Reviews for Chambres d'Hôtes Villa Bellevue

Review 1:Strange "ensuite" facilities with the toilet merely screened off from the room by a slatted screen - OK if you're the sole occupant of the room, as I was, but not ideal NO MATTER how well you know your travelling companion!!

Review 2:Short walk into Albi. Possibility of garage parking (at extra cost) instead of on-road parking. Nice large room

Review 3:There is no on site parking even though it as advertised as being available, we had to drop our bags & drive around till we found a park on the street.

Review 4:Dominque was very entertaining & helpful & made us feel very wellcome.

Review 5:Parking was very difficult, nothing on-site, & we had to drive around the streets to find a park.

Review 6:Our host Dominic went out of his way to make us feel at home. He was very helpful & welcoming.

Review 7:Not a bad experience but my room had the ensuite actually in the room which was fine for me as a single occupier, but couples or two sharing should know about this before they book. Needs to be on the website. Difficult parking in the area.

Review 8:Friendliness, cleanliness. Nicely decorated. Eating simple, but quality breakfast in the garden. Would recommend it.

Review 9:Smell of his cigars wafting up the stairs

Review 10:Friendly, helpful patron who gave us a great restaurant recommendation. Lovely homemade fig jam for breakfast too!

Review 11:Room was on 2nd floor and the lights went out before we got downstairs. Breakfast choice a little on the small side but lovely bread and coffee. No window in the room (skylight)

Review 12:The owner is a real character - very knowledgeable and spoke good English. Handy location. very reasonable cost.

Review 13:A bit tricky to find (at first) then quite obvious on foot. No problems.

Review 14:Large, very clean room ('Toulouse Lautrec'); excellent bathroom facitlities; brilliant access on foot to the centre of Albi; entertaining and amusing host with a wide range of views from contemporary politics to Cathar history. Albi is a beautiful city and this is an excellent location.

Review 15:Parking information was misleading. Was not happy leaving my car parked on the street. Information on web site seemed to imply that there was secure parking.

Review 16:We would have preferred it if the toilet were in a separate room.

Review 17:We liked that the guesthouse was within easy walking distance of the centre of Albi and it was nice to meet another Monty Python fan. There was a friendly cat.

Review 18:My wife loved the owner but I thought he was a bit much, tried too hard to be funny. But that was probably just me.

Review 19:The room was very comfortable and the shower excellent.

Review 20:The host Dominique never stopped talking!

Review 21:The host Dominique was a great source of information. He also very kindly took us, with our luggage, to the station on our departure..

Review 22:Extremely difficult to locate

Review 23:Dominic was fantastic. Fun and quirky. Nothing was too much trouble. Recommended excellent restaurant. Home made fig jam a treat.

Review 24:Toilet in the room with only a free-standing screen to separate it from the bed.

Review 25:Very chatty, knowledgable and friendly host.

Review 26:-breakfast can be improved

Review 27:+lovely host with a great sense of humor +cozy atmosphere +cute intimate garden +comfortable rooms with personality

Review 28:owner was quite a character and made us very welcome

Review 29:néant

Review 30:L'accueil de notre hôte et sa gentillesse

Review 31:Wonderful typical French house with garden! In the morning, Breakfast in the fresh air, coffee, yogurt, croissants. Very charming and attentive host. In the room there is air conditioning, TV, tea, coffee, good WiFi, no problems with water!

Review 32:We arrived at 18.20 and got no answer to ringing the door bell, gate was locked and no answer when telephoned! We got a French lady to try the house for us...no reply. We were stuck on a busy road parked on the pavement...in the end we decided to drive back to our base in Mirepoix.....evening completely ruined. It looked rather run down and had no parking accessible and photos on website we're misleading!very disappointed!

Review 33:Strong smell of cold cigar fume in the whole building Offset by some spices in the room, don't know what's worse Definitely a no got

Review 34:Nice themed rooms 10 min walk from historic city centre

Review 35:Because I like my food, I would want a greater choice at breakfast but I'm sure if I asked for eggs for example, they would have been provided.

Review 36:Dominique was indeed a great host and kept everyone entertained with his knowledge of Albi. Well worth a stay. I was in the largest of his rooms and although the floorboards were very creaky... the bathroom was immaculate.... well worth the price.

Review 37:I really enjoyed the stay. The host, Dominque, is really friendly and makes you feel like at home, having at the same time all the modern facilities. Now I know a lot about Albi, its history and the nice people that live there and I will for sure come back with my family.

Review 38:We were disappointed that the room for the second night was not cleaned and not supplied with fresh towels. The breakfast table was porely set.We think the landlord has something to learn about certain things

Review 39:The room was comfortable we stayed for 2 nights The landlord was friendly

Review 40:Our room was in the converted attic area of the house so it had only a small light window and a velux...virtually no view. The loo behind a latticed screen IN the bedroom? No thank you!! It took us an age to negotiate the one way system to the house.

Review 41:The talkative and interesting host, Dominique, and the good breakfast.

Review 42:My room had only a skylight and no other window.

Review 43:Breakfast was lovely with superb coffee. The place has great character and the owner is very friendly, which made our stay delightful.

Review 44:the owner,Dominique was very friendly and very informative about the local area and history of Albi.the accomodation was excellent. only a 10 minute walk into the old town.i would recommend a stay here

Review 45:The information in Booking com is misleading, the hotel is far away from the city center. It's difficult to find it.No a/c. NO elevator. There is no sound isolation from noisy inner and external environment.

Review 46:Facilities and owner.Very friendly man. Cosy and small pool in backyard. The large bathroom.

Review 47:Very convenient location to walk into the city for sightseeing and restaurants. The host, Dominique, gave us very useful information about things to see locally, and also restaurants worth visiting. free parking available in the streets locally. If arriving by car, make sure you have good directions - the house is not easy to spot as you pass by!!

Review 48:There were mosquitos despite never opening a window, relying on airconditioning alone which made my wife quite unwell. At breakfast, theowner stood over us and pontificated without break for the entire time, making it almost impossible to eat the otherwise satisfactory breakfast. It was in my opinion, very bad manners.

Review 49:Reasonable standard although we paid as much for a stuffy attic as wewould have for a nice room on a lower floor. Owner was welcoming andhelpful with information.

Review 50:We had hot water for the shower at 6 a.m. but not for the bath, which was a shame as we had been looking forward to trying it out - it's huge.

Review 51:Dominic the host was very welcoming and agreed to give us breakfast (very nice) much earlier than he normally does so we could get away to a lunch party a few hours' drive away; the bedroom was nice and big (Toulouse Lautrec room) and the bathroom was absolutely spectacular. We had a lovely dip in the little pool as it was very hot when we were there.

Review 52:More if a house than a hotel, but that's what we liked!!

Review 53:Dominque was a super guy! We had a lot of laughs with his animated history lessons. Like staying in a house but not a hotel, he made sure our every comfort was met. Huge room and bathroom in the Toulouse-lautrec room

Review 54:We really liked our host, Dominque, who ensured our visit to Albi was more than memorable. His hospitality and humour was exceptional.

Review 55:The owner makes this place memorable. He was outstanding!

Review 56:breakfast room and hall and entrance did not give a good impression of cleanliness. However room was good.

Review 57:The room was good

Review 58:owner of B&b very friendly imformative and humourous.
