Reviews for Hotel Gil De France
Review 1:This was a last minute booking so got a very good deal. The hotel is easy to find, 5 mins walk to the beach and around 20/25 mins walk to the port. Going late November there is very little open in the town so having a restaurant in the hotel is an advantage, although it didn't open on the Friday. The staff and owners were very friendly and helpful. The place was spotless and very well decorated. Very quiet during the night, and the sounds of the aqua aerobics classes throughout the day were entertaining. There's a cute little dog and bird for company too. ;)
Review 2:Far from the city centre (but not so many hotels are in the centre). Parking in city centre is expensive. Room could be cleaner
Review 3:Not too far from the beach. Nice staff.
Review 4:The hotel is a bit shabby and needs updating. Also the pool area was more cramped an the photos seem to show. A pet dog of one of the staff was a nuisance.
Review 5:Location was good.
Review 6:Shocking wifi reception Limited choice breakfast items No boiling water only hot- not good for tea
Review 7:Expecting a seating area- suite? Swimming pool Ample linen inc towels Plenty car parking Excellent bathroom
Review 8:Proprietor has all the charm, and the manners, of a prison guard. Veryunfriendly. Staff did nothing to make stay enjoyable. Worst breakfastbuffet I have seen in 30 years of European travel. As someone who hashimself lived in France, I can say with certainty that the negativeambience of the hotel does not reflect the general excellence of Frenchhoteliers, including the other "independents" who belong tothe contact chain.
Review 9:The beach. Nothing about the hotel except its location.
Review 10:very poor wifi furniture battered bed had a dip in it tv didn't work very well no kettle etc in the room
Review 11:shower - amazing staff - friendly and helpful restaurant - closed early but good value for money

Review 16:Poor WiFi in the room/hotel (due to 'technical problems entire Cap)
Review 17:Recently renovated (july 2014 visit) Location near 'a' beach....Not 'the' beach ;-) Breakfast fine price/quality ratio.
Review 18:The family room is very small and the photo's shown of the swimming pool are very deceptive.
Review 19:Close to the beach.
Review 20:Lack of storage for clothes for 1 week stay. Pool very small.

Review 31:Quiet location, but within walking (4-6 blocks) from the beach, shops, bakeries, restaurants. Nice pool and patio. Comfortable room and bath.

Review 33:The peaceful atmosphère the proximity to the sea the pool
Review 34:Decor a bit gloomy in corridors and bedroom, not very clean in the nooks & crannies
Review 35:Comfortable bed, good on-site parking not charged as an extra, friendly front-desk staff
Review 36:rooms were tired, bathroom outdated, hairdrier on request, not in room, beds uncomfortable, awoke at least 4 times, breakfast late. had to ask for croissants and bread main area of hotel and front door locked until 8.00 am A bit worrying if there was A fire, could not see fire door.
Review 37:one of the few open at this time of year
Review 38:After 20:00 indoor pool was closed, sauna only with pre-order and for additional price. Parking view although low-season and few guests. Better not to eat yogurt at breakfast.
Review 39:Staff were extremely conscientous and the pool was wonderful, just whatwas neded for an out of season break. Very good value for money.Rooms in hotel were being updated with new carpets fitted so ignore any previous comments about state of rooms.
Review 40:Average hotel which is close to a very nice beach. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable but a bit dated/sparse and in need of refurbishment if the hotel wanted to increase the star count. The shower had a decent pressure but there was no wall mount.
Review 41:Only stayed one night but would return. Staff were very nice and the room was fine ( loved the giant bed ) Food was good and the beaches are a five min walk away. Perfect for the price.
Review 42:The room was a bit cramped and in need of decorating, although other rooms were in the process of being decorated.
Review 43:Good food and very friendly staff. The swimming pool was a major plus point.
Review 44:Its a bit far from the beach.
Review 45:The room and bathroom is nice.
Review 46:it was raining and the parking was flooding, the room was old and dirty. The bathroom was dirty. Discusting
Review 47:nothing
