Reviews for Manor House Country Hotel

Review 1:The leisure part was closed- but this was clearly explained and only makes us want to go back when it reopens after the refurbishment work! Wifi signal wasnt the best.

Review 2:Fabulous setting beside the water with lovely views! The room was luxurious, with all you could need, robes, tea/coffee and a fridge. Nice view of fountain. Fab room service menu, and suitable seating/table to use.

Review 3:Stunning location on edge of Lake with a great view from the lounge. Beautiful building with spacious luxurious rooms. Very clean and the staff are very friendly.cosy lounge areas to relax by a nice turf fire. I didn't get a chance to stay for dinner but the restaurant gets rave reviews and no corners were cut with the breakfast, best of ingredients. I will definately go back some weekend for leisure and hopefully will get out on the water. This place is great for business or leisure, I travel a lot around UK and IRL. This place is top notch.

Review 4:Regular customers... Always amazing! Our stay was a Christmas present and was fab. We had to change planned dates at last minute due to family issue and Booking.com and hotel were very helpful in rearranging as well as waivering the 'cancellation fee' which was in place when we required the date change.

Review 5:The hotel was beautifully done up for Christmas. Every member of staff that we met from each department was extremely helpful. Our room was really lovely. Thoroughly enjoyed having the pool/ poolside facilities to myself on Monday morning!

Review 6:The only problem we had and I feel bad to say anything bad about our stay as this is our third time but we found Wifi very poor

Review 7:Our room was beautiful staff very helpful

Review 8:Relaxed surroundings, beautifully decorated for the festive season with a sense of calm which was just what we wanted after the madness of Xmas, staff were professional, courteous and obliging without being intrusive. Will be back next year.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:Always feels like your coming home for a visit. Room was excellent and in a good position close to friends/family in other rooms. Staff are all excellent and friendly at their jobs. A change of management with a few changes. No problems at all. Food and service also excellent

Review 11:The bed was a little hard for me but just my preference.everything was excellent

Review 12:The staff were very polite and helpful and the decor in the whole hotel was beautiful.we were very impressed with it all.

Review 13:Room was dusty, there was a quarter bottle of champagne left in fridge with a half of glass full. Handle on window was broken key card wouldn't work took 10mins to first get into room had to get night porter then to let us in at night time

Review 14:Breakfast was beautiful room service staff was great also the night porter really friendly

Review 15:one of the restaurant was getting a make over so they were using another restaurant we had booked for a meal at 6pm put they did not have seating arrange for us or other people, onone on staff know what to do in the end we just sat at a table and after awhile someone serve us, the meal was lovely

Review 16:how everyone was willing to see we had a greart stay

Review 17:No one thing.

Review 18:When we arrived our room was not ready but we were at least an hour early for check in. We had coffee and when I returned we were upgraded to a mini suite which was amazing

Review 19:Absolutely excellent service have stayed a couple of times and definitley won't be the last! Staff are so friendly and helpful food is lovely and rooms are beautiful

Review 20:Just felt that the toiletries for two people were a bit inadequate and that guests should not be paying for the newspaper in a suite.

Review 21:Location great, as was the food!

Review 22:My stay at the Manor House was amazing. Unfortunately I had to go to work but enjoyed the wonderful reception I received when I returned. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 23:Peaceful location, really comfortable rooms set in a beautiful hotel. We love the Junior Suites! Breakfast great, Reading Room so lovely! We are regular visitors and will continue to be!

Review 24:First two room keys didn't work and only one of the replacements. We would have like massage but only one person doing this and fully booked.

Review 25:The leisure and spa were really good as was the fine dining restaurant both food and staff

Review 26:When I arrived I had just received an email notifying me of a weekend offer which included Friday and Saturday night bed and breakfast as well as a dinner. I asked at reception if I could use this offer as I had booked for the two nights but paid a lot more. Girl at reception was very unhelpful and just gave a very clear 'no'. Entertainment in the Cellar bar on the friday was non existant. When I asked about it no one could give me an answer as to why no entertainment was on. The paint on the ceiling of our bathroom was also peeling(room 101). Not acceptable for a hotel of this "standard".

Review 27:Breakfast was good. Dinner was good.

Review 28:Leisure centre v uninviting. In our room wash hand basin needed good scrub to get rid of green scum around plug hole

Review 29:Staff could not have been more welcoming . Stunning views and excellent breakfast ...and available till 11!

Review 30:We both Lovely The Hotel just 1st Class. We never stayed anywhere as sooo Beautiful. The room was out of this world Im beautiful. The food was all so beautiful. The staff were so pleasant and very helpful.

Review 31:nothing

Review 32:the location is quite beautiful, but for me the attention to detail was wonderful. the staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this hotel i could not fault anything

Review 33:The hotel needs to turn on the heat everywhere is cold,,, the corridors, the rooms and where breakfast is served me. Also not enough staff on ... Reception staff quite unpleasant at times

Review 34:Lovely member of staff called pat and carol who done so much to help me

Review 35:We had to leave!

Review 36:An excellent hotel in a beautiful location with friendly professional staff and great food...and a good price. What more can you ask for? The Perfect getaway! Highly recommended.

Review 37:Service very slow Staff professional but lacked any real warmth - buffet at breakfast limited

Review 38:Room wass impressive in every way - comfortable basement bar restaurant .

Review 39:On our stay the boiler was broke so we didn't have hot water in our room and the spa was cold. We couldn't even use the steamroom or hot tubs.

Review 40:The grounds are beautiful and the staff where lovely.

Review 41:The staff are always very welcoming and obliging! Beds are sssssoooo comfortable, This is at least the 16/17th time we have stYed in this hotel! Booked to stay again 12th Dec ! Can't wait!

Review 42:Didnt stay long enough to coment on this quistion..

Review 43:First time staying. Was very impressed. Food was excellent. Staff very friendly.would like more info about aera an what to do at this time of year.

Review 44:My elderly mother wa with me and when i booked i asked for a downstairs room. I booked by email when we got there receptions said very matter of fact lying "your phone doesn't accept withheld numbers so we couldn't tell you no downstairs rooms. My mother has mobility problems and this spoilt the holiday but porter good but was stressful for me too as I had to carry her tripod etc.

Review 45:The area was lovely and the Porter and staff were helpful. Room lovely with good view.

Review 46:Staff were very welcoming, relaxed atmosphere, lots of nice comy chairs to relax in throughout the public areas. Amazing views over the lake. Dinner in the Beleek Resturant was 1st class, with very good service.

Review 47:View of rather messy car park to rear with just a small view of lake. Had much better view to lake on earlier visit.

Review 48:A very comfortable hotel. Large room and good bathroom. Excellent food and service (with views) in main restaurant.

Review 49:I'm very picky but I felt there was quite a bit of noise from the building itself.

Review 50:The Manor House is a grand hotel in a beautiful setting. Rather opulent, good for events, like weddings.

Review 51:This hotel was extremely comfortable with my room overlooking the lake. This staff were very helpful and pleasant. The buffet breakfast was excellent. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 52:Couldn't book table in main restaurant until 8.39 as occupied by group Too large for us .

Review 53:Location and facilities We had a junior suite which was very good value with great views of the lough and loads of room Staff very helpful

Review 54:Lacking a little attention to detail eg: Fireplace in residence lounge was being used as a rubbish bin; no hangers in the closet; radiators in bedroom were turned up to high making the room like a sauna.

Review 55:Old style of building and situation on the lake.

Review 56:had requested walkin shower allocated room with bath/shower eventually after complaint transferred to room with proper shower, although it meant another flight of stairs not good for older people with walking difficulties.

Review 57:Absolutely nothing to dislike.

Review 58:Every single one of the staff could not have been more helpful and friendly. Overall an wonderful wedding day and night at an excellent hotel.

Review 59:Spa reception very outdated and does not match the high standard of the rest of the hotel. Spa treatment was however excellent. No wifi coverage in room.

Review 60:Restaurant meal was outstanding. First class menu as well as fantastic value. Restaurant staff very friendly. Room was large and comfortable and clean. Perfect for a relaxing break.

Review 61:We stayed at the Manor for the first time since our wedding there in 2006 and had an incredible experience. The leisure facilities are clean and friendly especially the hot tub! We had dinner at the Cellar Door Restaurant where the food, wine and service were all outstanding. Our room was very comfortable with the most enormous bed and lots of little extra luxuries.

Review 62:Disappointed we did not have a room with a view,it was our only request on booking.would have like to be emailed any offers,as we had an offer the last time.

Review 63:Food was good ,really enjoyed our afternoon tea.

Review 64:Keycard would not open the room door. Guy on the front desk was condescending, gave us a new card and sent us back to try again. Card would again not open. We were left sitting in the hall while they sorted it out. The duty manager saw us sitting there and upgraded us. Had dinner at their fine dining restaurant and wife vomited in middle of night. Pretty sure it was from the food. Manager deducted the cost of one meal from our bill.

Review 65:The hotel is set in nice grounds. Superior bedroom was very nice. Management responded well to issues.

Review 66:We had a beautiful suite with a balcony but no balcony furniture so couldn't sit outside to appreciate the view. Attention to detail is needed also. Our hairdryer was missing and had to call for a replacement. Not a big issue but as I said attention to detail is what sets great hotels apart.

Review 67:This us a fabulous hotel. Very quaint with period furniture but modern facilities.

Review 68:Bedroom had no air con. It was 25degrees in room. We seemed to be above kitchens because there was constantly a smell of cooking coming in windows and a lot of noise from extractor fans

Review 69:Beautiful hotel and location. Staff very pleasant. Loved the breakfast .

Review 70:The whole overall experience of the manor house was amazing I would encourage everyone to go to manor house .the staff and facilities are 10 out of 10 and I will be booking manor house again in the near future .

Review 71:Waiting staff in bistro bar very inexperienced a few issues with drinks orders etc, steak not rested prior to serving blood running through dish, large portions on plate is staff were experienced and new menu would be able to explain to patrons that additional sides not required etc . Gym facilities very very dated

Review 72:Suite very spacious

Review 73:The room was a bit warm and we had a problem setting the air conditioning but got this fixed.

Review 74:Beautiful view from our room. Friendly staff. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The hotel leisure facilities were excellent also. Will be back again.

Review 75:Euro - Sterling conversion rate meant it was expensive.

Review 76:Excellent food, friendly staff, very comfortable, beautiful location, convenient to Enniskillen.

Review 77:The rooms were so warm and the plug in air conditioning was so noisy it was difficult to sleep! Hotel suggests not opening windows due to flies at the lake.

Review 78:Fine dining was a disaster! Service was excellent but the food was really awful. Pea soup was like eating grass soup, (smell alone was fowl) goats curd was tasteless like white foam & fish was tough.... Dishes all have foam like substance ... for decoration which is really odd & off putting!! Can do a lot better for fine dinning! We felt sorry for the waiting staff who had to compensate for such poor food!

Review 79:Loved the decor & period style of this hotel. It was very relaxing & the roaring big fires were a definite hit while having lunch;) Suite was fab;) loved the views!

Review 80:The only problem was with the extremely slow service in the Bistro (1 & 1/2 hours for another party to be served any food) and overall disappointing food. The executive chef from the Belleek Restaurant needs to have a look at the presentation and quality of the food being served in the bar & Bistro as it is not of the standard expected from a 4 star hotel.

Review 81:View overlooking the lough was fantastic. Junior Suite was worth the extra for the view alone, but also enjoyed the TV in the bathroom and excellent room facilities.

Review 82:Experienced problems with guest Wi-Fi. Lack of atmosphere in the Cellar Door bar.

Review 83:Beautifully maintained hotel interior and exterior. Very personable and approachable staff. Food to die for.

Review 84:We like walking. I think the hotel should promote the Castle Archdale forest. It's a wonderful amenity and so close to the hotel also that you have a golf course. On booking the hotel these weren't given the prominence they deserve and they are assets to the hotel. I only mention these as we don't have boating experience. Again loved the hotel

Review 85:The staff the very comfortable bed the cleanliness the towels the swimming pool thank you

Review 86:Some soiled laundry was left lying outside our room during cleaning of other rooms and clearly visible for quite a few hours. Surely this should be out of sight of guests Immediately.

Review 87:Great Food and views.

Review 88:Our room had a shared door with the room next door- due to the gaps around the door if felt like the man who was snoring very loudly in the next room was in our room.

Review 89:Beautiful location. Food was lovely. Outdoor hot tub was great!

Review 90:Have absolutely no complaints about our stay here.

Review 91:Celebrating our 30th Wedding on arrival the complimentary bottle of Prosseco and nibbles was so touching and the view of the lakes just made our stay here perfect.

Review 92:lack of vegetarian options in cellar bar and bistro food in cellar bar and bistro was disappointing particularly the veg soup and pesto and pine nut pasta fire alarm set off during night and again at 8am (out of hotels control reception told us, no apology given) but still very annoying!

Review 93:pool and leisure facilities were excellent, loved the outdoor hot tub the amazing breakfast delivered to your room, was delicious and had plenty of choice for vegetarians location and grounds were beautiful and plenty of things to do nearby as it has its own marina

Review 94:Would prefer buffet choice for hot food at breakfast, same as cold choices. Slow to serve and not any better than a buffet choice.

Review 95:Very fortunate to have glorious weather. Facilities good. Food good in cellar bar.

Review 96:Terrible Staff, all young and not very experienced, waited over 1 hour 20 minutes for food, tables uncleared all around us, and not that busy in restaurant, steal clear, real shame as location is fantastic! Also breakfast is ordered and not set out to pick from hot counter, order was wrong when arrived and waited again on this for ages, staff all very young and no real interest in customer service my worst experience yet, travel away quite abit, do not waste your money going here, stay somewhere else!

Review 97:Location and decour of hotel was nice!

Review 98:The room was very comfortable but the lighting was not good for reading . The main dining room food was excellent as was the view - and very pleasant staff . Pool was good as well.

Review 99:It rained !!!!!!!! Then it rained a bit more, but you cannot blame the hotel for that, can you?

Review 100:ALL the staff were very friendly, they wanted to help you and were pleased to do so. Nothing false at all. Great food then the pool, sauna gym etc to work it all off. If we return to the area we know where to stay.

Review 101:There were stains on the bed clothes. The room and hotel in general on the upper floors were very cold.

Review 102:The room was very nice and the facilities were good. The breakfast was outstanding and the staff were very helpful and attentive.

Review 103:The hotel itself is beautiful, and the staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Even though they were redecorating, it was all done very subtly and did not disturb our stay.

Review 104:Didn't get enough time there

Review 105:We were there for a wedding so got to experience a lot of different aspects of the hotel, we liked the beautiful surroundings, loved the interior and exterior of the building had a great stay

Review 106:I have stayed several times this is the first time the bed was not so good

Review 107:The setting is idyllic and the grounds beautifully kept. The leisure complex is very nice.

Review 108:Slightly uneven bed (memory foam?) and being told where to sit in a completely deserted breakfast room

Review 109:Attentive service by friendly staff, good facilities and comfortable all round. Breakfast and evening meal were both excellent too, and reasonably priced in the bar

Review 110:Had an evening meal in the cellar bistro. Food was excellent and staff friendly but had to wait 45 minutes+ to be seated despite a reservation.

Review 111:Great view over lake, friendly staff, pool area was quiet and well suited for our wee one. Breakfast was tasty with a good selection of cold and hot items.

Review 112:breakfast not great scramble eggs cold bacon hard when staff told plate away didn't even ask what seemed to be wrong with the breakfast I didn't eat

Review 113:the staff where so friendly and helpful made you feel special

Review 114:Very hot in our room, told staff on departure and they said it was probably due to the facet that we were above the pool, spa area. We opened the windows and turned off the heat in our room while at dinner and it was still very hot when we got back. Which made our nights sleep uncomfortable - we slept with the windows open but could here the air con machine through the night outside. We ate in the cellar bar and it was ok - nothing to write home about. The staff didn't seem that interested in how we were doing. Never checked to see if everything was ok. And after ringing the buzzer on table for service, our plates were taken away but still no sign of the second glass of red wine, on arrival of the main couse. It came after asking again - and met with no apology. Again we waited about 15 mins for service in the bar upstairs for an after dinner drink, even though there were only 8 people in the bar. No problem with waiting but no recognition that we were even there while we waited. During breakfast again things just arrived a little late our coffee and toast arrived after we had finished eating.

Review 115:The surrounds are beautiful, as is the hotel, the staff on check in were good. the place was really lovely and clean.

Review 116:The presentation of breakfast is a bit boring and the fruit on display was not very appetising.Staff was friendly.

Review 117:Staff are very friendly and helpful.I have to comment on Pat one of the staff who took us to our room,we had two single beds on arrival but he sorted it out with out any hassle.

Review 118:Disappointed in the spa facilities, steam room wasn't working, sauna was only partially working, when I went to report it was told it was being fixed but other patrons said its always like that!

Review 119:Leisure facilities could be updated slightly. Dessert not homemade.

Review 120:Friendly staff. Beautiful room with a stunning view. Breakfast was lovely as was our dinner.

Review 121:The fine dining was far from fine, the staff where unhelpful during the meal.

Review 122:The rooms where fantastic and the receptionists where very good and very able to answer any questions.

Review 123:Very relaxing Stayed in a junior suite which had a beautiful view and was very clean with a very comfy bed Staff in all areas were excellent and couldn't have done more to help. Will definitely be back

Review 124:Bad smell of stale smoke in our junior suite when we first checked in, thought it would go away after a few hours but stayed throughout our stay. It was a non smoking room

Review 125:The location of the hotel, friendly staff and chilled atmosphere throughout

Review 126:N/A however room was warm during the night but not an issue.

Review 127:Excellent value, did get a slightly cheaper quote from a nearby hotel but have stayed before and knew facilities were much better. Breakfast very good.

Review 128:Some ignorant guest was smoking the previous night in the non smoking room we stayed in making the room odour very unpleasant for two non-smokers. Ordinarily I would have complained about this to management but the room was perfect in every other way and view was outstanding, however we spent most of our night in February with an opened window. I hadn't the heart to complain about it to management with everything else being so perfect, it isn't the hotel or managements fault for some inconsiderate, un-culture idiots!!

Review 129:Everything about the hotel was perfect, the room (I'll get to this in dislikes), the staff, the food, service were all deserving of a 5* rating. Highly recommend staying here, however be respectful of other guests staying the night after...don't smoke in a non smoking room!!

Review 130:For me, the bed was too soft, but that's a personal thing and doesn't take away from the quality of stay, offered at The Manor House.

Review 131:This is the perfect hotel to relax in and forget the stresses of everyday life

The Fine Print

Please note, Manor Leisure will be closed from 4 January 2016 until 7 March 2016 due to refurbishment work.
