Reviews for Roosecote Guest House
Review 1:Proprietor went out on the evening of our stay, got drunk & then served us a terrible breakfast the next day....over one hour later than we had requested it....clearly sleeping off the hangover!
Review 2:The room was lovely and large, in an old property with lots of character. Off the beaten track - nice & quiet.
Review 3:Toilet was on first floor, my bedroom was on ground... not a big issue but I was concious of waking others in the middle of the night.
Review 4:Owners were great, helpful and proffessional throughout. Location is just outside Barrow in Furnace and unbelievable quiet,. Great value for money.
Review 5:Low mirror in the bathroom made shaving difficult. En-suite would have been nice.
Review 6:Quiet rural location, yet close to Barrow, and with good food and drink available within walking distance.
Review 7:location a bit out the way but not too bad. shared bathroom isn't ideal.
Review 8:Host was very nice. Bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was top class. very clean.
Review 9:The location is very quiet and a litle out of the way but what a great night's sleep! Very clean and friendly and a lovely cooked English breakfast to set us up for the day. I would stay again.

Review 11:A lovely Farmhouse setting, warm welcome from the owner, immaculate and clean
Review 12:only thing stopping this getting full marks is no en suite, there are two bathrooms available so minimal disruption so I can live with this, in fact, I have made a continuing booking I rate it so well
Review 13:Friendly Owner, nothing too much trouble, very helpful, pristinely clean, lovely stay

Review 15:Quite location with good views over countryside. Owner supportive during stay giving advice about area.
Review 16:No on-suite, and the time for breakfast was far too early..7-30am-8-30am...on a Saturday is crazy!!!
Review 17:Rolltop bath, although it was in a shared bathroom...
Review 18:More bacon and egg in the same sandwich, be experimental with spices and flavours for christ sake. Breakfast is the most inventive and important meal of the day
Review 19:Clean, comfortable and smelling nice! The place has WiFi and clean sheets everyday. The mints are an extra idiot! Does everything on the tin when your staying. The middle of nowhere and ironic the centre of everywhere! Stay if you value your ethnic!
Review 20:Entrance to parking is very restricted, although ther is ample parking.
Review 21:As we were in Barrow for a family funeral it was an ideal environment for all the family to be together with all the benefits of home.
Review 22:No ensuite.
Review 23:My hubby and I and our 8 year old granddaughter returned from theRoosecote Guest House yesterday and hubby and I are already planning areturn visit. We made this booking as we were taking our granddaughterto the South Lakes Wild Animal Park. What an amazing welcome wereceived, nothing was too much trouble for Paul and Mel and the GuestHouse is a real credit to them. The rooms are comfortable andimmaculately clean and the breakfast is delicious with various choicesfor various appetites, Hubby and I had the traditional full English withgranddaughter having scrambled egg and bacon followed by two dishes ofcereal!!!!! The Guest House is situated in beautiful countryside but nottoo isolated if you want to go out to eat or have a drink. At the end oflane Paul and Mel keep their two horses and our granddaughter wasdelighted to be able to pick apples from the tree in the garden to go tofeed the horses. Whilst we were at the field the heavens opened and suchis the consideration of this lovely couple that Paul came out to meet uswith umbrellas so that we would not get wet. We did not feel like guestsbut more like friends and this small Guest House could teach these bigHoteliers a trick or two in hospitality. We'll look forward toseeing you soon Paul and Mel.
Review 24:We'd highly recommend the roosecote guest house, Paul and Mel couldnt do enough for us! Spotlessly clean house and rooms, nicely cooked grilled breakfast, not greasy, we'd definitely stay here again! 11/10!

Review 55:Lovely and friendly, very clean and fresh. Very helpful
Review 56:Very nice and clean B&B with all conforts. Staff was very kind and helpful.
Review 57:Nothing, eveything was prefect.
Review 58:The guest house is in a great, out of the way location surrounded by countryside and wildlife. It's only a 5 minute cab journey from the centre of Barrow which cost £5 each way. The owners are really freindly and helpful. The room, bathroom and living area are all really well furnished and clean with modern decoration. It is a comfortable, nice place to stay. Breakfast caters for all tastes and the full english was really nice and not greasy, fresh eggs from the chickens in the garden was a highlight. They are dog and family freindly. I have stopped in places far more epxensive that could learn something from this guest house.
Review 59:Non ensuite rooms were not ideal, however there are two shared bathrooms, cleaned to a high standard, which did not pose a problem. Do not let this put you off staying.
Review 60:Warm Welcome Location Breakfast Comfortable, Clean & Quiet Room Dining room and cutlery available for heating / eating food
Review 61:The only comment would be the lack of washing-up facilities in the dinning area for small personal items (babies bottles etc) but Paul and Mel tell us they are adjusting the set-up to include a sink etc.
Review 62:We liked all aspects of our shrot stay at Roosecote, Paul and Mel were available when needed and left us to our own devices. The bed rooms spacious and well appointed, beds and linen of high quality and the carpets luxurious (throughout). Bathrooms (2) of a high quality with excellent fittings and lashings of hot water. The sitting rooms had glorious leather sofas (so much so that we are shopping for our own versions) and the Sky Package delivered what the kids and adults needed, not only in the sitting room but also in each bedroom. The dinning area was good with a large larder fridge. All together an excellent facility and so bright and airy.
Review 63:Lovely old farm on the outskirts of Barrow in Furness. Modernised to a high standard, very warm & welcoming. Great nights sleep in very comfortable bed & good breakfast.
Review 64:Out of the way of city but not to far away !! Friendly couple and clean place
