Reviews for Hostellerie De La Source

Review 1:Noisy as by very busy road. Bit of a walk to town, food over priced and nothing much else around. Didn't much like the village or immediate surrounding area

Review 2:Room was nice size and staff pleasant

Review 3:No air conditioning... just under an hour's walk into the center of town or a taxi ride.

Review 4:Hotel staff were very pleasant and accomodating. The room was simple but had a lovely charming view out the window. The room was quiet and bathroom modern.

Review 5:No air con. Hard to sleep at night when is hot. The offer at breakfast was poor with some products already expired.

Review 6:Tge staff was friendly. Lovely little hotel with nice pool. Nice food in the restaurant.

Review 7:Realt Friendly staff , we felt really taken care of. Surprised to find A restaurant in the facilities that served us A wonderful dinner .We would Stay there again if we come around. There is also A well maintained pool

Review 8:COLD SHOWER this day and age is not good at a Hotel. We booked for two nights but only stayed for one which really says it all.

Review 9:Restaurant staff good food average

Review 10:No tea or coffee making facilities in room and the decor was dated.

Review 11:Good location for Arles center. Within walking distance.Nice outdoor pool. Room had a bath A+++++.

Review 12:The bungalows are for backpackers or kids,we upgraded to the hotel proper.

Review 13:Close to Arles, and within walking distance. Menu limited, but good, wines quite good too! The sauce with the mingnon de porc very good, even excellent.

Review 14:The bathroom was too small, the shower only worked if you got the hose at the right angle. Fixtures were falling off the wall. My husband hit his head on a low ceiling causing quite a bit of pain - the owner saw this and said and did nothing.

Review 15:Nothing in particular

Review 16:nothing at the price.

Review 17:Lovely staff, great pool, with room to relax. Food excellent, we ate under the willows by the pool. Room was basic but comfortable. Parking. Town walkable, nearby bus stop. Great value.

Review 18:We were on bicycles, it was easy to find on our route around Provance. We loved the mosquito screen and shutters on the window also the fantastic pool and quiet location.

Review 19:The bed is too soft to sleep....the breakfast is very limited consider the price (you can get better food if go any cafe bar), maybe because we got-up was a bit late...

Review 20:Near with Highway and easy to find out

Review 21:Old disgusting interior, equipment and exterier, the owners dont speak any languages and they dont help you with anything. To greet even in french,it is a problem for them.We had a deal to pay for hotel at six o'clock in the morning,we hurried. We waited longer than half an hour and nobody came.

Review 22:Nothing, an old hotel which is nice in the photos only.it is a scam!

Review 23:South of France is hot and if the heat bothers you, choose an air-conditioned hotel. Also, hotel was not close to the interesting areas of Arles, so be prepared to drive a bit.

Review 24:Hotel was clean, staff were friendly, dinner by the pool was very nice. Fan in the room to help with the heat. Breakfast was substantial.

Review 25:The staff failed to provide us with the twin room we requested. They promised to solve the situation but we never saw them again in the four days we were there.

Review 26:The room was big, the bed was comfortable and the facilites were properly cleaned.

Review 27:Calling this a bungalow is pushing it.Its a very basic chalet.Bedroom with small adjacent small shower (no door just a curtain). If you're looking for luxury, this isn't the place.

Review 28:Quiet room with air con.Parking behind main hotel.

Review 29:The bad is really bad. The location is not in center, but we know that and we had a car. So, you pay less, but you are not in downtown. It's your choice. There's nobody at the reception at night. But that's ok. The key was at the reception :)

Review 30:The recepcionist is very friendly. She doesn't speak any English, but that's ok for me. I was in France.

Review 31:The staff make you feel welcome. The room was comfortable, the bar and restaurant are relaxed, the staff easygoing and the food is great.

Review 32:the beds Sound insulation between poolside rooms

Review 33:the owner

Review 34:The staff did not speak english very good

Review 35:A great podition if you want to visit Provance.

Review 36:Staff helpful, dinner excellent

Review 37:Receptionist can't speak English.

Review 38:Good price

Review 39:No English speaking, Spanish neither... Late email relpy (they replied my email 2 days after I checked out), noisy wood floor and bed...

Review 40:all regular

Review 41:the walk to city centre

Review 42:pool

Review 43:Everything

Review 44:Nothing

Review 45:We did not expect to be in a beach cabin style room with only a curtain between the bed and bathroom.

Review 46:We loved the location, just outside Arles which we could walk to in half an hour. We also loved the pool after a long day travelling.

Review 47:Although the reception sign said they spoke English, we found the lady's grasp of English very limited. While the hotel is advertised as having a restaurant, it was closed both the night and next morning we were there, forcing us to travel into town for meals. There was no warning of this, so we discovered this when we arrived. Hotel can be difficult to find as well.

Review 48:Quaint, homely charm, a short drive to the town centre.

Review 49:the rooms were a bit tired and the bed a bit small for a comfortable night's sleep the breakfast was also a bit disappointing

Review 50:very friendly staff, an attractive hotel, a nice bar and patio area, a lovely swimming pool, and a wonderful evening meal in the restaurant

Review 51:Outside the city of Arles (better to choose it if u have a car)

Review 52:Good value for money. Good hotel for short stay. Personnel is friendly. Private parking. Bathroom is clean.

Review 53:Dark staircase and light points not clearly located

Review 54:Very helpful Staff. Ideal central location for Camargue and Alpilles. Quiet location. Grill on windows to keepout Mostiquitoes

Review 55:Not a lot, save the low unlit concrete wall at the unlit entrance to the car park which scraped my offside wing.

Review 56:We waere de"kighted by trhe warmth of welcome and the general level of helpfulness throughout our stay, paricularly when we had need to rely on them to support us when airline schedules went awry

Review 57:unsecure wifi. Carpet needs replacing. Bed head - could do some damage if not prepared. Pillows - it would seem that its just a weird french thing - not this hotels fault.

Review 58:stayed late Nov. Its out of the way - but is ok for an overnight visit to see Arles, if you have a car. If we didn't have the car we would of stayed somewhere else. Had we of known the parking provisions in Arles town were good before we went, we would of stayed closer. For 45 euro it was ok. It just needs a little renovation, but would probably cost more, so go figure..

Review 59:Very sharp point under the table where I put my laptop on. Schatched my leg in a nasty way. Passed on to the lady at the reception. They must do something about that.

Review 60:Perhaps check-in is a little bit late, but we had good luck because we were at 14.15 and we got the room almost two hours earlier.

Review 61:Beautiful bungalow with a pool, which is really useful due to hot days in summer. Nice place to explore the area of Arles, I think is totally recomendable

Review 62:We had a really poor room in the 2nd floor which is real surprise with having bathroom and room actually in one big space just divided with poor doors and some curtains. Be aware of bed frames. My wife injured herself on that iron made frames.

Review 63:This hotel has 3 positive things. First is pool which is really nice to have there to refresh after coming back from Arles or from Camargue natural park. Second thing is location of this hotel which is situated close to highway and not far from city of Arles and Camargue natural park. Third thing is restaurant which is really good. We were surprised that it is possible to eat such a good meal in such a poor environment.

Review 64:Room small and inadequate storage space. Variable water temperature in shower. No view from window.

Review 65:Friendly and welcoming staff, very nice swimming pool, clean and well cared for, nice bar and lovely restaurant. Regular bus service to centre of Arles. Can walk to centre of Arles in around 30mins. Good shops nearby - fruit, salad, bread, croissants, wine.

Review 66:is a bit far from the ville centre. We walked it once, then drove next time.

Review 67:Quaint hotel, swimming pool in back with relaxing atmosphere. Outside tables in back patio or front as well as indoor dining room. Good value in the menu for dinner & drinks.free parking too

Review 68:Location. A bit far to yomp in and out of town forthe evening.

Review 69:Freindly staff. Decent busy restraunt. Cheap largely because its a couple of K out of town.

Review 70:Noise from other rooms carried noticeably.

Review 71:Friendly staff (no English, but we got by) and a pleasant location. Comfortable, if a bit dated, but it is an old building. Great patisserie round the corner which was handy, because we would have liked to have a meal at the hotel restaurant, but it was closed. However it was a Sunday evening.

Review 72:Bungalow rooms have thin walls so it is possible to hear a lot of noiseslike car and room doors closing.

Review 73:Within 15 mins walking distance to the city center, parking on site, clean room, lovely clean little pool.

Review 74:Lack of organization and care for the client. First of all I booked thisplace trough Booking and I advised I was going to arrive around 21h,however for certain reasons we got late and once we arrived thereception was closed, so we contacted by phone and it was gaven us acode to open the door. The point is..if they knew we were going toarrive after the reception closed why they have not sent us the code inadvance by mail!?(image we would not have money in the phone!)Second.Once we entered in the room we noticed the floor of carpet wasreally wet and we realized the heater was broken and drops were fallingdown constantly, but since there was nobody with whom to reclaim westaid even though (when we woke up the trash we put underneath wasfull). The point is: even if nobody realized (wish is not true becauseit was clear that they tried to repaired it already and there was as analternative heater in a corner of the room), once we advised thereceptionist at least the attitude should be other and not: " Jevous remercie pour votre attention et pour votre signalement, si nonnous pouvons ne pas remarquer" ( we thank you a lot for your care,so we don't risk not to notice it!!)This is an unacceptable answerno matter the price we pay. How could the cleaning lady or theresponsible for the Rooms don't realize there is a carpet with adarker color or wet?!And ok..accepting that nobody noticed at least goto check the room when you are advised and do something to apologize theclient and avoid to lose it! Last but not least, the access cover to thesewers was laying on the floor and was falling every time we opened thedoor to the bathroom!! The essential comfort and cleaning is a word thatmust be associated to everyplace with more than zero stars and surelythis is a place that must admit that is time to close and start somerebuilding in order to keep it opened

Review 75:No negatives....maybe no elevator as it was an antique building

Review 76:Staff was wonderful....Clean rooms in an antique building. Quaint surroundings. A wonderful pastierie accross the street. Easy to locate. Central to old Arles

Review 77:A little difficult to find and unless one had a car an impractical distance from the city. We found later there is liberal free parking within an easy walk of more central hotels

Review 78:The room was generally comfortable and clean with reliable hot ater and a reasonable bed. it was in a quiet location and had free parking at the rear

Review 79:No check in after 8 pm. The hotel is far from the city center of Arles, and we had to take a bus to get there every day. The shower head in our room was broken and wouldn't stay up.

Review 80:The room was comfortable, clean and spacious, very good for the price.

Review 81:Bungalows would be great for summer, but may be a bit cold and the smaller ones may be a bit claustrophobic out of season.

Review 82:French culture, relaxed french atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff who encourage us to use the French language but can speak English if required. The food was fine and enjoyable, although I would not describe it as gourmet.

Review 83:The car park is small and we were lucky to get a place. There was a sign to further parking but the lane was so narrow that I did not like to risk it. They had the wrong restaurant prices in the room so we got a bit of a shock when we sat down in the restaurant to find the prices had doubled! By that time it was late and we were committed. They apologised that it was an old menu in the room but how old could it be if the prices had doubled??

Review 84:The hotel was easy to get to on the outskirts of town. The staff were friendly and the bed comfortable. The restaurant was good if a little expensive.

Review 85:The room was small and the bed not the most comfortable we have slept in.

Review 86:It was relaxing and quiet, away from city bussle but within a short bus ride or walking distance for us.The facilities were basic, but clean and the staff obliging. They had no argument with filling our thermos each morning so we were able to enjoy our own breakfast at a table beside the swimming pool. There is a lovely swimming pool but unfortunately the weather was too cold and we had limited time to enjoy such facilities. The hotel has secure parking facilities which was important to us. We didn't participate in the breakfast so can't comment on that.

Review 87:Carpet was stained. Style should be updated a bit. They only had onewaiter for a vey busy restaurant.

Review 88:Staff was friendly, breakfast was pretty decent. There were 3 of us andthe room and bathroom were very large. Quiet area. A short 25 minutewalk into town. Relatively inexpensive stay. Plenty of parking.

Review 89:We had a perfect stay at the hotel, everything was great. Beautiful room. To mention specially the garden with swimming pool for the hot days and the kind staff.

Review 90:Very basic breakfast. Since it's South of France I expected more fruitsand other fresh produce. Mosquitoes at night.

Review 91:Ideal for family vacations. They have a swimming pool on site and ithelps so much during extremly hot days when even driving in airconditioned car is like a torture.

Review 92:Very nice little hotel with nice owners. You have a restaurant were you can eat inside and outside on the pool, very nice food. You can sleep in the main hotel, in the building, or have the little cabins on the pool that I liked very much.

Review 93:The staff was friendly, they had an excellent buffet continental breakfast, a full service restaurant was available, and the location was ideal for visiting Arles, the Camargue marshes, Avignon, Orange, Nimes, etc. We were very pleased to stay here!

Review 94:The rooms were clean and smelled nice, but the lobby and hallwayssmelled of cigarette smoke. Didn't disturb my sleep/stay in the room, but not too pleasant to come in.The breakfast is also not very exciting - there are two bakeries within 100m, but the bread was factory style (no fresh baguettes or pastries).

Review 95:The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean - each oneis a little different, so if you want something specific (courtyardside, two beds together, shower instead of bath), do ask.

Review 96:No door to the bathroom area.

Review 97:Swimming pool area, though we didn't swim - pleasant and cool.

Review 98:staff unfriendly, uninterested in guests, nobody speaks english, far from the city center

Review 99:parking space, spacious rooms

Review 100:Gastronomique menu

Review 101:Walk up, no elevator.

Review 102:A real traditional Hostellerie in Arles. Convenient to Arles without being in the high traffic area. Good parking available

Review 103:small room

Review 104:Arles is a beautiful city.hotel is outside Arles but only 5 minutes away

Review 105:The young hotel receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Review 106:Simple hotel to sleep along your jorney

Review 107:Room are a bit dated

Review 108:Nice pool. Friendly staff.8 min driven from Arles.great Road around. motorbike friendly (private parking)

Review 109:I liked clean and confort and staff's kindness.Very nice a swimming-pool

Review 110:Decor dated and tired. Not sure what the male staff do!

Review 111:Pool, garden restaurant, helpful and friendly waitress and cleaning staff. Decent food.

Review 112:The bathroom was between the bedroom and the window so the room was very dark.

Review 113:Friendly staff, good meal

Review 114:The room has a strong perfume smell which we didn't quite care.

Review 115:the space is large for our Quadruple Room.

Review 116:Preu alt per un bungalow Jardi descuidat mala olor al bungalow

Review 117:Lovely old French house, very comfortable and lovely staff. Fantasticrestaurant and the best food we had in France

Review 118:The staff was great

Review 119:Falta de wifi esta un poco alejado del centro

Review 120:Economico limpio falta wifi gratis

Review 121:It was very cold at night

Review 122:Really good value for money, rooms are clean and quite comfortable
