Reviews for Hôtel Du Viaduc
Review 1:Hotel is charming but not for those who want modern decor. Our toilet was down the hall from the room, but with sink and shower ensuite.
Review 2:Very friendly and helpful host. Location just a few minutes walk fromcenter and train station. Hotel is tricky to find, even though signs are well posted.
Review 3:When me and my partner arrived to the hotel, we found out that the staff doesn't speak a word in English. But it's ok, we are in France, they are not obliged to. I guess, I just trusted the information on the website too much. The receptionist/owner wrote down the sum we need to pay and gave us a tiny sticker note with 2 codes written on it. After returning to the hotel at 11pm I realised that I didn't have that little sticker anymore, I found it later glued to my passport, which I left at home. We managed to get inside the building with people who happen to come back at the same time. At that point I thought it's not a big deal, it's still a hotel, these things happen all the time, we can just call the emergency numbers and we'll be able to get into our room. But how frustrated was I when no one picked up and moreover I could hear the phones ring, cause they were left in the reception. I can't imagine if something much worse happened, what would we do. We tried to speak with people who live nearby, we even thought about getting in the room through our window. After couple of hours we gave up and went to sleep in the car. Around 7am the owner showed up, there was no explanation whatsoever why the emergency numbers do not work, no apologies, nothing at all. We had couple of hours of proper sleep before check-out and just before leaving we got a bottle of water from the owner as a sorry gesture. I was so dissapointed with the whole experience. After all I sent an official claim translated into French to the hotel, asking for explanation, but it was left unanswered. Which again tells about the level of professionalism. I can't tell you anything positive about this place, cause I even didn't have a chance to look at the room properly.
Review 4:The room was really too hot, hotter than outside (and it was 35°C outside), and we could not open the window because of the very bad smell of a factory nearby. The shower was randomly switching between super hot and super cold.
Review 5:Clean, and the location is good. Parking is available.
Review 6:The staff was so very helpful and made great restaurant and sight seeing recommendations. The price was great as well and the small town is conveniently located near Arles, Avignon & Nimes.
Review 7:* need to check in before 8pm which is not very convenient * no air conditioning despite very high temperature - needed to sleep with open window despite mosquitoes * could not leave the car on the parking the day following our night in this hotel while we visit the town * no fridge in the room
Review 8:* very central yet very quiet place * the family room has comfortable beds for kids * tables in front of the hotel so you can eat outside * breakfast was good
Review 9:The mattresses were a little hard and Tarascon is not a place that needs to be seen, that being said, it served our purposes, as we were just travelling through to another location.
Review 10:The price was right if you are on a budget and are just passing through... It is close to the centre of Tarascon which is easy to walk to...The staff was pleasant and helpful, the breakfast served was simple but nice.
Review 11:I hope the room can have more power outlet for charging phones and laptops. The WiFi signal was weak and timeout often.
Review 12:The staffs are wonderful. They really try their best to help you. Breakfast is nice too.
Review 13:A bit tired and rundown but for 49 euros you get what you pay for.
Review 14:Close to town. Friendly helpful host.
Review 15:Central location. Great staff. Good parking.
Review 16:Foppy shower head Door key pad
Review 17:Simple rooms Receptionist
Review 18:Housekeeping starts too early in the morning.
Review 19:Good location.
Review 20:lovely and quiet town,kindly owner,beautiful garden
Review 21:Clean well managed budget hotel in a good location
Review 22:The breakfast was boring. Flute, butter and jam, and coffee and a glass of juice was the only thing you got. It was not worth anything.
Review 23:We booked the room late and arrived after the reception was closed. Therefore, we were contacted by the receptionist that would ensure that we were coming. She was waiting for us and it was fine service. The room was ok for the price. We got the room, which was actually intended for disabled people. Thus, there was very good space in the room.
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:Staff is very friendly, very nice and comfortable room, nice garden.. Location is very good, close to all villages around. Parking is provided. Breakfast is okay.
Review 26:Smell bad of mould and moisture in room and bathroom,i had to sleep with open windows to can breathe.Small room, old furniture, dirty moquette, poor breakfast. 'The door' of bathroom was in fact a kind of paravan that didn't close completely. The wi-fi internet had fall down after 1 minute and didn't come back. I wished to come morning quickly to go out of there. With less money i stayed in very good conditions in other hotels of 3-4* in France.
Review 27:Nice paintings with Provence on the walls of room and lobby.
Review 28:The staff could learn some English...French is a beautiful languagebut not widespread spoken, and... Sign language...is mastered onlyby Italians!
Review 29:Good breakfast good position to visit the city good price goodatmosphere....
Review 30:Only thing missing was aircon, didn't bother us, just opened the window, ecofriendly!
Review 31:Clean, cheap, excellent base for exploring the greater area by car.
Review 32:Internet didn't work in the room. We got neither a fan nor an air-conditioning. The rooms are not much isolated and we heard some noisy neighbors late night and early morning. On the other hand, isolation from outside was very good.
Review 33:The cats in the parking lot, staff, location (both for Tarascon and for the region), (inside) parking looked safe, the whole atmosphere of the hotel was very nice.
Review 34:No aircon or even a fan in the room. Sleeping with the window open was fine until the nearby railway station started announcing at 6am!
Review 35:Convenient for the town centre. Free Internet was handy.
Review 36:Excellent location, both in the town and in the area. Good base to visit the Roman towns of Arles, Nimes and Orange; also train to Avingnon (and Nimes & Arles). Plenty of parking in hotel or oustide building. Hotel had information about local highlights and transport. Good restaurants in the town (5 mins walk from hotel) especially the "Terminus".
Review 37:This hotel was listed as 3 star. This is ridiculous - 2 stars, perhaps -but that's a stretch. The toilet was behind a flimsy folding door.Bathroom tiny. Bed adequate. There is no airconditioning, so it might beuncomfortable in hot weather. But, after recovering form the shock ofthinking it was 3 star, we found it a pleasant little place with verywelcoming owners. Be aware it is in a very odd location the other sideof the railway viaduct and you can't check in until after 1600h. .Although the initial appearance of the location is unattractive, it is,in fact, convenient - within short walking distance of the town center. Also it is very quiet except for the nearby train announcements. You caneven walk over the bridge into Beaucaire (about 20 minutes). Despitesome peoples' comments, we actually preferred Tarascon and there aresome nice sites to visit in both towns.
Review 38:It was inexpensive
Review 39:This is not about the hotel itself, but about inconvenience of train schedule. I selected the hotel for visiting Arles. However there are not so many trains for Arles. On the other hand, there are many enough trains for Avinyon and Nimes. Therefore, this hotel is convenient for travelers with cars, because the hotel is located between Arles, Avinyon and Nimes. A person traveling with train must check time table of trains in advance. Anyway, the hotel is recommendable for a guest with a car.
Review 40:The owners are kind although they can understand a few English. The room are very clean and comfortable enough. The gate has electronic lock, so guests can come back to the hotel any time, and can open the door by a code number. The surroundings are quiet enough, so you can sleep with opening a window in summer. The hotel is recommendable for a guest with a car.
Review 41:The only negative thing is a Tarascon town, which is not a holiday destination. It's a bit deserted and the only highlight is a castle. It's full of muslim men and kebab bufets. On our way out we've found out that nearby Beaucarie center looks much nicer. however... it's a great place from which you can do trips all around by car /to Arles, St Remy, Nimes, Orange...
Review 42:its definitely a good value for money... it's near train station but it's not very noisy... staff was nice and welcoming and there was no trouble at all. Wifi worked well and there was easy parking.
Review 43:What an enjoyable time I had at Hotel Du Viaduc! The owners were charming and friendly, eager to help make your stay as pleasant as possible. The room was immaculate and had all the necessities for comfort. Tarascon is not only a beautiful small town complete with castel, old world charm, and relaxing atmosphere, but it's also central to a lot of sites visitors will want to see--Nimes, the Pont du Garde, Van Gogh country (St. Remy and Arles) and lots of amazingly preserved Roman ruins. I'm already longing to go back. I feel it was a home away from home.
Review 44:It would have been nice to have a small refridgerator in the room so wecould keep cold water or drinks.
Review 45:It was a rather basic room, but considering the price, I would say thatit was definitely value for money. The staff were very friendly, especially the blonde lady on the reception desk. It was very nice tobuy things from the supermarket (less than 5 minutes walk from thehotel) and eat them whilst sitting at the outside terrace. The maidshung up some of our clothes when they cleaned the room. With the mistralwind, we did not need the fan in the room.
Review 46:The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel is very well located near the centre of Tarascon, which is surrounded by historic sites of interest. The room was clean, comfortable and attractive.
Review 47:Staff didn't really speak English. A few other minor details, but forthis price range - not worth mentioning.
Review 48:Very nice and cute place, modest, but stylish, decorated with style. Avery nice garden in front of the hotel and a private parking area. Niceand clean room. Free wireless connection that works very well. Goodlocation, only 5 min. Walk from the center of the town. Also Tarasconturned out to be a good location for exploring the surroundings.
Review 49:Room 0 is disability friendly on the ground floor and is very spacious. The courtyard is spacious and sunny in good weather. The receptionistsare helpful and friendly.
Review 50:We were given a very warm welcome from the staff member on reception, who is learning to speak English, and with our basic French, we managed to find out where local places were that we needed with no problems. We had our own car, and were pleased with the private parking provided. The room was simple, but comfortable, and kept very clean for us. We stayed four nights and found this a good base to explore the area around. We recommend this hotel for budget travelers who are looking for a clean, cheerful, and comfortable stay.
Review 51:This is a family run and very friendly hotel. Everything was clean and the staff very considerate and helpful. The local restaurants were also clean, friendly and of a high standard. Tarascon itself is part walled town, part up to date ville with a tree lined square and shops. It is ideally located as a base foe exploring Provence. We had a car but the hotel is very handy for the local train station and it would be possible to do day trips that way as well. The castle is a treat.
Review 52:Bathroom very small even if fully equipped. A piece of furniture to putclothes would be useful.
Review 53:Warm environment, staff is very kind and keen to help. Location ispretty convenient to visit the main attractions in Provence. Roomwas clean.
Review 54:Nice breakfast, good value for money. Good situation near city center, car parking on site.
Review 55:the warm and relaxing. Staff were great
Review 56:Bit tucked away - car is advisable
Review 57:Great value for money Friendly Staff Nice room Good location
Review 58:The location of the hotel was perfect, very nice and cozy
Review 59:Not the best location. Unkept area.
Review 60:Friendly staff
Review 61:Location, staff, room
Review 62:Pleasant surroundings,quiet,good parking,nice people,ideal
Review 63:Friendly welcome, lots of useful information, and central but veryquiet location
Review 64:hot during summer (no air conditioning), cracks on the wall, flies in the room
Review 65:The hotel is so clean and confortable .The price is reasonable !
Review 66:A handy base for visiting surrounding towns (Avignon, Arles, Nimes, Camargues etc.)
Review 67:Good location, very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 68:Clean, Friendly, Helpful, Quiet - a bargain
