Reviews for Logis Hostellerie du Vieux Cordes

Review 1:Beautiful place! Excellent location, wonderful view over the surrounding countryside, wonderful room, and very warm, friendly staff. Best cassoulet we had on our trip at the very nice hotel restaurant! Highly recommended place.

Review 2:It was wonderful to be in the heart of this medieval town. Inevitably you have to park some distance away and we didn't find the car park first time but this all added to the adventure.

Review 3:Needs tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Needs a bar that stays open for the guests. Needs a no smokers lounge as lounge smelt strongly of stale smoke Needs a savoury option at breakfast

Review 4:The location, staff and the food. Restaurant excellent.

Review 5:Wifi did not work in the rooms. OK in public area. Smoking still allowed in some areas.

Review 6:Superb location, helpful staff. Good, but slightly expensive, restaurant. Would be happy to return.

Review 7:the only problem is the hotel is not staffed overnight and the telephone numbers given in an emergency just ring out. This needs to be addressed

Review 8:Nice basic accommodation, friendly staff, beautiful medieval town. beautiful outsideTerrace

Review 9:The atmosphere in the dining room was very nice and the food was very well presented.

Review 10:The location except the car parking involved a bit if a hike but appreciate that this was unavoidable! Have to be quite able bodied to climb the stairs to the room although all part of the atmosphere.

Review 11:None

Review 12:Wonderful position, exceedingly comfortable, beautifully modernised within an ancient building, excellent restaurant, attentive and efficient staff

Review 13:I stayed at this hotel with my wife for 2 nights and had a really nice experience as the hotel is right in the middle of the beautiful Cordes Sul Ciel and has free parking. This hotel could be outstanding if they invested some money in renovating the rooms as they are old and not well maintained. The shower is miniature

Review 14:The room was dated and very hot with no air con or fan to help keep cool. The shower was poor and the bed uncomfortable. There were no facilities for getting a drink after 10pm. Breakfast didn't seem fresh and was expensive for what was offered.

Review 15:The village is spectacular and the hotel is a lovely old building. The parking was good.

Review 16:we were there during a heat wave and while some rooms had ceiling fans, those without did not have floor fans available

Review 17:Lovely family owned hotel and restaurant on the top of the city walls with an amazing view. Good food and very clean hotel.

Review 18:We did not have WiFi in our room.

Review 19:We loved staying in what used to be a convent of the 13th century. It adds a special atmosphere that matches the medieval village it is in.

Review 20:Poor internet connection. A lift would be great.

Review 21:Great location, friendly helpful staff. It has an old world charm We had a great meal in the restaurant overlooking a wonderful view

Review 22:We arrived and were told "No wi-fi for over a week". The sign declaring this looked much older. We were told every cafe around had wi-fi. This proved untrue. Our room was hot and airless with no A/C. We were woken on both nights by noise from the street at 2am and then again at 5am - this with windows closed. We were also woken by slamming doors in hotel. Bathroom was old with broken tile in shower. Room had odor of cigarette smoke even though I'd requested a non smoking room - when I opened window saw numerous cigarette butts in window box. When we tried to talk to staff they shrugged it off, one even walking away while we were talking to him. Worst hotel service we've had in years. When it came time to pay we were told to walk to ATM and get cash as due to no internet their debit card service not working

Review 23:The hotel is a charming old building.

Review 24:There are only 6 'public' parking spaces near the hotel and it is impossible to drag cases up the hill, yet there is no hotel shuttle or taxi - we would have happily paid for this service as otherwise the location is so perfect!

Review 25:Historic charm. Smallish but well-fitted bedroom with excellent bed and stylish en-suite. Good and interesting evening menu and very pleasant breakfast.

Review 26:Difficult to find a reason for turning back next week. Go there now!

Review 27:Staff, room, location, food, even breakfast were 100% thought through by the management.

Review 28:- no elevator - the parking lot is far from the hotel and is hard to reach by car (don't carry with you big luggages)

Review 29:- staff excellent - location great - clean and very particular (medieval style)

Review 30:Given that Cordes is a medieval hill town, we liked being at the top. The parking arrangement was very well worked out. We chose the room on line for its low price. We were delighted to find that the hotel is actually of high quality and that our room was one of several small ones that go for a low price.

Review 31:We'd have liked a kettle in the room. British people like to make their own tea as what we call 'ordinary tea' is hard to get in France.

Review 32:Lovely building in excellent location.

Review 33:Terrible service in the restaurant. The waiter / waitress response is slow, they forget things, do not communicate each other and the manager does not make sure that everything goes all right with all the guest.

Review 34:excellent food good staff at the reception

Review 35:Parking the car. Drive into Cordes, and park for a few minutes to the left of hotel front door. They'll give you a map and pass card to gain entry to their parking area. I had to drive round the city twice to find the car park entrance. Just keep calm and you'll be OK.

Review 36:Very nice bedroom. Pleasant staff. The restaurant courtyard is beautiful. We wish we had booked the evening meal there because we got a dud meal in a nearby restaurant.

Review 37:The reception staff, location and room. The hotel situated us above a smoker which permeated every inch of our room, even with the windows closed. Was almost asphyxiated!

Review 38:The waiters and food.

Review 39:Good position

Review 40:We were a large family party and we were looked after very well.

Review 41:We did upgrade our room to have a view, as this is why you visit. Wonderful position. A bit of a walk from parking but only to be expected.

Review 42:Friendly staff, beautiful location.

Review 43:Difficulty with table reservation for dinner

Review 44:Good location in a pretty town

Review 45:Wasn't worth the price

Review 46:Location and view of countryside

Review 47:Very helpful andfriendly staff.

Review 48:Wi Fi system was broken. There is no notice of the mulfuntion of the Wi Fi in advance.

Review 49:I have no complaints about anything

Review 50:Everything was great. Beautiful location and hotel and staff

Review 51:Dodgy shower.

Review 52:Great bed, friendly staff, decent restaurant.

Review 53:No place to have a simple breakfast and coffee. We had to walk down to the bottom of the hill to a patasserie which was great!

Review 54:Location!

Review 55:Location, excellent, impressive, staff helpful and curtios

Review 56:good price (economy room),nice restaurant ,great location

Review 57:Neighbours were noisy in corridors

Review 58:Service and location

Review 59:Limited choice in the restaurant, either salmon or duck cooked in different ways.

Review 60:Location, breakfast and quality of food. Friendly staff.

Review 61:The food, location and staff.

Review 62:vaiment très bien

Review 63:Check the menu before you say you'll have dinner. It was a set 2 course meal and EXPENSIVE.

Review 64:Everything except dinner.

Review 65:Awkward parking Abysmal restaurant menu Salmon and duck dishes only !1

Review 66:Historic building with plenty of character

Review 67:I needed to make some local calls via their phone but the recepionist didn't know how to get me an external line. It was a nuisance as we didn't have a French sim in our phone, so had to delay until after our 2 nights' stay was up.

Review 68:We'd booked a junior suite and it was lovely. Very comfortable, spacious. The food in the restaurant was very well-priced, although there were new waitresses on who were clearly out of their depth. The experienced staff were terrific.

Review 69:No minuses!

Review 70:Location was excellent at the top centre of the Old Cordes and extra special when encircled with the morning mist. We ate in the open court next to the 300 year old Wisteria. Food very well prepared and staff excellent.

Review 71:Nothing

Review 72:A lovely hotel in the ancient medieval hill top village of Cordes-Sur-Ciel. The desk woman was charming, very helpful, and spoke excellent English. Parking is free. The restaurant served a delicious dinner at good value. The price was excellent for this quality. We based the base price. I assume this was the low season rate in early/mid April. Our room was small but very nice.

Review 73:The car parking in Cordes is very limited and you have to leave the car away from the hotel.

Review 74:A great hotel in one of France's most beautiful villages with great position and views. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. There is a fine restaurant and lovely food and wine. Do visit the sugar craft exhibition.

Review 75:decor is outdated or in bad taste - tiles on ceiling, stickers on walls etc. Even the parts that have been refurbished have been done in a poor tasteless way.

Review 76:very good location

Review 77:The bathroom toiletries were inadequate for two people. The restaurant food was not of the high standard I was led to believe by previous reviews, which was very disappointing.

Review 78:The location and the views from the terrace restaurant.

Review 79:Whilst the evening meal was very good the menu was largely salmon orduck. Limited choice meant we went somewhere else the second night. Also, a fire alarm (false) went off in the middle of the night and nostaff around to assist.

Review 80:Bedroom and bathroom.

Review 81:Noisy fan in room. Menu in dining room different to one in bedroom. Salmon featured 3 times in menu. 2 desserts not available.

Review 82:Location, room, food. Friendly staff.

Review 83:There is a sombre atmosphere in the old town. A small car would be an advantage.

Review 84:Once you find the hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful. There is parking, however you need to be reasonably fit for the trip to and from. You can load/unload luggage at the door. The restaurant is excellent, even if the young waiter a touch arrogant.

Review 85:Shower tray needed replacing. Hotel restaurant closed on Easter Monday and no staff on reception duty in the evening.

Review 86:Easy book in and friendliness of staff. View from hotel.

Review 87:Meal-time service was very poor. Parking was provided but some distance from hotel.

Review 88:Most interesting medieval city

Review 89:Food in the restaurant was a bit disappointing.

Review 90:Situation was excellent, as long as you can walk up steep hills. A good sized room.

Review 91:Everything was fine

Review 92:Genial and welcoming host-upgrade to a superior room beautiful village

Review 93:Very friendly staff and not minding going the extra mile for some special service. Lovely rooms with great view. Good restaurant.

Review 94:Staff and service were excellent . Food was imaginative, flavoursome and reasonably priced . Views of the surrounding countryside impressive .

Review 95:The lounge.

Review 96:The bathroom.

Review 97:The towels were hard and we would have liked facilities to make a hot drink in the room

Review 98:Situation

Review 99:Beautiful views Lovely food

Review 100:Fantastic views, friendly staff, lovely room, amazing location

Review 101:Beautiful village of the 12th century.

Review 102:parking was far away. Breakfast is not a buffet as they claim because we received one croissant pp !!

Review 103:The food, the room, the view, the environment
