Reviews for Pensió Torrent

Review 1:A very hot room with an inefficient fan. This is the first night i have had trouble sleeping in years die to the heart. Easily fixable with a better fan.

Review 2:Friendly, helpful staff. Great value for $, especially considering the exceedingly pricey area of L'escala

Review 3:We were greeted by a friendly owner and the rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. It is located in the lovely old town of L'Escala. We can recommend this place!

Review 4:Wi-Fi connection failed temporarily and then for good. We could hear the guest in the next room snoring - it wasn't so bad and not a great inconvenience

Review 5:Good value, good location, run by a very nice woman

Review 6:We totally enjoyed our stay at Torrent. The room is very clean, the staff is friendly and helpful. The pension is located really close to the interurban bus stop, the seaside and the tourist centre. It is a family pension, so the staff is very interested in making the stay of every guest pleasant. There was no elevator, but the staff helped us with our luggage. The curtain in the bathroom was a little bit narrow. It´s alright if you are careful. You can ask the concierge (administrator) to keep you meal in the fridge. Recommended.

Review 7:Our only negative was the parking in the area. We were very lucky to acquire a space outside the Pension but didn't move the car for fear of not being able to find another space. This didn't bother us too much as we only stayed four nights and there is plenty to see and do in the area.

Review 8:The owners are friendly and accommodating. The Pensionl was very clean, the towels changed and the room made up daily. The rates for the Pension are very reasonable and offer excellent value for money. You can walk to the town beach in five minutes and are only 20 mins walk from other, larger, beautiful beaches and places of interest in the area. The hotel is located close to shops and eating places. We would definitely return to this Pension

Review 9:The ear defenders at the side of the bed gave a clue!! Just 2 streets away from the main church the bells started at 5 am and chimed every 1/4 hr with extras on the hour.

Review 10:Friendly nature of check in, really laid back. Room well appointed, with balcony, clean and serviceable. Great location near the main beach and walking distance to the Greek/Roman ruins.

Review 11:Wifi was a bit on/off - sometimes we could connect, other times not ... But no problem, we were there to explore not to use the internet!

Review 12:The location was superb, away from the noise, close to everything. Cafes, Bars etc close as were the beaches.

Review 13:The church tower tolls every 15 minutes, luckily earplugs were provided by the staff.

Review 14:Atmosphere is great, a typical pension with very friendly and helpfull staff. The rooms are basic, yet comfortable and very clean. Location is superb.

Review 15:A very old building, it doesn´t smell well in the entrance and in the room itself. The towells were rather grey than white, the bathroom wasn´t clean. It was difficult to sleep at night as it was noisy. No wifi in the room ane even unable to make normal phone calls. Bad value for the money paid

Review 16:The location in L´Escala.

Review 17:No car parking (you can park a bit away from old town, which would be 5-10min away from hotel), no view, no conditioner

Review 18:Simple, yet clean and nice accomodation, TV

Review 19:A really great place run by a very nice family. The location is excellent with just 5 minutes walk to the busstation, beach, restaurants and shops but still quiet.

Review 20:The room is very small and we had requested a cot but for some reason the hotel hadn't got the message (perhaps this is more the fault of booking.com than the hotel. The owner solved the problem by adding a single bed which took up what little space was left but at least we had a good night's rest. There was no air-conditioning, although there was an electric fan which was enough for us and we didn't find the room too hot but I can't help thinking that if the weather had been hotter we may have suffered from overheating. The hotel has no dining room so there's no option for breakfast. The wifi signal was very poor. I was unable to connect at all during our stay

Review 21:The location was perfect. Right in the town centre just a 10 minute walk from the seafront. The beds had new mattresses which were very comfortable. It's great for an overnight or 2-night stay but a bit cramped for any longer. The room was clean and the owner friendly and helpful.

Review 22:cosy and comfy, helpful lady, warm and loads of hot water. Good price

Review 23:A very basic room. Not luxurious but it's got everything you need. Very pleasant staff and great wifi

Review 24:Location close to sea.

Review 27:Nice place for a little family, but a little pricey.

Review 28:Very friendly and helpful

Review 29:The bell in every 15 minutes...but they give earplugs to everybody :)

Review 30:The sea.

Review 31:Excellent value for the money.

Review 32:The room was cleaned daily and was superbly located close to the little beach.

Review 33:WIFI not the best.

Review 34:Great location very close to the beach. Rooms clean and simple but everything you need. Value for money unbeatable.

Review 35:Great place to stay close to the beach

Review 36:Nothing

Review 37:Great location, excellent price, nice room and en suite

Review 38:Nothing.

Review 39:Very good value for money. Near the centre. Balcony.

Review 40:Shower. But I suppose to be expected for the price

Review 41:Basic - but very good value.

Review 42:Parking, poor noise insulation between rooms

Review 43:Location, personnel

Review 44:The rooms are simple, and very clean. The location is great and I would definitely recommend to anyone staying in the old town.

Review 45:Be prepared for bad bus connections! Go to the tourist office for a full timetable!

Review 46:clean, basic, nice rooms. Great staff. close to the beach, very close to the tourist information office

Review 47:the only uncomfortable thing was a bit noisy bell-ringing from the church

Review 48:Great location in the centre, friendly and helpful staff, great value for Money.

Review 49:Those bells in the nearby churches, some of them ringing 4 times perhour entire night.Parking is VERY limited (even off-season), especially if you want to do it legally. No space to hang your wet towels. Walls not very thick.

Review 50:Everything else

Review 51:Rooms poorly soundproofed.

Review 52:The location, in a quiet street, in the centre of the town, close to the old port and all places of interest. The cleanliness and decor of the room and shower. Comfortable bedding. The access to a private balcony. The friendliness of the owners.

Review 53:The unsynchronised church bells throughout the night (but the hotel did provide ear plugs!).

Review 54:The restauranr that was recommended was excellent. Thank you. Helpful staff, clean and comfortable rooms. On-street parking nearby was not a problem.

Review 55:the bells are ringing all the night

Review 56:we had a pleasant stay at the pension. rooms were cleaned every day. bed was really comfortable. the owner was very friendly and helpfully. very quiet

Review 57:Old rooms some renovated, sheets were full of black here and spots but after we told them they changed it immidiatelly! They hardly speak english!

Review 58:Bathroom was new and clean! Room simble! The staff were friendly and considered our wishes! The price suits to the rooms!

Review 59:Very friendly staff, including loaning their iPad so we could face time home! The room was well decorated and came with a balcony which was great for hanging out our washing. There was a garage in which we could store our bikes and they were very accommodating to our early departure time!

Review 60:My wife and I stayed at Pensio Torrent for three nights. The Pensio is run by a mother and son and is exceptionally clean if basic. It is a terrific value for under $40 per night. We stayed in Room 203 on the top floor, with a small balcony overlooking the street. The nights were quiet and peaceful, with any noise (if there in fact was any) sealed off by the well-fitting double doors. The "action", such as it is, in L'Escala is just a couple of blocks away, as is the beach, but for us the real appeal was that you could walk along the Mediterranean to view the Greek and Roman ruins at Empuries, a delightful walk of I would say 20 to 30 minutes depending on your pace.

Review 61:Everything was great. Lighting in the room was very bright, but this is a very minor point!

Review 62:Very comfortable and clean room, decent modern bathroom. Pleasant balcony over a quiet street. Staff very friendly and helpful recommending the best places to eat.

Review 63:We were met by a lovely lady after a long bus journey and were able to check-in already at 10am. Throughout our stay she was very helpful with everything altho our Spanish/Catalan is very basic! Our bedroom was lovely, had a small balcony with a view over the street and church. Waking up to a sound of church bells and cockerel was nice too. Highly recommend!

Review 64:The bathroom in the bedroom I rented was sincerely disgusting. With a lot of pubic hair in the shower. I actually showered in the 'shared' bathroom, as it was much cleaner than the one in my room.

Review 65:The lady that owns the place was extremely nice

Review 66:Parking a bit of a problem but expected it to be as the Pensio was in a very narrow street in the old town

Review 67:Could not fault anything

Review 68:This pension was perfectly located in the old town of L'Escala. The staff were very friendly and helpful, very good value for money.

Review 78:Church clock sounding loud in the night, parking difficult

Review 79:Room was refurbished, better than the rest of the building, location fine, friendly people

Review 80:I guess our check-in time interrupted their lunch, but the manner of the reception was rushed and not particularly friendly.
