Reviews for Le Rodin

Review 1:Nothing really - the location is unusual in a sort of working class suburb but walking distance from the interesting and charming city centre. The website and reviews already highlight the location so it was expected.

Review 2:A surprising hotel - the outside doesn't match the inside! Lovely rooms, excellent staff, great security. Very easy for travelling with a dog.

Review 3:Welcoming and helpful staff - a quiet and spacious location with garden and pool but only a few minutes from the old town on foot or by car/taxi (the latter is recommended if you can't walk too far). Our own terrace facing the garden and convenient secure parking by our own front door. Excellent breakfast, including eggs and bacon, at a higher price than usual but well worth it! Reasonably dog-friendly.

Review 4:A 20/25 minute walk from the centre of Arles and we had great difficulty getting taxis.

Review 5:Very friendly staff, superb facilities, quiet neighbourhood, beautifully kept garden.

Review 6:While the property itself is very nice and well kept the same cannot be said for the neighborhood. It may only be a 15 minute walk to the center of Arles, but I would not recommend doing it after dark.

Review 7:Nice, clean, well appointed room. Newly renovated. Secure location (needed due to surroundings).

Review 8:There was a bad odor in the bathroom, the water in the shower-cabin did not sink good enough. Besides of this, the cleaning was good.

Review 9:Very friendly and helpful personnel

Review 10:We loved Arles and Le Rodin was within a short walk from the old town. You have to walk through the suburbs but it was safe and quiet. The hotel is a lovely oasis with a beautiful pool to cool off. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 11:Room a bit cramped with double and single. Out of town....need car to get there & not walking distance to restaurants.

Review 12:Motel style rooms where you can park right outside, swimming pool, gardens, very welcoming staff, boutique feel, comfortable room. French doors to garden, outside table & chairs.

Review 13:Nothing to report except for the constant winds!!!

Review 14:Friendly owners and there to help you with anything you needed. They arranged a wonderful trip to La Camargue to go horseback riding - everything was perfect!! Couldn't ask for better hosts.

Review 15:No bad experiences at all. A pity it does not have evening dining facility.

Review 16:Very clean. Excellent location for main roads to surrounding area .Very secure with excellent parking. We found walk into Arles fine, though some thought it unpleasant-we thought it was interesting.

Review 17:The hotel should look to make some improvements to breakfast . Instead of coffee from the machine . Fresh coffee would have been a better alternative. The sausages were processed would have been better if they offered fresh farm sausages given the rural location.

Review 18:It was nice and tidy. Staff were very friendly

Review 19:Toilet a bit small to get into.

Review 20:Very nice 4 star motel with big room, fridge and tea making facilities. Our ground floor unit opened onto a small terrace at edge of large lawn with swimming pool. A little way out of the old city of Arles but the staff pointed out there is a free parking lot on the edge of it if you didn't want that extra 20 minute walk. Convenient for getting back on to the highway. Plenty of choice at breakfast. Helpful staff spoke English.

Review 21:There was no holder for the shower head.

Review 22:It was a comfortable room with good facilities in walking distance of the town centre. We needed secure parking for a motorbike. The bed was very soft and there were tea making facilities.

Review 23:Whats not to like! A great small family run hotel.

Review 24:Hotel Le Rodin ideally situated to enjoy the festivities. Pleasant and very friendly staff. Comfortable rooms overlooking charming grounds and good sized pool. Our garden room afforded a small patio on which to enjoy your morning cuppa. 10 minute walk to the Old Town. Masses of very good local restaurants.

Review 25:There is little to dislike. On arrival you are immediately aware that this was built in the style of a motel with rooms opening directly to outside passageways. The outside walls and doors are well weathered but once inside the style of Provence reigns.

Review 26:On the whole this was a very comfortable and convenient place to stay. The location is in the suburbs of Arles about 15-20 mins walk from the centre. It has good parking. The attractive swimming pool set in a grassy square beside the two room blocks with room balconies overlooking it. Breakfast can be eaten on a sunny terrace.

Review 27:Little bit far from downtown. 15 min by foot. Staff was very nice&friendly and gave some good advices about places to visit and very good restaurants in old town.

Review 28:The young woman at the front desk spoke English well and was extremely courteous, professional, and helpful with directions and amenities. The property is a short 15 minute walk from the center of Arles so that parking within the inner city was not necessary. The room was a good size, clean and neat, and the back of the room had a terrace and private garden with a pool.

Review 29:- really slow and not always working wifi

Review 30:- very friendly and helpful staff (booked restaurants, always smiling, even when we asked them to open our safe for 10th time) - good sized, clean room with nice view - nice pool -plenty of car parking space - secure - easy walking distance from centre of town

Review 31:Very welcoming reception, rooms were nice, beds were comfortable. Kids enjoyed a swim in the very clean pool, which has a nice grassed area surrounding it

Review 32:The friendliness in particular of the Staff and the delicious breakfasts.

Review 33:Quite a walk into town but not too much of a problem

Review 34:The pool area was lovely and the staff very friendly!

Review 35:Lovely pool area, friendly staff, good breakfast and handy access to Arles.

Review 36:Not really walking distance to town, no elevator

Review 37:Staff is wonderful, comfortable and roomy

Review 38:nothing

Review 39:pool ,garden and service

Review 40:Accommodation was ideal for our needs mature couple plus grown up daughter. Very helpful providing gluten free breakfast.

Review 41:Too far out of town

Review 42:Car parking available

Review 43:The mosquitoes but the hotel took every precaution

Review 44:All of the above and the pool was fantastic at the end of a day walking

Review 45:No difficulties.

Review 46:Kind helpful staff. Lovely clean pool. Comfortable room and bed. Very good hotel.

Review 47:WIFI connection was terrible, too small family room for 4p.

Review 48:Hospitality, swimming pool, parking

Review 49:We enjoyed the garden and the pool and the Management of the Hotel

Review 50:very kind employee

Review 51:Was just far enough from the city centre that we were nervous walking back to the hotel after 8:30.

Review 52:Lovely staff

Review 53:No negatives

Review 54:Great location, only 10 minute walk into Arles with quiet residential setting. Friendly helpful staff and motel style hotel great for car and access to it.

Review 55:The only problem can be that the hotel is 10-15 minutes drive from thecenter, so if you are traveling without a car, you will need a taxi togo there an back.

Review 56:Very friendly staff, free secure parking, cosy and nice.

Review 57:I stayed at ten 4 star hotels in the last month and this one did not measure up. Infact direction signs to the Hotel and on sight say it is a 3 star Hotel. I think it's a 3 star accomodation. My rating is based on a 4 star standard.

Review 58:The airconditioning did not work and it was impossible to leave the door to the courtyard open because of the mosquitos. The internet connection was extremely slow when it worked at all and we were diconected from the network every two or three minutes. The location was not good it was a long way from town through a seedy neighbourhood, did not feel particularly safe. There were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room. It was overpriced for what was offered there are better options closer to town.

Review 59:The staff were friendly and helpful

Review 60:This is not an hotel it is a motel. The location is accurately stated in terms of the time it takes to walk to the outskirt of the centre but the walk is not particularly pleasant. It is generally littered and unkemt. We stayed 4 nights but wanted to reduce the stay by one night the manager stated that the contract was for 4 nights and that he could not be flexible. Overall not a place I would return to.

Review 61:Clean and reasonably accessible from the centre

Review 62:Professional/courteous proprietor to customer communication skills. Clean and comfortable accomodations with petite yet varied and well stocked breakfast.

Review 63:About a 15 walk to the centre. Car Parking can be difficult in Arles center.

Review 64:Nice breakfast. Free Car Parking. Easy to locate.Quiet. Good location for the Camarge and Avignon touring.

Review 65:1.5Km from town center. Room rate during Feria is a bit high, the breakfast is expensive.

Review 66:Friendly staff. All rooms have a balcony. A nice detail: anti-mosquitodevice in the room (which was very valuable in September!) Pool area isvery nice.

Review 67:We stayed at the Rodin for 8 days with our grown up daughter. It islocated in the pleasant bourgeois suburb of Mon Plaisir, about 5 minutesdrive from Arles. Our rooms were spacious and well equipped with directentrance to the garden and pool. The standard of cleaning wasimpeccable. The owner and his team were invariably friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed with an absence of prohibitory notices and anexcellent breakfast was served until 11.00 - we considered the extracharge good value.for money. The secure parking was also a bonus. Wefound the absence of dining facilities no problem. However, we were notimpressed by our dining experiences in Arles and found parkingdifficult. Instead, we found it much easier to drive about 12 minutes tothe charming village of Fontvielle where there are excellent restaurantssuch as La Table du Meunier and Lou Claveu and easy parking. Beaucaireis a little further afield but also has excellent restaurants on theQuai du General de Gaulle (Le Soleil esp). All in all Le Rodin was ahappy find and we left feeling relaxed and content..

Review 68:The downside is that there is no restaurant and the nearest is in Arles town centre which is a 10-15 min walk.

Review 69:Very good staff. The room was spotless. Nice pool.

Review 70:The design is needing an update. Hehe Many many mosquitos that botheryou at night. The hotel offers one of this stuffs that you connect inthe electrical net to make the mosquitos flew away, but it is notenough. I would recomend the hotel. I was driving, but to get in the oldcity/turistic points, its around 1,5km I guess.

Review 71:The services were great, girls from the reception very very sweet, trying to help with everything and explanining everything!! Rooms arebig, confortable and good. Good place for parking. Nice view to theswimming pool. I would recomend the hotel.

Review 72:It would be great to have the possibility to have dinner or room service at the hotel. There is no restaurant.

Review 73:I likes the hotel Le Rodin. It is very near the center, it is very clean and calm. The relation quality versus price is very good.

Review 74:The bathroom was modern and well decorated but lacked some simplefeatures such as rails for the hand towels, a high level hook for theshower head. The hotel was basically a motel with each room accessed externally and the reception area only open during the day. There was no restaurant. Buffet breakfast was OK but expensive.

Review 75:Very effective air conditioning in the room. Comfortable room withbalcony. Swimming pool (although we did not use it). Effective securitygate closed at night with keypad entry.

Review 76:Shower stall only had a hand held shower wand which was difficult to use when washing one's hair.

Review 77:Very friendly staff. Clean room with comfortable bed. Secure parking area.

Review 78:The staff are lovely and really helpful. The hotel is nice, clean, andthe pool area is great too. However eur 200 a night for a 3 star thoughit is not a fair price, it is hardly a beautiful boutique hotel and Ihave paid less than that to stay in much more luxurious hotels in Parisfor example. The wi-fi is erratic, and I was travelling without a carand the hotel is a 20 min walk from the centre of Arles, which duringthe day is ok but meant that when arriving late in the evenings I hadto take a taxi. Overall, the hotel is great, but a little pricey forwhat it is

Review 79:Small rooms, absolutly no space for luggage. Price was far to high forwhat you get!

Review 80:Very nice garden and pool area. All rooms had either balcony or terrace.

Review 81:The downside to the pleasant, quiet residential location was lack ofanywhere close by to eat in the evening. The public bus service to andfrom the city centre stops at 7.30 in the evening even when the photofestival is on.

Review 82:I liked being able to walk from my room through the French windows tothe swimming pool. The staff were friendly and helpful and spokeperfect English!

Review 83:Only possible disadvantage was location, in a quiet residential area but a good fifteen minute walk to town centre, so car or taxi might be needed

Review 84:Lovely motel style hotel with large air conditioned rooms, spotlessly clean. Rooms opened direct onto pleasant garden with pool. Very friendly welcoming staff. Good secure car parking right outside rooms

Review 85:Just outside the city of Arles yet only 15 minute walk to the centre. Good hotel, secure parking which is difficult in Arles. Very clean room overlooking garden and swimming pool. Helpful staff. A very pleasant self service breakfast. We were only there one night so did not sample the pool but it all looked very nice.

Review 86:The wifi is not available throughout the hotel. we had a tablet and could not use it in our room. they do have a rs232 cable connection which most laptops could use but tablets don't have that type of connection.

Review 87:the staff at the rodin are excellent and took care of us very well. the rooms were large and modern. the beds comfortable. the best part was the location was in a quiet residential neighborhood and yet only a few blocks from the old town. it was a very convenient location for day trips to the surrounding area.

Review 88:breakfasts expensive

Review 89:very comfortable room, ground floor. opening onto lawn and lovely swimming pool

Review 90:Secure comfortable and very pleasant surroundings

Review 91:Quite simple.

Review 92:Very close to the historic centre -several minutes by car!

Review 93:It is about 20 minutes walk to the City center

Review 94:great pool and secure parking

Review 95:We found no faults

Review 96:Friendly and very helpfull staff.

Review 97:We have stayed at this hotel before and it is ideal if you wish to exploire Arles over a few days.

Review 98:Too many mosquitos

Review 99:Excellent location for access to Arles (15min walk) or travelling to other site-seeing venues, eg Nimes, Aix-en-Procence, etc

Review 100:It's pretty expensive.

Review 101:The pool and the access to the pool from room is excellent. The reason we stayed there.

Review 102:a lot of mosquitoes
