Reviews for Hôtel de la Plage
Review 1:Very strong smell in the hallway that they use for deodorizer (some people like myself have sensitivities to strong smells) Pillows are very thin, bed was not very comfortable.
Review 2:The location of this property is excellent, one street up from the water. Lots of great places to eat and some right on the boardwalk. Staff were excellent and the breakfast perfect.

Review 5:Very clean and cozy, family run hotel. Nicely decorated rooms, ours had a partial sea view. Good location, very close to the beach and not noisy. Bathroom was on a small side, but clean and modern. Highly recommended.
Review 6:Great location, close to the beach and a 15min walk from the centre. Free and widely available parking spots next to the hotel! The room was very clean, cosy and with the softest bed we enjoyed during our trip in Normandy! The staff was very friendly and really helpful in finding fun places to eat and activities. Would definitely recommend!!

Review 12:Bars restaurants nearby, beach also nearby. Owners of hotel very friendly and speaks good english, bery helpfull.
Review 13:the door to the bathroom is a very thin sliding door that does not provide a maxium of privacy.
Review 14:It's not in St Malo itself, and getting to the city centre is a 30 minute walk along the beach The location is great though. Make sure you get a room with a small French balcony because from there you can see the sea

Review 16:Near to the beach, lovely couple running the place, would recommend

Review 39:easy walk to plague. lots of good restaurants. excellent breakfast, small room but everything you needed.
Review 40:I did not like the bed. It was a bit too short for me and too soft.
Review 41:Great location near the beach, the palais & chapel and the restaurant district. Nice people, no fuss, clear and helpful. Free parking in the streets and parking lots. Simple but effective rooms.
Review 42:The breakfast is correct for the price but could be improved (it could include fresh fruits & yogurt for example).
Review 43:The hotel location is perfect: close to the sea & not far from city centre. The sea view was pleasant as well as the room: quite small but clean & renovated recently.
Review 44:The bread at breakfast was not really good.
Review 45:The pitched room was really nice and clean. The staff is really nice and helpful. The sight from the room is not really in front of the beach, but it is not really a problem.
Review 46:Just one plug to recharge electronic devices
Review 47:Good location very close to the beach and several restaurants; simpleand basic clean room; typical French breakfast
Review 48:We liked everything! The stuff - wonderfull, very helpfull, friendly. Breakfast - good,cofe/tea, juice, croissant, buns, jam's. Location - just about 200-300 hundred metters from the sea and the beach. Parking - outside the hotel in the streets, we found very easy, near the hotel and it was free. The room - clean, nice. A little bit small, but it's no big deal. And we had room with the sea view.
Review 49:There is no offroad parking nearby, but there is parking on the street which is also fine if you're not to fussy.
Review 50:Very friendly owners, who were very enthousiastic to give us tips for restaurants and activities, even though we only stayed one night while traveling through Normandy. We stayed in the familyroom, with one double and 1 bunkbed. The room had a tiny, though functional and clean (so important) bathroom. The toilet was shared and on the hall, but just as clean. From the window we could see the beach (pebbles) and sea! Despite our stay was short it was really good!
Review 51:My daughter and I loved the cleaneliness of the hotel, especially thelinnen in our room. I have been in many hotels (was an airhostess for 15years and have never used a bath because of bacterial infections). Thiswas the first hotel I had a bath. We loved our 'dotty'room withseaview. The location of the hotel was very good, not on the busyboulevard but just one street behind and therefor more quiet, howeveronly a few metres walk and you were on the seaside terrasses and thebeach. We appreciated the friendliness and helpfulness of the receptionstaff and their relaxed manners, no stress but always time for a littlechat. The breakfast room looked very cosy and the breakfast plentyfullalthough we had breakfast elsewhere due to our schedule. I willdefinitely come back here. ( While unpacking the suitcase at home Irealized I had stolen a towel from your hotel. We had taken a smallwhite towel ourselves and I assumed the one on my daughters bed was oursand put it in our suitcase. When I come back I will take the stolentowel back with with me.)
Review 52:More of a guest house than a hotel! Drab interior &requires updating. Bar was closed when we returned back at 10pm. No drink or access to water, no tea making in room!
Review 53:The restaurant next door. Did provide extra pillows requested.
Review 54:No lift to the third floor and cost of breakfast so we smuggled some croissants in and then had a nice lunch somewhere as there were 5 of us.
Review 55:The staff were very friendly and arriving at 12.30 am was no problem. Very comfy beds and very clean room. We had a family room for 4 which easily fitted a travel cot too. Also had a table and chairs. Sea view was a nice surprise.
Review 56:Finding somewhere to park and the individual colour schemes that our room had, took some getting use to!.
Review 57:Central location, La Grillade restaurant around the corner did good food at a reasonable price. Breakfast was good, but basic.
Review 58:location was excellent, the double room was a bit on the small size, but was endurable, clean, quiet, it was a nice stay though, close to the beach and good restaurants.
Review 59:hard to find anything I didn't like...
Review 60:Right from the start the staff was incredibly welcoming. I showed up drenched from the rain and instantly felt at home. Most comfortable hotel bed I've stayed in, and less than a block from the beach.
Review 61:The hotel is not for xxxl folks. We had no problem, but could see itwould be an issue for some. Nothing to do with the hotel, but the twomuseums and the Benedictine Palace were closed for"rennovations". It seems Fecamp must be closely checked if oneplans on seeing their famous sites.
Review 62:Exceptionally neat, clean, and hospitable. Being off season, we had noproblem with parking, but imagine this could be an issue in high season.Easy to get about. Not on the beach, but only a block off. Nicebreakfast. Very supportive, friendly, helpful owners.
