La Bastide de L'Empereur is an 18th-century Provencal country house with stone walls, just 1,650 feet from the medieval village of La Colle-sur-Loup and 2.5 miles from Saint-Paul de Vence . You can enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and its furnished terrace, surrounded by a planted garden.

Review 1：Room smaller than expected A bit far to walk into town in the evening

Review 3：Breakfast needs to have something salty (maybe cheese for example) .. it is too sweet although it is very delicious too.

Review 4：Everything.. especially the Hosts. Mr. And Mrs. Van Abbeve make you feel welcome as if you are at your own home. They are very helpful and give the best advice regarding what to do, where to eat etc..

Review 5：We had to switch rooms after the first night but we got a better room, so that wasn't something to complain about. It was great!

Review 6：Fabienne and Rob are the sweetest hosts we have ever had. They made us feel right at hime away from home. The bastide is impressive and you feel like a local, which is exactly what we wanted. The breakfast was amazing and that was the time when we got to meet the other guests and share impressions with people from all over Europe.

The Bastide is very charming, with a lovely swimming pool, easy parking. Good breakfast. Strong wifi signal everywhere. A very comfortable bedroom. All told a most enjoyable visit and to be recommended.

Review 13：Rob and Fabiene are excellent hosts. Nothing was to much trouble. Rob greeted us with a cold beer and a glass of wine and we sat outside chatting and meeting the other guests for several hours. The room was very nice (by chance it was called the Nice room and it certainly was) It was the largest of all the rooms. But Fabiene showed us around the others which were all good rooms . We had a problem with our car and Rob was so helpful and even took us to the garage and then back later to collect it . They both certainly put every effort into making you feel very welcome. I can not praise them enough

Review 14：The nice and spacius room with a very large bathroom and comfortably big tub, a pleasure! The owners are very welcoming and friendly, you feel as if you were with friends. The bread ad the croissants for breakfast are of very good quality. Overall, it was just a pleasure to stay there.

Review 15：Rob and Fabienne are awesome! Merci :-) We had a really lovely stay for five nights. The house is beautiful and the atmosphere is very cosy. Being welcome with a cold glass of wine after a long journey on a hot day to Valensole, was really great. Everything was just amazing! We thoroughly recommend it!

Review 16：Could have had better seating in the room to relax on, there was the bed and some stools for the table if sitting inside. But to be honest this is being a bit picky.

Review 17：We had a short stay (4 nights) here, we stayed in the separate studio which is a good size, has its own facilities which are just what you need. The house is beautiful and Rob and Fabiene were excellent hosts, always willing to go that extra mile to make sure you were happy. Breakfast was excellent served in the lovely courtyard setting. The private terrace was the perfect place to sit and relax after a busy day sight seeing, that's if we did not sit with our hosts and sample some of the local wine. Excellent tips on where to visit to get the most out of our time and even let us borrow their Barbeque. All in all I would definitely recommend booking and look forward to when we return.

Review 23：The welcome was warm and continued throughout my stay. The charming owners were friendly very helpful and professional. The room was quiet with its small balcony overlooking the courtyard. The bathroom and shower were great. Plenty of beauty and diversity to see, from the historic town of St Paul to the French Riviera all close by. A wonderful relaxing time prepared me for my on going trip. The Pool area at L' Empereur really helped.

Review 24：Went back on verbal agreement of family room for price of double room. Very noisy plumbing in the night. Heating broke down electric heaters not set up ahead of return to hotel on very cold day. Rooms not made up or towels changed at all for 3 days, wet towels as a result of no heating. Cold water for 2 mornings out of 3. Price reduction not enough for no heat or water etc. A savoury option for breakfast would have been good.
