Reviews for Auberge de la Halle
Review 1:The room we believed we booked on booking.com was described as a beautifully appointed renovated medieval suite and the pictures we saw had us excited. What we got was a tired, run down, drab, dated and thoroughly disappointing room which put a complete dampener on the end of our trip.
Review 2:PARKING IN CORDES IS A NIGHTMARE!!!!!! No parking for bikes and cars absolutely forbidden. It's best to park in Les Cabannes and leave your car there for 3 days but that means climbing the hill 4 times a day and twice with luggage!!!!!
Review 3:FRIENDLY AND WELL POSITIONED HOTEL
Review 4:I was on bicycle and the city of Cordes-sur-ciel is really on the top (close to the ciel!)
Review 5:The room is inside of an historical building with a nice view of the all area. The room is really a medieval one!!
Review 6:The staff were not helpful. They were very busy running a restaurant and were often not available to offer assistance when needed. The man who works there is quite unfriendly.
Review 7:The view was amazing!
Review 8:Excellent rustic French hotel in the most amazing beautiful place. The owners cannot do enough for you. Get room 1 if you can with a view over the square and soak up the atmosphere. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Review 9:I stayed 2 nights and they did not clean/replenish my room. The place closes around 6 p.m. There are gates to seal off the entire first floor - except for a pathway to the door. I had a key to let myself out. Breakfast didn't start until 8:45 and it was only a basket of bread
Review 10:The room was very large with great views of the surrounding countryside. I got the full "sur ciel" effect the first morning
Review 11:No tea or coffee making facilities even though there are several areas that a communal position for this are available . No hot drinks from 7 at night until 8.30 in the morning . Breakfast a bit basic .
Review 12:Position and history of this place ,nice staff.
Review 13:the beds need to be replaced as does the shower it is gor these things that our review is not better
Review 14:Excellent location but parking some distance away.
Review 15:Parking is difficult because the Auberge is in the centre of the medieval city and cars need to be left a distance from the hotel but we were fine on a motorbike!
Review 16:Huge room with lots of character and an amazing view. Dinner and breakfast both good and very good value all round.
Review 17:No complaints.
Review 18:Good value for money. Helpful staff and the restaurant has won awards. The room was on the 3rd floor so we had a good view of the town and afternoon sun. The staff helped with our bags. The room was large and although we were on the Square everyone everyone had headed home by about 11pm so we had a quiet sleep.
Review 19:Lack of wifi but we did know that and understand that this is a protected village which means no transmitters within a certain distance.
Review 20:The owner was very helpul and informative about the region and sent us to some magical places. Location was at the highest point of the village with wonderful views, the room was clean, very spacious and comfortable.
Review 21:All superb .
Review 22:The location once you got there was superb, but it is a steep climb up cobbled streets. If driving take the turning in the village itself, opposite the shops, rather than following the satnav, you can then park nearer the top and walk through the archway. The square opposite the hotel has a lovely atmosphere and it is worth the visit. We stayed in the enormous top room, good facilities, the room is up a steep spiral staircase, wonderful views very quiet, but only for the able. It is a big enough room for a family, two put you ups available, but staircase not for toddlers.all facilities in the room at the top, ensuite.
Review 23:You cannot park on the old town (fine for me), and you have to pay parking (3.5 euros per day). It's not that bad, just to write something.
Review 24:- Friendly staff -Good location, right at the center of the old town - huge room - cleanliness
Review 25:no complaints
Review 26:Spectacular location, in a medieval tower at the top of the famous bastide city of Cordes sur Ciel. Pleasant in-house restaurant.
Review 27:parking was a nightmare; park at bottom of hill and walk up three times a day
Review 28:good central friendly traDITIONAL very oicturesque touristy
Review 29:Everything else: the staff, the room, the total lack of service
Review 30:The location

Review 32:nothing
Review 33:Location and room
Review 34:Wonderful hotel in the centre of Cordes. Friendly staff offering great service. Lovely clean bedroom with terrific views. Highly recommended.
Review 35:The modern spot lighting wasn't in keeping with the character of the room.
Review 36:The history of the town and the building
Review 37:Food was average
Review 38:We had the top room wth fantastic views and a canopied bed. It made the climb up worthwile
Review 39:Superb location, both rooms were excellent - the one in the tower was especially quirky and the views were stunning.
Review 40:Avoid 15th August. It is the big fete day and they play country dance music right outside till 3 a.m.!
Review 41:Difficult access and parking. Definitely not for those with limited mobility
Review 42:The spacious room, large beds, quiet, beautiful views
Review 43:Breakfast not worth €7,90
Review 44:Nice view Nice decoration
Review 45:As we were there in off-season, there was no-where to eat breakfast up in the town, not a reflection on the Inn, just not convenient.
Review 46:A lovely large room, very clean and comfortable, in a great location.
Review 47:Nothing was wrong.
Review 48:The hotel is on tpo of the hill in the midle of this exeptional fortified town - be prepered to walk. I stayed in top room with accsess trough narrow spiral staicase. The room was spacious with two windows on each side - great view good for tired eyes from staring to computer screen ...and for soul too. A separate bathroom and toilet, all amenities, hairdryer, big sink, shawer, shelfs, hooks, mirrors, strong light. Great breakfest, very good service, friendly staff. Very good relaxing quiet atmospher in spring time before a summer turist season.
Review 49:Staying in a medieval town in a medieval tower room with two viewpoints from the room was lovely. Situation in the centre and right at the top of the hill opposite place de la halle, you couldn't get more central in Cordes sur ciel.
Review 50:A bit pricy, but I guess it was due to the location. New mattresses would be good. They are not as comfortable.
Review 51:Cordes is a magical place, and this hotel is located at the heart of it. We were treated very well by the staff there. The owner was very helpful and a nice person to meet. The view is superb. It is the tallest point in town. And the room we had had its charm.
Review 52:BEDS ARE HARD
Review 53:We really enjoyed this chambers d'hote. The food is very traditionally French. Just one reservation about the lovely bedrooms. They would be more comfortable if the beds were fitted with mattress toppers.
Review 54:Steep stairs to our room were not a problem for us but would have been impossible for a person with limited agility.
Review 55:I loved staying in the tower of a 13th century tower and the friendliness of the people.
Review 56:Gentle, but reduced staff. Breakfast available only after 08:30 No internet connections in rooms.
Review 57:Beautiful room with all facilities Clean and comfortable. Although we did not eat at restaurant, it seems to be one of the best in town.
Review 58:Nothing
Review 59:Comfortable room with fabulous view. When we woke up we were in sunshine above the clouds, the perfect exp erience for a visit to the city in the sky. Owner very helpful and friendly. Building was ancient but very well kept and comfortable.
Review 60:We hade written in the booking that we arrived late then 19.00 Atrive around 21.00 When we came gjey sad we were to late and were just lucky they had not closed down. If there are such special times for arrivial it shoulf br marked very clearly at booking. com that it is NOT possible to arrive later.
Review 61:Need for a electric kettle in the room.
Review 62:Warm, friendly welcome. Comfortable, adequate facilities. Great location from which to tour the regions of the Midi Pyrenees. Very good restaurant at the accommodation and others also nearby. Steeped in history. Good local shopping.
Review 63:parking was some way below the hotel so we left our cases in the car and walked up with a small backpack
Review 64:The friendly atmosphere, a bath in the bathroom, being located in the centre of Cordes Sur Ciel
Review 65:It was difficult at first to find the hotel and then locate staff, but the neighbours were very helpful and the proprietor was excellent when we found him.
Review 66:Spacious rooms, fabulous views, location, enthusiasm of staff and people in this wonderful walled town.
Review 67:some of the bed linen which was clean needed ironing
Review 68:Location good

Review 73:Spacious room with stupendous view
Review 74:Lovely atmospheric rooms with fan-tastic views over the countryside particularly early in the morning.
