Reviews for Mas Valentine
Review 1:Guests must have a car. The property is some ways from the center ville.
Review 2:The staff is amazingly friendly and resourceful. We arrived when the dining area had closed, but they made us omelettes, salad and tea with bread.
Review 3:The property grounds were beautiful and the room was wonderful. We woke up every morning to the rooster crowing. We stayed three nights and only had breakfast once because it cost 15€ per person for coffee, juice & few pastries.
Review 4:We loved its location; it made it very easy to travel to Avignon, Arles and the Ventoux area. The staff were fabulous, especially the husband and wife team who own it - and their attitude reflects in the fantastic attitude of the staff who work there. We had a fabulous garden room, well equipped, beautifully clean, and very, very comfortable. The meals were delicious, but supplies of bread for breakfast in the morning was spartan. That said, there was nothing to complain about at all. It is THE most perfect place.
Review 5:Lovely la mas, very welcoming owner, beautiful family dog, great food and magical setting. The chef even offered to prepare some Purée for my 12mth old baby which she didn't finish but I did...as it was so delicious!
Review 6:The bed could have been better
Review 7:The fresh homemade yogurt from a local farm was so good I dream about it! The grounds were beautiful, the pool area was lovely.
Review 8:For the price and being a 4 star hotel, the hotel should have much more services available. There is almost no room service, no one to help with the luggages and other basic services you would expect.
Review 9:It's a nice property. The room has plenty space. Good wifi.
Review 10:Upon arrival, a competent young lady greeted us with a list of rules, very inhospitable like a mean hall monitor. It's more pleasant to arrive to a warm greeting. They make a big deal about bringing no food or drink onto the facility, even though the restaurant is closed two nights. So you are forced to drive into St. Remy at night, and it is not that easy of a commute due to poor signage and several roundabouts in a row. I really hated that part..
Review 11:The facility is charming and quiet. The pool is very nice. The dinner and breakfast were very pleasant.
Review 12:Honestly there was nothing that did not like
Review 13:The very beautiful setting plus charming, kind and helpful staff made this a wonderful weeks holiday. The garden is outstandingly gorgeous. The dinner was excellent. Easy with own transport to get a good dinner in St Remy de Provence, Sunday and Monday evenings when hotels restaurant is closed for dinner. Swimming pool is very big but out of sight of the dining/patio area. We certainly hope to return to this hotel which has a very tranquil and happy atmosphere.
Review 14:We arrived on a Monday and the restaurant was shut and all the staff left at 7pm. We had to let ourselves in when we returned from having dinner on the village. A bit strange but not really a problem.
Review 15:The breakfast was excellent and was served to us in a beautiful garden by a waiter, rather than the usual buffet scrum. The grounds were lovely, with a fantastic salt water pool and many areas for budding artists to sit and paint. The rooms were spacious and styled in a traditional French fashion with large comfortable beds, A wonderful stay and we hope to return.
Review 16:The whole package! The feeling we got when we pulled up. The beautiful grounds and Hotel. The surrounding area. The staff and especially the owner who helped out when my wife came down with bronkidus.
Review 17:Can't fault it
Review 18:Beautiful setting and tasteful both indoors and out. We had a suite which was large plenty of storage and designer bathroom. Pool area is lovely and so are the gardens - excellent cuisine
Review 19:Not turning air con on especially when it is advertised. Could not open the door for air as it was ground floor and not concerned in the unlikely event of an intruder - this would have also let bugs in and we would have heard more noise from guests. Sevice was not always up to scratch.
Review 20:The house was very nice and so were the grounds. On the whole, friendly.
Review 21:The air conditioning did not work and we had to ask a few times before they attended to the problem the second day. The bathroom is not guest friendly; no shelves or drawers to put toiletries and makeup (only in the shower). No chair to sit in front of mirror when blow drying hair or do makeup in bathroom or room. Fire place in main dining hall not clean and smells of soot.
Review 22:Dinner in restaurant was excellent. Beautiful gardens and villa.
Review 23:Breakfast is poor for the price . Do not include this in your deal if you are not staying in the premises all day . Position of premises far from any restaurant
Review 24:Beautiful premises .clean and tidy.
Review 25:Breakfast is not really what you expect from a place like this, but maybe it's what French people have, so, no complains. Not many options. It was difficult to communicate with the breakfast staff, they only speak French. The wireless didn't really work all the time.
Review 26:The location is great but you need a car if you want to go for dinner in St Remy de Provence. You can go for a walk in the countryside, but not at night. The room was very nice, every single detail was very unique. Marine at the reception is lovely, very cheerful and helpful! She can speak a good English (the only one among the staff).
Review 27:Mas Valentine is a wonderful place were to spend at least a weekend. It is perfectly located very close to St Remy, in a peaceful area. I can't wait to come back in summer to enjoy some time by the pool! The breakfast is delicious and staff is very nice. Merci!
Review 28:The pool was not yet full of water to use and the hotel bicycles had flat tyres.
Review 29:The staff were superb from begining to end ! Reception: Excellent Dinner: Excellent Breakfast: Excellent The dinners were exceptional and the staff serving dinner were second to none ! Great Provence treasure ... will definitely be back !
Review 30:It is a Very good hotel for a relaxing weekend. Staff is kind , hotel is charming and is placed in the middle of a calm and pretty garden. All the charm of Provence is there ! + excellent restaurant
Review 31:Leaving.
Review 32:Outstanding place in perfect location with great food. I'd book in winter months and enjoy Provence without any other tourists. In summer, my guess is that you could never book a room. Outstanding value.
Review 33:no more time to stay longer
Review 34:Confortable room, new equipments, very nice staff, and very very excellent cuisine ! The two dogs are also lovely, I love this hotel !
Review 35:I rang to check before booking, as I always do, that 5 could be accommodated in the room, which we could and I also checked if breakfast was included and 4 were and 1 wasn't, fair enough. On arrival I checked if this was correct to which I was told yes so we ate a pretty poor breakfast and on check out we were charged for the 4 included ones. The owner was very rude and shouted at me, whilst I kept my calm and just paid as was unable to get a word in. Very disappointing because if they had said no on arrival I would have gone out for a lovely breakfast in St remy and saved just shy of 200 euros for 2 days (yes no half price for kids either!). By the way the 35 euro supplement for the extra bed did not include breakfast either. No wifi in room as advertised.
Review 36:Clean big room but isolated from main hotel.
Review 37:Breakfast is a rip off at eur 17 per person and on two days when the restaurant was closed none of the cooked options was available but the same price was charged. If you even have a coffee you get charged for breakfast - yet you cannot order a coffee. For the price one would expect complimentary water in the room
Review 38:very comfortable and lovely rooms staff helpful
Review 39:We enjoyed the lovely setting of this property, and the wonderful hospitality of the hosts, Marie and Guy. We highly recommend this property to anyone who is travelling in the area. Don't miss saying hello to their great little French Bulldog, Arenas!
Review 40:Free wifi was available but we couldn't get it in our room...too far away from the router, I think. It had been raining a lot and the cushions by the lovely pool were too wet to sit on...
Review 41:Staff was friendly and helpful. Food at restaurant was wonderful the night we ate in. Our room was lovely with an awesome bathtub. Beds were comfortable.
Review 42:Loved that there was a pool. Hotel was nice and relaxing in the countryside of Provonce but St. Remy is a short 5 min drive away with lots of great restaurants. Overall, an excellent stay!
Review 43:Not being able to stay longer.
Review 44:This is a superb hotel, restaurant complex made special because of the commitment of the proprietors Marie and Guy. The dining experience is fantastic. The kitchen team are of Michelin Star quality and the indoor outdoor setting is stunning. They are both complimented by the floor staff headed by Proprietor Guy as the Master of Wine making for super dining at all times. Lastly its all achieved in a relaxed and understated way, including the layout of the rooms, comfortable bedding and spacious bathrooms.
Review 45:Unfortunately the Mas is close to a busy road and this creates a bit of noise during the day but is not noticeable at night.
Review 46:The room was impressive and The bed was very comfortable. The welcome we received was genuine. But the meal was truly memorable. The quality of the ingredients couldn't be bettered and the chef's skill was apparent with every dish. Seriously rivalling Michelin 1 or 2 star restaurants elsewhere. And to accompany, a good wine list. All in all a good experience and one I expect we will repeat.
Review 47:We didn't like the extra charge (30 euro per night) for anuncomfortable sofa bed in same room for our kids. There are no cheapand easy food options without going into town. They are set up forguests to do the meal plan which is gastronomique and quite expensive. The food was great, but overkill for our kids 13 and 10. And, stayingalmost a week, we didn't want to commit to multiple meals at thatlevel either. There is no self-laundry on premises and wifi was very spotty in our cabin.
Review 48:The setting and grounds are beautiful with a lovely pool. The staffare very dedicated and helpful. It is centrally located for many greatday trips.
Review 49:The restaurant top menu was too expensive for what it was. As it changes regularly, it could have just been bad luck.
Review 50:General family atmosphere and kindness of staff. Typical local atmosphere. New premises. I highly recommend the hotel.
Review 51:Breakfast could include more fresh fruit and fruit juices for the price
Review 52:the venue was very unique, with a large pool and a romantic beautiful outside restaurant. The garden was a beauty full of flowers that were also used in the special dishes from the chef's cuisine. The host and lady of the House were adorable and very motivated to please the guests. They are the engine of this enterprise and do a very good job
Review 53:Menu had limited choice and did not change if staying a week. Part of walk to town did not have a footpath 900yds
Review 54:room Pool Food and good value for Michelin star restaurant Countryside location but 25min walk to town Quiet
Review 55:Busy road right next to the place.
Review 56:Overall good place, but at the same time we always had a feeling that the owners had a good idea but still don't know how to implement it right. You are more or less left on your own, there is next to nothing attention from personnel and the young girls at the reception are trying their best, but really cannot give much advise.
Review 57:Fantastic hotel. Recently renovated, the hotel is immaculate, friendly, great amendities. The restaurant is michelin star quality. I would go again
Review 58:The most wonderful 4 dfays of our trip to France were spent at Mas Valentine. The staff, the food, the rooms, the pool, the gardens...Everything was exceptional!
Review 59:The breakfast was very expensive for what it had, very limited choice. Need to go by car to get to the city.
Review 60:Very beautiful hotel, with fantastic swimming pool and garden. Room was very comfortable and nicely designed. Big bathroom with Italian shower and bath.
Review 61:Going home
Review 62:Paradise! The owners and staff were so dedicated to making everything absolutely perfect. While we were there, they served a special seven course meal that was absolutely the best in my life! Do not miss out on dining at their restaurant and book your stay at Mas Valentine NOW. WE WILL CERTAINLY BE BACK.
Review 63:Rude wait staff, they clearly want to run a restaurant not a hotel. Mornings are a problem for them, late starts, drama if you ask for something no one at the front desk for check out at 8.30am, that's not a hotel, it's a nice restaurant with some rooms. They need to rethink how to treat guests all the time. Not just the evening.
Review 64:Beautiful building. Lovely food, very solid without being exceptional. Very pleasant dining experience.
Review 65:Lovely staff, beautiful location and facilities
Review 66:The size of the room
Review 67:chimney in dinning room needs cleaning as smoke came back into the room from the fire
Review 68:It's not fully operational on weekdays
Review 69:The staff, the place & the surroundings
Review 70:The tennis courts are in very poor condition.
Review 71:The hotel, our suite, the staff, restaurant, pool area and surroundings were excellent.
Review 72:Staff not attentive. Dragged my bags to my room. No one enquired/helped.
Review 73:We'll run.Roomy bedroom with excellent bathroom.Nice swimming pool.Restuarant had good menu and nice wines.
Review 74:The grounds, the airiness of the rooms, decorations, staff and pool. Very relaxing coming farm Paris!

Review 86:Great quiet location with loads of extras. Luxury appointments and great staff.
Review 87:Food,room
Review 88:Very friendly,clean and comfortable
Review 89:Not the nicest walk into town.
Review 90:Adjoining rooms very good for those with children (ask for Audrey and Leslie). Above average breakfast.
Review 91:Nothing
Review 92:A paradise in provance. A great hotel, wonderful staff, A 5 stars chef resturant. The best place to stay in provance
Review 93:Wi-fi was not working in room.
Review 94:Room beautifully decorated.
Review 95:We didn't t have enough time there to fully enjoy the surroundings!
Review 96:We loved the beautiful setting.
Review 97:Food, Pool, Quiet hotel, Excellent staff
Review 98:their was nothing to dislike
Review 99:food, service & friendly atmosphere.
Review 100:We recommend including an address that could be used in the GPS navigation system. We did not know the region and it took us a while, and a phone call to the hotel before finding our way.
Review 101:We stayed here during our honeymoon. The highlight was the dinner at Mas Valentine's restaurant, which we recommend even if you are not a guest at the hotel. The rooms are charming and very comfortable. If we stay there again, we would certainly try to book one of the rooms outside with lovely gardens in their entrance.
Review 102:The setting is just what you would dream of when you think of Provence- beautiful stone farmhouse with shutters, French doors to the outside, parklike setting with a large pool, lots of geraniums and roses. The rooms were very nice and the bathrooms up to date. Breakfast included in a lovely stone dining room with an old fireplace. Upscale restaurant on site. Charming owners Guy and Marie.
Review 103:That we had to leave.
Review 104:Paradise on earth! Our 3 nights at Mas Valentine were the highlight of our 14 day trip to France. Excellant room, great bed, wonderful bathroom, terrific shower, exceptional staff!
Review 105:Disappointing breakfast (basic French breakfast: coffee and croissant, without any choice like eggs, fruits, cheese...). A buffet would be nice, especially given they have a great chef in the kitchen. Restaurant is excellent but expensive
Review 106:New and comfortable facilities, friendly staff, excellent eco and green approach (eggs from the farm, vegetable garden), good location to visit the area
Review 107:Too far to walk in to st remy.
Review 108:We thought the staff were really friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast but expensive for coffee and croissant - should be included in room price. Pretty room with good shower etc.
Review 109:A delightful stay in a beautifully appointed Mas with welcoming owners and staff. I particularly enjoyed dining at the restaurant - the food was delicious and service very attentive. I look forward to returning with my husband for a longer stay in the future.
Review 110:I like everything about Mas valentine. The only negative might be that the dinners were a little to quiet for my taste as we prefer Bistro style so we ate in town most nights.
Review 111:I loved every part of Mas valentine. The owners Marie and Guy could not do enough to make our stay memorable. The hotel was renovated in 2011 and all the facilities including the rooms and bathrooms were unbelievably first class. I couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay close to St. Remy.
Review 112:Like most hotels these days, it lacked shelving or places in the bathroom for toilet bags. No mirrors in the bedroom. A full length one would have been appreciated as well as one over the desk/dressing table.
Review 113:The proprietor and staff were very amicable and ready to please. Our junior suite was on the ground floor with terrace space to sit outside. The food was wonderful and dining outside was perfect in this lovely picturesque setting. There is a dining room inside. The town centre of St Remy de Provence is lovely, though the walk there is about 30 minutes, so a car is preferable.
Review 114:we had a wonderful week at Mas Valentine. Staff were so friendly and thoughtful. Rooms were comfortable and tastefully decorated - bathrooms very well appointed. Breakfasts on the terrace were a highlight - beautiful pastries! We all enjoyed the pool which was kept scrupulously clean - there was plenty of space poolside and a bountiful supply of towels. The owners went out of their way to make us feel welcome and we would definitely return.
Review 115:A touch pricey!
Review 116:Beautifully restored hotel, pool and gardens lovely. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom very tasteful and comfortable.
Review 117:Their is really not anything not to like. Occasionally the staff are under a bit of pressure but that is not really a negative comment.
Review 118:The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help. The location is wonderful. The pool is one of the best I have seen. The food is great. If you want a special location go to Mas Valentine.
Review 119:Not great proximity to the local villages.
Review 120:Rooms were beautiful. Great breakfast included in our rate. We have eaten at some fantastic restaurants in France and Italy. This was one of the best meals we've had. I suggest you ask them to do a wine pairing with your meal. It wasn't cheap but well worth it.
Review 121:The hotel is very relaxing. A very lovely lady Maria who owns the hotel, makes you feel very welcome. All the staff are very polite and genuinely there for your needs.
