Reviews for La Masure
Review 1:The setting is beautiful and the whole place very relaxing and natural. Our room was spacious and comfortable and breakfasts on the terrace were a great way to start the day. We had the very private swimming pool to ourselves most of the time and the grounds around the property were lovely. Silvie and Patrick made us feel so welcome and were friendly and helpful with Silvie trying hard to converse in English whilst we mostly failed with our efforts in French. We would love the return.
Review 2:The bed could use a softer mattress- otherwise, all is charming and comfortable.f
Review 3:Sylvie and Patrick make you feel like guests in their home. Breakfast on the terrace with the chickens..homemade jams and honey...fresh eggs! Delicious dinner with trumpet serenade by Patrick. Sylvie is very helpful with touring advice. Beautiful, quiet country setting near old town of Gemenos...near seaside villages of Cassis and Sanary and Marseilles
Review 4:Tout est parfait !
Review 5:Une très jolie maison bien équipée au coeur d'un magnifique jardin et une vue splendide de la terrasse. Sylvie et Patrick sont très accueillants.
Review 6:nothing
Review 7:Superb, quiet and peaceful location with a nice own garden and a cosy, genuine mansion surrounded by vineyards. The friendly, gracious and helpful hosts provides such a warm welcome and offers you such a good local wines and excellent terroir cuisine that you will never forget this location (you need to specify you take dinner in La Masure when making your reservation). Comfort of bed is excellent. La Masure is good for leisure as well for business travelers. It is close to Aubagne, not far from Aix-en-Provence and Marseille.
Review 8:My husband and I and his two brothers stayed overnight. I didn't make the booking and wasn't aware that the guest house has a loft but is actually one big room and the loft is accessible by steps that are more like a ladder than stairs. I have arthritis in my hips and was a little worried about the stairs. The guest house was a little cramped for 3 guys and one girl. :)
Review 9:This is a beautiful property. It looks and feels like a magical fairyland. Wooded with ornamental, aromatic and fruitbearing plants around the guest house, which is adorable. Quite comfortable. Secluded, rustic and charming. Definitely recommend.
Review 10:We would have felt more secure managing the ladder steps to the loft if there was a railing on the wall side. Two railings, one on each side, would help.
Review 11:We liked the location, the grounds, the design of such an unusual space - a pigeon coop! - the view, the peace and quiet. The hosts are marvelous: friendly, gracious, fun and helpful. Breakfast is extraordinary in an extraordinary dining room in an extraordinary home.
Review 12:WONDERFUL SPACIOUS ROOM, VERY COMFORTABLE AND THE OWNERS EXTREMELY ATTENTIVE.
Review 13:Cosy, respected privacy, pet friendly, safe. Close to the nice small towns on the see, as well as to mountain villages - lots to see and enjoy
Review 14:went dowhill from there, their dog roams free,no internet! Wasn't what promised
Review 15:In all honesty I cannot recommend this place. Our accommodations were ina very tiny, recently built cottage situated on a hill overlooking abusy road that produces constant traffic noise in the room even with thedoors and windows closed. This totally ruins any sense of being in thecountry. The main sleeping area is reached by a ladder that is extremelydangerous as you have to descend it facing forward and the steps areonly 3 or 4 inches deep and slope the wrong way. It is very precariousto bring the car into the property and requires extensive guidance fromthe owners which is all the more frustrating as they do not speak a wordEnglish - not exactly fun after driving all day to get there! We chosethis place on the strength of some of the reviews which were extremelymisleading. Having said all this, the owners have obviously tried tocreate a charming ambience and in spite of the problems we did manage tocook a nice dinner( it was off season and most of the local restaurantswere closed) and slept relatively well.
Review 16:Very little
Review 17:Very special place: nice garden, very welcoming hosts, breakfast consisting mostly of own products (vegetables, eggs, fruits), a small but nice swimming pool. Good value and also great place far from busy cities (small town with 5 cafes called Gemenos is just 20 minutes walk away).
Review 18:We liked everything.
Review 19:This is a very attractive, old property with lots of character. It is run by a lovely couple, Sylvie and Patrick, helped by Semi the dog and an assortment of chickens - fresh eggs every day. The grounds are very interesting and the secluded pool is excellent. There is no need to travel further in Provence, everything you hope to experience is right there at La Masure. We can`t wait to return.
Review 20:At first I was afraid of the dog which feeling proved to be my problem. The dog was friendly, liked to play and was used to customers.
Review 21:Beautiful, tidy, interesting place full with nice details that proved to be made with enthusiasm and good taste. The host-couple friendly. Kaunis, siisti, kiinnostava paikka maaseudulla lähellä Cassista ja Marseillea. Isäntäväki ystävällinen ja auttavainen.
Review 22:The owners, Patrice and Sylvie, were fun and wonderfully friendly. They put up with our attempts at French with good humour. The gardens are absolutely lovely and our one night stay was too short. The room was delightful and the breakfast superb. Great value for money considering the quality of the accomodation, the fod, the ambiance and the welcome.
Review 23:It is not easy to get there.
Review 24:La Masure is like a hidden treasure - it is difficult to find but it worth it. Nice, comfortable, clean and friendly. Good place to stay and enjoy Provence.
Review 25:We had some difficulties finding it, the signage could have been better. The gps couldn't locate it either.
Review 26:Loved the ambiance, the room, the view, excellently furnished. The hostfamily was wonderful, gave us a nice tour.
Review 27:very friendly, beautiful surround and very clean
Review 28:Very nice place with beatiful room and garden, very taste breakfest and very friendly hostess. Thank you, Silvia and Patrick!
