Reviews for Le Mas D'artigny & Spa

Review 1:The sofas needed dry cleaning. The grass was not cut. A fantastic property which was in lack of proper means to maintain it all. No body lotion in the bathroom. No bathrobes or slippers in a 4 star hotel

Review 2:A beautiful property we visited about 10 years ago. very nice pool and helpful staff. Fantastic view. Spacious rooms

Review 3:The hotel is quite tired and dated and in need of refurbishment. The taps were rusty, toilet leaking, peeling enamel on the bath and a constant bad odour in the corridors. The wifi was poor and we often couldn't get any connection.

Review 4:The area where the hotel is situated is away from the 'hustle and bustle' with some lovely views. The food was lovely, although breakfast was slightly overpriced. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 5:Our first room was small, rather shabby and smelled a little damp, but we upgraded to a beautiful, huge room with a balcony which we loved. The hotel is a little frayed around the edges, and could do with a little loving care, but that didn't spoil our stay. We loved it there. We wish the menu at lunchtime was a little less haute cuisine. There were no simple meals, sandwiches or lunchtime snacks available to eat poolside.

Review 6:Loved the location and the views, which are incredible. The staff were always so helpful

Review 7:Pool closed two days, old funiture, now hot water in the sink and shower for at least 24 hours.

Review 8:The view, surroundings, room size, parking, tenniscourt, the people in the reception

Review 9:Breakfast was only buffet and too expensive for our taste. We only wanted cappuccino and a croissant, but that was not available. Even a small lunch or snacks were not available. The hotel needs major renovation and it would be nice if the keep it up since it is a great place!

Review 10:The view is spectacular and given the deal we got on booking.com our stay was certainly worth every penny! The reastaurant was great and the price was comparable to a 4 star restaurant. Staff are welcoming.

Review 11:We checked in to le Mas D'artigny tired from a long drive through France. We were greeted by friendly staff, who surprised us with the most incredible upgrade due to it being our honeymoon. We were beyond thrilled with the pool suite - I mean who wouldn't be!! Then the restaurant gave us a lovely bottle of wine and generally spoiled us rotten. Very unexpected but so wonderful. Highly recommend it for a good quality option close to the town of St. Paul de Vence which is stunningly situated. Great hotel facilities and spa is excellent. Comfy bed and super clean.

Review 12:The menu was rather haute cuisine for our taste. And we would have preferred to have much more simple lunch options, with more snacks, sandwiches, salads etc, ie food to eat at our sun loungers, rather than the more formal dining on offer.

Review 13:The views were gorgeous, the pool fantastic and the staff lovely. Our room, with balcony, was huge and extremely comfortable.

Review 14:Very basic room. Long walk to get there. Breakfast simple but expensive (€19). Not a cosy hotel, more a group-type accommodation.

Review 15:The view from the hotel is nice. Large swimmingpool.

Review 16:Nothing bad - except the weather and that is not the hotel's fault !

Review 17:The staff was very friendly and helpful, we even got an upgrade to rooms with a view. Dinner was excellent and the view over the bay superb. Short drive to Saint-Paul, Vence, a bit longer to Nice at rush-hour !

Review 18:Water came out of the wall. Obviously not the first time, since tiles were stained. Desk chair was not usable. Dangerously broken. Desk chair not replaced. Furniture heavily used and chipped . The rug was soiled by stains. Employees in reception had to use seats , which were torn. At 10:00pm it was impossible to get a wine, since the receptionist didn't have a key for the bar. This hotel isn't a four star hotel. It should be majorily renovated or downgraded.

Review 19:bed not too comfortable. Pillows too thin. hot breakfast not available at 7am. outdoor seating but rather cool.

Review 20:lovely grounds. beautiful views. excellent bathroom.

Review 21:What a pity. Staffed by a surprising number interns, room cleaning and breakfast service are two areas where we were let down. We had a trail of ants permanently shacked up with us for 2 days of the trip, while dirty plates and glasses were not removed from the room. Otherwise the hotel really shouldn't claim to have a gym which in fact is a tiny room with two half working bicycles and a eliptical machine. Finally my feedback which was requested by the manager after our departure was gracefully ignored.

Review 22:The property's location hidden away in Les Hauts Des Saint Paul with incredible views promises so much. Yet it seems like the hotel doesn't really want to be a hotel.

Review 40:the view!

Review 41:Cost of breakfast - dirty moquette - rooms with old style forniture

Review 42:Position

Review 43:Gyn needs re equipping

Review 44:The wifi is only located in the lobby, which, for most rooms is a 5 minute or more walk away. The actual suite facilities were horrible with both the shower and bath broken and the room coming apart. I had to try and have a shower in the bath tub. The overall place is nice but don't take comfort in the room you will receive.

Review 45:It had a nice pool and relaxing atmosphere.

Review 46:This hotel uses its 4 star rating to over charge for not so great facilities. I will take the problems in turn: - It was raining a lot when we arrived, so rather than go into the nearby Saint Paul de Vence, we decided to check out the Spa at the hotel. We had to book ahead even just to use to basic facilities, and we couldn't book a massage. The spa facilities consist of a swimming pool which is heated so it feels like a bath (in fairness, quite nice), a tea 'room' which is essentially a cupboard in the corner of the swimming pool room with tea in thermos flasks, and a 'relaxation room' which consists of lounge chairs that look at a stone wall. Normally there is also a sauna, but it wasn't working when we were there. They knocked 5 euros off the price for this (so it was 20 instead of 25) but we still paid 20 per person euros for what was basically a warm pool. Given that the spa is a big part of what they advertise at the hotel, we were very much disappointed. - The room was fairly basic and the decor tired. What most bothered us was the fact that there was no bracket the hang the shower head on, which made having a half decent shower and washing hair pretty difficult. - The restaurant was over priced and mediocre. As a vegetarian the options were extremely limited. The maître d suggested I ask for the salad without the tuna, but it still came with anchovies. My husband ordered a glass of red wine with dinner, and it was only just drinkable. I really don't see how this hotel deserved the 4 star rating. My advice: do not stay here.

Review 47:The staff were nice and helpful, even driving the car around to our villa for us. Unfortunately, that is where the positive feedback ends.

Review 48:The very expensive, though not very rich breakfast (for that price).

Review 49:Oh! The great place for a weekend retreat! Incredibly nice! Also very close to St. Paul de Vince again an excellent destination.

Review 50:Rather dated décor . Breakfast good but split location inconvenient

Review 51:Stunning position, nice grounds excellent restaurant, friendly front desk pleasant staff. A good place to stay

Review 52:nothing to complain at all.

Review 53:the hotel is awesome. quiet place, pretty close to cities by car, staff is very helpful, breakfast is delicious! we were in our honeymoon and we got an upgrade!

Review 54:Swimming pool and shower in Sauna area were not in use because of technical problems... that was a BIG disappointment! Charge of the breakfast is too high comparing with other breakfast buffets in Nice- or Cannes Cities.

Review 55:Hotel is locating near beautiful St. Paul de Vence! Landscape and views in this area are wonderful! Hotel room was large, nice and peaceful with beautiful view.

Review 56:The pool was under construction and so was not available for use. The use of the spa is at an additional charge. Breakfast was at an additional charge. Our room although large, was very dated.

Review 57:The setting is beautiful. The art in the hotel grounds is magnificent. The staff were very helpful and arranged dinner reservations for us at a restaurant in the local town. The pool and facilities were under construction and so were not available for use but they did turn on the sauna for us.

Review 58:The Staff were absolutely delightful, we couldnt have asked for anything more, so friendly and helpful. The location was perfict and we enjoyed our stay alot. The rooms were big and spacious and had a nice bathroom. We found nothing wrong with this hotel at all.

Review 59:20 years ago a fantastic place to stay. Now totally run down. Rooms are outdated. Junior suites are ok, but also in need of serious refurbishment. The place needs total make-over. Even the breakfast buffet is simple and not of these days. quality of restaurant is mediocre.

Review 60:Perfect location with superb view over the hills and the sea. Gardens and pool area are perfect for private relaxation.

Review 61:Location a bit out of way from center. Breakfast too expensive.

Review 62:Nice pleasant environment. Spacious room and comfortable bathroom.

Review 63:Restaurant very expensive and the food was not worth it.

Review 64:Beautiful place, very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 65:decoration is uncomfortable , some facilities are broken

Review 66:mountain view and surroundings

Review 67:Room equipement dates back from the sixties Swimming pool broken for months

Review 68:A good hotel, we will return. Lovely spacious room, lovely terrace for dining, bar etc. Large swimming pool, very pleasant.
