Reviews for The Dubrovnik Hotel

Review 1:Staff extremely welcoming on arrival and during stay, always willing to help and talk to you. Breakfast very good, tasty and good sized meal, always look forward to the meal whenever we visit, sets up the day. Thankyou everyone for a great stay.

Review 2:Room was really cold. Was provided with small heater on request which did help. Very noisy due to a big rowdy party in. Having to argue over the deal I'd paid for. When I showed my proof they reluctantly allowed me to have the food I'd booked as an add on but it soured my experience.

Review 3:Location was great for my needs. Wifi connection was OK but couldn't work as too cold and noisy. Bar staff were very friendly. Comfortable bed. Excellent cleanliness.

Review 4:Rooms cold and beds uncomfortable. Breakfast seemed to have been kept warm for a while. Had stayed here before and was a disappointment this time.

Review 5:It was near our family gathering

Review 6:petty bits really...lighting in bedroom not fab and cover for bathroom fan was on unit top rather than on ceiling, as I said rather petty but honest.

Review 7:friendly staff, great breakfast, outside covered area to smoke.

Review 8:The staff were fantastic especially a lovely chap called Ned... Really clean room and bathroom... Would defo recomend it to anyone looking to stay in the area!

Review 9:The location of the hotel was a little run down. I feel this is the area and not the hotels fault. I was staying in the area for a particular reason and the hotel was value for money, comfortable and clean.

Review 10:The staff made every effort to get me something to eat even though the kitchen was closed on my arrival. Thankyou

Review 11:Tv didn't have all the promised chanels.

Review 12:Staff were brilliant, very friendly and efficient. Food was lovely too. All I needed for my one night stay. Great car parking facilities.

Review 13:when i checked into the room noticed the toilet had phlegm down it. The room takes a while to warm up as it only has electric heaters. When i took a shower the water nearly burnt me! Thsts how hot it was... Very poor bathroom facilities..when drying my hair the hairdryer was not working... Very disappointed with the overall service.

Review 14:Quiet location

Review 15:Firstly when we got there they said they hadn't any rooms left even though we booked with you so they had to find a room.Secondly one of the pictures on booking.com of the hotel looks like a stately home on its private land but when got there it was an old house up a side road.Thirdly the heating wasn't on.Forthly they locked the doors at night so at 5am people where banging and screaming for 2 hours trying to get in so I had to call the hotel number to tell them to open the door to the people as I couldn't sleep.Fifth reason I asked for a double room and they had pushed the 2 single beds together which kept seperating.

Review 16:The breakfast

Review 17:The staff were so helpful and went out of their way to assist me. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They carried my bags and moved rooms for my disabled mother. All done with a great sense of humour. I would highly recommend this family hotel.

Review 18:The Breakfast room could have been better organized. No one was there to take your order for breakfast. you had to stop the person bringing out cooked meals and order. The person next to me ordered Poached eggs on toast what she got was a full breakfast. Need organizing better.

Review 19:The staff were very helpful. organized a taxi for me and even got me some food as I intended to go out early before the Restaurant was open in the evening at 7pm.

Review 20:Breakfast this year wasn't as good as previous!!

Review 21:We have stayed here for the last 2 years whilst attending Bingley Fest. Great location and great staff.

Review 22:Owner took ages to deal with my check in - trying to serve 5 people at a time doesn't work. I was late to check in (9pm) and early to check out (6.30am). Owner seemed to think this was very unusual and made me feel as though I was causing a problem. Hotel is like a rabbit warren, room numbering not always clear and difficult to get out in the morning when front doors were locked as had to walk around the whole hotel to drop keys then go to exit.

Review 23:Free wifi. Room was fine.

Review 24:Bathroom smelt and did not look very clean. Towels had stains and felt like they had been used. The room is in a need of TLC a bit run down. Disappointing as it was highly recommended by relatives that always stay here.

Review 25:The bar

Review 26:It was terrible, I would of slept better in a prison cell, the bed feltlike a diving board, the room was cold I ended up sleeping in a jumper, the tv had vertical coloured lines going through it. There was no 24staff available, the manager does not care about his/her customersdidn't care when I told him how poor my room was, when I emailed themthey did not bother replying back. I would choose somewhere better forthe price you pay its not worth it at all.

Review 27:Room was a bit dusty in the corners and bathroom not cleaned every day.

Review 28:Absolutely excellent standard of room for a 3 star hotel - spacious and great furnishings. Very pleasantly surprised.

Review 29:The pizza wasn't great.

Review 30:Staff were great. Super friendly and lovely to chat with throughout our stay. most of the food was really good home cooked food. Really tasty and recommended - Pizza - I don't think was homemade - just give that one a miss and have the carbonara instead as it was lovely. Very good value all round.

Review 31:A great hotel - I'd definitely recommend it. The main car park was full but reception gave us the code for the lower car park. There is a lovely park and Cartwright Hall nearby and a Thai restaurant, Italian and decent pub about a 10-15 minute walk away.

Review 32:Bed in superior room could have been King Size!

Review 33:Lovely experience, staff were so friendly and helpful. Superior room was lovely - great value for money!

Review 34:Staff member called family in Eastern Europe using Skype in corridor outside our room at 2300 hrs. It was obviously a poor connection judging by the shouting by both sides. -0

Review 35:Nice safe part of town.

Review 36:Excellent Food and rooms were clean and spacious. Lots of Free parking and WIFI in hotel is very good. All that a traveller on Business can ask for!!

Review 37:The hotel is pleasant but we wouldn't walk round this area after dark.

Review 38:We turned up after a 6 hour drive up the M1 to a very kind welcome from the staff although a noisy end of term teachers' party was going on. It was a case of if you can't beat them join them - so we had a few drinks in the bar. The noise was turned just before midnight and we were not disturbed during the night. The staff were great throughout our weekend stay. The bottom car park, which was behind a gate, was opened for us when we asked.

Review 39:(a) Hot water took a very long time to come through (b) limited dining out locally so tried the in house restaurant, waited 20mins only to be told that as I hadn't pre booked would have to wait another 20mins despite there only being 6 people dinning. (c) poor choice of TV channels

Review 40:Generous size superior room with good bath and walk in shower, good breakfast.

Review 41:A very traditional yet sizeable hotel, every effort is made to take care of your needs. The decor is a little old fashioned but it is clean and great value for money.

Review 42:Friendly helpful staff, fast internet, comfortable and large bedroom, nice breakfast. Arrived exhausted after a long week, the check-in staff we're great and provided me with crockery & cutlery so i could order a take away to eat in my room. Very understanding.

Review 43:Although I had booked a double room we were only offered a twin on arrival. I had booked a double room for one person by mistake so i was required to pay for breakfast for my partner but the continental breakfast advertised was non existent and a vegetarian cooked alternative contained no quorn sausages or mushrooms.

Review 44:The hotel itself was in a good location for what we needed which was to be on the outskirts of Bradford. The room and bathroom were very clean.

Review 45:As it was a family run hotel, they made me feel very welcome. The food was amazing and cooked to perfection. This is definitely a hotel that I would recommend to anyone visiting Bradford.

Review 46:Having arrived later thanks to terrible traffic the chef stayed on to cook us a meal with the full menu at our disposal. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 47:The bed was not very comfortable. The breakfast lacked fruit and pastries as it advertised but this may have been that a coach party was there and we were asked to have our breakfast after they had gone. Maybe they had run out of certain food items.

Review 48:the staff were very nice and always ready to help. The hotel was very clean and tidy. The hotel was not on a main road so it was nice and quiet.

Review 49:Smelly room (no. 42). Bad bed. No remote to TV. Only one set of towels, but we were 2. Very noisy room, could hear everything going on. Breakfast was very poor, would never pay £10 for it (no yogurts, no fruit, not muffins or croissants. Very simple.

Review 50:Cheap

Review 51:Having to pay the moment we arrived. First bedroom had no heating and the bed was like lumpy mashed potato. Bathrooms very tired and small

Review 52:Staff very helpful. After they changed our room it was better

Review 53:Terrible night was had, no sleep until after half four in the morning due to a very loud party only Doors away from our room !!!!!!!!! .we did however get our money back.

Review 54:Somewhere quiet and serene and quite local too.enjoyed the theme night for valentines.

Review 55:Inadequate heating in the room making it very cold, not enough bedding either. We arrived back at 1am, nobody on reception so we just walked straight in, we could have been anyone!

Review 56:Good breakfast, coffee and friendly lady in the dining room. Plenty of secure parking.

Review 57:Did not offer alternative for someone with special dietary requirements,

Review 58:Was warm, not comfortable, staff on night super, staff next morning miserable and unhelpful

Review 59:It was confused over breakfast about payment, saying £12.00 each I knew I pay for it then must pay by cash then later I can pay by card that all.

Review 60:Room nice easy to park.

Review 61:Bed was firm, bordering on hard. Looking a little dated. Requested more toast at breakfast, but was told "sorry the chef has gone home "

Review 62:Friendly helpful staff

Review 63:Warm welcome from front desk on arrival. All staff very helpful and welcoming. Great Hotel, will always use venue when visiting Bradford. Thankyou Dubrovnik

Review 64:Its like going back to the 80's, the public areas are in serious need of updating. The evening menu is pretty limited. The general atmosphere of the place is very old fashioned.

Review 65:Location was goo, and the staff were fairly helpful. The breakfast was nice.

Review 66:No complaints!

Review 67:The staff were polite, good humoured and 'on the ball' Bar was well stocked and reasonable Restaurant very good Able to relax and have a laugh

Review 68:This is a very comfortable family owned hotel and as a consequence has much of the character found lacking in the big chains of hotels. Staff were friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Room was extremely comfortable with good quality bed and bedding and scrupulously clean. Individually prepared full English breakfast or continental option available to start the day from 7am. Hotel location provides straightforward access to Leeds-Bradford airport. Will certainly consider using again when flying from Leeds-Bradford.

Review 69:There is no wifi in room as advertised only in reception/bar area. Bit out of the town. Younger family members were running about restaurant. No 1/2 bottles of wine.

Review 70:Staff were very friendly. Food was reasonable. Good choice of wine. Comfortable beds.

Review 71:I just stayed one night.

Review 72:Everything! Nice family hotel with great customers skills. Spectacular place to rest or party. Excellent breakfast in a reserved table for all of you. Parking space with closed gates. Bar. Event room. Wi-Fi. TV.

Review 73:The maintenance of the rooms can be improved: everything was very clean, so no major complaint, but in one of our two rooms the shower simply needs some new pieces.

Review 74:The people were nice, the place is charming. We were there to attend a match of the Bantams (Bradford City) for which it is a perfect location. Lister Park across the street is also a very nice location.

Review 75:We just stayed just the one night before travelling to Leeds-Bradford airport early the next morning. Our stay was excellent as were the staff, very helpful, especially the gentleman in reception that evening (8/7/14)

Review 76:I did not get a room as shown on the internet, it was more like 1* not 3*. The room I had was in need of decoration, tatty furniture and the view from the window was of a roof and that is all we could see. Nobody came into replenish the coffee making facilities or bathroom products on a Sunday and so we were left to sort that out ourselves.

Review 77:The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 78:Waited 40 minutes for order to be taken for dinner. No drinks either. Food arrived 35 minutes after ordering. No-one on reception for departure. Then had to pay cash, because credit card facility was unavailable.

Review 79:Friendly, helpful receptionist on arrival. Value for money. Good food at dinner (if a little overpriced) Gluten free food provided. Provided early breakfast, because many guests were setting off early to Tour de France.

Review 80:Overall everything. Very clean, comfortable and helpfulness of staff.

Review 81:In the room there was no large chair to relax and the heating came on and off

Review 82:The breakfast was very good quality

Review 83:Rooms tired, old style heating (need room card).
