Reviews for Hotel Madeloc
Review 1:Staff were friendly and couldn't,t have been more helpful.location suited us as it was fairly close to the town centre but far enough away to be quiet and peaceful at night.
Review 2:Staff were very helpful. Breakfast was great. Aircon was quiet and effective. There is parking on street supervised at night or in the underground garage.
Review 3:Superb Hotel, friendly staff who were most helpful. Extremely clean. Pool and Air Conditioning was a must in the heat! Location was about a 10 minute walk from the main area of Collioure. Would recommend to anyone!
Review 4:Liked everything about this hotel.
Review 5:We spent 3 days in this lovely hotel in August and wished we could have stayed longer. Perfect room, spotlessly clean and the staff without exception were charming and helpful. So impressed we have already booked for next year.
Review 6:Be prepared for 'climbing'! Hotel is uphill from the town centre (port) - only 10 min walk - and then maybe also there's the stairs (no elevator).
Review 7:Clean, comfortable room, lovely swimming pool area with views of the mountains. Helpful staff.
Review 8:having to pay 15E for parking..NO amenities in the room.. with exception of shower gel soap dispenser...
Review 9:The beach and Village were within a 7 minute walk.. The Hotel is in a residential area...extremliy quiet..no traffic noise or "party" noise.. safe, quiet. very very clean and modern...Covered garage parking a plus...
Review 10:Great pool, great breakfasts, spacious rooms and lovely balcony. Really appreciated the air-conditioning in the heat. Location good, a walk up the hill to the centre - views of the mountains.
Review 11:The breakfast was very expensive for what you got and there was no bar which would have been nice
Review 12:We booked here based on a recommendation from a friend and we weren't disappointed! Absolutely beautiful town, the hotel was in a great location with such friendly staff and great parking facilities - we had a private garage as the parking out the front was full, beautiful bedrooms - (we got there and decided to stay and extra night as it was so lovely so had to re-book another room) Would defiantly stay here again and recommend to anyone.
Review 13:Lot of stairs to climb but no problem if You have no disabilities.
Review 14:We were at the very new apartment. It was newly build new part of the hotel. Everything was great. Rooms has great facilities including kitchen and very quiet but efficient aircondition. Also the pool was nice and there are parking hall for cars. Hotel has also older part which also looked fine but we didn't see the rooms there. We didn't have breakfast on hotel but there are breakfast available with separate fee.
Review 15:This hotel is in a great location overlooking the mountains. It is a short walk to the central area of the town but, worth it to come back to a quiet area. The pool is a perfect place to relax after a day of hiking and walking around the town.
Review 16:No lift and built into a steep hill. Don't forget anything and have to go back for it!!!
Review 17:Loved the location. Nice views from our private balcony. Great swimming pool. Quiet bedroom with double doors onto balcony. Super air-con!
Review 18:The staff went out of their way to help us when some family members were robbed in Barcelona and arrived in Collioure with no cash, cards or passports. The staff were simply outstanding. Made our holiday. Thanks Jerome for your excellent restaurant recommendations.
Review 19:Staff were rude and paranoid. We had to pay a deposit for apartment and we were not allowed to leave until they checked the apartment . Then we were accused of stealing an ashtray,. We dont even smoke
Review 20:The pool gardens areas are full of Mosquitos and perhaps a spraying of these areas by the hotel owners would help along with ants everywhere. I was badly bitten on my legs while sunbathing at the pool and on the room terrace.
Review 21:Swimming pool and location of the hotel was good and very friendly staff very comfortable stay the double room was small and the pictures on booking.com were a bit misleading as they are not of the standard double/twin rooms with terrace however the garden terrace facing the garden was lovely. Perhaps showing the bedrooms as they actually are would help choice of room selections. Loved Collioure a lovely town.
Review 22:very nice helpfull staff, i had to go to the A&E and they were very good, finding us the address , and also helped my husband order flowers and champagne for our wedding anniversary, we had a room with a large terrace, the breakfast was good as well plenty to chose from, a lovely stay
Review 23:We didn't have a bad experience but the heated swimming pool wasnt very warm at all.
Review 24:Good location, quiet but close to the centre. It was nice having a balcony and a swimming pool area. The parking was very useful and was worth paying for.
Review 25:No lift, but the staff were very keen to help us with our luggage.
Review 26:Lovely terrace where we enjoyed the delicious breakfasts & we really appreciated the superb view from our balcony. Staff were very welcoming & helpful. Great in all respects!
Review 27:It would have been nice to maybe serve drinks and tapas in the evening so after a day out you wouldn't have to leave the hotel
Review 28:Great pool and lovely decoration
Review 29:There was confusion about the coffee in the morning. We asked upon arrival if we didn't want to pay the €12 breakfast price if we could still get coffee at the hotel. The staff person said yes and led us to believe it was complimentary. Upon check out we were charged for the coffees. There was no way of knowing that there was a fee or how much. We thought that when we asked specifically about the breakfast price and the coffee that we would have been given that information.
Review 30:Our stay was wonderful. We loved the location of the hot and the rooms were spacious and very comfortable.
Review 31:Beautiful hotel in a beautiful town. Liked the slightly out of town location. Helpful &a friendly staff. Pool a real bonus. Would definitely return.
Review 32:No wi fi in the apartments Steep walk
Review 33:The apartment was very clean and modern , bed very comfy . the receptionstaff were extremely helpful during the french air strike. Great views .beautiful town use the 1 euro bus
Review 34:Rooms are OK, standard
Review 35:Took a room with Terrase option, offering a amazing view on the backcountry side Staff very pleasant and helpful Few minutes (walk) from citycenter and port
Review 36:There is no elevator or lift and we were at the top of the hotel so had to carry the bags up 3 long flights of stairs. The stairs were wide and we didn't mind but older people may struggle.
Review 37:Rooms, location, staff and breakfast were great!
Review 38:Wardrobe too small. Bedside tables too high and small. Plastic under-sheet on bed. €10/day for parking outside in front of hotel, out of season, seems unreasonable
Review 39:Staff were helpful. Good to have a fridge in room and efficient WiFi.
Review 40:The staff were absolutely fantastic - couldn't do enough to help us enjoy our stay in this beautiful town. The breakfast was excellent & our room had a terrace overlooking the mountains - just !
Review 41:A good hotel in a wonderful town. The staff were very helpful and friendly. If we go back to Collioure again (which we almost certainly will), then we will stay there again
Review 42:I liked everything about this hotel. No complaints!
Review 43:The staff was very friendly & helpful. They spoke English well, which was a big help to me since I don't speak French. The location is very quiet & relaxing. It is a 10 minute walk to town from the hotel but we like to walk, so no problem for us.
Review 44:Mosquitoes.. Not very nice. But not a major problem with the right protection.
Review 45:We found the hotel madeloc a perfect place to stay during our visit to collioure. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was buffet style with a good choose. There isn't a bar area here which would be a good area to socialise and meet fellow travelers, but the village is a short walk away with plenty of bar/ restaurant options. The staff are very friendly and English speaking. Go for it!!
Review 46:We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Madeloc, the staff were incredibly helpful, the hotel was beautiful and we had a fantastic view from our balcony. No complaints from me!
Review 47:No negatives!
Review 48:Staff welcoming, comfortable room, good swimming pool. Breakfast was good value as good quality ingredients and range of choices in the buffet.
Review 49:Did not like having to pay for parking. Its not the cheapest hotel should have parking as a paying guest included. The reception staff were very good but the breakfast lady a little grumpy.
Review 50:Room and outside area off room lovely.
Review 51:Some traffic noise. Although on a side street that was one way, dust carts collected refuse most days at about 6am and caused a racket. Couldn't always get as comfy in bed as I would like.
Review 52:Attentive staff. Extremely pleasant and helpful. Gave great ideas about the best restaurants and other places to visit in the town. The toilet stopped flushing on Sunday morning in our bathroom, but within two hours the staff had organised a quick fix. On Monday morning the faulty part was replaced and permanently fixed. Fantastic response.
Review 53:Bit of a climb to second floor rooms with no lift.
Review 54:Excellent AC in bedroom with a divider between bed and sitting area ensuring sleeping area kept cool. Pleasant private sitting area. Breakfast decent. Private (€15 a day) underground parking available, which you'll need as public parking around town is at a premium.
Review 55:Absolutely no criticisms
Review 56:This hotel is perfect in a perfect town. Welcoming staff, lovely, air conditioned room with wonderful view. Great buffet breakfast.Very handy for the town but a quiet location.
Review 57:Small balcony with room was great for enjoying the view. Nice swimming pool a real bonus. Breakfast was superb, inside or on terrace with landscaped garden climbing the hillside. Staff very efficient and helpful. All in all, a great place to stay!
Review 58:No lifts so 30 - 50 stairs to climb.
Review 59:The room (superior) had been recently been renovated to a high standard of finish, and it was reasonably spacious and comfortable. The TV was new and had a good choice of channels. The pool terrace was larger than expected with plenty of sun and shade as well as loungers to enjoy it on. The pool was a reasonable size. The staff were helpful and spoke English well. The breakfast had a good choice of food. Parking was very good. Collioure is not a cheap place to stay in but this hotel offers high standards at reasonable rates.
Review 60:No lift (this would be an issue for some guests as there are a lot of stairs Occasionally noisy drains Slightly out of Collioure, one Km walk into the centre of town.
Review 61:Quirky style Extremely clean Excellent breakfast Lovely swimming pool Friendly helpful staff
Review 62:No lift Not suitable for guests with walking difficulties unless you can get 1st floor room
Review 63:Great Location Lovely pool area Fabulous rooms with terraces Helpful friendly staff Excellent continental breakfast A real find in Collioure
Review 64:Obsession with rules plus poor service. Staff unprepared to help us with bags. Pool towels had to be signed out and back in before we were allowed to check out. Hotel policy is apparently to charge cancellation fee pre-arrival. Minibar ostentatiously checked in front of us to ensure we couldn't falsely claim something was missing. I could go on. Overall feel is that you are not to be trusted and staff are doing you a favour letting you stay there.
Review 65:Excellent location in a quiet part of town, 10 minutes from the sea front. Nice roof-top pool. Rooms smallish, given that this is an expensive hotel, but comfortable.
Review 66:This is not easy for the hotel to control but the flies were sometimes so bad at the pool that you had about 10 on you at any one time and it was unusable. A shame because I decided to pay extra for a hotel with a pool. Maybe get some advice from pest control, do a regular fumigation or at least get some citronella or burner that would put them off.
Review 67:Very comfy bed, lovely and quiet, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Review 68:Just two things - no lift and an uphill walk from the main town area, but not too long.
Review 69:Nice place to stay. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Quite small room, but it has a large terrace with sunbeds. Wifi, minibar, car parking.
Review 70:The small private terrace was useful as room was quite small and dark. However reasonably decent value for such a popular town at a weekend in the height of the summer season.
Review 71:A lift would be wonderful.
Review 72:Hotel Madeloc is a lovely place to stay. Our room had a large terrace with sunbeds. Breakfast was very good. We would like to thank the staff for all the help we received as unfortunately my wife was admitted to hospital in Perpignan. This all happened in the middle of the night and without their help it could have been a very different outcome. So thank you again everyone. We hope to return sometime and finish the holiday!
Review 73:No lift and a lot of steep stairs in the hotel. An uphill walk from the main town area. This hotel is not suitable for everyone as a consequence.
Review 74:Excellent breakfast in very nice surroundings. Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 75:Nothing!! Our stay was perfect...thanks.
Review 76:Where to start!! I like everything.!!! We arrived very hot after a long motorcycle ride and were greeted by a most pleasant and helpful receptionist - she even asked if she could help us carry in any of our luggage. The hotel is beautifully designed with an excellent eye to detail. The room, likewise, plus a beautiful shaded terrace with views over the countryside - Room 16. The pool, again overlooking the countryside, had lots of comfy loungers and adequate shade. Breakfast was the best I've had in my many travels and could be taken either in the bright, airy dining room or out on the terrace. I would recommend paying for parking as there does not seem a lot of space in the centre of Collioure. At the time we were there some building work was going on in the garage. We mentioned that there was some dust on our motorcycle and asked for some water to rinse it down......only to be told they had already cleaned it for us!!! Now that's what I call service and was typical of how we were treated throughout our stay. I think you can tell we enjoyed our stay there!!!
Review 77:Our room was very dark and rather small. Old carpet. Shower not brand new. A smile from the receptionist upon check-in would have been nice.
Review 78:Nice pool with free towels included.
Review 79:Up hill walk from town when hot A bit dusty from building work
Review 80:Lovely pool, great breakfast and spacious room Staff extremely helpful with advice and booked Dali beach house on line for us
Review 81:Take an iron and board with you !! They do not have any to lend and they only offer oaying service with 48h delay......
Review 82:Good location, nice pool, with car park
Review 83:Superbly friendly staff and a lot of charm. The test of an enjoyable stay is whether you would go back. Definitely and Collioure is a wonderful location.
Review 84:There were a total of 66 steps to get to our room from the hotel reception level. When we arrived there was no offer from the staff to help us carry our bags to our room.
Review 85:We reserved a superior room and it was very large with plenty of space. It looked as though it had been recently renovated and everything was new. The bed was Queen size and very comfortable. The bathroom was large with a separate toilet. The air conditioning worked very efficiently and was also very quiet. Our balcony had a beautiful view of Collioure.
Review 86:- one day (exactly it was the morning 31.05.14) there was a very unpleasant blond lady on the reception, started with talking to us haughtily, ended up with being honestly rude. I would fire her if I were a boss. All the other receptionists - young man and another madmoisellle (she was on her duty 01.06.14 morning) were very professional and charming.
Review 87:- nice location - close to the citycentre, far from noise and hastle - splendid pool with a beautiful view - cleanness - rather good value for money, but anyway imho Colliour is not a place for budget tuorists.
Review 88:Nothing really. Would be hard pushed and mean to find fault of any note.
Review 89:The Hotel was situated convenient for town but at the same time in a peaceful residential area. Nicely decorated and the ac was excellent particularly as the temp was unseasonally high. Pool was nice and lounge area clean tidy with some shelter from trees in addition to fixed sun parasols. We had a room at side with lovely private terrace. Staff well very helpful and even taught me some rudimentary french !!!!!
Review 90:Staff not very proactive or helpful about the city etc
Review 91:Nothing
