Reviews for Les Grains d'Argent Dizy - Epernay
Review 1:The location is very convenient and the windows are double glazed and the garden landscaped to lead into the view, the country views over vineyards beautiful so you feel that you are away from it all yet the road is close by for convenience. Our third or fourth stay. Dinner not cheap but extremely good and good value in view of the very high standard.
Review 2:When we arrrived at 20:00 the reception was closed, the bar and restaurant as well. Nobody to help us, explain things etc... In other words we got hotel without the hotel service... The next day they prepared breakfast and put it on the bill, when we did not order it...
Review 3:we were alone in the hotel
Review 4:Myself and my younger sister were travelling through, so the location was perfect - not far off the beaten track. (We are not really a mature couple.) We arrived late due to a road accident we got stuck in. We telephoned ahead as we had a table booked in the restaurant. They were fine with that and we ate an hour late. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom exceptionally clean. The food in the restaurant was a gastronomic delight.
Review 5:The percolator coffee at breakfast did not meet the hotel standards.
Review 6:Small but Well equipes rooms. Separate toilet was a plus. Good but rather pricy food.
Review 7:As often found, the room was compact with only one chair to sit on, which leaves one person having to sit on the bed. Not ideal for the elderly guest.
Review 8:Excellent location for a visit to the champagne area.
Review 9:Close to a main road so noise could be an issue dependent on room location and outdoor leisure in the summer months.
Review 10:The room and it's view was superb with a impressive restaurant and breakfast area.
Review 11:The hotel was located beside a busy roundabout at the entrance to an industrial estate. Dinner was significantly overpriced.
Review 12:The hotel was in a good location to visit the champagne region.
Review 13:From the moment we stepped into this hotel it only got better. The stafe were very friendly and welcoming and the owner, Annabelle was simply enchanting. She epitomizes everything you could expect from a small well run hotel. She was informing of the local area, on the ball, engaging and had a great sense of humour. In short she and her staff made our short break one to remember. DId I forget the food??? What an excellent chef; 5***** food at reasonable prices for such quality and a very good selection of wines toboot!!!
Review 14:- They did not accept Amex credit card and there was no sign at reception that inform clients about this. - they did not call me to wake me up, as they promise, the day of my departure
Review 15:The room was confortable; the breakfast was really delicious even though a bit pricey( 15 euro)
Review 16:it was a shame that not even the bar was open on Sunday evening after a hard day's sightseeing
Review 17:A lovely hotel in a great location. We had booked a family room but there were none available so were offered either a put u up bed in our room or the adjoining room for our 13 year old. She was quite happy about that! We had a lovely meal on the first night and a good breakfast
Review 18:Given price, lack of tea/coffee facilities in room, nor mini bar, disappointing. Room small, but comfortable. No garden or terrace to sit out in. Restaurant extraordinarily expensive, and as breakfast 15 euros per person, we didn't stop in the morning.
Review 19:Very comfortable bed and super shower. Decor simple and stylish.
Review 20:It's on a roundabout, which isnt obvious from the photos. Not too noisy though. The bar is in the reception area. No outside seating.
Review 21:Comfortable room and clean, attractive bathroom. Views over green fields.
Review 22:There was nothing we disliked but were disappointed with the site.
Review 23:The staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent. I had perhaps without good reason imagined that it was sited amongst vineyards whereas in reality it's just off a fairly busy roundabout with no outdoor terrace, but to be fair you can see the vineyards from the dining room.
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:Everything, staff very pleasant and helpful especially Sandys who could not do enough for us so thank you to here and the morning receptionist/cleaner who found a charging cable for our mobile which we forgot again thank you, most hotels would just say sorry no.
Review 26:Restaruant very expensive and menu restrictive. They would be better in making it more people friendly. Staff did not speak English Continental breakfast at € 30 euros was a joke had better at the service station for lot less
Review 27:Nicely decorated Good parking Well located
Review 28:Don't come to Eperney in a Sunday, as most winery's are shut. Not the hotels fault as they did warn us their restaurant would be closed.
Review 29:Staff were very helpful.
Review 30:Not really value for money. And much as we enjoyed the restaurant it would really help if there were a more informal option. Some, not all, of restaurant staff need some training in making guests feel welcome. At this price more bathroom gels, etc should be provided. €30 breakfast- def not value for money.
Review 31:The comfortable room, sound proofed, nice welcome on arrival, help with luggage to room, fresh colours, good location. Excellent aircon on hottest day. Would def come again if on our route. Some staff members really go out of their way to accommodate your requirements.
Review 32:The rooms were rather small - would have preferred/thought larger for the price.
Review 33:The dinner was amazing, the champagne was delicious. Great location and the staff were extremely helpful.
Review 34:There was nothing to dislike.
Review 35:Great location for a visit to the champagne region of France. Dinner was most enjoyable. I am sure we will use this hotel in the future.
Review 36:Well appointed boutique hotel with very attentive and helpful staff. Food is excellent and served at a comfortable leisurely pace to allow full appreciation. Good champagne menu with prices for all pockets. We had a most enjoyable stay and I would not hesitate to return.
Review 37:Breakfast not included (I prefer inclusive rates).
Review 38:Great location to visit Champagne region Extremely Friendly Staff Great Shower/ Bathroom Very good gastronomique restaurant
Review 39:Not much!
Review 40:Friendly welcome, comfy & spotlessly clean bedroom - bathroom. SUPERB restaurant of "Master Chef" standards! Manager Annabelle Hazard - very much "hands on" with great command of English, having lived in London/Oxford for 8 years. Dining preference for Twinning Association with Beaulieu Hampshire-including Lord Montague! Would suit allcommers who like good food, wine & CHAMPAGNE of course.....
Review 41:no lifts to upstairs so we ended up carrying our own luggage.
Review 42:staff is friendly. rooms are clean and stylish
Review 43:Lack of motion sensors on corridor lights
Review 44:Stylish room A bit small though
Review 45:The room we were given was far too small and therefore uncomfortable
Review 46:An excellent dinner with very fine food and cooking
Review 47:Clean place, the restaurant.
Review 48:The staff need supervising as their inexperience did not complement the eating experience.
Review 49:Very good food
Review 50:Located next to highway, very noisy specially when get room to higway side
Review 51:Breakfast was good
Review 52:No coffe/tea making. Lack of info in room. No safe
Review 53:Good breakfast
Review 54:The pillow was too big
Review 55:Great view over the vineyards Friendly staff
Review 56:Nice hotel and great restaurant. Close/easy drive to city of Épernay.
Review 57:Fabulous view of vineyard! Very clean and very helpful staff and food in dining room was top notch!
Review 58:The place closed down at 10pm. No bar, lights out and worse we were woken by late arriving guests trying to check in
Review 59:Good location, good facilities
Review 60:The restaurant was disappointing, expecting gourmet food ,it was not
Review 61:The setting ,efficient staff
Review 62:very limited space both in the room and in the bathroom; this last is absolutely uncomfortable: no privacy
Review 63:Staff availabilty
Review 64:The shower was all open so the whole bathroom was wet afterwards
Review 65:Very friendly personnel and very cosy room!
Review 66:Shower flooded A shirt from previous guest left in wardrobe Dinner too expensive Breakfast poor and expensive
Review 67:Decor was nice
Review 68:no lift for luggage and older guests
Review 69:close enough to town and plenty of parking
Review 70:The location is excellent for exploring the champagne region. Superb restaurant with view if the vineyards. Very good breakfast.
Review 71:The hotel service was excellent, nice rooms with clean, big bathrooms. Helpfull staff.
Review 72:Very comfortable and convenient location
Review 73:Fab food and friendly helpful staff.
Review 74:Extremely difficult to find - much better signposting needed in the village.
Review 75:Good food and wine
Review 76:Food, Location
Review 77:Carrying luggage upstairs.
Review 78:Clean, modern with high standard of service. Pleasant helpful staff.
Review 79:Our dinner was truly excellent and the service was very good.
Review 80:Restaurant somewhat OTT for an overnight stop over.
Review 81:Rooms comfortable but somewhat dated.
Review 82:The rooms were on the small side
Review 83:The restaurant was lovely .
Review 84:We had wonderful time there! The restorante was excellent.
Review 85:Noisey plumbing Bed too short Smokers going in and out front door disturbed sleep
Review 86:Good was good
Review 87:Expensive bad wine and inexperienced sommelier who argued when the wine was corked. Boring expensive food.
Review 88:Balcony in evening sun
Review 89:Not the boutique hotel it is priced as.
Review 90:Excellent standard of refurbishment
Review 91:The pictures in booking didn't quite correspond to the reality.
Review 92:Quiet, relatively spacious rooms. English speaking staff. Better breakfast than normally in FR.
Review 93:We cannot fault the experience.
Review 94:We had a beautifully decorated family room with stunning views overvineyards and the local countryside. Staff were very friendly andattentive to our needs. The culinary experience for dinner wasfantastic. We are light eaters and struggled to finish all the courses! The hotel is a short drive from Eparney.
Review 95:no room service; no refrigerator in room; limited choices of restaurant menu; restaurant value only fair
Review 96:views over vineyards; proximity to Epernay; comfortable beds; cleanliness
Review 97:The staff were not very attentive and quick to notice if you needed looking after. The resturant/lounge area is closed to guests on a sunday night. We would suggest the lounge area is left open and just he restuarant and bar area closed to allow guests to be able to sit in the lounge area.
Review 98:Hotel was very comfortable, Resturant was excellent.
Review 99:As a party if 17 we had to choose from a limited menu in advance of our stay. Whilst the food was excellent, a larger choice would have been appreciated. Short of staff over the weekend. The bar closed with the restaurant so no chance to socialise with the group after the evening meal
Review 100:Great location. Modern feel.
Review 101:well out of town - not possible to visit Epernay other than by car and parking is not easy in town.
Review 102:Beautiful little hotel on the outskirts of Epernay. Plenty of on site parking.Very helpful and efficient staff. The restaurant is expensive but fabulous. we had a wonderful dinner.
Review 103:Room nice enough but not as good as some others at this price. Location is a but of a transit route but is nice enough when you are on the way south or home to the ferry.
Review 104:Food and wine, friendly, clean
Review 105:The restaurant is ridiculously expensive. Great for a romantic weekend away. Not great for families. The en suite toilet smelt unpleasant and the mini bar made so much noise we had to unplug it. Breakfast was average. The hotel is right next to a main road- although it wasn't noisy. The view of the vines is from the back.
Review 106:The staff were very helpful and friendly, even when one of our children knocked over a plant. They also booked a restaurant for us. The tv has cbeebies!
Review 107:Only offers a gourmet restaurant, which whilst good was limited and expensive. staff were a bit haughty. Parking not secure.
Review 108:Excellent rooms. Good location for staying over for one night.
Review 109:Room not clean hairs cobwebs etc. Poor toilet with seperate bathroom. Extortionate prices for evening meals walked out after seeing prices on menu and asking if they were correct for each person. Meal prices would even be high for super high gourmet dining but hotel is only 3 star so not appropriate.
Review 110:Nice country location. Nice scenery and local vineyards. Breakfast nice but very limited selection.
Review 111:My room was very small and the bathroom was a little basic. Need better signposting for the car park!
Review 112:The restaurant was sensational. A member of staff called Pauline who went out of her way to help and organise visits for us. Totally sound proof which is great considering it's on a round about, you cannot hear a thing. The Champagne route touristique is right there!
Review 113:food: while quality was fair, quantities were far too important location close to a roundabout and large road was disappointing (the pictures on the site look like this is in the middle of a domain)
Review 114:location in the vineyards
Review 115:The hotel had a problem during the rain storms with their electricityand generators. While Dizy is an older area, the hotel building has beenrenovated beautifully, I hope they are able to get this fixed.
Review 116:The location in Dizy is just off the local roads, while it is a verysmall area, its a great launch point to any champagne village. The foodfor lunch and dinner was fantastic with beautiful presentations.Breakfast was wonderful as well. The rooms were nice size and the decorof the hotel was very, very nice. The staff were incredibly helpful-fromthe moment we arrived to when we left. They were lovely to speak with, called locations for us to visit and then followed up with us on ourdays!!!! The views of vineyards are wonderful.
Review 117:We have been travelling around France for 6 weeks staying in 3 Star accommodation. All have been exceptional except this one! We were given 2 disabled rooms and we are not disabled. Bathroom facilities....mirror so low unless you were in a wheel chair you could not see yourself in the mirror. You also had to be 6ft to see yourself in the mirror in the bedroom. Toilet: unless you were at least 5ft 7" your feet could not touch the floor so very uncomfortable when using the toilet. No vineyards to look out on to from our rooms. We looked out onto the car park which was also noisy. There was no tea or coffee facilities in the room. The carpets smelt of cigarette smoke. The television did not work i.e. locking in to english speaking channels although advertised in room that it would. A request was made to fix but this didn't happen. The restaurant looked lovely but it was very expensive and menu was limited with an Asian flare. We found much better value and variety for money in the town of Epernay. This accomodation was also the most expensive in our travels and the most disappointing all around.
Review 118:Not much
Review 119:The photo of the hotel online appeared that it was fully surrounded by vinyards however it was on a busy roundabout just on the outskirts of the town!
Review 120:Beautiful hotel, staff very friendly. Good location for champagne tours.Gourmet restaurant
Review 121:Right off the main road, but there was no noise when in the room.
Review 122:Comfortable and very clean. Near Epernay and other towns in the champagne region of France.
Review 123:We didn't have time to stay another night
Review 124:We stopped in Dizy for our honeymoon and this visit was by far one ofour highlights of our trip through France. The staff were so warm, helpful and professional! We would rate the restaurant and the food andwines as 11/10!!! The evening was above and beyond our expectations.Highly recommend this place. :)
Review 125:The check in time. We arrived before the 4pm check in time hoping to at least leave our bags at reception, but the hotel was completely closed. Called the contact number on the door, but the person on the other line didn't speak english. Because of this we missed the champagne caves as they all close at 5pm and we couldn't lug our baggage around with us. The location is also a bit far from the heart of the town so if you don't have a car you have to catch a cab to get into town and back. There didn't seem to be a bus stop near by, but I can't be certain of that.
Review 126:Clean, airconned, decorated nicely, good size room for france and the first hairdryer in France that actually had enough airflow for me to use.
Review 127:The rooms were very small --not what I would consider as three stars. The meal was good but not extraordinary. White towels were a bit gray. A coupe de champagne was 15 euros!
Review 128:L'accueil etait tres bien. The rooms were quiet but so so small. The staff was very courteous and knowledgeable.
Review 129:Hotel is located right off the highway, but our GPS could not find it. We arrived around 3:30 pm and I room was not ready. We were also informed that the on-premise restaurant was closing for the rest of the day. It was We browsed the menu and were surprised at the expensive menu. Seemed too high for a 3 star hotel. The Reception desk was helpful in making a dinner reservation for us. We were supposed to have free Wifi and they forgot to give us log-in info. After returning from dinner at around 8:30 pm, hotel looked deserted. No one was manning the front desk. When we tried calling reception -all we got was a message. Unfortunately, we never got to use the free Wifi. While researching the property, the on-line room description mentioned a lovely family suite with balcony overlooking the vineyards. the reality was a small balcony that fronted the parking lot. You do get views of some vineyards-but the location is located off a highway.
Review 130:Loved the room set up & decor. Centrally located.
Review 131:The hotel is luxurious and in a most beautiful setting of vineyards. It is situated near a roundabout which cannot be heard in the hotel. The staff are welcoming, attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The restaurant is lovely and the food absolutely amazing. We will definitely stay again.
Review 132:Very friendly and helpful staff; views over the vineyards; comfortablerooms; outstanding restaurant and service, the food being a gastronomicdelight; proximity to Epernay.
Review 133:Wifi did not work in the room as advertised. We asked staff for arecommendation on where to eat locally, they were indifferent and justsaid to go into town. We like a small breakfast -15Euro for coffee &a croissant is ridiculous. Power cable running across the floor in therestaurant is extremely dangerous & just looks untidy. The locationis not near anything without having to drive. It's located on a busyroundabout. We were so unimpressed we cancelled our dinner reservationwe had made some time time ago and went elsewhere. We feel you'rebetter off staying in Epernay or Reims.
Review 134:We didn't like anything.
