Reviews for Hotel Jean Moët
Review 1:Lovely staff that were very accommodating. They were able to arrange for a special bottle of champagne to be on ice when we arrived. They also were able to provide ice buckets and champagne glasses if we brought a bottle of champagne back to the hotel with us for a drink before dinner. The location is fantastic - just around the corner from the beginning of the champagne avenue, only a 5minute walk from Moet and various other champagne houses. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and the man at the front desk when we arrived provided some excellent suggestions. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Review 2:Very friendly staff. Though no parking no site, street parking is free through the night till 9pm. Both of us and our baby had a good night sleep. Sufficient selection of breakfast. Impeccable location.
Review 3:The coffee machine didn't work, tea and milk weren't replaced - small things but we were paying £135 a night without breakfast. The sauna wasn't hot and the 'pool' was really just a plunge pool and rather cool too for November.
Review 4:We liked the position of the hotel, the great bathroom and the comfortable bed.
Review 5:None
Review 6:The hotel is ideally located to explore Eperney and surrounding areas, the trip from Calais was largely motorway. Parking was close by, and reasonable. Anybody visiting this hotel will not be disappointed, you will be made to feel most welcome. Lots of good place to eat within walking distance, and if you like Champagne this is a must visit town
Review 7:The bed was a bit too hard, but all the rooms we stayed in had much firmer mattresses than we are used to.
Review 8:The reception upon arrival was helpful and friendly. The room was lovely and spacious. The Champagne cave and wine bar were both incredible.
Review 9:There was a champagne bar with opening hours 4 til 10. We arrived for a pre dinner glass of bubbles at 7.30 only to be told by the receptionist it would not be opening, without any explanation!!
Review 10:Location was fabulous, as was the hotel. Our room was very nice, clean with everything we needed
Review 11:Nothing
Review 12:As they say Location, Location, Location and this Hotel is very well located for a visit to the Champagne Houses. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpfull ,their English perfect. Special thanks to Melissa.
Review 13:We were next to the elavator and it was noisy.
Review 14:The staff were very friendly and helpful, all their recommendations were excellent. The breakfast was good value. It was a great ocation near champagne houses and restaurants.
Review 15:Very helpful staff who gave great restaurant recommendations an assisted with bookings. Downstairs is a champagne bar where you can do tasting of a deletion of champagnes. The location at the end of champagne avenue is excellent as you can walk o all th champagne houses!
Review 16:We thought 15 Euros was a bit on the high sid
Review 17:Perfect location for shops and resturants parking for us was no problem as we found a space immediately outside the hotel door - breakfast was very good and plenty of choice
Review 18:Our room bad choice, although the attic was beautifully decorated and spacious we were continually ducking our heads to avoid rafters! Spa bath but no shower- Spa was closed although heated indoor pool available.
Review 19:Hotel is lovely close to centre ville, great breakfast friendly staff.
Review 20:Spa is very small and sauna electric so not as hot as might hope
Review 21:Comfortable and clean room-excellent staff and recommended good restaurants. Always at hand to help
Review 22:We have nothing that could go into this box
Review 23:The family style approach. The room was not a standard box and it contained some beautiful furniture We really liked the Nespresso machine Every thing was beautifully clean and smelled really fresh
Review 24:Right from the outset, the staff were fabulous and very helpful. Beautiful garden directly across the road. 2 mins to Ave de Champagne. Only let down by the weather. Lovely room and very comfortable
Review 25:My second time at this beautiful small hotel. Location of the hotel and the willingness of the staff to help and assist with restaurang bookings and recomendation of different champagne houses is everything. I can realy recomend this hotel.
Review 26:Spa services were unavailable. Atic room ceiling was really low that you knock your head all the time. Tiles were broken in bathroom. The breakfast area is by the entrance so people are walking by like in a station. Very arrogant and unprofessional staff.
Review 27:I book 3 rooms at this hotel and none of the guest were happy.
Review 28:The wifi was a little spotty, otherwise zero complaints.
Review 29:The staff at the hotel went out of their way to be accommodating and helpful. Including booking dinner reservations and offering great advice on Epernay in general.
Review 30:Spa centre closed due to technical problems but no offer of compensation in terms of the cost of the room. Shower was draining slowly which resulted in the whole bathroom be coming flooded. Had to have a very quick shower. We reported this but again no offer of compensation in terms of the bill. Breakfast was expensive for what it was. Service was slow and had to ask several times for the coffee to be topped up as they ran out. This may seem fussy but I expect more for 200 euros for one night. On the same trip i stayed in some IBIS budget hotels for a quarter of the price abut got better service.
Review 31:Good location. Good quality rooms. Initial welcome very professional and friendly
Review 32:Nothing!
Review 33:Excellently located in good area five minutes from railway station. The girl on reception (the manager?) was very welcoming, showed us round our room, and was helpful and efficient in dealing with a minor problem we had on Day 2. A classy place.
Review 34:Breakfast poor value for money. Room had Nespresso machine (which was good) but with only two capsules, one each for two people. To get more we were charged €1 per capsule! Poor for a hotel costing this much.
Review 35:Superb location. Very helpful staff. Lovely loft room.
Review 36:The separate WC in our room was dingy and claustrophobic. The bathroom was clean but not pristine and only big enough for 1 person at a time, even though it had 2 basins! The aircon wasn't quite cold enough for us. We really don't like those long skinny pillows.
Review 37:The staff were lovely, cheerful and friendly. The breakfast was great.
Review 38:The location was in a prime location in the center of town. The staff were very helpful with telling us how to get to places. The room was very affordable.
Review 39:Only minor issue was availability for parking on site but the main carpark is literally across the road.
Review 40:We adored everything about the hotel. Aymeric and his colleagues are all lovely people. They looked after U.S. and our 18 month old toddler with a deftness only experienced in boutique hotels like this. Looking forward to returning soon.
Review 41:having to pay extra to park the car (on roads or in public car parks - would have been nice if the hotel had been able to come to some arrangement with the city authorities on this); hotel accommodation lovely but on the pricey side.
Review 42:Perfect location, beautiful interiors, very friendly and helpful staff, good selection of food at breakfast buffet, the champagne bar next door.
Review 43:Wifi drops out when you are in an attic room, but works well in the ground level dining area / sun room.
Review 44:Facilities are really nice. Friendly & helpful staff, Melissa was really helpful and asked regularly if everything was ok.
Review 45:The only regret was that we didn't stay longer.
Review 46:Stepping into the cool hotel lobby after a hot train ride from Paris was a welcome relief. The hotel staff we welcoming and helpful about all aspects of our stay in Epernay, and our room was modern and comfortable, while maintaining a lovely period feel. We were worried that brig in the attic we would suffer from the heat, but this wasn't the case at all - again, nicely airconditioned. The location was perfect for exploring Epernay with the Avenue des Champagnes around the corner, as well as the Tourist Centre from which we rented e-cycles to explore the surrounding area.
Review 47:Great place to stay! Centrally located and easy to get to the Avenue de Champagne. The staff were very nice and exceptionally helpful. The room was great! We'll definitely be back!!
Review 48:The cost Banging your head off the ceiling (I am short) Spa not All working Toilet seat broken (Plastic in a 4star hotel-really?) Worth about half what we paid and that's being generous
Review 49:Location Bed
Review 50:The hotel was very small. The spa area was disappointing, again very small. There was an indoor heated pool but this was tiny and not big enough to swim in. The breakfast was limited although the staff did cook eggs to your specification.
Review 51:The hotel was pleasant but a bit small. The room was a twin room and the beds were on the small side but comfortable. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel closed it's doors at 8pm but there was an excellent champagne bar beneath the hotel where we could sample many great champagnes.
Review 52:Was difficult to find a nice restaurant for dinner in Epernay - many were closed, other were fully booked, had to stay in the queue.
Review 53:Very stylish and cosy place. Quiet street but very close to Avenue de Champagne. Good breakfast. Epernay is a must visit place for all champagne lovers!
Review 54:Wifi was terrible - could read email but not send them, could see Google news, but could not open web pages, no streaming, etc. They had a nespresso machine in the room and offered two capsules per day which was nice, but ours did not work.
Review 55:Loved the room, shower, and bathroom set up. The pool was great to unwind in after a day on the avenue de Champagne. Location was central!
Review 56:No parking provided but lucked out with nearby on-street parking.
Review 57:Ambiance, location, staff responsiveness. Champagne tour information provided by staff.
Review 58:Noise from floor above (but know its an old building so it can't be helped). Spa pool a little small (but better than none!). These are minor problems and I will stay here again.
Review 59:Large room, comfy bed! Friendly and helpful staff. Parking not always right outside but large public car park very close by.
Review 60:We were so impressed with everything the champagne valley had to offer. We loved the hotel and it was a great place to anchor ourselves. We loved breakfast and our room. We only wish we had another extra day or two to explore the area and restaurants. We would return to this hotel again!!!
Review 61:Shower faucet issue: either cold or boiled hot, can stay at a mild temperature.
Review 62:Everything seems brand new and the cloth dryer in the bath room is so helpful.
Review 63:A buffet breakfast was available and met our needs. If you are someone who likes to have dinner in your Hotel it is not available but the nearby restaurants are good.
Review 64:A good central location in Epernay and no problems with on street parking at a reasonable rate. Very helpful staff who can speak English if required. Rooms very clean, comfortable and had recently been refurbished.
Review 65:Breakfast was a bit pricey at 15EUR so we opted for a nearby bakery.
Review 66:We enjoyed the service-focus of the staff, the well-appointed rooms and the convenient location.
Review 67:Although the rooms are advertised as 'soundproofed' there was a bit of noise when a person above walked around in heeled shoes and there was a door nearby that slammed fairly often.
Review 68:The staff were all very helpful and they spoke much more English than we spoke French. We were recommended a lovely restaurant, and shown the way to the station saving us a cab fare. They could say on their website that they are a 5 minute walk from the station! The young owners were very nice and we wish them every sucess in their venture. We will return.
Review 69:We stayed 3 nights and the staff could not be more helpful, advising us of restaurants and wine caves. Very good breakfast. Public parking was closeby as was the railway station for a day trip to Reims. A very nice boutique hotel.
Review 70:WiFi was awful. We couldn't even send emails so cancelled breakfast and left to get WiFi elsewhere for business needs.
Review 71:Good location, friendly and helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms.
Review 72:Bed could be of somwewhat better quality
Review 73:Very friendly personnel, excellent breakfast (incl. eggs and bacon + vegetables), nice room (nr.5) with enough space, hotel well located, nice bar c-comme at the same location
Review 74:To pay 3 euros for coffee on top of a £187 room cost. A shower that didn't work and a bed that although was sold as 'superior' was small, uncomfortable and hardly qualified as a double. The 'spa' facilities, part of our package were 'broken' so unable to comment further although no refund or reduction was offered.
Review 75:The friendliness of the staff and the welcome were first class and at first sight the room was adequate although the cost was high. The breakfast was good and overall we enjoyed our one night stay and Epernay as a base. The reason for our stay was a one night stop over in the Champagne region en route to visit family in Alsace and so we were happy to pay the cost for a night of supposed semi luxury. The Champagne in the room was welcome and enjoyed and part of the package but the room let us down. Would we visit again? Epernay, yes, this hotel, probably not. Happy to pay the cost but deliver the goods. Could do better.
Review 76:There are no staff on duty at all at night. (I don't think they were even on the premises) Maybe this is usual in France but it was the 1st time we had come across it.
Review 77:Shame they charge you 1 euro per pod for the coffee machine - seems abit over the top when paying a fair amount of money for a room!
Review 78:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and couldn't doenough for you.
Review 79:Very friendly service and nice staff. Champagne bar and store "behind the door". Very central location, near tourist information center that has a great service, too
Review 80:Bathroom small
Review 81:Superb location one street away from the Rue de Champagne Very helpful staff. Nice rooms if a little small The most amazing shower! Great place for a weekend away
Review 82:Although the suite was enormous, we had to be careful not to bang our heads on the beams!
Review 83:The helpfulness when we needed to arrive a day earlier - were given a lovely, characterful suite at a very fair rate
Review 84:Very expensive for champagne tasting Prices are similar to the big cities for known brand names
Review 85:Close walking distance to champagne houses Small town, everything in walking distance Varieties of champagne never seen before
Review 86:Towels could be more plush.
Review 87:Having left a package at another hotel prior to our arrival in Epernay, I was eager to have it forwarded to me. Aymeric assisted me with phone and e-mail. Melanie also assisted us with dinner recommendations. Melissa prepared fine omlettes and Sigita looks forward to even more refinements in the near future.
Review 88:Very small rooms and staff not very helpful. No hand rails in very largeshower. My wife sliped and couldn't grab onto anything to break herfall.Staff didin't seem interrested.
Review 89:Nothing.
Review 90:This is a gem discovered in Epernay. Attractive entry/breakfast room, friendly bilingual staff, excellent room finish, and breakfast was brilliant!
Review 91:This hotel is great - nice rooms and goods showers. The location is perfect - right at the end of the Avenue of Champagne, around the corner fjrom Moet & Chandon. Staff was terrific and made great dinner recommendations. A definite recommend!
Review 92:Small bathroom Price No evening meals Being charged 50 euros for a missing remote even though we left it on the bed!
Review 93:Reception staff Comfort of the bed Quiet Location
Review 94:Lack of fresh air in the facility, intermittent Wi-Fi connection
Review 95:Great position though no on-site parking though cheap public parking generally available close by, breakfast not included though kettle with tea and coffee in the room was appreciated, very helpful staff
Review 96:If I had to desperately find a fault it was that the WiFI was at times unreliable, so if you're people who are heavy users when travelling it might occasionally bother you, but for us it was all we needed!
Review 97:Wonderful staff, lovely hotel. Breakfast was great, (hot and continental). Can not fault the place - especially the welcoming staff.
Review 98:The Spa was very limited. TINY sauna, small pool & the hot tub was not on. Wouldn't bother. In addition the cooked breakfast was extremely disappointing.. Baked beans, frankfurter sausages & scrambled eggs.
Review 99:Location was excellent. Helpful staff.
Review 100:Our reservation fell through the cracks regarding not being alerted that the Air Conditioning had gone out as well as the sauna. We did not get the room we requested and they blamed it on Booking.com showing the wrong room configuration for a double with extra bed. Our tall 15 year old was in a cot that was too small for him. It was an attic room so VERY hot! We left a day early. They did work with us to discount our stay, however. Wifi went in and out.
Review 101:Great location for the Tour de France, Champagne houses, and restaurants.
Review 102:The air conditioning did not work due to a power outage in the area. The weather was usually hot during our stay but the staff overly accommodated with electric fans in our room and room rate discount.
Review 103:This boutique hotel included all of the amenities and professional/friendly staffing to make my stay the most enjoyable. The close location to the train station and Avenue de Champagne was an added benefit. The best room in the hotel is the Salmanazar (42). It overlooks the front enclosed patio/dining area and has 3 windows that open to a gorgeous view and sunrise.
Review 104:The TV didn't work The AC "broke last week" Bathroom unbelievably small Completely misrepresented the hotel on booking.com; lacked truth in advertising. Overall the worst night's stay of 14 fabulous nights in France.
Review 105:Location
Review 106:Only criticism was lack of hotel parking, but its excellent location and comfort made up for that
Review 107:Fabulous location, the manager could not have been more welcoming and helpful. A wonderful stop over. We will be back
Review 108:We had no air con but there had been a fire in the road so effected the street.
Review 109:Location and ease of use no problem with any questions. Always happy to help.
Review 110:Excellent manager and staff, great location so very happy!
Review 111:Freindly staff and could not be more helpful. Location is great ! Facilities are perfect, rooms clean and fitted out very well.
Review 112:Staff, support for local bookings, breakfest, localization, care and attention to small details
Review 113:Shower water leaked a bit from the stall
Review 114:Extremely noisy floorboards above made sleeping essentially impossible. Room was very warm
Review 115:Couldn't have been more central for a trip to enjoy Epernay and surrounding area
Review 116:Great position. Very nice room. Very helpful staff. An excellent place to stay.
Review 117:Very friendly and helpful staff
Review 118:Staff was friendly and accommodating, location was in the heart of the town with easy access to everything.
Review 119:Excellent champagne bar.
Review 120:Excellent location, great service - very friendly staff & very comfortable rooms.
Review 121:central location to all the champagne houses, lovely small boutique hotel
Review 122:Very helpful staff, great location.
Review 123:The proximity to Avenue du Champagne. The value for money breakfast, excellent stag and decent size rooms!!!
