Reviews for Hotel Le Belvedere
Review 1:Cleanliness was the weak point of this hotel I'm afraid. The shower was full of human hair (at least 6-7 strands), and the fact that shower has a curtain (instead of a cabin door) makes for a very unpleasant experience.
Review 2:Hotel is located in the city center, just a 4-5min walk from Les Arenes. Staff is friendly & helpful. Breakfast was included in the price and was pretty good.
Review 3:It could get noisy diring the full season as most rooms face the square. I think the price was a bit high for the off season stay.
Review 4:Breakfast was a nice touch and very adequate. Very close (5 min walk) to a large free parking. Small room, but comfortable.
Review 5:The view from the window was a parking area and back alley, but be honest, all I did was sleep there. The view is a non-factor.
Review 6:Every person on the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was close to anything we wanted to do.
Review 7:I really enjoyed staying at the Hotel Le Belvedere especially because they have an awesome customer service culture. They try to anticipate to their guest needs and requests. Location is perfect! Thanks to everyone for making me feel really welcomed at your hotel!!
Review 8:There were no tea/coffee making facilities - but we took a travel kettle with us! There was no public area to relax - just the reception room which was also the breakfast room.
Review 9:Lovely room with balcony. Set on a very ''French'' square! Easy to see everything on foot and not far from the station. Really friendly staff. The town of Arles is absolutely gorgeous!
Review 10:The room was very small. Not soundproof. We could hear people talking in the hall and people walking above the room.
Review 11:The location is great and easy to find. Quite surrounding. Breakfast was good. We appreciated the balcony in the room.
Review 12:There is no lift. That's drawback if you show up with heavy luggage and your room is on the top floor.
Review 13:Its all good. I stayed there twice and the staff were nice.
Review 14:Hotel Belvedere is located literally down the street from the Roman Amphitheatre, and walking distance to all the sights. There are a number of nice eateries close by (on Rue Voltaire). The staff are friendly and it was handy to have breakfast included in the hotel price.
Review 15:The staff were a little stand-offish and could have been more pleasant.
Review 16:The hotel foyer and our room was beautifully decorated with pleasant attention to detail in the fittings and facilities. The included breakfast was a bonus; with the best bread rolls we found anywhere on our trip through France (not a fan of the very hard crusty rolls at all).
Review 17:sound-proofing is very good
Review 18:newly decoration with good atmosphere, the bedroom is cozy and tidy, especially the location is perfect! A very comfortable staying experience!
Review 19:No elevator and the doors at the stair way felt too heavy when we are carrying baggages.
Review 20:Clean, quiet and cozy place. The small plaza in front of the hotel was peaceful. The breakfast included in the hotel was simple but good enough.
Review 21:Although the room was very small it suited our needs for sleeping and we loved the little balcony overlooking a treed square with cafe below. The location is very good for sightseeing and proximity to the train station.
Review 22:Lack of space. A huge bed with hardly any space around it.access around bathroom facilities very tight. In the breakfast too many tables in a small area.it would be difficult for larger people
Review 23:It was close to historic monuments
Review 24:The staff was excellent and the room was clean and comfortable. Free breakfast really good. I loved being in Place Voltaire and near the Arena and rail Station. Good area for restaurants. Only down side was the premium room was 3 stories up (60 steep steps) with no elevator.
Review 25:There is no elevator and the staircase is very narrow.
Review 26:The location is great, all tourist attractions are within walking distance. Staff is really friendly and the breakfast is OK for France.
Review 27:The nearby parking was good but limited places. We waited a while on the sunday (free parking) for a space but easier on the monday.
Review 28:Good welcome from staff, great breakfast and if you can sit in the square to eat it so much the better
Review 29:Area seemed a bit run down, although the hotel was nice & trendy inside. Wifi was awful, constantly had to re sign in & it was slow, no tea or coffee in room
Review 30:Good location for viewing the sights in & around the old city
Review 31:no lift
Review 32:A welcome surprise in Arles, I unfortunately only found this hotel on my last of three nights! Small hotel with welcoming staff, well proportioned air conditioned room with private balcony and modern shower room. Buffet breakfast was great and could be enjoyed out in the square. Very close to all tourist attractions, would love to go back.
Review 33:The hotel does not have an elevator which did cause some effort to get our baggage to the room.
Review 34:The hotel's location within the ancient towns historic centre was very handy. All the Roman remains and medieval sites were in easy walking distance
Review 35:Location is excellent to access a very beautiful town. Excellent value for money. Staff exceedingly helpful in sending on my spectacles left by me in the room.
Review 36:A bigger bar of soap and another small bottle of shower gel would have been nice, but then I'm sure if I asked for it I would have got it. The stairs up (no lift) would be a put-down for older people and people with young kids or mobility problems, but that's what the building is like, so nothing to be done about it.
Review 37:The hotel is conveniently located just 7 minutes walk from the railway and bus stations, and within a short walk from all the main attractions and all the photography exhibitions (I came for Les Rencontres d'Arles festival). My room was simple but clean, with a good shower, when I arrived a complimentary bottle of water was waiting for me, which was really appreciated. The stuff was helpful and know English, so all my queries were answered as an when they arose. The breakfast was very good, and at 7 Euro a great value for money (yoghurts, granola or cornflakes, a roll, a croissant, ham and cheese, jams/honey, and even rhubarb cake! Plus tea, coffee or hot chocolate, of course). Overall, very pleased with my stay.
Review 38:The hotel is located in a square with several bars and restaurant. Could be very noise during the night. No events were held during our stay. Small room.
Review 39:In the city center. Free parking at 200 meters.
Review 40:There is no elevator in the hotel. We got a room just behind the stairs, during the night, we weak up often because people pass by with language. The staff is on the phone when we arrive, he continue his phone and let us wait in front of him for more than 5 minutes.
Review 41:Very close to downtown.
Review 42:The shower head was trickier than I would like. It was tough to regulate water temperature. Have trouble with TV but staff fixed it the next day
Review 43:Location was excellent. We loved balcony and it was a nice room.
Review 44:Location, balcony over square. Comfortable , clean room. Room was on second floor but we were fine with that. Better view. Staff help with bags if needed. Very helpful reception.
Review 45:Can't complain. It was overall a good experience.
Review 46:Location. It's all about location! The male receptionists were great, gave great tips for future destinations (beaches in Nice).
Review 47:location would have been "excellent" due to proximity of wonderful sites by foot, but forewarning that one can't drive to hotel to unload luggage would have been helpful, or the address to which one can drive close to the hotel to unload.
Review 48:Wi-Fi connection
Review 49:The hotel is face to the tiny square garden so you can enjoy cheerful atomosphere, like people having un cafe at cafeterrace. It located in the centre and close to everything(Well, Arles itself is small though). Personally, I had in trouble myself when I arrived at the hotel but two men at the reception helped me out a lot. I really want to thank them.
Review 50:non
Review 51:location, clean, everything is perfect. I book single room, they give me a double room with air-condition. very comfortable. I want to give a 10 marks.
Review 52:was given wifi passwords which worked well but lost my connection after I went out that evening. Did not ask about it but I am sure they would have reconnected me.
Review 53:We had a room with a balcony over the square, as pictured, and big enough to sit with a table. I enjoyed the activity below. We found street parking but the location is very close to parking outside the wall. We were made aware that before the market days we could not park out there. Short walk to arena. We did not have breakfast but should have.
Review 54:Very central and in a lovely square. All the staff were very helpful and informative as to good places to visit. Room was clean, spacious and we had a balcony overlooking the square.
Review 55:We made the mistake of taking room 34 on the 3rd floor rather than a room on the 2nd floor. The stairs up to the room were long and narrow. It was a struggle up the stairs with our luggage, and felt like a long climb after a day’s exploring. The bed was large and comfortable but too big for the room. There was not really enough room to store our 2 suitcases or walk easily around the room. The bathroom was okay with a good shower, but there was an unpleasant smell coming from the sink drain during our stay. Also only a limited amount of toilet paper was provided in the room. Normally there is at least 1 spare roll in a hotel bathroom. After reading poor reviews of the breakfast we did not have breakfast in the hotel. There are cafes nearby, or you can make up your own from the Monoprix supermarket round the corner. If you want to do this you’ll need to bring your own kettle as one is not provided in the room.
Review 56:The hotel is in a good location. It is about a 10 minute walk to the train station, and about 5 minutes from free parking just outside the old city walls. It is about a 5 minute walk from the Roman Arena and there is a good choice of restaurants nearby. There was a good view of the square from our balcony. The Wi-Fi and air conditioning in the room worked well. The staff were pleasant and friendly.
Review 57:Only downside was cigarette smoke coming into our room from the room opposite - there were no-smoking signs.
Review 58:Comfortable room overlooking square, an easy walk to station one way and the amphitheatre the other way. Staff were great, responded straight away to an email enquiry before we arrived, held luggage during the day for us, always smiled when we went in or out.
Review 59:No lift! No toiletries, a little tiny bar of soap -- c'est tout!
Review 60:Close to train station, our balcony overlooked Squaew Volitaire where there was a lot going on for people watching. Many restaurants nearby, we could walk everywhere.
Review 61:Could not connect to wifi networks available at hotel. Only had this problem at one other hotel in France, so maybe my computer...maybe not.
Review 62:Loved the balcony over the square. Great location, short walk to most historic sites. Staff was very helpful and friendly.
Review 63:Nothing
Review 64:Approx 10 minute walk from train station and easy walk to ampitheatre and other sites of interest. Modern bedroom was perfectly adequate with a safe, very good quiet aircon. Breakfast was perfectly adequate and internet connection worked well. Staff very polite.
Review 65:The bed was enormous which was great but meant there was hardly any room to move or put suitcases which was a little difficult. Only thing I can fault though - it was otherwise one of our favourite stays during our 6 weeks away.
Review 66:Loved sitting on our balcony overlooking the square with our coffee and croissant in the mornings, watching the goings on below. Loved being away from more touristy area but only stone's throw away. Found parking next to hotel for a small fee.
Review 67:Breakfast was overpriced for the quantity/quality.
Review 68:Location - easy walk to train station, sights, and restaurants. Lots of options nearby. The Saturday market was awesome (recommended by desk staff).
Review 69:I didn't realise Arles was an old abandoned-looking town. The town was disappointing not the hotel. The hotels don't compare with the brand names U get in cities. This hotel for example had no kettle or fridge in the room. The pictures online look way better than reality. Breakfast was baguettes ham and cheese, nothing warm except the coffee. Floor needed mopping. Hot water was not 24 hours. I had to have a cold shower one day around 1pm!!
Review 70:The staff especially Frederick were very friendly and helpful. Showing us best places to eat , tour etc. The air conditioning was great. Worked perfectly well. Good night sleep. Quiet and peaceful. Had a second floor room.
Review 71:Unusual shower controls, small shower stall, needed to ask for room supplies (soap, tissues, toilet paper). Also the Place Voltaire below was occasionally noisy in the early evenings.
Review 72:Bed was comfortable, had long table that straddled the bed; also liked the balcony, table and chairs.
Review 73:The stairs could be a challenge but we were advised ahead of time, so it was not a problem for us.
Review 74:Good hotel in a charming part of the city. Definitely go to a small bakery across from it. They have THE BEST croissants!!!
Review 75:nothing
Review 76:excellent location in Arles, just in the centre, easy for restaurant and visiting the city; very friendly reception, he helped to place my bike in the underground storeroom; good internet connection; quiet room
Review 77:The staff was outstanding and went beyond what I would expect when I had needed some extra help. This is my second visit there. I would definitely stay again. Location, price, clean, good wifi...
Review 78:No service informed hotel by email I would be arriving at 10 they said reception would be open when I phoned from Marseille airport just given a code to get in, no service at all. Breakfast very basic Shower hand held as supporting part broken Pillows soft impossible to get support for head Hotel next door same star rating 70 euro cheaper and breakfast cheaper
Review 79:Location Internet Bed Clean
Review 80:Very comfortable spacious room. Loved the room's balcony over the quaint square where you can watch the world go by. Charming helpful staff and good fresh breakfast.
Review 81:-Small room -A bit expensive for the offering -Had to take the stairs to the third floor -Town was very quiet, almost ¨dead¨ at night
Review 82:-Location -Balcony -Breakfast -Bed -Staff gave us recommendations to eat and a map of the town
Review 83:There were many cockroaches in the bathroom. Every time I used the toilet, I saw them creeping around. I couldn't sleep well because I had to kill them with slippers all night long. It was disgusting and I'm sick of this situation. The young staff joked about it and he only used insectcide unwillingly. The room has just one socket. You cannot charge smartphone, ipad, PC enough. The speed of wi-fi was incredibly slow and I couldn't use the internet at all. The staffs never did any efforts to improve it. The water of shower was not hot enough. You may catch a cold. The drain pipe was clogged and the basin was always full of water. They sometimes forgot to clean the room. When I got back to the room, it remained messy and I couldn't find enough soap and toilet papers. The room was too dark to read something. I can never recommend this hotel to any friends of mine. The worst hotel ever. It was really unpleasant and waste of money.
Review 84:Nice location.
Review 85:the hotel has no elevator
Review 86:The room was clean and cozy. Not big, but more than enough. The bed was really confy and spacious. The toilet had a small shower with hot water. The breakfast buffet was little but had amazing croissants and bread. The man in charge of the place was really nice, merci!
Review 87:Great location, with good public parking nearby, restaurants all around and within walking distance of the major points of interest. Beautiful funky lobby and good sized room with comfortable bed and small balcony overlooking the square where we had dinner while taking in the local life.
Review 88:Place Voltaire was a bit grungy, rather that picturesque and a bit noisy at night.
Review 89:Ready walking to everywhere in Arles. Balcony in our room was a great addition, especially on a rainy day, since it offered a way to have a picnic outside and still be dry.
Review 90:The shower was tricky, the hand shower and the overhead shower seemed to operate at the same time and we were not able to work out how to sort it out. You could do with simple instructions. Arles needs to sort out its dog mess problem.
Review 91:I loved having a balcony with a table and two chairs on it. We were able ( in February!!!) to sit out on it and have lunch. I enjoyed watching people going to and fro across the little pedestrianised square. We like the the slippers and toiletries in the bathroom and the breakfast was good value.
Review 92:It is January and the room was a little chilly but there was plenty of bedding.
Review 93:It is one block from the amphitheater and one from free overnight parking. It is well-cared for, comfortable, clean and the staff was very willing and excellent in helping with whatever questions I had. The breakfast was very good and an excellent value as was the room. I would stay there again without question, I felt right at home. Wifi was reliable, strong and free.
Review 94:The chair was stained and not clean and the curtains need to be taken care of.
Review 95:The location close to everything the balcony a nice feature to have the view of the place the Voltaire.
Review 96:- no elevator, - staff didn't help with the suitcases ( I was with my mom, and she had got spinal, and she is 60 ),
Review 97:- location, - balcony, - gay friends ( I've got so many gay friends ), - quiet.
Review 98:Frederic was a really nice host! My friend and I had a little problem with the reservation of our next stop in Provence and he was extremely helpful to solve it. Moreover the confort is definitely great: the position (close both to the station and to the very centre) and the location is nice and clean. We had a great stay :)
Review 99:No lift.
Review 100:Excellent customer service. Very clean. High standards and attention to detail. Breakfast of high quality, very generous and very well presented. Highly recommended. Public car park near by.
Review 101:Tinny table on the balcony. Walking up the flights of stairs wouldn't suit some.
Review 102:The staff were helpful, genuinel. It wouldn't suit everyone but I liked its rustic feel overlooking a square with a small balcony away from the touristy part of town. I enjoyed my stay, but then, I have no need of luxury.
Review 103:We got the handicap room on the ground floor which was very nice since they don't have an elevator. The shower was wonderful. Good location near all the ruins. Free parking a few blocks away.
Review 104:Wi fi didn't connect despite pass word etc ? Why
Review 105:Hotel was good, location within walking distance to station and town facilities helpful, and staff friendly.
Review 106:Stairs. I had a knee-ache and it was difficult to go up and down stairs.
Review 107:Excellent quiet location. Every day cleaning. Lovely square in front of the hotel.
Review 108:Wi-fi would drop out all the time if you didn't use it for 5 minutes. No elevator.
Review 109:It was nearly the closest hotel to the station. Staff were very friendly. Very handy to everything.
Review 110:some staff speak French only
Review 111:Location, you can reach every interesting places on foot. Free parking lots are rather close. the price isn't highfor the reasons above.
Review 112:old and not well kept up, too many stairs to reach rooms.
Review 113:Simple place with too many stairs to reach the rooms. If you can get a room overlooking the square, then the lack of charm of this place is a bit off set. It has a good location near the ruins.
Review 114:Our room was not great. It was not as clean as it could have been and also the garbage had not been emptied from the previous guests.
Review 115:We liked having a small terrace and the close proximity to everything. We also appreciated the staff. They were very kind and accommodating.
Review 116:We were put in a ground floor disabled persons room, we are not disabled. It had a disabled wheel chair label on the door, so people thought it was a toilet and tried to open the door. Air conditioning did not work at all the first day we were there, a Sunday, so no one was available to fix it, so we sweltered in our sauna cell the first day and night. One tiny pillow each a thick duvet on the bed and no sheet. The young man probably thought he was doing us a favour by giving us a room on the ground floor as there was no lift.
Review 117:The location was very central and paid public parking was close by.
Review 118:A lift would have been an advantage
Review 119:We were touring on bikes and the hotel kept them securely in the cellar for us. Great central location, good size room and shower, helpful staff. The breakfast was excellent. Enough to keep hungry cyclists happy.
Review 120:No elevator and there are many steps ...
Review 121:The town is small and the hotel is very close to each important monument. The room was pretty and clean with a beautiful balcony. The price is valuable.
Review 122:The door lock was strange that you had to unlock with key to get yourself out.
Review 123:Room was very clean and modern. Excellent value and very good location. Absolutely recommend
Review 124:Small room.
Review 125:Perfect location on square within walking distance of train station. Close to major sites & restaurants. Air conditioning. Good breakfast. Luggage storage after checkout.
Review 126:Had to move the car due to local market, no big problem (clearly announced). Parking (both locations) required a small walk. Light in the hallway was on motion sensor that didn't always work properly.
Review 127:Good airco, good hot shower, great recommendation for restaurant (L'Ecrin, best of the entire trip).
Review 128:The staff was very forthcoming and helpful. The location very convenient - walking distance from the train and close (but not too close) to all highlights of Arles. the room was very nice - as was the petit dejeuner!
Review 129:No elevator and really narow staircase Free parking cca 5 minutes walk from the hotel
Review 130:Location Wifi Close to all atraction. Close to the hotel (on the square) is great place for breakfast:croissant, toasts, coffe and fresh pressed orange juice...great!
Review 131:few receptionist speak English... but it's normal in France...small shower, also normal in Europe...
Review 132:good location, 5 mins to central attractions on foot. comfortable bed and clean bathroom
Review 133:There wasn't an elevator, but luckily our rooms were on the 1st floor and the staff helped my parents with their luggages. Nice recommendations for restaurants. A few minutes walk to the arena.
Review 134:No lift or mini fridge in room
Review 135:Very impressed for a 2 star hotel! Good location between the train station & centre, situated on a nice square. Room had a balcony, beds were big & very comfy. Wifi good & staff all helpful.
