Reviews for Hotel Bristol

Review 1:Wifi was a bit unreliable but fine for a short stay/

Review 2:Wonderful welcome, and very helpful and friendly manager and manageress. Room was spacious and comfortable, and bathroom was excellent. It was a great location for us - easy access to and from the A26 motorway.

Review 3:Very warm welcome with hot drinks and snacks provided after a long journey at no extra cost. Well-equipped and comfortable room. Great choice at breakfast.

Review 4:Nothing

Review 5:Room might have been a bit dated that's me being picky but shower was marvellous room quiet and Madame was so friendly giving us great advice as where to eat plus fresh milk for our morning cup of tea

Review 6:Well-positioned for an overnight stop. Good room with comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Fiveminutes from centre of town where there are numerous restaurants.

Review 7:Difficult to find spoons, forks etc at breakfast. Only 2 teabags, 2 coffees and 2 milks in room

Review 8:Very helpful and friendly staff. Easy to locate hotel. Super shower. Good flu breakfast. Tea and coffee in room. Free, fast and easy WIFI in room

Review 9:This hotel was not the best in the world, but was the best value for money which we have seen for some time. Airconditioned, well designed rooms, clean and with a superb breakfast

Review 10:We were made to feel so welcome. We were given help, advice and maps to make our stay interesting. We followed as many suggestions as we could in our time there.

Review 11:I had problems connecting to the free wi-fi

Review 12:The owner was extremely welcoming, talking me through every aspect of the hotel I could possibly want to know and telling me how best to get in to town. Using her advice, I took a 30-minute walk into the town centre for my evening meal and then took a taxi back. The staff at the hotel couldn't be more helpful.

Review 13:Nicely decorated, comfortable room on ground floor, as requested. Excellent, spotlessly clean shower room. Well provided courtesy tray. Friendly hosts. Much appreciated email to warn of road works near by. We will certainly return if visiting the region. We didn't take breakfast, but highly rated in Visitors' book.

Review 14:We arrived at 13.00 and our room was ready. Free, good wifi and parking. The receptionist who checked us in spoke excellent English and was so helpful - she gave us maps, instructions about parking, and what to do and where to eat. She was a superb one- woman tourist office. Thank you!

Review 15:A little far from the centre, but if its easy for the autoroute it doesn't hold that it will be close to the centre, so be prepared for a drive or taxi to a restaurant in the evening.

Review 16:We were well received at the hotel which is just a few minutes from the autoroute. Clean, smoke free room with good wifi connection. Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice, good to see the selt service boiled egg machine.

Review 17:This was a delightful independent family run hotel. Clean , comfortable and an excellent breakfast , situated 40 mins walk or 10 mins drive from the centre of town

Review 18:Nothing but a bit of a walk into the City Centre.

Review 19:Extremely comfortable and well appointed premises. The owner spoke good English and was helpful. Brilliant breakfast

Review 20:The couple who run the day to day looking after guests etc are the most helpful pleasant people you could wish to meet the breakfast second to none. I was able to have a garage for the night as our car was full of our holiday tackle

Review 21:nothing really but have to have faith when finding it

Review 22:Great reception on arrival; really helpful about everything; lovely room; and really good breakfast catering for all tastes in abundance.

Review 23:Breakfast range and quality was excellent but thought €11.00 cost a tad high

Review 24:easy access to AutoRoute and also close to town for anyone staying in the area longer and wanting to explore the area

Review 25:The welcome we received, the room was very comfortable, the water was hot and on our return journey, when we asked if we could purchase a sandwich, this was readily agreed for our ongoing journey to the UK

Review 26:A very friendly welcome from the owner who explained how everything worked in my room from the shutter to the shower. Good help yourself continental breakfast was available. Easy parking.

Review 27:We had several unusual requests, such as a place to play cards with the other couple we traveled with - or purchasing a bottle of wine and having the proprietress bring us a cheese plate with it. Anything we needed was provided, even if we didn't ask. What great hosts!

Review 28:Lovely staff. Great location for stop over. Fantastic breakfast. Provided us with all the additional things you need when travelling with a toddler, high chair, cot, sleeping bag

Review 29:Friendly welcome, clean facilities and a great breakfast for a early start driving to the south of France. Thank you. Would recommend to other travellers. Especially with dogs.

Review 30:Internet was frustrating. Had to keep logging back in after every use.

Review 31:Bridgette and Daniel at the front desk were friendly, courteous and helpful. Especially Bridgette who speaks English. She help make dinner reservations for us, gave us directions to places and even changed the French speaking GPS in our vehicle to English for us. Breakfast was good, great assortment of breads, fruits, cheeses and cold cuts.

Review 32:We had to lug our baggage up a flight of stairs. After being on road three weeks, it wasn't easy.

Review 33:Brigit was helpful and friendly. She gave us the best tip for champagne cellar tour as well as a great restaurant. They made us feel right a home.

Review 34:Wifi was very complicated to log on to. I was stood in reception with about 12 Americans who couldn't log on and the manger offered no help. He said it our equipment. Found out myself how to log on eventually. Next morning it didn't work at all. Wifi was connected but not to Internet server!

Review 35:Price and room

Review 36:Friendly staff, couldn't do enough to help. As it's pet friendly, we expected there to be an odour in the, room. There was not. Everything spotlesslyl cleanc. Lovely bathroom, huge shower. Best hotel bed I've ever slept in!

Review 37:Nothing against the hotel - it is a shame that booking.com won't update the directions - there are roadworks for 4 months which means that the usual exit you take is blocked. It's probably ok if you speak French but if you arrive late and only speak English, good luck!

Review 38:Convenient location, friendly staff, excellent room, free parking. Would definitely stay here again!

Review 39:Finding it - the road directions from the booking.com website were misleading and unnecessarily complicated. Wrong exit given from motorway - the following one is simpler and would save getting lost

Review 40:The helpfulness of the owners

Review 41:A well thought out room with all the facilities one would hope to find for an overnight but rarely do. The shower particularly is a revelation! The owners are really friendly and hands on.

Review 42:Bear in mind most of the town closes at 9.00 pm so either eat earlier or et there before. Not a dislike. Just a useful tip :)

Review 43:This is a wonderful little family run hotel. The breakfast is superb, fresh french pastries, hams, cheeses, delicious coffee. Everything you could possible want. Incredibly friendly, quiet location, super rooms. We are coming back in the Summer for a few days to explore the town and nearby Metz. We cannot recommend enough.

Review 44:Leaving.

Review 45:On arrival the lady owner made sure I was welcome and along with fresh milk and buns she also pointed out the directions to the nearest supermarket and petrol station. She also recommended a local restaurant. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 46:When we arrived we were made very welcome by Brigitte & Daniel Masson and Brigitte, who spoke excellent English, bent over backwards to help us to find some locations and places of interest.

Review 47:The detailed advice given on where to visit and park, especially in chalons. The breakfast was lovely, and the selection available was amazing. The room was very comfortable and large, with a separate toilet, and large shower room. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

Review 48:The disadvantage of being convenient for the motorway is that you have to drive (about 10 minutes) into town for a meal.

Review 49:We arrived after a very long drive to be greeted by a lovely receptionist (owner) who despite a queue building up told us about the setup, local restaurants, got out a map and highlighted routes for us. She then took us to our room and explained everything and fetched us some fresh milk to make tea. She was brilliant and so so different from our other experiences in French hotels. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable and for a short stay it would be great. Very convenient for the A4/A26 with a Leclerk for fuel down the road. The hotel also is much better looking in real life than their photo.

Review 50:There was no Wi-Fi despite it being advertised as available throughout the hotel. We were told that it was a failure by the company and that reception didn't have it either. The pillows were poor and so was the water power in the shower

Review 51:The welcome was lovely and the lady at reception went to a lot of trouble to explain where to get the bus into the town and where to get off. She was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us. Breakfast was good and we were not rushed to leave at all.

Review 52:You need to go into town for a meal and although we found an excellent restaurant the rest of the town was a bit run down. As a stop over it is good.

Review 53:Staff so helpful One of best breakfasts, huge seection of breads, cheeses and cold meats Plenty space in room Huge choice of TV channels Excellent large shower with various spray heads

Review 54:Found shower difficult to operate, but probably didn't listen to instructions properly. My fault!

Review 55:Easy to find with Satnav. Friendly owner, good recommendation for dinner. Would use again for over night stop on way to south of France

Review 56:The owners were very friendly. We stayed over twice to and from our destination. On our return trip we were remembered and the lady at reception provided us with lots of extra tea, cakes and milk. She was very kind. Clean rooms and very nice bathroom. You have to drive if you want to go into town to eat but there's a great hypermarket up the road so you can get your own snacks!

Review 57:You must get into town before 9.00 pm to be able to eat. If you are travelling through Europe and get delayed then this can be annoying but there are late night pizza places at a push.

Review 58:This is a wonderful family hotel. Spotless, welcoming and very comfortable with a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Dogs are welcome, thankfully. We had a lovely time and would recommend time and time again. Great value too.

Review 59:Wonderful reception where we were shown where everything was and how it all worked. Very clean, lovely a complete breakfast. The owners were so helpful. Will go back. John Cann

Review 60:Owners were so helpful and accommodating. Very impressive breakfast with all you could ask for. Will definitely stay again when travelling through Reims.

Review 61:Just a little too far to walk into the main part of town. Most restaurants closed on Sundays. Didn't take breakfast, seemed a bit steep at €10 a head!

Review 62:Lady at reception on Sunday (the owner I imagine) very friendly, extremely helpful in giving us directions to eateries in town.

Review 63:Nothing not to like.

Review 64:On arrival, friendly, efficient, helfpul staff Bedroom/bathroom very good. Tea/Coffee facilities in room. Gave information as to location of restaurants that were open, as we arrived on a Sunday. Excellent breakfast. No hesitation in recommending. Good parking.

Review 65:Encountered only one member of staff. A male who was rude, ignorant and impatient. Workers and staff members that sat on the entrance steps smoking.

Review 66:Breakfast selection and quality

Review 67:Nothing.

Review 68:The room was spotless and quiet. The breakfast was really good with a marvellous variety and its own boiled egg machine. just pop in your egg, take a timer and eat your cereal, then it's ready.

Review 69:No restaurant for evening meal but the patron recommended a good place in town centre where there are many to choose from.

Review 70:Comfortable & spacious room with large bathroom & separate toilet. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice of delicious food, good coffee.

Review 71:No restaurants easily accessible - this information should be given to clients when booking. Having previously stayed at the Bristol we were aware of this problem.

Review 72:A very comfortable hotel with many improvements. Plenty of parking with some under CCTV. Easy access to the Autoroute. Staff are very pleasant and helpful.

Review 73:Excellent staff/owners who couldn't be more helpful. Great location for an overnight stop.

Review 74:Excellent location with on site car parking
