Reviews for The Bradford Hotel

Review 1:Only one ( very small ) bedside light so one of us couldn't read in bed and had a stumbling journey to the bathroom during the night. The overall room lighting was not sufficient either.

Review 2:Location, room, staff, warmth of the hotel. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:Stayed in a classic King size room which was very nice but wasn't a nice as the first classic king size room we had the first ever time we stayed there

Review 5:The top floor seems to be under construction although it's described as a room refurbishment on the website. This is misleading because the constant noise from 9am to 5.20 pm was unbearable. It sounded like walls were being taken down with heavy hammering and drilling. I really liked the hotel and all staff so this was a shame. Will stay again once the building work is done.

Review 6:Took a long time to get hot water to run from the shower/taps but we could live with it.

Review 7:We had a suite and it was better with more facilities eg dining room table, 2 TV's, comfortable chairs etc than we expected. Lovely check in staff

Review 8:Room cold and radiator not working Warm not hot water when showering Hole/crack in the ceiling by the light fitting in the shower.

Review 9:Friendly and polite staff member on arrival(Olaf) Comfy bed. Hot drink making facilities with biscuits Wifi

Review 10:The room was cold and there is not enough sockets to charge our gadgets.Bathroom had mould in places and had to flush the toilet several times before everything went away.

Review 11:The location and secure parking.

Review 12:Staff had lost my booking on arrival - took 20mins to sort out. Room had some condensation issues. Guy on the checkout desk was appalling. Looked at me like he'd scraped me off his shoe.

Review 13:Room was clean and comfortable.

Review 14:The shower was a bit poor not much power, We had a extra large bed but it was 2 single beds pushed together so all night we was falling down the middle...

Review 15:Warm and clean

Review 16:Shower was dirty, bath was worn out, shower cable was torn and consequently created a problem with the flow, radiators came on around 5am and sounded like a brass band from every room, unable to sleep, mirror in room was damaged, bedside lights were woefully low light and did not illuminate the main room,

Review 17:Staff were very polite and helpful, especially at breakfast, also, variety at breakfast was very good, allowed a good choice for breakfast

Review 18:my complaint was attended slowly, i asked to repair the bath room light but it was done next day.

Review 19:I liked the atmosphere, attitude of staff at reception desk and the location of the hotel.

Review 20:The room was above the function room and therefore noisy till early hours of morning and also it was an adjoining room and the people in there continued talking till 3.30am. Have stopped here before and never had any problems

Review 21:Booked a king room but they didn't have any, Double was fine though. 4th floor room above function room. Xmas party with banging music which we were not told about at check in, although they did have a room on opposite side of corridor. Should also notify you on booking.com about refurbishment work and noise. 5 channels on tv!! Not value for money considering what was on offer locally within 5mins walk.

Review 22:It was a very pleasant and happy weekend away the staff was very helpful and polite and the breakfast was great and the room was lovely very enjoyable stay ? Thank you x

Review 23:Shower water was tepid and loose light fitting over the bath/shower

Review 24:Very friendly and efficient staff. I requested a room change and it was promptly dealt with

Review 25:The bathroom needs updating the shower rail was half hanging off the carpet was dirty and had chewing gum on the the shower was not good and not hot enough there was signs of damp in the bathroom and the smell was not pleasent

Review 26:The ensuite was clean, however, the bath had residue and rust near the plug hole and put me off showering.

Review 27:I liked the location and the friendliness of the staff. They were professional and made us feel welcome. The service was second to none.

Review 28:Rooms are currently undergoing refurbishment, was in one of the rooms that has not yet been refurbished, felt dated and shabby. Restaurant and Conference venue were cold. Air-con blowing clod air in late November.

Review 29:Good location, reasonable food, friendly helpful staff, clean comfortable room.

Review 30:The room left a lot to be desired but the staff moved me and it was much improved. I also understand that the entire hotel is being refurbished floor by floor so one can understand maintenance not being up to standard.

Review 31:The staff go above and beyond the norm in being helpful. They are one of the main reasons I always return.

Review 32:The hotel is very poorly maintained. Rooms not very clean at all. Allowing tradesmen in dirty clothing and boots in breakfast room should not be allowed. People have to sit on those seats in clean clothes. Staff not professional at all.

Review 33:Location.

Review 34:Abdolutley awful really bland cold rooms with duvets that are really thin and short in length in all the rooms the tvs have a lock on then so you cant access the input or me u options the noice of residence foreign especially is really loud not to mention the lack of sockets in each room and also no bedside switches for the lights have to go to the end of the room to switch on and off would not recomend anyone to stay we booked out the same night and checked in else where rather lose £60 than stay their

Review 35:?

Review 36:The room was not clean ie bins not emptied, beds not made properly, hair in duvets. Cobwebs above bed. Dead fly, dust on window ledge.Bad odours in room not being aired or ventilated. Carpets not clean. No basic cleanliness unwelcoming. light bulbs gone. Saw a few rooms before finding the most clean aired one that we could be sleep in. Obviously needs new management take care & attention.

Review 37:The Location was good and a couple of the ladies (staff) there were helpful, kind, polite and accomodating.

Review 38:Staff would not answer the phone to do request room service food so had to go to reception and the TV remote was not working. Found an empty bottle of wine under the bed. Obviously not cleaned properly. My room in need of moderation.

Review 39:It was located in the centre of Bradford

Review 40:Did not have a place to park my vehicle, nearby car parks were closed, was told to park in a delivery bay on main road and move it before 10am before wardens arrived. Room was not clean, carpets were wet, cigarette smell throughout hallway, bath had stains and was pretty unhygienic, drinking cups had stains and were used!. Couldn't adjust the temperature, room was literally boiling had to open the inconvenient window to get the room to cool down slightly. Room was falsely advertised was supposed to have a city view but had a view of a roof full of cigarette buds! uncomfortable and unstable beds. Unhelpful/Rude staff for when i called to ask why the television wasn't working.

Review 41:WIFI was reasonable.

Review 42:Car park deal poor - I f you eat at Chinese Buffet part of same building 24h parking reduced to £5

Review 43:good price, location, clean and comfortable. Would use again.

Review 44:Menu in restaurant is very limited, more choice would be nice. Buffet English breakfast didn't look too appetising but large choice of continental breakfast.

Review 45:Nice to have an easy chair and table in the room to sit at, as well as a desk and proper desk chair to work at.

Review 46:Partially renovated room which was deceptive from the photographs when we thought it was fully refurbished. Carpets were worn and grubby, bed was uncomfortable with a memory foam topper to try and disguise it, bath was rusty round the plughole and shower head needed replacement - we didn't have a shower as the bathroom looked dirty

Review 47:Very welcoming and helpful reception staff.

Review 48:Dirty bathroom, especially the floor which clearly hadn't been cleaned in a long time (discovered this after spilling some water on the floor, so put a towel down to soak it up and the towel became FILTHY!. No service in the restaurant, staff uninterested, cold food, food running out. Shocking! This hotel used to be great we have stayed here many times, and even after the Hilton sold it to the new company it was good for a while. But now it's very poor and we won't be using it again.

Review 49:Location is very good, near the railway station. reception staff friendly and helpful.

Review 50:That you ran out of Bacardi and coke. But the Barman went above and beyond and went and got some more.

Review 51:Your bar man is excellent. After my long day working he knew just how to serve a Bacardi and coke. And when you ran out he actually went out to get some. He deserves a pay rise.

Review 52:Staff very friendly and helpful, eg re explaining parking arrangements. Location is unbeatable. Room was attractive, clean and we had a great view. Excellent value for money.

Review 53:When checked in and room alloyed was not Attended by housekeeper There should be board for breakfast timing And not much variety for vegetarians

Review 54:Location and staff

Review 55:The room was very small and had 2 twin beds with no option for another. It was a very sad time for me and sleeping in that tiny bed having flown for many hours was not the best. Breakfast was okay but I had keep asking for things such a hot coffee and cream.

Review 56:the location.as we had come from Canada for my sisters funeral

Review 57:Radiator pipes banging all night, and traffic noise. Very limited choice of food in the restaurant.

Review 58:Very convenient for exploring Bradford and surrounding area.

Review 59:NOT GOOD! I travelled up for 4 hrs for a meeting in Bradford the next morning. Checked in ok staff were helpful. Settled in, room ok and pretty comfortable. Went for dinner in the evening and was told that there was a half an hour wait as they were busy. When I sat down there was only two other people in the restaurant......! Next morning I came down for breakfast and there was no cooked breakfast available, only cereal, croissants and cold meat. I waited for a bit then left as I had a meeting. When I mentioned to the staff that my stay included breakfast they did nothing to resolve the issue other than take the breakfast off my invoice. Very nice gesture but I would rather have had a breakfast before a 3hr meeting!

Review 60:Been to this hotel a couple of times now...m we love it the rooms are clean and fantastic and they have a restraunt downstairs which does the most amazing food.....the staff are amazing too x

Review 61:but the food at breakfast was only just warm not hot, the room and the dining room was cold. Ate in the hotel on Mondsy and ir was package lasagne not very nice. I am not happy at staying any longer at the hotel so have cancelled my booking for next week but the staff have informed me that my booking was an advanced booking and it is non refundable. I was never informed of this and money has been taken I from my acct. I will take this up with booking .com as I never signed up for a direct booking and no one made me aware of this thanks Susan Ridger

Review 62:The stafff where greenfly ,

Review 63:Price of £85 without breakfast was too high. Booking.com offer breakfast as an add on for £15, you can get it when you check in for £7.50!! No glasses in the bathroom

Review 64:Location

Review 65:This hotel is extremely dated, they are living off the fact that it used to be a Hilton, new owners have not spent any money on this property and would suggest staying away, they say there going to be having a refurb let's see if that happens. If you are desperate and do stay avoid level 3 it's a throw back from the 50's not a nice stay. Myself and my college walked out

Review 66:There was a fire alarm at 2.45am. We were out of our rooms for 45 minutes. The staff reaction to this test was very poor. We were not advised or checked by staff. We eventually sat inside the hotel. One group must have been told they could return to their rooms and the rest of us just followed. No proper announcements were made. I felt it was poorly managed.

Review 67:The location of the hotel was good for an early departure from the hotel to the interchange the following morning.

Review 68:The staff were superb. They were so friendly and so helpful. Glad to hear the hotel is getting refurbished as the carpets which get so many mentions in other reviews are in need of being replaced.

Review 69:Bathroom was not clean and badly finished; shower wasn't very powerful. Bar staff were not welcoming and overall atmosphere on evening was cold and uninviting.

Review 70:Reception staff were good and location was good.

Review 71:The window wouldn't open.

Review 72:I loved the fact that it felt like home there was a kettle and everything to make tea/coffee even a microwave and iron and iron board! The bath filled up really quick and the products given were amazing! Can't wait to stay with them again!

Review 73:Poor camp bed for Son, he had to sleep on floor as it was more comfortable! Bathrooms old and moldy seals Window old draughty and excessive road noise. Room very cold no heating had to ask for more bedding and eventually offered a heater. Parking was not on daily rate and had to pay on each exit, even on the same day.

Review 74:Location to Station Excellent porridge

Review 75:The fact we didn't have warm water and called the reception 4 times still no one came out to check and when complained was told they was really busy and couldn't get a staff to look at it

Review 76:That's it close to my partner

Review 77:food was nice but cooked in spicy oil even the breakfast. reserved with card and said would be paying cash. had to pay 30 pounds deposit to pay cash.

Review 78:good view from front room. good tv. comfy beds. nice food.

Review 79:The rooms are a bit grubby found hair in Bath + one on the bed plus there were cigarette burns in the bathroom tryed to be hidden with tissue holder ect.

Review 80:Where it is situated

Review 81:We were told to pay a deposit on the hotel which we had not been told in advance and having stayed there previously this was a shock and felt like a random rule put into place. I felt like the women thought we were there to cause trouble rather than wanting to stay a night at a hotel.

Review 82:The location of the hotel is very good, a 2 min walk from interchange.

Review 83:No onsite parking but free safe well lit roadside parking on Sharpe Street overnight which is a five minute walk away...

Review 84:Excellent location, room, restaurant, and staff. Fast free wi fi...

Review 85:Cleaning of room & making of bed could've been better. Bathroom fine; bedroom décor a bit tired & worn

Review 86:Very helpful friendly staff, seemed genuine

Review 87:Breakfast not included in my deal and was nothing special, you have to pay extra for parking. You might as well stay in a more expensive hotel.

Review 88:Being able to open the window

Review 89:Location excellent for travelling and reaching the campus of the university - really good breakfast. Staff very helpful. Would recommend the hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Bradford.

Review 90:Room service was supposed to be till 10 PM I rang to order at 830 to be told they were taking no more orders I was really disappointed as was to tired to move so had to get dressed to go find something to eat they should not say till 10 if they can't manage it .

Review 91:Liked the room comfy with a nice bath and products.

Review 92:As soon as we walked in you could smell the dampness so we asked to switch rooms which was also damp and smelled horrible carpet had stains and the rooms look nothing like the pictures and are actually tiny.

Review 93:The toiletries given were of good quality.

Review 94:Sink was cracked. Crockery was dirty until replaced by staff. No fridge. Paint peeling, general delapidated feel to the place - clearly not renovated since changing hands from Hilton.

Review 95:Staff were courteous & helpful

Review 96:Room was not cleaned during the day, and we had to wait for 2 hours until it had been serviced. The towels were also not replaced on the second day.

Review 97:Staff were very friendly when we had complaints or additional requests.

Review 98:Given the price, I would have preferred a better breakfast. Otherwise everything was perfect!

Review 99:The room could have been cleaner, particularly the bathroom which had hair on the floor from a previous guest.

Review 100:Great location, friendly and helpful staff.

Review 101:Staff gave us a different room which was a double rather then a king which what we had paid for . No one told this to us as reception , got to the room which stank . Moved rooms 3 times . Awful staff awful hotel bathrooms in dire state- simply awful avoid like the plague - way over priced

Review 102:Room smelt like a sewer. I think it was due to the toilet not being flushed for a while . However the rest of the room was fine. You can tell that it used to be a Hilton but you can also see why Hilton removed its name from this hotel.

Review 103:large room . Great view. Ease of parking. Close to where you want to be.

Review 104:The location is right in the city centre. Car parking facility next door with 15% discount. Friendly and helpful staff. Good clean and tidy rooms and a very comfortable bed.

Review 105:Lack of greeting and eye contact by reception, no smiles or general how are you? Toilets, flushes. We're awkward an jammed, carpet still had bits on needed vacuuming. Lack of free hotel parking!

Review 106:Bed was comfortable Location was right for our needs during our stay.

Review 107:Fruit salad was not replenished unless asked by a customer .Also breadfor toast we was never shown over the three mornings to a fully laidtable there would always items missing cutlery cups etc

Review 108:The room and the bathroom were very clean and the bed was verycomfortable

Review 109:Staff were absolutely appalling and rude! We got there early and asked to check in. We had 6 booked room. Said the rooms weren't ready but let us know when one was. We had a very young baby but we sat and waited and said even one for now would be fine considering it was 1:39s However people were turning up and they were allowed in come 2pm and only after we went back to reception she allowed us a room and said oh sorry! We had asked to be told! She was then very rude and not competent enough to take payments for 5 rooms at the same time! The hotel itself was fine but the bathrooms were quite smelly and the rooms aren't very big. We stayed thinking it would be nice and convinent however would not out of choice again. Be aware of the car park, it's an NCP and you have to pay. Yes the hotel give you 15% discount but after being there for 2 days you can imagine it was still a lot. Our main gripe is defintley some of the staff. The fact one room wasn't ready till 6!! Which was for an elderly lady!! Yet they wouldn't let us have a later checkout till 3 for her. However were 3 hours late in giving us a room in the first instance, we are expected to wait till 3 and obide by that rule so a room should be ready. When we did ask if we could have a late check out said it was impossible as fully booked no rooms but when another family member asked to book another night they said there was a room. Customer service was appalling!!

Review 110:We went for a wedding at The Bradford Hotel so ease of being upstairs was really good to get changed etc and put kids down for a nap

Review 111:The room wasn't as clean as I had expected. After the 1st night my partner used a cotton ear bud and must have thrown it in the bin but missed. The following day it was still there and hadn't been cleaned from the bathroom floor. There were also human hair in the bath. The costa coffee didn't Taste like costa coffee and I get 1 everyday.

Review 112:location & price

Review 113:During my stay l had three rooms this was due to toilet not working, shower rails not fixed to walls, ventilators not working, basic paint work being scruffy and being kept waken all night by a noisy faulty ventilator system which was bad.

Review 114:Nothing really very disappointed

Review 115:Having a hot bath. The bed gave me a good nights sleep. The hotel is very convenient to the railway station. The hotel food on the evening and at breakfast was very good

Review 116:None to report, but a few complimentary newspapers in the booking hall each day would be quite useful.

Review 117:Location, cleanliness of hotel and value for money.

Review 118:The room was smelling of smoke, the bed was very uncomfortable. It was really warm in the room and the fan didn't work either. There was also no free water bottle in the room so I was dehydrated through the night. The room cost £120, so very low value for money considering it was old and musty.

Review 119:The room is basic- doesnt feel or look like a hilton. They need a massive refurb. The mattress was uncomfortable, and the walls in need of a lick of paint.

Review 120:the main entrance of the hotel is really classy along with the resteraunt.

Review 121:No teas and coffee as what they say it is complimentary. You need to come down to the reception to ask for it. It should be refilled everyday.

Review 122:The bed weren't really comphy not like (premier Inn beds) 3 flat pillows isn't enough for 2 people

Review 123:the room was fabulous over all I liked the big TV

Review 124:The rooms were of a low standard We had to be moved to a new room twice due to shower rails not secure and coming off the wall. Toilet not working and air ventilator not working.

Review 125:Nice reception area

Review 126:The shower had no power so took ages having a shower and could not move the shower pipe! The bed was small for a double and was not comfortable at all!

Review 127:Breakfast

Review 128:The only thing that I didn't like was the noise. I stayed in the hotel to seat for an examination the next day. I asked for a quiet room for me to relax and revise. Very late at night, people were talking round the corridor and so as outside. Very early in the morning I can hear a lot of noise from lorries and cars. I cannot fault the room at all as it was nice and comfy but I did not sleep very well due to the noise. They put me on a wrong part of the building.

Review 129:I originally booked for a twin room in case a friend of mine will accompany me. I really appreciate that they transferred me to a very clean and comfy double room as I was just by myself in the end. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 130:For the price it's ok-the least they can do is have fresh smelling bedsheets

Review 131:I've stayed at the hotel a few times. It wasn't brilliant but it was ok. Hardly surprising that Hilton pulled out

Review 132:In walking distance of city centre. Clean big rooms with big beds. Very friendly staff, always smiling which is a good sign they are happy working at the hotel. Fantastic breakfast buffet.
