Reviews for Hotel Bernat de So
Review 1:Llivia is a fantastic spot with lots of hiking, an intriguing old town and unique location completely surrounded by France. The breakfast at the hotel is fantastic for 12 Euros.
Review 2:That staff allowed a group of noisy unsupervised kids to overtake the pool and grass area. They destroyed the peacefulness of this otherwise wonderful hotel.
Review 3:Very comfy beds. Nice pool. English speaking staff. Great view from balcony.
Review 4:We spoke no Spanish or Catalan but it was not a problem. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean. The bed was the most comfortable we have experienced in Spain. The breakfast was excellent - the best potato pie and croissants we have had anywhere. One of the reviews complained about the stairway lighting - the light switch is to the right of the stairs- you just have to press the switch and the stairway is well lit.
Review 5:Not very sound proof rooms, we could hear other guests in their rooms.
Review 6:The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Flexibility with breakfast times and very willing to please. Breakfast was great with fresh local products. Nice and cosy hotel within walking distance of all the lovely restaurants.
Review 7:Nothing! It was all wonderful.
Review 8:Location is excellent, in a small and charming town. Hotel staff were very helpful, and even made restaurant reservations for us when we emailed to make sure that restaurants would be open during our stay. They also provided a very helpful hiking map, which led us to some wonderful hikes in the pyrenees. Hotel itself was extremely comfortable, beautiful, clean, and quiet.
Review 9:Do you really expect this to be an extensive list, given my earlier remarks? Maybe one or two stains and spots in the room, but our stay was end of season (or at least, the first of them), so I think that you accept that with good grace, given all the positives.
Review 10:We booked a 2-night stay (Tues/Weds 30.9/1.10), as part of an extended touring holiday throughout France and Spain. Initially intrigued by the hotel's location in a Spanish enclave in France, as much as its positive reviews, we were subsequently wowed by the quality of the room (201, which included a free upgrade, given the relatively low occupancy level, although the temperate climate, jaw-dropping views, and proximity of ski resorts, mean that there's never really a closed season in this establishment). There are "boutique hotel" touches all over the place: in the rooms, the toiletries and bath robes/towels, and rather eclectic fixtures and fittings; and the art and jewellery either on display or sale from relatively local artists. The double bed was super-comfy, by common consent! The food is locally sourced, and the accent is very much on theecological/organic. Evening meal main options (at very reasonable tariffs) included succulent free range chicken, ribs with a honey and mustard sauce, and a beef and caramelised onion concoction that was particularly comforting. The eggs and tomatoes at breakfast were so vibrantly coloured that, if you hadn't seen them for real, you could be forgiven that they'd been Photoshopped. The hotel itself dates from only 2003, but has been sympathetically blended with a semi-restored 15th century storage area, around which are dotted some rather ancient, and interesting, farming implements. The staff are friendly, multi-lingual, and efficient. And here's a touch that I particularly liked: when were you last asked whether you'd like you breakfast coffee as soon as possible after you'd sat down, or a little later, lest it grow cold?
Review 11:absolutely nothing
Review 12:Lovely setting, friendly chatty staff/owner, gorgeous room and bathroom. Swimming pool and surrounding area relaxing. We are sad that we were only staying for one night
Review 13:Breakfast was so-so
Review 14:The swimming pool alone made our stay--it was pristine (clean, cool, with gorgeous setting), comfortable bed, airconditioning, balcony, renovated farmhouse, perfect location in town, hike up to the old castle
Review 15:Nothing.

Review 21:A high quality hotel with friendly and helpful staff.
Review 22:Room was comfortable and warm, bathroom had plenty of complementary nick-nacks. Staff were friendly and extremely helpful.
Review 23:they don't serve natural orange juice
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:The proximity of stunning walks within 25mins by car to the Bouillousses car park. Away from the busy town of Font Romeu in Mid July. Starting the day with a very generous breakfast, coming back to a very comfortable hotel after a day trekking, sitting down to a lovely evening meal served by the very friendly, and accommodating personnel.
Review 26:We loved the Bernat de So's quiet, countryside setting, its incredibly beautiful view of snow-capped mountains all around Llivia's lovely valley setting, the hotel's elegant decor and earthy materials, the wonderful advice and service the owner, Nuria, gave us... In short, we loved everything about the Bernat de So! It's a delightful place, which we highly recommend!
