Offering panoramic views of the Dachstein Glacier, Gasthof Gosausee is directly located on the shore of the Gosau Lake. It provides rooms with a balcony and free Wi-Fi. The on-site restaurant serves Austrian cuisine and fish specialities.

Review 1：very helpful and friendly staffs there. They offered us a very useful tips of the trip and also helped us for transportaion issue. The place is not close to town, but it is just in the Gusan lake and good to explore the lakes and the mountain... worth to stay.

Review 3：HAD a room facing the lake. AMAZING views and steps from the lake and adjoining trails. Very cozy if smallish room with lots of new woodwork. The restaurant has a homey feel to it and the food was also good. But this place is all about the surroundings which are breathtaking. Quiet, but this was October and the weather was poor. Friendly staff.
Review 4：If you want to take bus to go there, pay attention to the timetable. The last bus there is around 6 pm for arrival time.
Review 5：The room is very beautiful, and with a mountain view. I especially like the carpet and wooden floor. The breakfast has many choices. I even had dinner there, the food is nice.
Review 6：Awesome location! right on the lake, the room with the balcony is totally worth it in my opinion. Just looking outside from my balcony was enought to make me happy. The staff is super nice and helpful. Breakfast was a bit bland, thought the food in the restaurant was good. Bathroom was a a bit cramped. All in all, I had a wonderful stay at this hotel.
Review 7：It would make sense to have at least a water boiler and some tea/coffee in the rooms. The 'orange juice' at breakfast is horrible, beware :)
Review 8：Very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect location by the lake. The room was pretty large for a single room, the bed was very comfortable. Incredibly quiet location. Large portions of food! My dog was also very welcome. Fresh and large buffet breakfast.

Review 17：As it is the only hotel overseeing the lake, we can enjoy the quietness of the lake early in the morning before the tourists arrive. We took a walk around the lake late in the afternoon in order to avoid the heat, so it is nice that we can arrive at the hotel without having to drive after the walk.

Review 25：The young host and the team are all very impressive and cute, full ofpassion, we like them; as Chinese guests, we are getting use to have hotwater/hot tea, and the team are so sweet to borrow a water-boiler tous (in the most Austria gasthof/pensions we stayed during this trip,the warter-boiler is difficult to be offered). The dinner offered by thegasthof are also very good, especially for the fish. The breakfast isvery good.

Review 29：Chanced upon this cosy guesthouse while driving up the mountain road past gosau. Decided to have dinner there which was delicious. We were served by David who spoke very good English and was a splendid host. The fact that the guesthouse stood at the front of the lake just caught us and I had to book a night there. So we returned the following day for a night before returning to Vienna. The room was modern and cosy. It is a great starting point for hikers.

Review 71：The smell of the kitchen, cooking and smoke of cigarettes(!) inside the 'gasthaus'. The entire house properly smells to an extent you want to spend the least possible time in the public areas. Why is there no hood/fan in the kitchen? More importantly, why is it allowed to smoke inside the house in the public? Get rid of these issues and I'll rate you a '5' in all measures because barring these the wole experience is fantastic.
Review 72：The location, the view (should you be situated in the 'best' rooms) the peace, the silence, the air you breath are all second to none, and whatever smaller issues you may encounter, that's what matters the most. By all means, I highly recommend.
Review 73：The only down side to the Gasthof: there were too many flies in the restaurant - they were a real pest. We were forever waving them away from our food - they homed in on guests as soon as food was served. A real disappointment.

Review 79：No separated smokers and no smokers areas in restaurant - we were having dinner together with our daughter and people were smoking at next table. Only cash accepted as a payment form.
Review 80：The view from room to lake was astonishing! Silent and peacefull place - the very end of valley/road. Should be convenient for skiing in winter as located just next to chair lift, but was also at very good spot for visiting Hallstadt. Might be challenging to reach if travelling without car. No restaurants near by - good that half board included in price. Food was quite basic, but OK and alternatives for food for kid were offered.
