Reviews for Best Western Atrium
Review 1:too bad it was winter and the pool was closed :-(
Review 2:excellent location to explore Arles on foot, free parking in streets nearby, good breakfast (even if expensive), spacious room in very good shape.
Review 3:There was a false fire alarm right around the time we were trying to put our 1 year old to sleep, so that totally disrupted the experience; don't know if that is a recurring thing or not. Also, as noted by others, the decor is quite outdated with the carpet and paint. Shower head holder wouldn't keep shower head in proper position making it challenging for a relaxing shower.
Review 4:French croissants and pan chocolat were wonderful at the breakfast. The location is right on the edge of the city center; and was easy to get to from the main highway. Total price including breakfast and parking was under 100 EUR. The front desk was helpful and friendly.
Review 5:Nothing
Review 6:The room was larger than we had expected. We had a wonderful view in Arles from the window. The location was very good. We could walk to the famous places. We were very satisfied with the hotel though it was a little old.
Review 7:Easy distance to walk to most of the tourist attractions/places of interest in Arles & near to several good restaurants. Very handy to have secure parking so near the centre of town. Also liked having a kettle in the room, unusual in France.
Review 8:The shower was cold in the morning and hard to get the air con working. Also had to mess about with the TV to get any English speaking channels
Review 9:Large room with a couch and coffee making facilities
Review 10:Hotel was a bit shabby. TV didn't work. 3pm check in. was a bit late. Breakfast staff unhelpful, shortage of breakfast food, too many empty platters on the self service.
Review 11:Location was excellent.
Review 12:The shower was too slow to drain in our room.
Review 13:The fact that despise the cool weather there was air conditioning available in the room. The staff was very helpful and kind.
Review 14:To go from the hotel to city center, the wall is through the kitchen of a restaurant and the smell was disgusting!
Review 15:Really good location, near to all touristic points in Arles.
Review 16:Had a great time.
Review 17:Location is great. Parking your car in a secure underground park means that you can walk around the town visiting all its historic places, with peace of mind. The staff are so helpful, which makes the stay really pleasant.
Review 18:Having e-m'd to book two garage spaces, & received confirmation, on arrival it was difficult to park while my wife went to reception to ask entrance to the garage. There were 3 tour buses parked. My wife came back saying we were not booked, & after a 2nd attempt still no space. Stephan & his assistant were rude to my wife & myself. No apology when he found my e-m having made me unpack my computer.
Review 19:Location, secure garage, good b'fast & generally pleasant staff.
Review 20:The express breakfast was billed as being served in the bar, but it was deserted and no-one to ask. Reception was busy with people checking out so we just went across the road to a café.
Review 21:The hotel is comfortable and is perfectly located for visiting the town and especially Rencontres d'Arles.
Review 22:No bar fridge in room. No restaurant for lunch or dinner. No bar service.
Review 23:Location was great! The pool area was excellent. Beds were very comfortable.
Review 24:Seemed a litte impersonsal, staff rushed. Was a busy hotel with coach parties, though. Swimming pool access not lit at night (steps and terrace). Many of the TV channels not available. I mentioned this in questionnaire in room but have received no reply
Review 25:Near Saturday market, swimming pool good at that time of year
Review 26:Breakfast was not well-organized. We had to wait for bread for 15 minutes.
Review 27:Location, comfort of the room and bathroom, free parking on-site, welcome drink
Review 28:They cleaned the room after 16:00 which I find too late if you want to have some time off in the afternoon. Very small swimming pool (forget it if there are kids).
Review 29:Great location.
Review 30:Booking requests were not read beforehand. When these were not met on check in and I asked for them ( parking and 2 rooms near each other) , the requests were met with impatience. The kettle in the room was faulty. There was one person at breakfast who was serving and could not keep the plates, food, etc restocked.
Review 31:Bed was very comfortable
Review 32:Told had to wait 30 minutes for bathroom light to come on (told it was a security reason???) Bar not open when it should have been (8pm) because all staff were in the restaurant Attitude of staff was dismissive and not customer focused.
Review 33:Easy to get into town to buy the diet coke that was wanted from the bar
Review 34:Breakfast was very average. Pool was very small- we have bigger spa baths in Australia.
Review 35:Good location, clean facilities and good value for money overall.
Review 36:the property was very tired. The pictures on the web must have been of another hotel, as they didn't resemble this hotel. It advertised it had a bar, but the bar didn't open until 7.00 and then you had to get one of the waitstaff to go get the drinks.
Review 37:Dirty swimming pool water and much mosquito than you can imagine around restaurant anf swimming pool
Review 38:good in service and travel information support. Good location in Alres. Room also clean and size appropriate for family.
Review 39:No fridge in the room but the staff let us use a fridge in the reception. Steps at main entrance (although there might be an alternative accessible entrance - we don't know).
Review 40:Very clean, large room, helpful friendly staff, good location in centre, very comfortable bed, good shower.
Review 41:There were no drawers and bad lighting in the bedroom. The roof top pool was very small. When we went for the quick breakfast we were told that the food was for a conference only although we had checked with reception. No bar. Restricted restaurant menu
Review 42:Good position
Review 43:The hotel was fine, but could do with a little updating.
Review 44:The location was convenient for walking through Arles. The staff at the front desk were very nice and accommodating.
Review 45:Each time we stay the price of the parking has gone up . It's now 14 € . We pay because it's secure and prevents the hassle of driving around the busy town of Arles after a long journey .
Review 46:We have stayed here about three times now . It's not the best Best Western we have stayed in but it is so central to Arles . Just across the road from the hotel . Especially when the huge Saturday market is on . The hotel is looking a bit tired now but the beds are comfortable and very clean , there are tea making facilities in the room . The staff are professional and friendly . There is private underground parking beneath the hotel . We got a good rate with breakfast included.
Review 47:The pool area was closed for repairs, in May?? Work should have been completed outside of tourist periods. Breakfast was OK, but the chef should learn how to make scrambled eggs. Every 24 hours the WiFi needed new logins. Why?
Review 48:Old hotel that looks and smells like a old motel. Dirty glass from the outside, looks old inside with dirty looking carpet everywhere, smells moldy and stale. Old mattresses that sank in. The ventilation in our room was broken and it was almost impossible to sleep at night. Breakfast was so-so, very basic and brand. We booked for three nights but fled after two. Our new hotel in Saints Marries de la Met is heaven in comparison and only costs slightly more.
Review 49:The location is convenient, close to town and easy to get to by car too. The staff was friendly and let us cancel the last night for free.
Review 50:There was no refrigerator in the room and hair dryer is the type that's difficult to use. The wifi was weak and intermittent. There were no adaptors that we could borrow.
Review 51:Convenient for guests with cars as there is ample free parking in the vicinity. Room size is bigger than usual for a budget hotel. Clean with good beds and shower.
Review 52:Complete lack of staff, I had to exchange a dirty pillow, We could not obtain a cup of coffee as the kitchen staff do not arrive untill 7pm. The hotel looks and feels tired. The room was an affront to cleanliness with tired wallpaper dirty and stained carpets and with the wind blowing all night and the curtains billowing around the window frame they were as much good next to useless. Thankfully I woke at 4:30 am and made a quick escape. Never again, Best Western should be ashamed of themselves to take money from the public for this sorry state of a hotel.
Review 53:IT HAD A SECURE CARPARK
Review 54:Breakfast too expensive: we didn't have it in the hotel.
Review 55:The position, just out of the city centre. The confort of the room. Complimentary water in room.
Review 56:No stocked bar fridge in the room. It is not a big problem but we tend to expect it.
Review 57:I absolutely loved how big my room was since we expect rooms to be small in Europe. Modern-ish hotel very much like a Holiday Inn. It was fine for the 3 nights I stayed there but when away from home we want authentic Europe, a Provencal feel, so to speak, so I checked into a different hotel for another 5 days. Very large room, could have fitted another double bed next to the one I slept it. Lovely bathroom with bath and shower. It was very windy when I arrived but by Market Day on Saturday the wind died down. Tea / coffee making facility was great. Tourist Office just a step away from the entrance, as well as the main street. I would stay at the Best Western Atrium again. I did not have breakfast as there are so many little restaurants in the area. October is a bit cool so no one at the pool side - the pool is on the roof, was sunny up there but the cold wind would have made swimming impossible. Large dining hall, cute lounge area with a grand piano. What I look for first in any hotel is 24 hour reception. I like to know that hotel staff are there when you need them. A very comfy stay all around. Would recommend the Atrium to anyone. If you decide to go on a Jeep Safari, the Jeep meets you at the doors of the Atrium, if you stay at another hotel, you have to make your way here to meet the Jeep / tour conductor.
Review 58:That I didn't stay longer
Review 59:The Location The staff Super silent air conditioning Large clean room comfortable bed Excellent value for money Quiet Two minute walk from all the action
Review 60:Tight room for 3...barely any room for our bags/luggage and walls and carpets quite worn out. Art in the lobby was depressing...rotting fruit and a rope around a girl's neck to name a few..not great subject matter for a vacation.
Review 61:Great location for visiting the town, enjoyed the roof top pool.
Review 62:bed in family room - advertised as 2 singles and a double, in fact just sofabed - very uncomfortable.
Review 63:location rooftop pool - even though very small clean
Review 64:Good location, on the edge of the city. Big clean comfortable room. Superb, almost silent, air conditioning. All the staff I dealt with were charming and helpful and all spoke English.
Review 65:Fading splendour! The whole place needs a makeover particularly the lifts and pool and roof areas. The toilet on the roof was a pretty dingy affair.
Review 66:The location is excellent. We stayed here about 5 years ago and it needed an upgrade then,,, it obviously hasn't happened yet. With a bit of money spent this could be a great Hotel.
Review 67:Nothing. A great place to stay
Review 68:The location and the on site parking were excellent. The shower was good and there was plenty of hot water. Very handy to the centre of the city therefore we could walk everywhere. Lovely, helpful staff. Excellent value for money.
Review 69:Helpful front desk staff checking in and looking up event times, tickets, etc. The rooftop pool is great. Hotel is easy to find and well-signed. Good breakfast and children under 12 are free. Merci!
Review 70:1. 1St night - no English-language tv programs worked in either room. We requested a change of rooms. 2Nd night - one room still didn't have English language tv. On the 3rd morning, the electricity went out in one room.2. No bathroom amenities, e.g. shampoo. Only soap pump on wall. 3. Hotel has total lack of charm, unlike your other hotels in Europe - cold and uninviting.
Review 71:Very helpful staff.
Review 72:price was a bit too much for the quality of the facility. Charging extra €14 for overnight parking is a bit too much. Smell in the garage was horrible.
Review 73:not really a lot, just OK for overnight
Review 74:Location location location. Right behind tourist office , at entrance to old town. 2. Min walk from theatre antique - ideal after late concert. Right beside stop ('Lices') for FREE shuttle bus to train station. (Catch this small red shuttle just in front of gare SNCF and stay on bus til you pass tourist office on your right and you'll have a free 10-15 min tour of the town on arrival, finishing 2 mins from hotel at the Drop off point on Boulevard des Lices). Roof top pool, (though small) gives welcome place to sunbathe and relax - rare in city centre...
Review 75:Restaurant advertised as serving dinner. Turned out this was subject to it not being booked by tour groups and private parties. It was only available two of the four nights we stayed and the fact the restaurant would not be open for dinner was not advertised in advance. Also parking not available the first night as requested at time of booking. I would only recommend this hotel with certain advisement in contrast to a very positive stay at the Best Western Donjon in Carcasonne.
Review 76:Breakfast was good but basic Probably hotel needs refresh
