Reviews for Le Mas de la Feniere

Review 1:This is a lovely hotel out in the countryside, yet at the same time very close to the main road and motorways. It has a lovely charm and is very peaceful. I would love to spend more than 1 night there and in the late spring / summer to enjoy the pool and the terrace in the evening.

Review 2:Our room (ground level) was dark like a cave (ask for first floor room!). Good breakfast but expensive (11 euro!). In general it's a little bit too expensive.

Review 3:Good location in the countryside (if you have a car) not far from the town. Nice pool (even if not enough warm).

Review 4:very bad cleanness. when it was opened, the smell is just a mix of damp, smoke and toilet... flies ... you can imagine the worst, the bed is obvious won't be dry in that condition. horrible but saying the hotel is full so we didn't have a choice.

Review 5:nice dinner nice wine in the restaurant.

Review 6:Cleanliness of bedsheets and bedspreads were suspect; Location was very remote and could not be accessed by public transport; Rooms had feel of neglect and disuse; The weekend receptionist could not converse fluently in English

Review 7:old blanket om bed sheets scatchy.no water in rooms or coffee tea facilitys managment took our fruit of us told not allowed to eat or have soft drinks in room.

Review 8:exteria nice ,lobby nice

Review 9:Traveling with our 12yr old daughter. Outside dinner was fantastic. Breakfast was great. Pool was warm and fun. We had two small rooms nextdoor to each other & worked out great. Not far from Arles center if you have a car.

Review 10:Bed was old and squicky. No view at all from room and bad smell near carpark

Review 11:We enjoyed the beautiful countryside and charming building. Good breakfast and nice poolarea.

Review 12:We stayed over for 2 nights during a roadtrip. We stayed all along in hotels in this priceclass and this one was the best of the older hotels. Room is spacious and bathroom neat. We had no view at all but it did not bother us as we were touring the whole day. Breakfast was great and outside area beautiful Will go back

Review 13:Evening menu limited. Some people may not like distance to town. No problem for us since we drove. Alternative restaurants not close.

Review 14:The hotel is in the middle of a horse farm so you are away from highway noise. The historic feel is nice. Good comfortable room.

Review 15:nothing!

Review 16:Location was great....tranquil, idyllic setting in the country, yet within 10 minutes of busy Arles. Breakfast was full of variety, color and flavors. Pools were beautiful....we enjoyed the hot tub before our swim. Staff was kind, gracious and helpful.

Review 17:Breakfast service not always helpful. Virtually no storage in the room. Room and shower quite tight. Access up a rough road.

Review 18:Very helpful in arranging as we arrived late. Good breakfast. Most staff very helpful. Good location for going around the area, but a ten minute drive into Arles centre.

Review 19:That we only stayed for one night!

Review 20:Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble Quality pool area, bar, hot tub etc Simple check in Calm, relaxed atmosphere

Review 21:This hotel needs a little love and attention (particularly the garden) and perhaps a few less flashing coloured lights. It could be a a cracker, particularly if the chef stays around.

Review 22:The dinner was excellent, well above its star grade.

Review 23:The hotel is 300m away from the main road. There are two brown signs beside the road and it's easy to miss them when you're driving. You need to learn the map careully before you go there. No elevator and you need to carry your luggage to the second floor. The starff speaks limit English.

Review 24:The environment is very quiet and there is horse group nearby. Free parking area and free wifi.

Review 25:Bathroom a bit dated, need some updating.

Review 26:Excellent breakfast, good quality bedding

Review 27:ok

Review 28:comfortable place to stay lovely staffs

Review 29:bad smell!

Review 30:Friendly staff, nice pool and good food -- would recommend to others

Review 31:location for travelling around Provence

Review 32:Great location, just outside Arles. Very friendly. Excellent local food.

Review 33:Not enough lighting in our room.

Review 34:Very relaxing. Pools lovely. Attractive decor. Great staff: friendly, helpful, skilled in several languages.

Review 35:Il ristorane e il fatto che la domenica sera l'albergo si svuota dello staff e gli ospiti vengono lasciati da soli.

Review 36:L'atmosfera

Review 37:18th century farmhouse with air conditioning and a tv, hard to find off the beaten track in France! Great atmosphere.

Review 38:We loved the staff. They were very friendly and in the morning when they came in they often offered us fresh cherries.mmmm

Review 39:The pool area is a great place to relax after exploring the region. And there is an enormous amount to do in the area.

Review 40:Quick check in and out - good service. Breakfast very good

Review 41:Great place as a base to explore the region. Excellent restaurant. Comfortable and quiet room. Friendly staff.

Review 42:No personal service; Schimmel ( don't know the english word) in the bathroom;

Review 43:Stuff dont kniw much english and arent very helpful

Review 44:Nice room with a huge bed. lovely facilities outside includig a pool

Review 45:Helpful, friendly staff.

Review 46:No eating or drinking in room Size of some rooms (22) Limited menu

Review 47:Price Charm Proximity to Arles

Review 48:Bedroom was tired

Review 49:Excellent evening meals Pleasant out of town setting Helpful staff

Review 50:The property was convenient for bird watching at the Crau. The food in the restaurant was excellent.

Review 51:Utterly inflexible on consuming our own food and drink, which is a real problem with small children, especially as they do not offer any suitable food for small children. Being charged €5 for corkage.

Review 52:Childrens play equipment, hot tub, swimming pool, super silent air conditioning, plenty of parking, staff were friendly.

Review 53:Excellent location a few miles outside Arles. Nice rooms and a lovely terrace where you can have breakfast under mulberry trees. Private parking and an inviting pool area.

Review 54:Very helpful and friendly staff. Food was excellent, epecially in the evenings. The hotel is set in fields, back from the road. It has a tree shaded patio with open countryside views. New swimming pools are being added. It is a short and easy drive into Arles.

Review 55:The staff were friendly and helpful. The chef produced a vegetarian option to the fixed menu at very short notice and the resulting meal was delicious. The dining room is very welcoming with a roaring log fire.

Review 56:Wonderfull view from the bedroom. Peacefull and quiet place to rest. We felt like in home. The owner of the hotel and his family where very friendly with us. Place very well located, and close to the main point of interest of La Provence.

Review 57:There was the odd sign the attention to detail may be slipping, in our room one of the bedside "tables was coming away from its fittings, also the toilet unit was loose (but not a problem). You need a car also as it is situated in a rural setting (I like) and if you want alternative eateries you need to drive about 1.5 km.

Review 58:We have been to this hotel 2 years ago and were keen to revisit. We were not disappointed, the owners had changed but there was still a friendly and professional welcome from the staff. The food is great, good value if you choose the "half board" option. Breakfast includes scrambled egg and cooked sausage.

Review 59:Difficult to find owing to limited signage and being set back from the road.

Review 60:Lovely garden setting, fine restaurant and has the character of the French countryside.

Review 61:Rooms were small and dull. Cleanliness was poor and I ordered 2 roomsone for another couple, however, they did not want to separate theinvoices so my invoice although I paid only for my room indicatedboth rooms

Review 62:Athe location and the open green spaces

Review 63:dark rooms and loads of mosquitoes that came through the vents in the bathroom got bitten badly staff not really bothered

Review 64:loved the garden and location was ok we had a wonderful huge bed

Review 65:poor signposting from the main road. Not at all clear when approaching from the west. Sign on wall of house covered with vines. Next extra warning from both ways.

Review 66:everything. Excellent location very friendly people. excellent restaurant.

Review 67:We loved all of it!

Review 68:This was a fantastic place ro stay for the family. The facilities were excellent and the swiming pool was a great bonus. The meals, breakfast and evening, were delicious and the environs delightful. Staff extremely friendly, warm and welcoming.

Review 69:Room rather dark. No comfortable chair to sit in.Shower very slippery and dangerous to get out of. Small bar/lounge with TV always on. Driveway to hotel in poor condition and danger to car's suspension

Review 70:Friendly staff. Clean room.Excellent value dinner. Nice Grounds. Away from main road, so quiet. convenient for Arles, Nimes etc

Review 71:Countryside location within a short drive of Arles. Hushed and peaceful environment in a grand old country residence. Traditional food and wines at reasonable prices. Option of eating outside in a the garden and the swimming pool well kept and at a good temperature.

Review 72:Everything! The food was wonderful. The gardens were a delight. The hotel was very interesting with it's coziness and uniqueness. It was close for day trips to many cities that we wanted to visit, but was in the beautiful countryside. Delightful and friendly atmosphere.

Review 73:The building was a beautiful old farmhouse set in wonderful countryside, but close to Arles town centre. The food was very good and the staff very friendly

Review 74:Bill a bit too much on the high side for the rooms but the food was very good and reasonably priced.

Review 75:Friendly owners, good food and excellent natural ambiance.

Review 76:The water battery in the bathroom did not work properly

Review 77:Great location (if you are travelling by car), excellent restaurant with daily menues, friendly staff

Review 78:We found the breakfasts to be fairly uninteresting. It was disappointingthat there was no brown bread on offer and while there was some freshfruit available, the choice was limited to apples, bananas or oranges. We would have preferred a wider selection (eg, pineapple, melon, grapes, etc). One other minor criticism was that the sign for the hotel on theroad was not very visible or prominent, making it too easy to miss theturning onto the driveway to the hotel.

Review 79:Great location - very quiet in a very attractive countryside location. The hotel itself was very well-kept, both internally and externally andthe staff were most welcoming. We had dinner on 3 of our 4 nights (therestaurant was closed on the 4th) and the meals were excellent.

Review 80:Not where google maps says it is. Not a problem with the hotel at all,but just a warning for others relying on google to find it!

Review 81:Large rooms, nice surroundings. Friendly staff.

Review 82:The very obnoxious company of few ubiquitous flies during the meals at the restaurant

Review 83:Very welcome and enjoyable the attention to the least detail which may improve the confort of the guests (most of the times with minimal economic effort): A true and innate disposition towards hospitality

Review 84:We thought we had booked within Arles and had a lot of difficultyfinding the auberge, as it is approx 5 km outside Arles central and offthe main road. The coordinates for this turnoff are n43*38.932'E004*41.339

Review 85:Clean, comfortable accomodation although a little dated in furnishingsand facilities. Friendly, helpful staff - for bar service and eveningmeals (except on Sunday) Reasonable access to other tourist towns eg.Nimes, Avignon as long as you have a car.

Review 86:Given the ambiance and the location, the hotel could have added many quaint touches to give it an edge. Instead, it doesn't quite come up to par. There was no tea/coffee service in the room, and we ran out of soap/shampoo indicating the staff wasn't regularly checking to see if the dispensers needed refilling. The staff, while pleasant, did not go out of their way to give us more information about Arles or the surrounding area - something comparable hotels have offered in neighboring towns/cities. The wifi is spotty in the room as advertised, but it was spotty even in the public areas. The long driveway to the lodge is unpaved.

Review 87:It is in a beautiful location though it is hard to find. There is absolutely no street noise and it is very dark at night. It is definitely unique.

Review 88:The facilities and rooms are looking a little tired now, it needs a bit of referbishment and updating here and there. The restaurant was fine but had very limited choices and ambitions. The breakfast was adequate but agin a bit more imagination and effort could have made it much better.

Review 89:The siruation is excellent and it is a good place to explore Arles and much of the region if you prefer as we do to stay outside the city. The staff were friendly and helpful and the Hotel is a very traditional Logis.

Review 90:The brekfeast could do with a tune up - make is less 'industrial' and more personal

Review 91:Friendly staff - nice rooms, peace and quite - a great nights sleep!

Review 92:Wi-fi wasn't great - but then we were on holiday!

Review 93:We had a lovely one night stay - the auberge has a very tranquil setting and we were made to feel very welcome.

Review 94:Just the street noise from the road but it was not too bad

Review 95:Loved the beauty of the countryside, food and appearance of the hotel I felt it was a luxury hotel with a very budget friendly price

Review 96:The location was superb, peaceful as off roads but easy to access backto road network.Beautiful large room full of character ,superb diningand @22euro,s 4 meal of the day, excellent value for money.Staff veryfriendly and nothing seemed to be too much trouble.

Review 97:The location five kms out of town was in gorgeous countryside. We lovedthe house, garden and swimming pool after a day in the town. The foodwas also delicious.

Review 98:Good location in quiet countrside setting few minutes drive from Arles. I liked the swimming pool area with lots of trees for dappled sunlight and enough deckchairs for everyone. Breakfast location on terrace was lovely too. We arrived on a Sunday and they were not providing meals that night so I cannot comment on the cooking.

Review 99:The only thing that I thought odd was that for the few days we werethere, almost all of the other guests were probably 50+. I had travelplans every day and wasn't there to mingle so it wasn't an issue.

Review 100:I really enjoyed our stay here. The owners are very nice andaccommodating, speaking both English and French. The rooms were veryclean, the place was quiet and relaxing. The food is also very good.

Review 101:A beautiful and welcoming countryside place located convenient to manyattractions of Provence. Excellent restaurant with relaxing ambience andhighly professional service.

Review 102:There was nothing to dislike.

Review 103:The evening meal we had was excellent. Our room was very comfortable and the heated swimming pool provided welcome relaxation.

Review 104:The toilette is very, vey small. If a guest is claustrophobic it’simpossible to use it with the door closed. The bathroom is also verysmall. The sheets had a hole and it was patched. The small carpets nearthe bed were torn. 98€/Night (breakfast, 10€/person, was excluded) isnot so cheap but it's better then other hotels in the same pricecategory in France. .

Review 105:The very good position near Arles and other cities around. The place isvery cute and the staff very kind. It's a good "base" for visiting thezone. The parking is free.

Review 106:Room was very small, view from the room on backyard roof, dirty, messy, bathroom far from being clean, bathtub blocked, old furniture, no heating in the room and one small blanket only, very limited number of tv channels. Buffet breakfast OK but tables could have been laid, breakfast room looked very unpersonal, nice house but very unpersonal feeling about it. The pictures on your site are good !!

Review 107:absolutely fantastic, food was excellent, great location, thank you very much

Review 108:Very limited menu.

Review 109:Peaceful surroundings. So much better than being in a busy town

Review 110:Personal contact with staff.

Review 111:Very little English speaking staff

Review 112:Quite pieceful farm

Review 113:No negatives.

Review 114:Food at the restaurant is fantastic.

Review 115:Difficult to find the hotell!

Review 116:Everything functioned very good! A nice and charming place!

Review 117:Nothing

Review 118:A great hotel. Good food and excellent staff. A good hotel for visiting Arles.
