The hotel, made entirely of ice, is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is friendly and helpful and there's even room service of sorts. We were silly enough to stay in the -7 ice hotel with a four year old, but the provided pillows, sleeping bags and blankets made it all just fine. The next morning there is a sauna and a hot tub waiting for you and if you're lucky you'll have caught some northern lights as well. Pricy but totally worth it.

Review 43:didn't like the bear s head sticking out of the wall, i just felt sorry for the bear.

Review 44:it was like stepping into the movie the cronicles of nardia, the most jaw dropping experience of my life.loved it. loved christen the ice carver, just can't stop raving about it.

Review 45:The sleeping bags did not open right out . The light in the room was shining towards the bed. Maybecould be s little dimmer or shining towards the door.

Review 46:I liked the jaw dropping ice carvings the mist and the ambiance of whole place. Sooooooo amazing.food was excellent.

Review 47:It was an amazing experience staying at the Igloo hotel and the staff provided exceptional service. I would definitely go back there. A big thank you to all the staff there who went put of their way to assist us with our travels well beyond our stay at the Igloo Hotel.

Review 48:Set in beautiful countryside in Arctic Norway. The Igloo was a work ofart with ice sculptures everywhere. Inside the cavern is larger than Iexpected with an ice bar and a chapel. Beds are blocks of ice coveredwith reindeer skins. You take sleeping bags and pillows from the warmarea when you go to bed and are actually quite warm in spite of -4 temp. The experience is unique and wonderful. The warm area has sauna, showersetc, a great restaurant and serves a fantastic breakfast. A hotel Ishall never forget.

Review 49:What an amazing experience which should be on everyones bucket list of things to do once in your life. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was excellent

Review 50:No wifi

Review 51:Loved the ice hotel! Wonderful experience; can see the northern lightsfrom right outside the door; five course dinner was excellent value formoney! Lovely atmosphere. Sleeping in an icebed was an experience wewill never forget

Review 52:Staff is unfriendly and extrem careless - they just dont care about you It is totally Overpriced and - Except the experience of Sleeping in the ice - not worth the money

Review 53:lays wonderful in a pure Winter Dream Experience sleeping in and on ice

Review 54:Nothing

Review 55:The atmosphere was very good and the attention of the staff went beyond what you would normally expect. It was a truly wonderful experience. A big thank you to Ingred

Review 56:The 'welcoming' reception was a bit poor and lackingenthusiasm. Basic information was given and the 'tour' of thehotel was basically pointing at where the bathrooms, restaurant andleisure room were. Pointing at where the actual ice hotel was ratherthan giving us an enthusiastic tour of the main reason we were here! When wanting to buy a drink at the bar... We received a 'huff'and 'the girl was just there a minute ago'... Sorry toinconvenience u on our once in a lifetime trip to buy an overpricedshot of diluted vodka! Coffee and tea was on offer on a table nearreception at a price! Really? We just paid £500 for one night and westill have to pay for a small cup of coffee?

Review 57:The experience of staying in an ice hotel (something different andsurreal) with an opportunity of seeing the northern lights.

Review 58:the surroundings of Arctic Norway in winter are simply breathtaking. The staff are very friendly and the restaurant is superb. We slept very well in the igloo. However, the winter activities such as dog sledding and the snow mobile safari make it such a special experience

Review 59:This was a great experience; unique! We had a very good sleep in the cold hotel - and than sauna afterwards.

Review 60:The price would be too much for many people

Review 61:It was an amazing experience - one-in-a-lifetime - and very well done

Review 62:Sorrisniva igloo hotel was magical! Great service and a special experience.

Review 63:Just wonderful to sleep in -6c once in a life time experience, wonderful restaurant which had such a variety of dishes
