Reviews for Vent d'Ouest

Review 1:We used to sail into the Harbour at Fecamp so this was a bit of a nostalgia trip. The hotel couldn't have been suited better to a couple of old sea dogs like us. The whole theme of the hotel is based on the sea and things nautical , an absolute delight.

Review 2:Small double bed, bathroom a bit basic, difficult to find plugs for charging

Review 3:Easy walking distance to the town centre and the beach, free parking on the road, characterful marine-themed building and room (including a wooden seagull), good WiFi, efficient receptionist, separate toilet with sink

Review 4:If the luggage is heavy it's hard to climb the staircase

Review 5:Very good disposition, close to historic objects and recreation area, pleasant personnel, parking place is easy to find

Review 6:It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Also, it would have been nice to have a selection of cold meats at breakfast.

Review 7:There's nothing not to like. The room was lovely. Nicely decorated, very clean and a very comfortable bed. The double glazing was fantastic as it cut out all the noise from the busy road in front of the hotel. The receptionist was very warm and friendly.

Review 8:Friendly and helpful welcome and advice. The decor is fabulous. It includes a cleverly executed nautical theme that is fun and interesting. There is not a detail out of place. The space in the room was exceptional and very well laid out.

Review 9:The welcome by the proprietrix and her advice on a restaurant for dinner. The hotel is a short walk from the Tourist Information Office and town centre.

Review 10:No dedicated parking, although there is free parking on the street in front of the hotel. I couldn't find a kettle nor cups in the room, but I haven't asked for those, it could be just issue of my laziness.

Review 11:Location, staff, cleanliness, internet, breakfast.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Handy location by the old town & nearby rail station (but be warned that the line to Fecamp is closing from 25th October). Moderate sized room with good facilities. I had a room at the front but the street outside was very quiet at night. Shower room was OK & not too cramped (beware of the step up to it). Family run hotel & the owner doesn't speak any English but she was able to explain herself to me alright.

Review 14:There was very little information given to us at check in about the hotel and surrounding area. Staff did not really assist us with our particular requirements - first night arriving late - for example re parking. No heating or means to dry wet clothing. No tea making facilities. Whilst it was not a particular concern of ours, some customers might like to be aware that very little English is spoken. The reception is unmanned for most of the day.

Review 15:The hotel was very clean, and the breakfast facilities were good. Staff generally were friendly.

Review 16:The were spiral staircase, it was hard to get our suitcases to the third floor.

Review 17:The rooms were very cozy. There were three of us, we got a room from two separate rooms. They were quite small, but it did not bother us. The bathroom and restroom were separated. Receptionist that worked in the evenings did not speak in English, but we managed to understand her from the gestures. Receptionist who worked in the mornings did speak English and was very helpful. There was plenty of space to park a car nearby, for free. The grocery store was not that far, around 5-7 minutes away by foot. The hotel is located near old church and near the port. The sunset is very beautiful out there in the beach.

Review 18:Superb location - quiet but central to Honfleur Facilities excellent - clean and well presented Comfortable beds - slept well. Private Parking

Review 19:Friendly staff, very clean, nice decoration, free parking right outside (at the white lines on the road)

Review 20:Excellent value for money. Quiet and peaceful despite being on a busy main road. Easy parking on road outside.

Review 21:It;s quite cold in a room even in summer

Review 25:Room size and central location good. Limited facilities outside of room. Good for overnight stay.

Review 29:Really enjoyed my stay at vent d'ouest friendly funny staff lovely twin room with two double beds great views made my stay even more enjoyable!

Review 30:Close to sea front and a wide choice of restaurants. Street parking was available nearby and free when we arrived early evening.

Review 40:no wifi

Review 41:good breakfast

Review 42:not enough power sockets in the room

Review 43:Location, breakfast, quiet, clean

Review 44:No AC. Had to open window when sleeping

Review 45:Location Comfort

Review 46:We were a group of three arriving on bikes early evening after ridng from Le Havre. We were made very welcome, given all necessary information and allowed to put the bikes on the terrace at the rear of the hotel. Water bottles filled next day from bottled water without any hesitation. Easy walk to harbour and good local restaurants and we had an excellent continental breakfast before departing.

Review 47:Not possible to run hot water in both shower and sink at the same time Hard time communicating with reception

Review 48:Great location Comfortable bed Nice sitting area downstairs

Review 49:1. We informed the hotel well in advance that we had bikes but the staff on duty did not seem to know. 2. There was a water problem which resulted in our room being damp. The next morning we told the staff and it transpired that they knew and had given us the room regardless! This is very poor customer service!

Review 50:It is well situated and reasonable value for money.

Review 51:It was tricky with the parking due to the fact that next day there was the market and we had to remove the car before 06:00am, otherwise it would get fined, for the rest nothing, good value for money.

Review 52:Friendly personnel, close to the old city and the port. Good room and value for money.

Review 53:-staff is not able to speak English

Review 54:- Friendly and helpful staff -nice atmosphere, the hotel was designed like a ship -great breakfast with incredibly good coffee, fresh croissants, good tea and cake - daily room service with fresh towels - good location for exploring the city and the surrounding area (bus station and railway is a 2-minute-walk)

Review 55:Only one lady operated the hotel and she was not always available. The front door was locked until 3:00 PM, but she did not open until after 5:00 PM. She also did not speak English. Some of the rooms are accessible only from an outside courtyard, and we had to climb stairs (with lugage) that were wet after a rain. There was no parking - you had to take a chance on the street.

Review 56:It was clean and convenient. The rooms were reasonably priced. A continental breakfast was also reasonably priced.

Review 57:We stayed in a room giving on to an interior courtyard - very nice from a design point of view but a bit noisy if it rains - as it did.

Review 58:Good value for money for an overnight stay.

Review 59:Close to bus and train stations and also town centre. Good first floor courtyard room. Plenty of space and large flat screen TV. Very pleasant, helpful staff.

Review 60:Central position, although room was still very quiet. Price was very competitive. Easy on street parking right outside. Convenient for walking to all facilities.

Review 61:The room was a little small, necessitating an occasional 'shuffle'. Clothes storage and bathroom shelf space limited but OK for a short stay. Neither detracted from the overall enjoyment of the stay.

Review 62:Friendly welcome. Pleasant ambience. Superb value-for-money breakfast with good choices and best coffee in France. Good location by the port and near the town centre, with lots of parking available nearby (when no events on in town!)

Review 63:The bath rooms are rather cramped.

Review 64:A charming little hotel. For three people we were given a suite of twobedrooms; both with own bath roomt rather than the usual fold-out bed.Very clean and comfortable. Equi-distant from sea front and the oldtown. There is no private parking but free kerb-side parking isavailable adjacent to the hotel

Review 65:Good value for money. Nice staff, although French speaking only. Located 5 minutes from the beach of Fécamp. We stayed here to explore the coast of Haute-Nomandie.

Review 66:Excellent position......parking no problem.......V. Good breakfast andstaff very friendly. Room was great size and very quiet........thevalue for money was as good as it gets..........do visit the abbaye dela trinite

Review 67:Very good value for money. The hotel interiour looked nice and very new. The rooms are very well isolated (also from the street there are hardly any noises with the windows closed). The lady at the reception was very nice and had a great recommendation for a nice restaurant. All-in-all a very nice experience and definetely a hotel we can recommend to anybody who wants to stay in Fécamp!

Review 71:Convenience to the port and the restaurants. Great restaurants and the sunset from the port is lovely.

Review 72:great location for harbour & also the town...easy free parking...plenty of restaurants to suit all tastes

Review 73:They were able to store our tandem securely which is a plus. Very comfortable and clean room. Staff did not speak English but very accommodating.
