Reviews for Hôtel du Parc

Review 1:The bar lady needs to address her front of house attitude. Although the bedrooms are lovely the hotel areas are a bit run down.

Review 2:Lovely clean modern big bedroom with view of the park. Comfy bed. Breakfast was good value too. The hotel reception staff were very welcoming, smiling and helpful.

Review 3:It is a bit tired and in need of a refurb but still clean and tidy. It did not have a fridge in the room.

Review 4:The location and view. It is a beautiful building

Review 5:The wifi connection was slow and intermittent

Review 6:Even though the hotel is a casino, the rooms were quiet and clean. The restaurant and bar are open at times when almost all other ones are not. The terrace looking out over the park is very pleasant.

Review 7:Spacious, well furnished and comfortable bedroom. Historic building (the old casino) which has been well modernised. Had a very enjoyable meal in the restaurant.

Review 8:breakfast and restaurant room size et design confort of the bed bathroom facilities car park room service historical building very well renovated except false balconies on the inside patio

Review 9:The hotel matched all of the reviews we read before making our choice. We were glad to find such pleasant accommodations at an affordable price for the middle of the summer. The room was comfortable and clean, private and quiet, and it was a wonderful stay for our 30th wedding anniversary. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Review 10:On this occasion our wifi didn't work, which was odd as it had on our previous stay. No resolution unfortunately. Perhaps tea/coffee making facilities would be a benefit

Review 11:Staff excellent, welcoming, and rooms are always immaculate. The position of this hotel is excellent for walking to town, and although the car park is across the road, it didn't cause a problem.

Review 12:Staff were mostly indifferent

Review 13:Very friendly staff Delicious dinner in the restaurant

Review 14:Overall not very clean or well maintained. Dirty, smelly carpets in the common areas. Everything needs a good going over!

Review 15:The casino, but I don't like to gamble.

Review 16:Location and view from the room. Also very spacious rooms.

Review 17:Beds

Review 18:Nothing

Review 19:Everything, cannot criticise a thing. The staff could not do enough for us, they even wanted us to park our motorcycle in the ballroom out of the rain - fantastic. Superb food and a wonderful hotel.

Review 20:1) Although beautiful restaurant and great staff food was poor. Many of the resaurants were closed in the town but one, which was all I needed as the food was fabulous and looked forward to seeing them each day. It was called La Tannerie and about a 2 min walk from the spa.

Review 21:1)Welcoming, lovely, helpful staff 2)Comfortable beds with beautiful balcony 3)Georgous historical building 4)Spa was a 5 minute walk away.

Review 22:There was clearly some trouble of finding the reservation. Staff was OK but the systems failed.

Review 23:We could not eat at the hotel but that was a blessing because we found a nice little restaurant not far from the hotel with young and enthusiastic staff.

Review 24:The breakfast was a standard, serve-yourself affair; but with a bit of imagination it could have been transformed into a good experience. Sad to have all those little pots and tiny servings.

Review 25:The room. It was huge, clean with a wonderful big bathroom, a super-comfortable bed and a big flat screen television Would want to stay in Room 118 again if I go another time.

Review 26:Room and bathroom (shower only) a little bit small and WiFi connection very slow

Review 27:Great location, friendly staff. Lovely terrace where we ate a good breakfast; Incredible glass roof and wood panelling on balconies surrounding each floor

Review 28:We booked a suite for 4 people and found a great king sized bed plus a small double sofa bed, which was cramped for our 2 teenagers. However we folded out a second sofa bed and they had one each. Breakfast was very basic with fruit selction of only apples and oranges in the south of France in August!

Review 29:Large room with double aspect, complimentary champagne. loads of space, very near the town centre. Quiet.

Review 30:In March, Salies de Bearns was just about dead; the only entertainmentwould be to go to the classic saltwater spa or gamble on the fruitmachines - but neither interest us.

Review 31:The atmosphere - eclectic doesn't begin to explain it. The hotel isa museum piece, full of character but very well converted to provide allmod cons. Food was reasonable, location was good and parking easy.

Review 32:We were disappointed with the car parking as we assumed it would beattached to the hotel and as a result felt we had or bring all our bagsfrom our soft top convertible which unfortunately resulted in the lossof a handbag.

Review 33:It's location was very good the room and the decor was excellentspacious light and airy. The receptionist Donna very welcoming andexceptionally helpful as she spoke very good English which helped tomake our stay extremely.easant.

Review 34:The hotel was decorated from top to bottom in cobwebs, spiders and halloween things! Vast central bar, reception area with views of the ceilings at the top of the building. A very unusual hotel - relieved to find the rooms were so nice. Absolutely nowhere to eat in the town - even on a Saturday night - dead! Restaurants open in the afternoon were closed.

Review 35:the room was large, modern and newly refurbished in red and cream. Two large French windows with a balcony overlooking the park and the village. Very comfortable and luxurious. Ate in the restaurant - good meal - nice surroundings.

Review 36:We had some issues with both the bill from the restaurant and from the hotel, but they were solved without any struggling.

Review 37:Extremely good value for money! Very charming village and a very different hotel with the casino inside of a remarkable old building. Also a good restaurant with once again "extremely good value for money" dinner. The room is very modern and spacious. Also like free wifi in the hotel. We will return!

Review 38:The breakfast at 10 euros was very poorly organised with only one youngwaitress having to attend to some 30 diners. The room originally setaside was much too small for the number of guests and the large diningroom was not laid for breakfast so everything had to be asked forindividually. Surely the management should be able to estimate thenumber of guests requiring breakfast and plan accordingly.

Review 39:The standard of the interior decor let down this lovely building. Italso houses a casino next to reception that includes gaming machinesthat emit a constant loud boom that was clearly putting hotel guests offthe entire bar and restaurant area on the ground floor, also creating anextremely unwelcoming atmosphere on arrival. When I pointed this out toa manager I was told that ah but you can't hear it in the rooms....Which was true but beside the point. The junior reception staff playedloud pop music which masked this booming but made the overall noiselevel worse. Another problem was the lack of screening for the windows -there were heavy curtains which were effectively lightproof but nothinner curtain underneath them so there was no privacy from the road.

Review 40:As the photo shows, it is a beautiful period building, extremely well-located for the thermal spa and only five minutes from the centre ofSalies, and next to the connecting bus stop for the railway stations.

Review 41:the entrance hall/casino doesnt look inviting, yet the surprise when you see the fantastic room is even bigger!

Review 42:What a deal! We got a great rate and it was so worth it. The room and bathroom are spacious, good comfort and clean. Free outside parking and wifi. I can really recommend it.

Review 43:We appreciated very much the special promotional price. We would havestayed a second night and gladly paid the full price for it but thebooking system did not seem to allow this - it wanted full price forboth nights - so we stayed the second night at another hotel. Does thisneed to be looked at?

Review 44:Very helpful desk staff Canal + showing sport in lobby We wouldcertainly think about coming again to this hotel in this charming andlively town.

Review 45:Hotel du Parc was situated in a lovely spa town amongst Victorianbuildings including the spa. We had a lovely spacious room with viewsover the park. It was a real experience to be in such a lovely oldbuillding even though they had a casino.

Review 46:Well, though understood why, but was still a bit disappointed that we cannot walk along the interior balcony. They are very protective of their casino..

Review 47:Its a beautiful Hotel, with a very friendly personal. I arrived late Sunday night, nevertheless, restaurant was open and I was served a delicious dinner. Room was surprisingly big, huge door-windows leading to the balcony facing the Thermal Cure building. AC and Heater worked just fine, and i even had an extra portable heater in the bathroom. Clean, convenient.

Review 48:They need to remove seedy slot machines from Foyer or what would be beautiful space

Review 49:The building was amazing. Worth staying there just to see the casino hall.

Review 50:Historic ambiance but with modern rooms.

Review 51:Basic, but good value.
