Reviews for Hotel Le Mas Des Piboulès
Review 1:The hotel is far from the centre of the city. If you're not traveling by car, it's better to chose another place.
Review 2:The room was really comfortable, and the staff was helpful
Review 3:WiFi doesn't work at the rooms.
Review 4:The hotel is conveniently located outside the busy streets of Arles (at a relatively short walk from the city). The pool is excellent.
Review 5:The only downside is the walk into Arles - its a bit further than we realised across a 'rickety' bridge, but it was a good adventure for us and the four kids. Unfortunately, we could not get a taxi home after a lovely meal (it was only 10.30PM!) so had to walk home in the dark and got eaten alive by mosquitos (which is our fault of course)
Review 6:The family room was great, bunk beds and a massive King Size - shower was great and air conditioning was essential ! Breakfast was typical European but lots of choice and all fresh. Bar was nice and the staff were very friendly. We left an iPad in our room when we checked out (hidden in a pillow case) which they found and 'phoned us to collect - the pool was very nice too !
Review 7:The re wasn't the wi fi in my room, I had to go to the hall ti Connect to internet.
Review 8:The hotel is very cosy, almost every room has a balcony or a little garden where you can drink something or eat a snack. The location is perfect! If you have a car you can easily go to arles (5 min.), to saintes maries de la mer (40 min.) et avignon (50 min.).
Review 9:Wifi didn't work all night. Reception was closed (with a steel grill) so nobody to complain to. Even hot water was only from vending machine (paid for) so couldn't get water for baby bottles. Pool closed at 8pm. Woke up to plane taking off through thin windows. Please avoid this (overpriced) hotel.
Review 10:When we left
Review 11:The hotel needs refurbishment. Everything was really old and there were many insects. The swimming pool was also unclean. Breakfast was mediocre for the price.
Review 12:The hotel staff was amazingly helpful. We were lose and he guided us to the correct place. The hotel was near Les beaux-de-Provence and Arles.
Review 13:The openness of the hotel reception & lounge area, the swimming pool was a welcome relief due to the heat of the day. The bedroom was large & airy.
Review 14:Wi-fi reception pretty hopeless. Breakfast should be half the price it is for what is available
Review 15:Comfortable room and bed. Location excellent for Arles centre.
Review 16:The bed. My back was broken in the morning as the bed had a huge hole ((
Review 17:A good place to stay. Family room is quite spacious. Breakfast was amazing. Nice pool.
Review 18:noisy school kids talking on their balcony next door despite being told not to disturb neighbours (they can't help their hormones) - but they did quieten down maybe 10pm
Review 19:the balcony overlooking the pool - and bed was comfy - looked like they had a grand piano and a large lounge area which is why is was attractive to groups (of school kids)
Review 20:The water in the bathroom was very chlorinated, it was undrinkable, and the bottle of water (in the machine at the corridor) was extremely expensive (2 EUR per 0,5l). The breakfast was good, but there was not enough bread.
Review 21:Friendly staff, excelent location, near highway and city center (10 minutes by car), free parking, nice rooms.
Review 22:We took a cab into town in the early afternoon. Didn´t want to take our car since I as the sole driver wanted to be able to have a drink or two for dinner. Hotel is located in a nearby village 3-4 kilometres from the town. Asked the taxidriver how to get a cab in the evening. He told us about the taxi station on the main street and said there would be no problem getting one. It was. It was impossible. Not one single cab passed the place in the hour we sat/stood/walked waiting. This was around 9-10 in the evening. Tried calling the one telephone number available to the local taxi-company. Many times. No answer. Our daughter got very worried.. Finally we went to a hotel next to the taxi station (think it was Hotel Jules César). A very nice and helpful man working at that hotel drove us to Hotel Le Mas Des Piboulès. If not for that kind man, I have no idea how we could have gotten to the hotel. This was mid July, so I reckon getting another place to sleep that late would not have been very easy. Of course this doesn't really have so much to do with the hotel, but it could be worth knowing.
Review 23:The staff was heplful
Review 24:They could only give us one key for the room, even though there were two of us, which means we had to coordinate to get inside. The lobby entrance also closes at night (and sometimes strangely in the middle of the day?!), and the night entrance was kind of unreliable (I ran into other people who were trying to get in, but couldn't get the code to work). The location is also not so great unless you have a car -- it's next to a major road, but as a pedestrian or cyclist, you have to go out of your way to reach the place. The wifi was free, but we sometimes had problems actually connecting.
Review 25:Nice, clean rooms, reasonable price, nice courtyard with a pool.
Review 26:Wi-Fi inesistente
Review 27:Location
Review 28:Wifi is stable only near reception.
Review 29:Rooms were clean but a bit grotty like they'd not been redone since the 1980s.
Review 30:The nights
Review 31:The pool
Review 32:Room was very old needs some renovation and cleaning. Floor was very dirty.
Review 33:Price was very good but you couldn't ask more for the facilities.
Review 34:Sleeping is ok for a family, but a room for two couples is a bit depressing
Review 35:Pool and backyard
Review 36:The garden
Review 37:Nice swimming pool
Review 38:Bit dowdy and dark.
Review 39:Location, good parking,
Review 40:dated bath rooms
Review 41:internet, international TV chanels
Review 42:There was no tea or coffee making facility
Review 43:Staff were exceptional, so helpful. Location next to a dual carriageway but noise was not a problem. Room size was OK but a little small but the bed was enourmous
Review 44:Very friendly staff. Nice room. Good breakfast. Ideal base for visiting the Camargue. (Also if you are into history Arles is just down the road). Plenty of parking.
Review 45:Far from everything. The water was smelling of clorin. You could smell it from the room. The room very run down. Not a place to stop unless you have no other oprtion.
Review 46:Nothing.
Review 47:Could be a bit better organised: - we asked in our booking for a twin bed, but this had been overlooked (was willingly corrected the next day) - invoice was absolutely correct, but not detailed
Review 48:Big enough room and bathroom, clean, quiet, simple but good breakfast. Friendly staff. A good basic hotel, nothing more, nothing less.
Review 49:Few local facilities. 2 to 3 kilometre walk into Arles for restaurants. Room small and no shelf space for unpacking. A short stay hotel.
Review 50:Easy access off motorway. Convenient for exploring the Camargue, Alpilles area or Arles by car. Ample parking. Clean and quiet hotel. Good as a transit hotel.
Review 51:The hotel is nothing like the pictures - the pool was very small with only 10 sun beds and weeds growing all around it. The bedroom was for 4 people but had only a single wardrobe and the ladder on the bunkbeds was broken. The wifi didn't work either. The manageress was very unhelpful and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone - very disappointing!
Review 52:Breakfast not very cheap
Review 53:The location just outside Arles is great, if you planned to move by car everyday in Provence. After a day of sightseeings, swiiming pool is a blessing!
Review 54:Breakfast didn't not reach our expectation when considering the price, 8.90 Euro.
Review 55:Location is nice and quiet. Just 10 min. from Arles by car. Clean. My children loved the bunker bed and enjoyed the swimming pool everyday.
Review 56:No hot water on first night then no problem after that.
Review 57:Perfect location for visiting the Camargue; for those historically inclined very close to Arles. Easy to find. Plenty of private parking. Very good buffet breakfast, despite the fact we were the only guests. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again
Review 58:The hotel restaurant and bar were closed.
Review 59:The location was good for us as we found the 30 minute walk into Arles no problem... in fact quite enjoyable. The pool provided a very welcome afternoon dip after tiring days. The mosquitos that were widely complained about are bad but were no worse than Mersea Island! Anti-mosquito wipes were supplied in the room and we even found that restaurants in Arles would bring the repellent spray round with the starter :-)
Review 60:tourist tax
Review 61:relaxed atmosphere, excellent staff, appetising breakfast, easy parking, quiet location, outdoor pool, great situation for touring the camargue, really nice affiliated restaurant, would not hesitate to return, great value for money
Review 62:... it is a nice place, but definitley a little overpriced for the standard offered.
Review 63:... for visiting the Camargue it is a good starting point, but going to Arles with the Kids on bicycles was also easy.
Review 64:Disappointing stay. If you have time, I think you can find better valuefor money. This is a 2 star hotel trying to charge 3 star rates. Thehotel was noisy and the isolation between the rooms is not good. Wearrived late and missed the time for breakfast by 15 min the next dayand had an unfriendly reaction from the staff. The coffee is not good(just a machine) and costs eur4, which is more than in posh cafés inParis. Note that you need a car because the hotel is isolated in a cityabout 2km from Arles.
Review 65:If you're booking very last minute and don't have other options, thiscould do. I think it's over-priced for what it is.
Review 66:Possibly if anything , the hotel was a bit noisy if at full capacity ,which happened when we were there, but didnt deter us from a good nights sleep!
Review 67:very good facilities-could access swim pool easily and nice spacious clean room .Food was good with a nice selection and pleasant staff.
Review 68:Located out ofArles but within easy access by car or bicycle, this is a gorgeous spot to relax and unwind and not be bothered with inner city living.
Review 69:Very friendly staff and beautiful facilities.
Review 70:Being informed on the morning of day 2 of our 3 night stay that the hotel was closing and there would be no breakfast on our last morning and no one in the hotel after 10pm that night. This was an inconvenience and not the ideal way to treat guests; we should have been informed at the time of our booking or at the latest on arrival. Because of the very low (minus 5C) temps outside, the room heater could not warm the whole room and the bathroom and the third of the room near the patio door were very cold.
Review 71:Friendly staff. Easy to find (contrary to other comments on the website) Good parking Ideal location for visiting the Camague Very good buffet breakfast, especially as we appeared to be the only guests (but see negatives)
Review 72:location quiet atmosphere
Review 73:Free parking in large lot, close to the city of Arles, nice breakfast facility and choice.
Review 74:over all it was very goog
Review 75:Very helpful staff , nice clean and comfy room with easy access to City centre,
Review 76:Very basic - we had a standby price which was good, but their normal rates would have been too high
Review 77:Convenient stopover near Arles
Review 78:No fridge with 30 degrees only 2 electricity plugs hotel in the middleof nowhere full of mosquitos swiming pool very small rude staff
Review 79:Beds should be renewed. After one night, I had a problem on my back
Review 80:Small pool, but kids spent good time
Review 81:Lack of fridge in room. Intermittent internet access.
Review 82:Staff responded to all our concerns very promptly. Staff very driendly and helpful.
Review 83:Only one Wifi account per room. No chair and no electric coffee pot in room.
Review 84:Staffs are friendly and nice old furniture at lobby.
Review 85:Breakfast was no good value for money - over priced and poor offer
Review 86:Lovely pool
Review 87:Location was too far from town.
Review 88:I liked pretty much everything. The staff was excellent, breakfast was good.
Review 89:breakfast was a bit expensive for what you got.
Review 90:Staff was very helpful
Review 91:Just a little too far out of the city, but we knew that when we booked
Review 92:Good sized rooms, very clean, a welcoming pool and friendly staff
Review 93:Pleasant stay. Very helpful staff about activities nearby. We particularly enjoyed the pool. The breakfast was also very good - variety and fresh.
Review 94:the good hotel, little nice rooms
Review 95:the wasps around the pool! But the pool itself was nice to have.
Review 96:Small room and uncomfortable beds.
Review 97:Good location for visiting Arles and other interesting points inProvence.
Review 98:The location. Small room that needs updating. Overpriced.
