Reviews for The Enniskillen Hotel

Review 1:The decor is really nice but let down by a lack of cleaning in the room. Lipstick smears over the chair and vanity unit and an un-mopped bathroom floor were more than disappointing. The shared spaces were cold / draughty and similarly in need of cleaning. The hotel is also very noisy at night with very poor sound proofing.

Review 2:The hotel is within walking distance of Enniskillen town centre and has on-site parking.

Review 3:This was our second time staying at this hotel. Breakfast is wonderful, staff are so welcoming and helpful. Rooms are spotless and comfortable. Decor is modern and classy. Definitely recommend.

Review 4:The lifts were not working at all over the 3 days we stayed.Iwas not informed until we checked in, although I did get an e-mail to tell me there was a private function at the hotel during our stay.I think the lift information would of been more useful.

Review 5:Location ,breakfast,friendly staff

Review 6:We could not turn the heater off and as such did not sleep very well. We even had the window open all night and a desk fan on and still no relief. We were woken at 8.30 by loud drilling and hammering as work was being completed on the hotel - it would have been good to get prior warning of this!

Review 7:The hotel has a great restaurant. Even though when we were there the restaurant was having work done so a limited menu, what we did have was utterly delicious! The room was lovely as it has been decorated well.

Review 8:We had a lovely stay in the Enniskillen hotel, with very polite staff And the food was amazing Will go back soon so handy for going in to the town at night

Review 9:Lovely hotel, fab decor, very nice staff, comfy warm rooms, excellent breakfast. 2 mins walk to town centre shops, pubs etc. Would definitely stay again.

Review 10:Hair drier lead was too short to dry hair in front of the mirror with comfort. The evening meal menu was quite limited. One of our party was gluten free but when we got down for breakfast, there was no gluten free bread left. I would advise you to inform reception if you have a specific diet.

Review 11:Rooms were lovely with everything we would want in them. Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was excellent.

Review 12:Staff were excellent. We were locked out as there was a party night on ,when it was discovered the young man in the hotel couldn't have been more apologetic and gave us a drink on the house.Kelly at reception is a gem.

Review 13:No staff at bar , after 10 mins had to check with reception for service. Breakfast was not up to usual standard. Wrong order, cold tea, & food not as fresh as it should be.

Review 14:Comfortable rooms, good location, friendly receptionist.

Review 15:fire alarm went of at 8.10am which wasn't the best wakening. other than that this place is fantastic

Review 16:staff was amazing, very friendly credit to the hotel.

Review 17:Evening menu was very basic and considered expensive for the limited variety and presentation of food. Staff very young and lacked experience .No entertainment provided which seems unusual for a Saturday night

Review 18:Room was well furnished and comfortable. Breakfast (room service) was enjoyable

Review 19:Small car park. Small cereal bowls.

Review 20:Modern well designed comfortable room. Friendly, polite well presented staff. Good food and drink at reasonable prices in comfortable bar with a great atmosphere. Good breakfast.

Review 21:not enough parking space, disco started at 11pm and very loud in our room. shower was broken, only boiling hot so unable to have shower.

Review 22:staff were very helpful and friendly

Review 23:The hotel room was very small and dark even after we upgraded to a superior room. We cancelled our second night and went on to another hotel. We were very disappointed.

Review 24:The room was unbearably too warm... Also had booked a superior room which seemed smaller than the last time I stayed in a standard room... But great other than that

Review 25:After stating that check in was from 3pm (already fairly late we thought), we arrived at 4pm to find that our room was not ready. Not so useful after spending over two hours travelling with a young child.

Review 26:The hotel was within handy walking distance of the town amenities, which was useful when travelling with a young child. And the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good.

Review 27:The staff were warm and friendly and extremely helpful. I received a room upgrade due to air conditioning. The staff recommended the upgrade and this most most appreciated. The room was fantastic, really comfortable and quite plush!!

Review 28:The old smell of the hotel and the corridors were very aging. The hotel from the outside was very dated and to be honest I dreaded going inside just from the front appearance. A brighter colour other than grey should be used to at least give life about this.

Review 29:Staff were very helpful and friendly and is ideal for city centre.

Review 30:what I didn't like........I only had one night over stay...:-( I would love a few nights....

Review 31:The staff were excellent, food was gorgeous the hotel was beautiful and spotless....very friendly and welcoming...

Review 32:There wasnt much of an outlook from the windows an no grounds to walk around

Review 33:It was very clean an comfortable an the staff was very friendly an met our needs when needed

Review 34:lighting was poor which made it difficult to . put on make up. the service in the restaurant was poor, waiter seemed half asleep & was incompetent .

Review 35:the décor of our room & the shower were excellent.

Review 36:No bad experience but the only minor thing I would comment on is the toilet light switch being at the opposite end of room to loo and the fan running for 15mins after light was on...

Review 37:Staff were tripping over themselves to be helpful and attentive _ food was fab _ room spotless _ would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends!

Review 38:The food was just ok.Guinness was awful. Bathroom is very modern but very bad lay out, the toilet was placed so close to the wall it was difficult to sit. Location difficult to find.

Review 39:Staff excellent. Nicely decorated, very modern.

Review 40:I was booked into a standard room which was very small. If I was going again I would upgrade to a larger one.

Review 41:The hotel was very central, and the food was excellent.

Review 42:Noicy floor boards wherever you walked. Thin walls that you could hear next door going to the toilet and playing with water taps at 3.30am. But the worst was having your room located above the function the room when a DJ starts playing at 10pm and doesn't stop until 2am. Wasn't told that there would be a party on by staff. Complained at midnight- was told it would be over in 10 minutes, it wasn't. I am 31 weeks pregnant and was looking forward to relaxing weekend away. We checked out early and moved to a much better hotel.

Review 43:Nothing

Review 44:Alcohol (wkd Iron Brew) was out of date by over 1 year, was not evenoffered refund or free alternative although drink not drinkable

Review 45:Choice at breakfast and comfort in room

Review 46:One thing I didn't like would be the heat of the rooms. We were very warm during the night and made it harder to enjoy our sleep.

Review 47:Loved how helpful the staff were, they were very attentive and made sure you had everything you needed.

Review 48:The room was very hot and could not turn off radiator. The shower was scalding hot! No cold water supply to shower.

Review 49:The beds were comfortable. The staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Review 50:8.00 am breakfast too late for my early start. Hotel entrance difficult to find.

Review 51:Perfect location for a walk around the town and a visit to a nearby shopping center. Suited my purpose ideally

Review 52:we had a fridge with complimentary water 2 sparkling 1 still would have prefered 2 still instead for my family.wasnt a great view looking out over an carpark & main road.

Review 53:The staff were so friendly & helpful the room was very nice & spacious Breakfast was very good as well.

Review 54:Only negative comment I could make would be the lighting not the bathroom is poor. Ladies need good light to put makeup on! And my partner commented on it being difficult to shave.

Review 55:Always enjoy this place, great food, cosy bar. Staff are super friendly. Great place to relax.

Review 56:Were would I begin and were would I end This Entire Hotel is Dark Dingy Dismal very Overpriced it is By Far One of the worst Hotels that we have ever stayed in and thankfully one that we will Never Ever stay at Again it Really reminds me of another very over rated and also very overpriced Venue very Close to this one also very close to the town centre that along with this one is also overpriced but do bear in mind this one calls itself a Hotel while the other one dose NOT, Good Bye to Enniskillen for Foreseeable

Review 57:Nothing Whatsoever

Review 58:The whole experience was bad----elevator out of service for 1 full day. Room phone out of service throughout our stay. Lack of staffing and no training of staff. Menu very limited and same for lunch and dinner. Eating available only in Bar and restaurant never available. Parking very limited and no handicapped parking available. Wrong newspaper delivered to room. Room key did not work because it was deactivated. Room very claustrophobic and no drawers available and hardly any closet space. The room light inadequate and not functioning properly.

Review 59:1 staff member, Rory who appeared to be the only person responsible for everything.

Review 60:The wifi didn't work for me

Review 61:Absolutely gorgeously decorated. Didn't expect it to be so nice and luxurious. Shower was amazing. Great choice for breakfast and lovely staff and service. Dinner was very affordable too

Review 62:The in house restaurant had a simple menu but the steaks we had were extremely good quality. The decour was very modern yet cosy. Nice in house pub too

Review 63:The excellent personable customer service from all the staff especially Alex who was very helpful and delivered outstanding service.Lovely hotel great location lovely rooms would definately recommend we will definately be back a

Review 64:Heat of the room wasn't great at times, but the hotel itself more than made up for it! Especially the staff! Second to none!

Review 65:The hotel was very modern and kept in very good order. The staff couldn't do enough for you, from a great welcome to even checking out. We had breakfast and lunch in the hotel and both were very tasty! as for location, well it is right slam bang in the middle of the town, if you fancy a few drinks or even a spot of shopping, the erneside is within 10mins walk! Great hotel served by great staff! WILL BE BACK!

Review 66:The friendly staff, service was excellent we were family and friends 12 in total the staff were first class one of the waiters Alex went over and above. Food was value for money breakfast and service was 100%

Review 67:Underfloor Eco heating - fab but too hot ! However we used air con to keep cool

Review 68:Within walking distance if town centre attractions and restaurants , very comfortable and well appointed hotel, friendly staff

Review 69:check in time was very late in the afternoon and we had to get dressed for a wedding in the toilets as the wedding was at 2pm. There should be better facilities under differant circumstances

Review 70:Bath had no anti slip mat or handrail... Shower bar on wall got really hot when having a shower... Just a bit dangerous if you slipped and fell against it... For children especially...

Review 71:Rooms were very nice and stylish. Towels were new and soft... Lots of toiletries in bathroom... Fan in room was well appreciated.... As was the complimentary water in fridge..... Eggs Benedict for Breakfast was delicious....

Review 72:Not a complaint, just feel there could be better storage within the room... very little closet space.

Review 73:Staff were more than helpful with all requests and very pleasant. Breakfast choice was delightful! Shops, pubs, good food and sites all walkable.

Review 74:Last minute booking but very impressed with hotel and particularly staff who were very polite ,friendly and very obiliging. Light not working in shower room on arrival and was sorted out within minutes of being reported. Close to town centre and food available until quite late. I will certainly be recommending to my friends and family and I will be stayong again.

Review 75:Our water in the shower was hard to regulate an even temperature

Review 76:Location was very central within walking distance of pubs Staff were very friendly and helpful

Review 77:Had a great weekend here. The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. Breakfast was great and 2 for £10 cocktails went down a treat. All staff were so lovely, friendly and helpful. Very close to bars and restaurants.

Review 78:Just one thing was missing was air conditioning. We went out and bought a fan because other guests had fans from the hotel and there was none left.

Review 79:we had a very enjoyable four days. The staff where fantastic and nothing was too much bother for them. Rooms where so clean and food was lovely.

Review 80:Having stayed in 5* accommodation in the area in the past, the only things missing from this hotel are a spectacular view & spa. If a friendly welcome, comfort & helpful staff are what makes your holiday special then you should enjoy this little gem. Excellent value for money & very convenient to town, shops, bars, restaurants.

Review 81:The Entire Booking In Process took ages as the Hotel had takeing it uponitself to Cansel my 2 Booking with them via Bookings.com just becourse Irang them Directly to upgrade one of our 2 rooms, Thus doingBookings.com out of there Commison, As for the Hotel Itself what a waistof £760.00 for 2 rooms for 4 nights The rooms were both Very Dark anddismal and as well as them Needing the Lighting both in the rooms andthe bathrooms upgrading as its the most dimly lit and darkest rooms thatwe have ever stayed in in fact the Brightest room in the entire Placewas the Lift The room lamps also did not work and our 2 Rooms were mentto be 2 Superior Rooms if this is the case I would hate to see a StandedDouble Room Looks like, The bed was Like a Rock to sleep in the room wasdim and Depressing and needs a Complete Facelift, We had to chase up anddown to reception 2 or 3 times a day due to Room Key Cards Not WorkingBulbs going out on us the free wifi is a joke no SIGNAl in our room, have to chase after housekeeping for Towels and Toilet Rools and as forBreakfast thay do not have most of the things on the menu you have tochase after staff to ask for Tea Coffee and sugar and milk Only 2 of the5 Fruit Juices advertised available The Room Used to house theContenetel Breakfast and Cereals we found out is also used as theMassage Room hows that for Hygiene The Hotel Car Park is far to smallwith only 2 Disabled Parking Bays, and from the outside the Hotel Itselflooks Off putting so I will leave it to your immadgenation as to what itlooked like inside but it was not good and we will not be back !

Review 82:Cheeking Out and Driving out of the Car Park

Review 83:Evening bar staff slow, didn't clear table or ask if we wanted desert, totally ignored after main course, table still cluttered with dirty dishes 1 hour after eating.

Review 84:Location

Review 85:The total greyness both inside and out, making it claustrophobic inside and rather like an institution on the exterior.

Review 86:The helpful friendly staff and the general cleanliness of the hotel. Also enjoyed breakfasts and dinners..This would be an ideal hotel if you are dependant on public transport as it is well situated in the town.

Review 87:The heat in the bedroom was unbearable, room was small and floor boards creeked a lot, also the carpet was soaking from cleaners cleaning the stains from the carpet left by the previous guest..

Review 88:The staff at the bar were very friendly they enjoyed chatting to us and we're very helpful telling us where to visit while in Enniskillen.

Review 89:Lots wee things that could do with improvement .like a suitcase stand in room , salt that's not moist and pours outta salt cellar etc

Review 90:Decor was top class. A very boutique modern hotel

Review 91:Room was very hot and next to the kitchen extractor fan and area where staff went for smoke. Window above door meant light coming into room all night. No shelf in bathroom at all.

Review 92:Staff very helpful and friendly

Review 93:Staff took for ever to get us a drink. We had guests asked for dinner 6 drinks were ordered each time and it took 10 at least to get the drinks after repeaditly asking where they were. At one stage they forgot the drinks order and had to ask for it again

Review 94:The rooms were lovely and the food was good. Bar staff were soooooo slow with drinks and there was very few in the bar. I wouldn't like to have ordered a drink if the bar had been busy.

Review 95:Dark, oppressive decor in a tiny room with very poor lighting! It wasn't a particularly warm night when we stayed, but the room was very stuffy and hot - no air conditioning. Room 110 was above the kitchen and right outside the small window was the kitchen extractor fan causing vibration and noise in the room even with the window closed. The noise was very apparent as soon as we stepped into the room! Spoke to a very unhelpful, disinterested receptionist 4 times - very poor customer service and an invisible manager! Distinct lack of care. She couldn't tell us what time the fan would go off but could tell us it would be back on at 07:30! We stayed out until 11:20pm (not wanting to stay in the hotel - no atmosphere or ambience). On coming back in, the same receptionist still showed a distinct lack of interest, but thanks to a member of, who I assume was the kitchen staff, who happened to be going off duty, we got the fan switched off to ensure we got some sleep! So avoid Room 110 and probably neighbouring 109!I was hoping breakfast would be amazing! It was not to be! Chaotic to say the least. The staff were all over the place. I asked for Eggs Bradan, from the menu - wheaten bread, smoked salmon and eggs with hollandaise sauce. Shortly after ordering I was told there was no smoked salmon - despite there being 2 platefuls of smoked salmon on the cold buffet table!!! Don't have on the menu what you can't deliver, especially when we were down at shortly after the start of breakfast service! Disgraceful!Having stayed in a different 4 star hotel the previous night in Cavan it astonishes me how The Enniskillen Hotel has got a 4 star rating and manages to hold on to it. In my opinion this is not a 4 star hotel! On leaving a different receptionist was apologetic when we complained about the extractor fan right outside the room. She said they would try to address the problem - I wouldn't hold my breath and not much help to us on leaving!

Review 96:Easy walking distance to town centre

Review 97:Sadly, there was very little space to hang up any clothes. They remainedin the suitcase. As we have often remarked on our holiday in Irelandthere is never any hook or area to hang up wet coats!

Review 98:Very friendly!

Review 99:This hotel is brilliant was so warming and friendly. The room was so cosy. Staff were excellent with any requests we had. And it is in the town so no need to get taxis with was a plus.

Review 100:Room could have been more brightly lit, but perhaps we didn't check properly as there may have been a dimmer switch.

Review 101:Comfortable bed. Very good breakfast and dinner.

Review 102:every member of staff were first class. The hotel was brilliant and very up to date with everything. We will be passing the word around.we will be staying in your hotel again.the decor is something else. really first class hotel.

Review 103:Staff were friendly, polite and catered for your needs. Great parking area for visitors staying at the hotel. Location is great as it is very central to everything. I would definitely come back to this hotel indeed.

Review 104:Very friendly welcome by receptionist. Bar staff very attentive & friendly. Beautiful rooms, very clean & comfortable. Excellent food, good portion sizes.

Review 105:Staff were genuinely very friendly and really wanted to do their best for us, but slightly inexperienced. We ordered brown bread with our breakfast and it came out frozen, and my wife's egg's benedict had no Hollandaise sauce because they ran out of it!!! Shows the chef is cooking by numbers and using packets and pre made stuff. An experienced breakfast chef or a bit of training would make a world of difference, or the freshest of food rather than that.

Review 106:Really lovely hotel. It's obviously an old building but done up beautifully. Staff were very friendly if a bit inexperienced. Room was lovely and wifi was great. Only a stroll away from the town.

Review 107:Confused breakfast was the only let down - Some items stated on breakfast menu card unavailable or incorrect. Toast stated as served to table but you had to cook your own at the buffet table and table service for hot food, etc was a little erratic. I asked for coffee and after a 10 min wait was served with tea. Lack of butter for toast and when I asked for more another 10 min wait and the notion passed. That said the food was good and staff were generally very pleasant and happy to help with any query. They just lacked a little direction / co-ordination.

Review 108:Location, décor and staff attitude to helping guests was great and made for a pleasant stay. This hotel sets out to provide a luxury / boutique service and with a little extra push will achieve great things.

Review 109:Car parking is limited.

Review 110:You can come and go as you please.. room cleaned when we were out both days. Fridge and safe in the room are a big bonus and the breakfast is first class.

Review 111:Rooms very warm although fan included with room. Very busy breakfast waiting times slthough food lovely and plenty of choice.

Review 112:Lovely hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Very clean and tidy. Would definitely return.

Review 113:Breakfast service needs to be a little bit up to the mark. The sausages are fresh and very good but have too much salt in them. Also, our orders were not carefully taken and we got more than what we had asked for on our plates which sadly resulted in wastage.

Review 114:Very polite and friendly staff, always willing to go that extra mile. Beds are super comfy and showers are good. The location is quiet and close to the city centre. Breakfast is very sumptuous and we were quite full until lunch time. The pancakes were a treat!

Review 115:Noisy room until after midnight on our first visit. We were located next to a noisy funnel from the kitchen. A quieter room on our return visit which was more expensive

Review 116:Friendliness of staff and easy location. Reasonably priced, comfortable and clean.

Review 117:The meal was expensive and very ordinary chips were said to be freshhand cut but were frozen and I DIDN,t know cod caught be legally caughtthat small

Review 118:Rooms were clean and comfortable

Review 119:The only thing I would suggest to improve the room would be the addition of a brighter light. For someone who wears makeup it is difficult to see properly. Maybe the addition of a brighter stand-alone light would help.

Review 120:The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Review 121:Not well signed we took over an hour to find it ,had to ask several people ,hotel itself could do with make over as it was very dull outside no flower pots or flower beds to brighten it up inside was very dull colours as well no character at all considering it uses names of Samuel Beckett and Oscar Wilde one

Review 122:Our room and bathroom were excellent we had everything we could need

Review 123:Stayed on a Friday night and the bar closed at 11pm, not sure if this is different on a different night?

Review 124:The comfiest bed I've ever slept in, staff were extremely helpful/friendly! Breakfast was perfect and the cocktails were too.

Review 125:Minor, but irritating: the light switch for the bathroom was just inside the bedroom door, not at the bathroom door.

Review 126:Breakfast was very good with some interesting options

Review 127:The lady that knocked on are door at 11 and then spoke to my Mother like she did shouldn't work with the public!no working kettle in room no offer of a new one and at breakfast the milk was sour!

Review 128:The lady at reception Saturday Morning was a gem lovely manner and polite

Review 129:Staff are welcoming and really helpful. Room has almost everything you could need, king size bed and a good sized en suite, but it was very warm so maybe a fan/better ventilation for warm days?

Review 130:There was nothing at all we didnt like.

Review 131:The rooms were spotless and warm. The breakfast was great filled us up till dinner time. the waiting staff at breakfast were really helpful and also the reception staff. We were only there 2 days and the room was cleaned both days.
