Reviews for Les Belles Perdrix de Troplong Mondot

Review 1:staff seemed undertrained, heat didn't work very well, amenities were not up to level of luxury price tag. Atrocious music on infinite loop in restaruant!

Review 2:Great location, charming cottage, friendly staff, excellent dinner and breakfast.

Review 3:n/a

Review 4:The location was great - close to St. Emilion (we could walk) and right on the vineyard. Our room was excellent; very comfortable and spacious. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 5:Our room was kind of dark, looked out at parking lot. We really only slept there. Not much to do No wine tastings at the vineyard

Review 6:Very restful location. Beautiful countryside. St Emilion is a beautiful area, facility was about 2 miles from town Breakfast was very good Bathroom and shower were great, very modern.

Review 7:Rooms a bit dark. Funny smell in one of the bedrooms A map might be helpful to find the cottage at night

Review 8:Stating in the vineyard cottage was amazing. The Sommelier at dinner was especially helpful and charming

Review 9:Our room was beautiful and the grounds of the Chateau were astounding. We had dinner at the Chateau and it is really top notch but be prepared to spend a considerable amount of money. We had our very best meal in France at the Chateau. Location is within walking distance of St. Emilion.

Review 10:Beautiful location in the vineyards with a view of the garden, the vineyards and with St. Emilion in the horizon. Very comfortable room in relaxing surroundings.

Review 11:The suite of rooms had a kitchen but no facilities except for coffee and tea. No milk was provided for either. The suite was perfect for two but as there was only one bathroom and wc if both bedrooms were occupied it could be a problem.

Review 12:The location, the pool, the restaurant and the suite of rooms.

Review 13:The WiFi was very poor; the speed was slow and the connection was lost more times than it was operating. Guests are charged to take the chateau tour. Its only a small charge, so why isn't it complimentary for guests?

Review 14:The location of the cottage, in the middle of a vineyard, is magical. Its only a short and pleasant walk into the village.

Review 15:Only thing that could have been improved on was perhaps the lunch offered at the pool.

Review 16:Fabulous chateau in an amazingly idillic location over looking vineyards and the beautiful St emillion. Was a lovely 20 minute stroll into St emillion through the vineyards which was a lovely suprise.

Review 17:To get to the Chateau was a mess. Had asked the management about taxi or pick up service from Saint Emilion station, was told it was easy as we could call a cab from the taxi booth. It turn out there was no taxi booth at all. We had to drag our suitcases up the hill until we reached the plaza and found someone help calling the Chateau. Then, they sent a car to pick us up. That's pretty lucky, coz the road up to the chateau with the suticases dragging on the pebble path was impossible, esp we were there in June, under the sun. To make thing easier, rent a car or get off at nearby Libourne train station and jumped onto a cab would be fine. Everything, include the bottle of water, in the cottage we stayed at need to be paid for. And it is forbidden to bring any outside drinks and food into the room. Considering the price of the room, we found this policy quite ridiculous.

Review 18:The cottage itself is nice, relaxing and comfy, We woke up in the fresh air with vinyard surrounding us. Pool is clean and nice. We had nice dinner in their outdoor setting plus breakfast in the main dinning room, both were great. Joined their wine tasting tour, it was ok. The walk down to the town of Saint Emilion took us 25 mins, but was lovely since we just wondering in between the vinyard. Wifi was fast. The location of the Chateau itself is good but to get there is pretty difficult without a car.

Review 19:No reception when we arrived and hotel didnt ask if we need lunch considering they help arranged our arrival at lunchtime, had a unsatisfactory "snacking" menu lunch

Review 20:Everything except lack of reception

Review 21:only issue is the lack of ability to sleep securely with fresh air. In the room we had, one would have had to leave patio door open to get air, and this would not be secure....

Review 22:Almost everything: beautiful setting, comfortable bed, pretty views of St Emilion, amazing shower! pool, restaurant, breakfast. Generally a wonderful location/property and a great stay

Review 23:The peace and quiet of the chateau and its gardens were so restful, but with the town of St Émilion in sight. Céline did a wonderful job recommending wines and arranging our Carte Blanche dinner

Review 24:A little far from town. It's a nice walk through the vines but a little far to do it more than once a day. 25 mins or so.

Review 25:Gorgeous view of the vineyards. Wonderful (but expensive) dinner. Staff were wonderful!!

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:The accomodation (the cottage in the vineyards) we watched big beautiful horses ploughing the vineyard The friendly english speaking staff always ready to help The fabulous restaurant on the premises The proximity to Saint Emilion-you can walk to this medieval village.Do it!

Review 28:Nothing.

Review 29:Absolutely everything, first class bed comfort. Outstanding bathroom, biggest shower, wet area. Clarins products. Fantastic breakfast, everything made on the estate. Restaurant experience is a must. Outstanding food quality.

Review 30:We stayed for our 'mini moon' and the staff went out of their way to accommodate and treat us, including giving us a private wine tasting on a bank holiday.

Review 31:Slow and unstable WiFi (not their fault but Livebox).

Review 32:We stayed in the Double Room and Vineyard house. Facilities-wise both are very good. Breakfast is very nice too (continental style).

Review 33:restaurant rather expensive and you have to pay 4 euros extra for eggs otherwise it's a continental breakfast. Bit surprising considering the stay was not cheap in the first place

Review 34:Friendly staff who showed us around the vineyard and their production. Lovely large room in cottage with own front door entrance super-efficient wifi, very comfortable bed and good bathroom facilities with clarins products

Review 35:EVERYTHING extra is paid for (nespresso pods, tea bags, bottled water) Advertised with fireplace, although not actually able to light it due to alleged insurance reasons

Review 36:Cottage was beautiful Spacious Great location Great bathrooms

Review 37:My wife and I, experienced travelers, stayed in the Vineyard House for 2 nights on our way to the Dordogne (where we stayed at Chateau de la Treyne). We thoroughly enjoyed Les Belles Perdrix and highly recommend it. A great value. Easy walking distance to St. Emilion center. And, whether you are staying here or not, be sure to have dinner at the restaurant. It is absolutely first rate.

Review 38:Having to leave.

Review 39:Everything. Location is amazing, looking across vineyards to St. Emilion. Staff were exceptional--given only three rooms, very personalized attention. Always willing to help. Food was fabulous. A truly gourmet dinner in a beautiful setting, breakfasts were the best we had all trip. Our lodgings were in a sensational cottage in the middle of the vineyard and had every amenity.

Review 40:Having to leave :(

Review 41:Great location, 15 min walk to St Emilion town. Gorgeous outlook, superb food and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. Room was very generous, plenty of space and staff were exceptional.

Review 42:No tea & coffee in the room and no where to get any if therestaurant is closed in the evening.

Review 43:Vineyard & chateau setting and lovely classy room. Fabulous Frenchrestaurant, dinner & wine. Luxury stay with B&B price. Walk tothe quaint village (15 mins) Lovely pool area. Very private

Review 44:Ask for the cottage in the vines! Two lovely rooms, a comfortable gathering space, and an absolutely enchanting setting with the spire of St. Emillion in sight and grapes all around. A wine lover's dream.

Review 45:Slippers would have been nice to wander around the spacious rooms but this is hardly a negative, just a suggestion

Review 46:Beautiful grounds, stunning, thoughtfully decorated rooms (we stayed in the Workshop Rooms for 3 nights and the Vineyard Cottage for 1 night), amazing pool, lovely walk through the vineyards to the village, fantastic restaurant. We did not want to leave.

Review 47:The pool area is amazing. Parking is plenty which is really handy in this area and the staff went above and beyond, more so than at the 5 star hotels we stayed at. They even have Riedel glass ware in the rooms!

Review 48:We recently stayed to Troplong Mondot on a trip through the Bordeaux region, and it was by far our favorite property. The staff was incredibly helpful, booking our dinners each night and setting up our chateau visits. On our last morning, we had to depart early to make a tasting on the Left Bank, and the staff was kind enough to pack a breakfast for us to go. The property is incredibly quiet and serene, and the views overlooking the town of St. Emilion are breathtaking. Though the property isn't located in town like many of the other hotels, we enjoyed the 20-minute walk through the vineyards to reach it. Lastly, if you do go, be sure to spend at least one night dining on-site. Go early, have a glass of wine, and enjoy the back patio area with sweeping vineyard views. It was by far one of the best meals of the trip.

Review 49:This place is so picturesque! We were traveling with another couple and had such an amazing time. We stayed in the vineyard house, which is two bedrooms when you have 4 people and it was perfect! Our favorite part was breakfast however, you walk through the vineyards to get to the restaurant and the breakfast is fresh house-made yogurt (to die for), fresh-squeezed oj, croissants -- i could go on and on, but you get the picture. Also it is a short 15 minute walk through the vineyards to town which is hugely helpful as cabs are not readily available.

Review 50:Beautiful property and gracious staff

Review 51:The lack of a telephone in the room. To phone room service you had to use your own mobile.

Review 52:Great location, buildings and food.

Review 53:A peaceful spot in the vines. Wonderful staff and the most fantastic restaurant you will ever experience. Must go!

Review 54:the accommodation and swimming pool were first class The dining experience was amazing St Emilion is within walking distance and a delight

Review 55:Nil. So happy.

Review 56:Restaurant is OUTSTANDING.... definitely at or above one star Michelin.

Review 57:excellent restaurant

Review 58:lovely cottage in the mist of vineyard, about 15 minutes walk to the amazing Saint-Emilion. Apples from the apple tree on the property was amazing !

Review 59:Lovely very French cottage in middle of vineyard. Great views. Good swimming pool. Food excellent.

Review 60:There's nothing not to like.

Review 61:The food was superb and the service just perfect.

Review 62:None

Review 63:Vineyard House is in the vineyard. Short walk to town.

Review 64:Location was perfect. Beautiful walk to town through vineyards. Helpful staff, and a very fine restaurant. Wonderful pool.

Review 65:What a fantastic place. The accommodation was superb as was the breakfast. The staff were so helpful. Will be back

Review 66:The restaurant

Review 67:Locstion

Review 68:Excellent view, excellent restaurant.

Review 69:would have liked a bath robe in the room

Review 70:location , space , privacy , convenience , luxury

Review 71:Everything

Review 72:Loved everything

Review 73:The thoughtfulness of all the personnel and beautiful location

Review 74:Beautiful surroundings, being in the middle of the vineyard.

Review 75:Everything!

Review 76:The photos don't do this place justice (hardly a negative really!)

Review 77:Amazing views from the pool and in fact all around the vineyard!

Review 78:- it is not cheap

Review 79:- the location - the setting - the breakfast - the pool - the wine

Review 80:Location - a pathway thru the vineyards & neighboring chateaux makes for a 15 minute walk to the village of Saint Emilion

Review 81:I travel a lot, and I could not find fault with Les Belles Perdrix...

Review 82:Location, 15 to 20 mins walk across the vineyards into St. Emilion. Excellent room and facilities.. Excellent restaurant and views across the vineyard... Excellent wine..

Review 83:That I couldnt stay any longer

Review 84:Where do I start we stayed in the cottage on the vineyard which had a choice of 2 wonderful rooms both on suite and a fab sitting room. Breakfast was lovely and so was dinner. The pool area was marvellous

Review 85:Air conditioning not working upon arrival, but was quickly fixed the next morning.

Review 86:Everything. The grounds, the tour of the winery, the gourmet restaurant, the refined professionalism of the staff, the quiet, the view of the vineyards.

Review 87:Shower had poor drainage and would overflow into bathroom if shower was too long.

Review 88:Located near medieval city of St. Emilion. On sunny day, we could walk through the vineyards to the city (about 20 minutes). Also, restaurant was fabulous.

Review 89:We found it a bit odd that, although there was a large kitchen, cooking was not allowed, and they requested that you not consume any items that were not purchased from their facility.

Review 90:The location was lovely and very convenient to Saint Emilion. The cottage was great, very nicely furnished, comfortable, and private.

Review 91:Everything was fabulous

Review 92:Absolute fabulous setting. We stayed in the Vineyard House which was lovely and looked like it was out of a magazine. The food (breakfast and dinner) was four star. We look forward to returning to Les Belles Perdrix

Review 93:Unfortunately the pool was under construction but they were nice enoughto give us a discount because the pool wasn't working.

Review 94:We stayed in the workshop room it was beautifully decorated withgorgeous views from all the rooms. We thought we would have just oneroom like you normally do in a hotel instead it was a 2 bedroom with aseparate living room, dining room and kitchen(they don't allowcooking in the kitchen for safety reasons). The chateau is on top ofthe hill you have a gorgeous view of st emilion. They also have arestaurant in the hotel we were in Paris then st emilion and weprobably had the best food during the entire trip in their restaurantmake sure you let the staff know if you want to eat lunch or dinner asthey have limited seats.

Review 95:No towels change, For this price 2,50 Euro for 1 cup of Nespresso seems to be ridiculous. Also the information that in the apartment you are not alowed to eat or drink anythig exept things bougth in the chateaux. If you need to breathe with the same air as the wine of this Chateaux it is a perfect place for you.

Review 96:Excellent location.

Review 97:We were their during a heat wave (over 32 c) and air conditioningstrained to keep room cool. In their defense, a several hundred yearfChateau retrofited with a/c is never going to work as well as amodern building.

Review 98:The Chateau has only 3 rooms and we stayed in the smallest, the MahogonyRoom. This room was a very large king bed room with a huge luxurybathroom. High quality facilities. Restaurant was pricey but very highquality gourmet cooking. They served on the outdoor terrace which wasbeautiful. First class terrace & service set among their wineryoverlooking miles of grape vineyards. Eat there for sure. We planned toeat there once and ended up their both evenings.

Review 99:This bed and breakfast had a great location (on top of a hill surroundedby vineyards), very friendly and accommodating staff (we really enjoymeeting Rejane), and a delicious breakfast with homemade yoghurt andsuperb croissants.

Review 100:Nothing, would go back tomorrow

Review 101:It was the real 'staying in a vineyard' experience. If you love wine, food and relaxing amongst the vines, this is the place for you.

Review 102:The location was beautiful and quiet, in the middle of Saint-émilion's vines, a 15 minute stroll from the medieval town. The bedwas very comfortable and the shower marvelous!

Review 103:Magnificent place. Wonderful terrace. Great food and grounds. Even has a fine swimming pool. Easy walk to St Emilion through vineyards.
