Reviews for Tate House

Review 1:Lovely cooked breakfast and really good location, right on a busy main road but must have very good double glazing as we could hardly hear the traffic (don't let main road put you off!) the treehouse restaurant is within walking distance and like a fairytale, well worh an evening visit due to its millions of twinkling fairy lights!

Review 2:Not a bad experience, just a bit noisy from the road. Quietened down after mid-evening, then started up again 7.30am ish. Not a major problem but perhaps double glazing needed?

Review 3:Excellent breakfast choice. Spacious room with comfy bed. First class shower room.

Review 4:Seemed very old fashioned to have to share a table at breakfast with other guests, would have preferred our own. Hardly saw the owner at any time. On main road, bit noisy

Review 5:Very nicely decorated and well equipped. Breakfast very good

Review 6:upon arrival we felt that it was an inconvenience for us to be there. The house was stiflingly hot so my wife had an asthma attack Little or no interaction from the owner The so called "garden view" was looking over the tiny raised deck at the back of the house On check out we were advised that we had to pay by cash or cheque, despite our paperwork saying they took credit cards

Review 7:Breakfast on the second morning

Review 8:There was absolutely nothing wrong with Tate House. It was perfect!

Review 9:The breakfasts were excellent. Leo was extremely welcoming. Nutella muffins provided one evening were delicious and a lovely touch. Local knowledge and expertise fantastic. We can;'t wait to return

Review 10:Excellent location just by the town centre and entrance to the castle and gardens. Super breakfast. Parking just across the road. Very clean and smart.

Review 11:3 rooms but only 2 tables at breakfast, meant you had to share and when the other guests were not english speaking it was really awkward at breakfast

Review 12:We stayed in room 1 and we were contacted by the owners as they were worried the room wasn't big enough for a 3 night stay. We were really happy with the room, it was cosy but totally fine for us, nicely decorated and clean.

Review 13:The only minus would be the slightly cramped breakfast area. As someone with the eating manners of a species only too recently introduced to civilisation I prefer not to share my table with strangers, mostly for their own good.

Review 14:The state of the place is impeccable; it looked as if it had been inaugurated the previous day. The owner is helpful, kind and a good chat. Although our bathroom was not adjacent to the room, it was still for our sole use and very spacious.

Review 15:We only had five days.

Review 16:Leo is a great host. Amiable helpful likeable and knowledgable. Alnwick is a beautiful base to explore a stunning part of Britain

Review 17:the bed was not to our liking, too low down and we found the wooden surround uncomfortable. However, we would come back again and just ask for another room!

Review 18:Location, breakfast, fantastic shower and products. Well stocked tea and coffee tray with lots of milk which was much appreciated and unlike other accommodation we have stayed in. Hosts were great, very welcoming sociable informative and helpful.

Review 19:Slight hiccup with the breakfast orders but that was easily sorted. (More my fault than theirs).

Review 20:Walking distance to town center, Barter Books, Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the restaurants. We had the back room which was small but quiet.

Review 21:Nothing! We would have liked an iron in the room.

Review 22:Leo is a warm and friendly host. The room was comfortable, clean and homely and the breakfast delicious.

Review 23:Rooms were adequate and comftable. Host was nice too. Bed nice and soft and comftable too giving you a nice nights sleep. Nicely located near town centre and not far away from Alnwick Gardens and Castle.

Review 24:Great location, friendly welcome, free parking, free wifi (useful for planning your activities), great facilities, what more do you want? Will be booking again.

Review 25:Felt the proprietor was not as friendly or professionally welcoming during our stay compared to many b&b's we have stayed at, often for less money.

Review 26:Great location and facilities as well as being very clean and tidy with a high standard of finish.

Review 27:Being overly critical, we did not put on the tv - it was positioned on a low-ish table in the window and would have been difficult to see, but we didn't miss it at all.

Review 28:We were very happy with everything at Tate House and would go again.

Review 29:Parking across the road, difficult to find entrances in the dark, very narrow. Debit & credit cards not accepted as stated by Booking.com.
