Reviews for Hotel Le Bon Port

Review 1:It is quite a surprise to me that the hotel room does not provide hair dryer. I consider this as a drawback, but I still rate this hotel very high.

Review 2:The manager is wonderful, period. The view is second to none. The room is clean. Parking is convenient.

Review 3:The smell! The room had a very strong, unpleasant odor, particularly in the bathroom (which smelled strongly of cat urine). The mattress was extremely firm and uncomfortable.

Review 4:We loved having a private balcony with an amazing view. The walk into town was extremely enjoyable.

Review 5:Location was just superb, and the water view we had from our bedroom window was breathtaking! We found the staff friendly and so accommodating. Their restaurant recommendations were first class. We will definitely love to go back and stay.

Review 6:The bed wasn't very comfortable - rather an elderly mattress I suspect

Review 7:Excellent view from our bedroom over the bay of Collioure. The staff were very friendly and helpful

Review 8:Plumbing rather antiquated, the shower room facilities needed replacing really.

Review 9:Was absolutely thrilled to bits to get a view over the port of Collioure from our hotel window. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. Kettle in room with tea, etc., comfortable and clean room.

Review 10:Nothing!

Review 11:The views from the rooms are stunning. The rooms are simple but sufficient, the bed comfortable. The guests are a mix of French, English and American (the owner is a transplanted Scot).

Review 12:Not very well soundproofed. Could hear bathroom activities of neighbours above, water running, toilet flushing etc, and also walking about above.

Review 13:Comfortable bed, and although in need of updating, the bathroom provided lovely big bath and abundant hot water. Nice adult only sunbathing terrace, and beautiful views.

Review 14:If you are the type to attract mosquitoes, bring some repellent, just in case.

Review 15:Lovely hotel, short walk down to beach and town center, beautiful view. Very clean rooms, and lovely clean swimming pool, never crowded.

Review 16:Beautiful location with a sea view, great staff, lovely breakfast, lots of nice little touches like guest towels by the pool. We preferred the small, quiet cove by the hotel to the busier beaches in the center of town. 5 minutes walk into the main bar/restaurant area so nice and quiet.

Review 17:Breakfast was over priced in comparison to local outlets. Tarrif was high for what was on offer but then the lical area was full and popular. Steps badly in need of repair with many tiles broken. Pool towels not replenished. Needs a refresh.

Review 18:Good location and great views

Review 19:We had a family room however the room is quite small for 4 people. We spend most of our time outside so didn't really matter.

Review 20:The hotel is in one of the nicest villages I have been to in France. Collioure is a charming, beautiful sea side town. Must see if you are in the area. The hotel is very close to centre and the host is very charming and helpful.

Review 21:The only minus was the wifi wasn't too strong. Kept dropping out. Not too much of a problem really!

Review 22:The position was great, easy walking distance from the main town and a little away from the crowds. Lovely little beach in front of the hotel down some steps. The lady at reception (with Scottish accent?) was lovely. Very helpful and friendly.

Review 23:Fantastic location, friendly staff, basic rooms but all you needed with fantastic view of the sea. Decided to book for return overnight journey. Collioure, wonderful place.

Review 24:Location , view, greenery and staff

Review 25:Great little find! Friendly staff , beautiful view, parking. Quirky little place which we adored. Will definitely recommend and will go back on our next trip in that area of France

Review 26:Very poor bathroom. The outside is shabby and could do with a coat of paint.

Review 27:Perfect situation with car parking facility. The reception staff are most pleasant and helpful

Review 28:Room/furniture could need an upgrade.

Review 29:Magnificent view across the bay to Collioure town and the medieval castle. Very nice surroundings with a windmill, vineyards and a castle on top of a hill - all within 15 min walking distance. The Scottish-French proprietress is very helpful and friendly.

Review 30:nothing bad to say

Review 31:Place was beautiful, breakfast was the nicest I’ve had at a B&B and the hostess was very friendly and helped us when our hire car broke down.

Review 32:The location was fabulous. Just a short stroll from collioure centre with fantastic views. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Excellent stay. We hope to return.

Review 33:Great location short walk to beaches with views from our rooms, sitting & dining terraces & pool towards the sea over Collioure; spacious & comfortable rooms & beds. Good buffet breakfast & had wifi.

Review 34:Nothing much; some aspects of the room and bathroom were a little bit tired. We did not take the breakfast as it seemed poor value for money. WE were charged high season in the first week of July when some hotels in the town were still Middle Season.

Review 35:Wonderful views of the town, from our room and public terraces. Great location, a very short walk from the town, and just above a small shingle beach, great for snorkelling. Location avoids the noise of the town centre at night. Staff were welcoming and friendly, owner makes an effort. Room was of good size and the coffee making facilities were appreciated. Almost every room is different as to size, view, balcony, cost, so there is a good choice, but it has to be exercised.

Review 36:Get there early if you want to use the tiny hotel car park

Review 37:Perfect position, 5 mins walk into town and beach with large choice of restaurants and bars. Very friendly helpful English-speaking staff. Lovely sun terrace and pool, breakfast outdoors overlooking the sea. Idyllic!

Review 38:Wi-Fi reception was a bit dodgy (only a minor problem which did not detract from the stay)

Review 39:Le Bon Port is in a great location - with a beautiful view over Collioure Harbour and only a 10 minute walk from the old town. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious and clean - with a balcony (and the view). The hotel was an outdoor area which is great for afternoon drinks - with a great view of Collioure. The swimming pool was a bonus.

Review 40:The wifi had problems when we were there so we had a day or so without. Double bed a bit small for my 6''5 hubby. Though both of these are if I'm being picky! 10 euro breaky was pretty good for my husband, but as I'm a coeliac and have to provide my own bread it was maybe a little pricey- but very standard pricing compared to most European breakies we've had

Review 41:Nice modern rooms in a perfect location! Nice easy walk to town.

Review 42:Nothing to complain about

Review 43:The welcome and staff were excellent and very helpful with parking. We has a relaxing stay and found it convenient for the resort of Colliourre. The sun terrace was convenient and caught the morning sun and the swimming pool adjacent looked very welcoming...

Review 44:We loved the location just a few minutes walk to Collioure centre, the room size, the very comfortable beds, our balcony with views over the bay, the free parking and the friendly staff - we will definitely return!

Review 45:Generally needed updating bathroom poor.

Review 46:View from room overlooking bay and collioure- amazing. Free car parking. Short walk into collioure very pleasant.

Review 47:Older Mattress Small breakfast (no eggs)

Review 48:Very good location Friendly staff Splendid view Spacious quality room Walking trail/hike to castle starts at the door step. Very decent price :)

Review 49:The bathroom was rather 'tired', really needed updating; no mixer tap on shower made it difficult to get water temperature right. Rooms are expensive compared with other better hotels we've recently stayed in.

Review 50:View from the room. Staff very friendly & helpful. Easy access to the town. Good restaurants nearby.

Review 51:Double bed. Would book singles next time.

Review 52:The location and views were great. Reception staff were very helpful and it was really good having our rental car near our room. Staff suggested a restaurant 'Le Jardin de Collioure' for dinner and the meal was outstanding. Easy walk into town. Will stay here again.

Review 53:Run-down state of hotel and rooms, especially when compared to other hotels we have stayed in in that price range. No safe, fridge or hair dryer in rooms. WiFi came and went and signal variable. Bathroom plumbing was interesting. Disappointing for the price.

Review 54:The position on the bay and the views from the window of our bedroom. Bed was very comfortable. Plenty of hot water. The girls on Reception were welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts.

Review 55:We received a very nice welcome from the girl at reception and she gave us very good recommendations for restaurants. The hotel is in a beautiful setting with wonderful views over the port of Collioure. Lovely walk into the town. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Review 56:Nothing really - it's excellent value for money.

Review 57:. The location - absolutely fabulous overlooking the sea and Collioure harbour . .the very clean light and bright room with comfortable bed with crisp white cotton sheets .the lovely Shona- so friendly - wish we'd had more time to talk with her. . It's an easy walk into the town and harbour. -- along the sea wall if you like.

Review 58:Breakfast, it is best described as average when compared to other similar accommodation in France.

Review 59:Location, facilities, staff, parking, view from the room.

Review 60:Bathroom

Review 61:This is a 2 star hotel with 5 star views. Collioure was a highlight of our 2 week European trip. The town is fantastic, I'm sad we didn't stay longer. The hotel was in a great location. Staff was wonderful. I've never stayed in a 2 star hotel in America, but this would certainly be more like a 3 1/2 star back home. Would be better if the bathroom was slightly updated, but not really a huge deal for me since we were only there 1 day. You must do the "hike" up to the windmill and the castle for the best views. The trail head is directly behind the hotel!!

Review 62:WiFi only available at reception with insufficient signal strength elsewhere. The cost is relatively expensive, parking can be difficult, few instructions re breakfast such as milk/juice/yoghurt etc is self serve but is not easily found (in the fridge but behind the desk)

Review 63:Location is terrific, breakfast on the terrace is a great location

Review 64:Nothing really, everything was just perfect, we enjoyed our stay very much and we will surely come again soon!

Review 65:We stayed in Collioure many times before but it was our first time in Le Bon Port. We have been so pleased with our stay! The people at the Reception were really nice and helpful. The breakfast location was really beautiful, quiet and sunny terrace with a view of old Collioure, good food and delicious fruits! Lovely bread and croissants, lots of meat and cheese and jam and even my favorite natural yogurt! The staff were always smiling, very polite and always helpful, I enjoyed exchanging with them! On the last day of our stay, we were even allowed to leave our car parked in their parking until four o'clock in the afternoon, we really appreciated that, since it is so difficult to park a car in Collioure! Our room was really nice, with a small terrace and very quiet at night, we slept very well, even me with my bad back and neck problems (their pillows were just perfect). The location is also perfect, very near the center of Collioure with a path along the sea, and also very easy to go walking in the hills from the hotel, just to go up the hill behind the hotel! So we recommend Le Bon Port and we thank the staff for their welcoming attitude, we felt almost at home!

Review 66:Super views over the bay from the beds, could have laid and watched the boats in and out of the harbour all day. Good breakfast again with lovely views. Room and bathroom could do with a makeover but from the brochure it looks as though it is happening in some rooms. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 67:Internet poor

Review 68:The township and the proximity to it the breakfast was fantastic. The pool was beautifull. Shoena the owner was very helpfull and made our stay enjoyable

Review 69:No bar or restaurant - I should have checked - so take care. However close to others in town. Limited hours for use of swimming pool. Why - not overlooking residential area?

Review 70:The location of this hotel could not be bettered. Fantastic view from bedroom window and from breakfast terrace. Close to centre but not too busy

Review 71:One criticism - no cafe/bar on site so you couldn't spend the day at the pool as there were no snacks. And no coffee to take at night after dinner at a local restaurant. It's basically an amazing B&B rather than a hotel. And as such, it's expensive.

Review 72:The location and the views were stunning. The rooms were chic and spotlessly clean. It's good to have a swimming pool and you couldn't have more helpful and friendly staff!

Review 73:Perhaps the breakfast. I felt that it was a little expensive for the quality.I asked for freshly squeezed orange juice and they had no machine. Also a bowl of fresh fruit salad would have been a nice touch.

Review 74:The room was very comfortable and clean. The views were stunning and the staff professional, helpful and knowledgeable. The air conditioning was a welcome extra as there were mosquitoes about! It was well placed for restaurants too.

Review 75:Breakfast could be improved

Review 76:We liked the location, comfortable hotel with space to relax and enjoy the views. Lovely to enjoy breakfast overlooking the bay.

Review 77:Lack of facilities in bedroom eg safe, mini-fridge, easy chair and window from which to see the view. It was a good place to sleep but not to relax.

Review 78:Excellent position with wonderful walks into town and into the hills. Good little pool with sunbeds.

Review 79:Struggling for 'didn't likes' - breakfast a bit expensive, maybe?

Review 80:View, location, comfort, friendliness, service, amenities: overall, exceeded expectations

Review 81:Slight smell of damp/drains in bathroom on ground floor. Resolved this by keeping plugs in sink/bath.

Review 82:Location beautiful. Value for money when travelling with two children in a four person room.

Review 83:We arrived at Le Bon Port after a hectic trip across France and it was perfect. It is a relaxing spot with a beautiful view .The staff were helpful and knowledgable. All their suggestions made our stay easy and memorable.

Review 84:Don't expect too much, some things need renewal, but for a weekend in Collioure it's perfect!

Review 85:Perfect location, ok breakfast, nice pool. Cheap!

Review 86:Obviously it is graded 2 star for a reason-bit dated in parts-but location compensates-15 minute walk from station with wheeled luggage

Review 101:Atmosphere, proximity to centre, gardens, pool, staff friendliness

Review 102:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. They gave us great recommendations for restaurants and things to do in town. There is parking onsite.

Review 103:A bit pricey for a 2 star hotel

Review 104:Great view from our room.

Review 105:location is excellent although the walk into town (5 mins) on a hill may not suite those with restricted ability to walk

Review 106:Mosquitoes.Very basic room. No toiletries or hair dryer. Broken wardrobe door.

Review 107:Great location. Great views. Parking.

Review 108:The sour faced, job.s worth french breakfast staff.
