Reviews for Hostellerie de Plaisance

Review 1:Nothing - utterly perfect

Review 2:Wonderful Hotel, service & quality in every sense. It was a treat for my 50th Birthday from my husband and I felt truly spoiled. All the staff knew why I was there and made me feel special. Having stayed at many wonderful hotels in France & across the world, this one was "up there".

Review 3:Nothing

Review 4:Spectacular rooms, service and food make for an enchanting and one of a kind experience. Stunningly beautiful hotel in a medieval village par excellence.

Review 5:Air conditioning didn't work on one of the hottest days of the year. The next day we were moved to another room and upgraded and the management waived the room charge for the first night. The management handled a difficult situation very well.

Review 6:Really hard to say there is anything I didn't like... but you are in a village and there is no pool or workout facility but in all honesty they were not expected or missed.

Review 7:Unbelievable setting and staff. The restaurant was amazing... Try the Chef's choice 3-course with wine pairing! It turned out to be a great place to stay and still enjoy wine tasting in all the wine regions of Bordeaux. It was the most picturesque setting of all 5 regions in Bordeaux.

Review 8:There was nothing to dislike

Review 9:The restaurant was excellent. It would be a mistake not to eat here once. While no hotel is perfect this was as close as you are likely to get to perfection.

Review 10:Nothing!

Review 11:It's location in St Emilion is superb and without rival. Also has a terrace overlooking the village that is terrific for breakfast through dinner. And a Michelin 2 Star restaurant on the premises....not much more one can ask for.

Review 28:Very pricey

Review 29:Dinner Room View of city Staff very helpful and friendly

Review 30:This was the exceptional hospitality venue in a month of travel in France

Review 31:A/c inefficient; water temperature lukewarm - also significantleakage on bathroom floor from shower. Bar sub-optimally stocked whenrestaurant not open (on Sundays and Mondays). Reception staff ratherarrogant - and management faceless and elusive over Sunday/Monday.

Review 32:Fantastic central location in village, with good selection of bistroswithin walking distance. Bedrooms and beds exceptionally comfortable ,modern classic design with modern amenities.

Review 33:I asked about lunch on the saturday when we arrived at aboiut 2.30 and was advised that the hotel only provided the gastronomis menu and the restauarant was full it would have been nice just to have a salad nicoise or sandwich of something small on the terrace. recognising that the waiters were required in the restauarant.

Review 34:the location is amazing- the views are stunning from the terrace. the gardens in the hotel are beautiful everything is well thought out. the lifts were good and the grotto and gazebo in which they were located were delightful the room was beautiful- the bed was so comfortable the sheets and bed linen were wonderful crisp but soft- the bathroom was well appointed and enough toileteriies that one does not need to carry any in hand luggage for a weekend visit. we came for the jazz festival and it is perfectly located for that

Review 35:A little stiff (snooty) while trying to uphold a Europe standard ofservice. We travel frequently and have stayed in many French five starproperties but have generally experienced more warmth from the staff inother properties. It's very expensive for the services and amenitiesavailable. We also visited Caudalie and it actually seemed like a bettervalue and the staff was lovely.

Review 36:Fantastic location and a beautifully renovated property. It is chic, charming, and has an amazing restaurant on site.

Review 37:The main hotel restaurant was not open on Monday night - the only night we were staying.

Review 38:The hotel itself is gorgeous and very luxurious. The views from the room were stunning and the fruit basket on arrival a nice touch. We called ahead and asked the Reception staff to book some tours for us and they were very accommodating and efficient. Would come back in a heartbeat. The valet service parked and retrieved the car for us. It would be very hard to pick fault with this hotel. It's expensive but a worth the money as a treat. It's relatively small so you can see where your money is going.

Review 39:A true luxury hotel. Spacious suite. Magnificent location. Attentive staff.
