Reviews for Hostal El Roser

Review 1:The room was very very basic and small. Although the hotel was clean the decor had not been updated since opened 50 years ago and the fittings, pictures and furniture in the room and bathroom especially were tatty and outdated. There were no drawers for clothes to be put in but a large wardrobe. The room we had, had an adjoining wooden door to the next room which would be great of you wanted a family type set up with parents in the double and kids in the adjoining twin but not ideal for a young couple and strangers next door. We had to creep around at night so not to disturb the other room and you could clearly hear everything going on! This room was cheap, and that's what made it acceptable, definitely no luxury here- you get what you pay for- if you want a basic cheap room then this is fine, if you want a bit of luxury and style this isn't where you want!

Review 2:Cleaned daily Lift available Nice breakfast Air conditioning

Review 3:I saw 2 rooms and they were really old fashioned from the 60s and would need a renovation. They were clean though but with this old smell.

Review 4:The location within the old city centre of Palamos. Restaurant inside the hotel.

Review 5:No soap. Require floor coverings in winter. And better bed linen .

Review 6:Central location. Suits my requirements .

Review 7:Church bells rang all night.

Review 8:Very central with easy parking. Good breakfast.

Review 9:Really clean, parking very close, breakfast was fantastic, and the restaurant superb. As an added bonus, they have a lift!

Review 10:location is excellent and ideal for seeing the town.

Review 11:Liked the location in the town centre, near the town beach and the great traditional Catalan food

Review 12:Rooms not entirely soundproof. If sensitive bring earplugs.

Review 13:The best personnel!

Review 14:The travel book said that this hotel was on the beach - it wasn't anywhere near! However, the family owned resturant, with the same name, is beside the sea but it is not on the beach either. The sea side resturant is lovely but the actual hotel lets the side down. It was very basic, a bit poor looking and in need of investment. Also, because the rooms were above a kitchen they smelt of cooking rather more than we would have liked. It was OK for a place to put one's head for a cheap stopover. It seems that the family have invested in the resturant by the sea but neglected the hotel itself.

Review 15:The staff were friendly and the location was OK. It was inexpensive and there was somewhere to park which was gratefully received.

Review 16:Don´t go there if you look for sth luxurious.

Review 17:The hotel is basic but clean, well located (you can go to Empuries andSt Marti the Empuries in 30 minutes) and cheap (we payed 42 euros fordouble room). The staff is very nice and what we really liked - theygive you residence card and with this card you pay only 1 euro fot theparking for the whole day.
