Reviews for Le Florence

Review 1:All a bit tired! Carpet with dirty track mark wasn't great. Breakfast was a bit basic.

Review 2:Location good near centre of town but took a little while to find - handy sign saved us! Good basic room.

Review 3:Very convenient for overnight stop when travelling through France. helpful staff and excellent breakfast which now includes hot items (bacon and eggs etc.)

Review 4:Love the location of this hotel and the friendliness of the staff. It is excellent value for money and is superior to other hotels in Saint Quentin that have a higher star rating. It is close to all the town's amenities and yet is quite quiet.

Review 5:The only thing I can think of to criticise was the coffee at breakfast. It is available in a portable container and by the time I got to it, it was luke warm. It was refreshed but only after I had finished. I'm sure if I had asked it would have been refreshed sooner.

Review 6:Pleasant staff, clean rooms with decent facilities. Off street parking for plenty which is important as we were travelling with motorcycles. Short stroll to the main centre for bars and restaurants. Breakfast was good with freshly baked pastries. You're even able to have a beer at the hotel which was just the job after a long ride from Scotland.

Review 7:Cannot think of anything we did not like.

Review 8:The hotel was easy to find and we received a friendly welcome. It is good to find secure free hotel parking in a town centre.

Review 9:The room provided was small .located in a passageway and had no air conditioning. In the prevailing hot weather it was uncomfortably stuffy, resulting in a very poor nights rest. The breakfast was bearable - coffee was only lukewarm.

Review 10:Excellent location - handy distance from the Chunnel amd easy access to the town centre with plenty of shops and resteraunts, cafes etc..

Review 11:The hotel has changed its policy over local restaurants that it recommends. This led to a mistake on the bill and no way of checking our spend at the restaurant.

Review 12:Stayed here before and like the hotel. very central, good breakfast, staff welcoming, clean and comfortable.

Review 13:No lift (and a room on the top floor), the car park was tricky to navigate to the overflow due to parked cars (and someone even parked over the way to the overflow which blocked everyone in)

Review 14:The room was ideal, breakfast was available for a wide time range, the staff were lovely

Review 15:We were seriously delayed at the Eurotunnel, so after phoning to inform the hotel it would be the early hours of the morning before we arrived I was given clear instructions what to do - they texted me the door code & on arrival we used the internal phone to alert them & someone immediately appeared & cheerfully greeted us. A comfortable night's sleep with a nice fresh breakfast, private parking & good value for money.

Review 16:The room smelled a little fusty but opening the windows to let in some air helped. As we were ground floor, facing into the car park, we felt unable to sleep with windows open though, so were also hot.

Review 17:A nice central location to Saint Quentin

Review 18:Stairs are quite steep so less able should note this. Finding parking area was a bit of a round about journey but car park good once there..

Review 19:Rooms clean and with ample space. Staff very welcoming and great location.

Review 20:Listing said car booking not necessary, but upon late arrival, staff said I needed to book, and took a lot or persuading to get the car in.

Review 21:Good location, on route south.

Review 22:Generally very dated room and surroundings. Uncomfortable bed and very low pillows! Could have been cleaner! No hair dryer in room but available at reception. Hot room.

Review 23:Perfect for a one night stop over on a long trip from the uk to Italy. Just about 2 hours from Calais and just off the motorway. Nice enough centre of town with a choice of restaurants and bars. Enormous shower! Private secure parking. Breakfast available from 4am till midday!!!! Very friendly staff.

Review 24:The parking space is limited, we were lucky to get the last space. Also you have to be good at maneuvering to get in and out. The sign on the hotel indicates a turn against a no entry. You have to take the third on the left after the hotel!

Review 25:The room and en-suite was a good size and well fitted out. The breakfast was excellent.

Review 26:Location is very good, close to town square and easy access from motorway. Children loved the huge room with 3 double beds. Staff were very kind and helpful.

Review 27:There wasn't room for us on the car park , however we managed to park cheaply on the road nearby so no great problem.

Review 28:Great location, secure bike storage area, super breakfast(even providing a gluten free option for one member of our group without notice).Very helpful English speaking staff.

Review 29:The cost of the breakfast, which was 11 euros.

Review 30:Almost everything. Le Florence is situated just off the city centre, and has a courtyard with the rooms along one side, making it easy to park the car close to the accommodation. The rooms were very well-appointed and comfortable. We did not eat here, but when we asked for some fresh milk for our tea this was quickly supplied. Everything about this hotel, including the very competetive price, made it our favourite of our trip in Belgium and France, and we would certainly stay here agian if in the area

Review 31:Car Park turns hotel into a motel, fortunately no one seemed to leave early. The car park is ridiculously tight - if you don't like manouvering into parking places you will hate this place. The two halves are separated by a tunnel and there are not enough spaces! Hard to find hotel and roads away are not clear for directions. Hermetically sealed rooms back onto car park if you want to open windows...mmmm? Breakfast was a disorganised shambles - hard to know what was available as there were a lot of spaces and any staff were running up and down inefficiently with many tables full of debris from previous breakfasts. What we had was good, so maybe this was unusual?

Review 32:Central location - short walk to restaurants and charming town centre. Very good Italian restaurant next door but note previous comments.

Review 33:Amazing customer service, helpful and friendly staff, spacious room and bathroom all spotlessly clean and a well decorated classic building. Fantastic breakfast. Near to the town centre which is full of wonderful restored old buildings and an amazing square and Town Hall. The entire square on our visit had been made into a huge sandy beach where families were enjoying themselves and apparently happens every year and goes on into August. Everything was thought of and we didn't have to ask for anything, all the information regarding things such as meal times, Wifi connection, TV operation etc was in the room. Well worth a visit and only a short journey from the main route to Calais. Highly recommended!!

Review 34:The location suited us perfectly. Ideal for visiting the nearby war memorials and for an evening stroll through the streets of St Quentin to unwind after a busy day sightseeing.

Review 35:Very comfortable room with lovely modern bathroom; lovely traditional style of breakfast room (with no music!!!). Staff were very helpful. Would definitely book again if visiting the area.

Review 36:INTERNET CONNECTED BUT WE COULD NOT SEND E MAILS ONLY RECEIVE THEM. HAVING THREE FLIGHTS OF STAIRS TO CLIMB.

Review 37:SECURE PARKING LOCATION IN TE CITY CENTRE

Review 38:No air conditioning during heat wave made this unbearable. Fans didn't help, windows open up to walled areas so no circulation. Owner needs to add air - this is 2015 after all.

Review 39:Room very nice, have to walk a flight of stairs to access. Difficult for anyone with disability or arthritis.

Review 40:Large room with 2 double beds, and a large ensuite shower room. Beds lovely and comfortable. In a great location very close to the central square. A bargain price too. Far better than more expensive budget chains.

Review 41:Nothing to not like

Review 42:The room was very comfortable, the breakfast was very good with lots of choice and it was located a very short walk from the town centre. Also the staff were really helpful and informative

Review 43:Two bedside tables would have been good.

Review 44:This was our 4th stay at Le Florence & we Will stay There again. It Is vers good value for money & also very conveniently situated for the highway. Breakfast Is excellent

Review 45:My room was on the top floor and it was two trips carrying all my biker stuff up and down. I met some chaps who had a courtyard room and they were over the moon.

Review 46:Loved the location. Just off the square. Good gated parking. All the staff I met in the morning were very nice and the the price was reasonable.

Review 47:There was nothing we disliked about this hotel. Our only problem was that we had had directions through Google and unfortunately they were not quite correct so it took us quite a while to find the hotel. We did eventually telephone the hotel and were given very good directions.

Review 48:The room was very clean and well furnished and the ensuite was again very clean and well fitted out. The towels were of good quality. We requested 2 extra pillows and they were in situ when we arrived. The breakfast was of course continental but the breafast area was well staffed and we enjoyed the breakfast. For the evening meal we left the hotel car park and turned left to a square not 5 minutes walk away and had an evening meal there, it was 10.00pm but no problem with being served.

Review 49:Location: 300 metres to the centre of town. Parking: ample but arrived too late; however lots of free street parking 1900-0830. Quiet++ I had a single room overlooking the street but very peaceful night. Readily accessible (6m from Jnct 10 of the A26), 2h from EuroTunnel.

Review 50:Car park was quite small and we had to re arrange the cars to avoid getting blocked in.

Review 51:Room was clean and tidy with everything we need. Nothing fancy, but was cheap and ideal for a stop over.

Review 52:The hotel was good with a car park and in town. The block we stayed in was old and the room was decorated in a modern style with lovely fittings and furnishings. It's use of old features was great!

Review 53:Given a different room to the one I booked. I booked twin beds for my sister and I, but we were given a very small room with a double bed.

Review 54:Location was good. Breakfast was good. Bathroom was excellentAnd everything was very clean

Review 55:Young children need to be careful when walking in the car park as it is littered where dogs have fouled the pavement and it hasn't been removed. Mostly immediately outside ground floor room doors!!

Review 56:Staff very friendly. Location for going to town is great. Overall good value for money

Review 57:Not a negative against the hotel but we struggled to find somewhere to eat in the evening.

Review 58:We only booked this hotel because it could sleep the 5 of us in 1 room and the low price so we really didn't have high expectations. However we were very pleasantly surprised. It was a beautiful building, clean, well maintained and more than we were really expecting.

Review 59:Great location with good choice of rooms and good courtyard parking. Short walk to the town centre shops and restaurants. Character stop-over or base for the area.

Review 60:Rooms are a bit austere. A few more pieces of furniture and pictures would enhance them immensely.

Review 61:Comfortable bed in good size room. Excellent en-suite Good breakfast at very reasonable price. Secure parking. 5 min walk to centre of St Quentain.

Review 62:We were travelling down to the alpes and found the hotel an ideal place to break our journey. Close to city centre with restaurants nearby. Lovely staff, some could not speak good English but understood enough to get by. Great breakfast buffet served from 4am so could get an early start.

Review 63:No lift to the 2nd floor and coffee was from a flask in the breakfast room... Not a lot to complain about really.

Review 64:Clean room with sparkly clean bathroom with large shower. Very quiet although hotel was full. Breakfast good value as a serve yourself buffet and served up to noon ! Hotel very near the centre. Parking free , fantastic.

Review 65:This time we were a bit later so parking was a bit restricted. We managed to park over night but it was difficult to get out in the morning .The beds would benefit from a headboard.

Review 66:We have been to this hotel five times now on our journey back to the UK after our ski trips. It is very conveniently located , the staff are friendly and willing to help with any any changes or other needs. The rooms are clean and just what are required for a stopover.

Review 67:Only four towels for five people, only small gripe we had but would still definitely return.

Review 68:Excellent value for family of five with breakfast under €100 ! Friendly and attentive staff, nice breakfast, central location all making it excellent value for money.

Review 69:Only down was directions to the hotel (no fault of the hotel its-self) but the street signs are non excistent and with out a sat nav its hard to find!!

Review 70:I traveled alone with 4 young children and its the only hotel that i have come across that can accommodate all of us in one room and there was still plenty of room to move about! Great breakfast plenty for every one and more!! Would highly recommend to familys with more then 1 or 2 children traveling to and from the uk!!

Review 71:Nothing.

Review 72:Staff were very helpful. We traveled with a dog so were given very spacious (suitable for disabled) ground floor room giving out onto private car parking. Very convenient for centre. Buffet breakfast was extra but reasonable and considering we ate at 4:30 am for an early start, very good value indeed. Also, private car park locked at night so very secure.

Review 73:Nothing

Review 74:Location was excellent and the staff and manager very personable. Would definitely stay again and was a great stop en-route to the Alps. Self-service breakfast was very good too.

Review 75:Comfortable room. Very close to main square & restaurants yet a quiet location. Private parking. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Good value for money.

Review 76:Very steep stairs to third floor with no lift. A blessing we had only a small overnight bag.

Review 77:Good central location close to A26 autoroute. Centre commercial nearby and only few minutes walk to choice of eating places. Excellent breakfast. Would use hotel as stopover again.

Review 78:Bedrooms a little smokey but nothing too unbearable.

Review 79:This is a budget hotel and we didn't expect 5* but were very pleased with the stay. Very clean, comfortable beds, attentive staff, great breakfast, good location in pleasant town.

Review 80:Must make point of ensuring non smoking room. The fact the windiw was open airing our room, spoke volumes-not too bad though.

Review 81:We liked that it is not on top of Calais but at 146 miles, is just enough of a drive to ensure you cut down the next day's travel. For less than a budget chain we had a very nice breakfast (which incredibly they serve from 4am!)and nice room. Secure parking and central. The usual chain restaurants are as you enter St. QUENTIN so a meal in Buffalo Grill then 5 mins and at the hotel. Just the recipe for a stop over. Will definitely book for our Xmas journey.

Review 82:Three flights of stairs which were a bit steep.

Review 83:Probably the best shower we have ever used in a hotel. Room 303 was very small but still comfortable Breakfast very good with lots of choice. Town was very close with lots of restaurants. Lovely atmosphere in the main square where there was a theatre.

Review 84:Locating. Perhaps better directions on your website would be beneficial

Review 85:Once found (one way streets) the hotel is in a great position for the lovely city centre. Parking is tight, but adequate. Staff very helpful, especially as we left important documents, which they quickly reported.

Review 86:Welcome tray was a bit sparse. No milk (which may have been an oversight) and extra tea/coffee is charged for. Not sure the car park is big enough to guarantee parking - we had a space but it was pretty full.

Review 87:Close to the main square for restaurants and bars. Spacious and quiet room, overlooking the courtyard. Good value breakfast. Secure parking.

Review 88:Door to bedrooms area unlocked while main gates were open to side road. Security issue?

Review 89:Size of bedroom, quietness, secure parking, and helpfulness of staff.

Review 90:Negotiating the one way system to get to the car park was tricky. Some of the doors and stairs were awkward to negotiate.

Review 91:The quality for price was excellent. We had a feast of a buffet breakfast. Evening and morning staff were helpful and friendly.

Review 92:My room was a bit cramped but others in our party had no complaints - staircase in older part of hotel may be a bit daunting to elderly or infirm guests

Review 93:Nice hotel in a central location - friendly and helpful staff - good value buffet breakfast

Review 94:they put us in a 3rd floor room with a non-lockable window that opened fully, beside a bed with young kids.... I had to sleep blocking the window incase kids woke and wanted to explore. I assumed all the 3 bed rooms are on top floor..

Review 95:Location Very friendly english speaking receptionist Stairs - for those that moan about climbing stairs.. take a smaller night bag.. yes there are stairs but this is a central location in the city where space is minimal

Review 96:Parking was difficult,to be fair was Friday night, and workmen were on site .everything else was great

Review 97:Easy access to town.friendly staff,large clean room.great bathroom.comfortable beds and tea/coffee/kettle in room.excellent value.@

Review 98:The other members of staff in the morning were not so welcoming, and made us feel we should rush our breakfast.

Review 99:The first member of staff who greeted us was delightful and very helpful. The room was large and quiet, and good value for money.

Review 100:The main reasons we stay here are the hotel's location en route from the south to the tunnel, and the secure parking. The staff are friendly and breakfast good. Upgrading works continue to be in progress, and our room had a large, very comfortable bed.

Review 101:There was no warm, welcoming feeling - from the staff or from the rooms! Nothing to complain about really .... it just didn't feel cosy. We were all glad that it was just a one night stopover.

Review 102:Very good breakfast. Excellent location. Easy to find with free secure parking. Well-priced.

Review 103:Our room position. It overlooked the passage-way to the hotel's back door and one heard people coming & going late at night and early in the morning.(Our friends had a fantastic upstairs room in the annexe though, so I guess we were just unlucky).

Review 104:On-site parking, friendly helpful staff, a room with a bath, an excellent breakfast & a fantastic location.

Review 105:Family room was very small Towels were discoloured and looked dirty Room was hot and as we were on the ground floor we didn't want to sleep with the window open - no air con There was hair in the bathroom sink unit - not cleaned

Review 106:Central location Good breakfast

Review 107:Stairs to room were a little difficult for 1 of party but rooms are available on ground floor on request.

Review 108:Location was ideal for a stop on way to south of France. Perfect position in town centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Offered breakfast from 4.30 am until 12 noon. Comfy beds, adequate facitities for stop over.

Review 109:Cant think of anything to fault.

Review 110:The location was good putting us in the heart of St Quentin and the lovely chimes of the town hall every 15 mins. The sandy plaque on the square made a great start to our trip. It was magical. I would recommend to every one. Secure parking english speaking helpfull staff and a lovely St. Quentin cant waite to visit again.

Review 111:no mattress covers.

Review 112:new bathroom with good shower comfortable bed spotlessly clean quiet well situated in charming village with lots of restaurants nearby. awesomely fast wifi - 80mbps! family room sleeping 5

Review 113:Nothing given that the building work was necessary for improvement to be made.

Review 114:The sleeping acc. Was in a newly built area and of a high standard. It was clean and the bed was one of the most comfortable we have encountered. Parking was easy to access after going around a one way system and very secure. The staff all spoke good English and could not have been more helpful.

Review 115:Wifi was slow. Good 3G coverage though.

Review 116:Easy to find and the staff were really helpful as we arrived in the early hours of the morning. Clean and comfortable rooms. Lovely Italian restaurant next door. Breakfast is available from 4-12am. A perfect stopover and we'll definitely stay again.

Review 117:Room too hot, no air conditioning. Although they advertise car park it is very small and spaces are tight.

Review 118:Town centre location close to restaurants and bars. Ideal for stopover, driving further into France

Review 119:There were lot of cars in the parking lot but not a big deal. Rooms were a bit hot in the night.

Review 120:Excellent location as it is in the middle of town center. Nice renovated rooms and very clean.

Review 121:Room for six adults.only two cups for coffe, no milk.kettle could only be boiled by putting it on the floor, rather dangerous for a family room. Staff did thier job but only just.when we asked for another cup for coffee I felt she was put out at having to get another cup.the hotel is old and smells rather musty.

Review 122:Very convenient location for traveling to and from the calaise ferry

Review 123:Wifi connection could be better.

Review 124:Great hotel, good location and close to restaurants. Friendly staff and a very spacious family room for 6 persons. Very recommended

Review 125:coffee at breakfast wasn't quite jot enough!

Review 126:This is an individual, interesting town centre hotel which does a good job without being in any way pretentious. St Quentin is a town worth a detour.

Review 127:The room was small. The traffic on the main road busy.

Review 128:The friendly welcoming staff; always polite. The hotel is truly in the Centre of town. The room was cosy and clean. Good range of TV stations.

Review 129:Family room off the couryard was quite cramped. wifi did not work but will stay again.

Review 130:A good budget priced hotel. second stay here with the family in a fanily room. First one in the main hotel was very large.

Review 131:Although the exterior looked unpromising the staff were most helpful and the room was comfortable, well-equipped with lovely en-suite bathroom. The breakfast buffet was well stocked and service good. We were fortunate with parking on-site but could have been tricky. Well positioned for visit to brasserie in town centre.

Review 132:Second floor room on very steep and winding stairs - it seemed to be an accident waiting to happen. Free Wi-Fi worked well enough when you finally managed to enter the security code which is about 30 random characters long and very easy to get wrong.

Review 133:Hotel has secured parking, and breakfast was available from 4am incredibly. Room was nice with a large bathroom and really good shower

Review 134:Sometimes the enclosed parking next to the rooms is already full if you arrive late but staff are very helpful to ask others to move cars if you can squeeze in or open gates to park just outside.

Review 135:Second year we have used Le Florence as a stopover on our way south and back up on the return journey. Clean, convenient, very pleasant staff and a pretty little town to wander around. We will return!!
