Reviews for Hotel K'Loys

Review 1:Some noise drifted from salon on lower level. This was not a major problem as they close it off well before midnight. Asked people to quieten down which they did immediately.

Review 2:Fantastic belle epoque hotel with beautifully decorated rooms and perfect spot with very pleasant views.

Review 3:disappointing breakfast (plenty of cafes around the harbour that produce better value); intermittent wi-fi

Review 4:comfortable harbour view rooms of good size; free parking; good restaurant; casual friendly embience

Review 5:A little too chintzy for my taste

Review 6:Harbour front location. Large comfortable bedroom and en suite. Nice residence's lounge next to the bar where I could spread out my map and plan the next stage of my cycle ride over a beer.

Review 7:- Check out at 11am, a bit too early - Rooms can be noisy especially with seaside view and in the lower floors - Comfort is average, atmosphere is a bit austere in some rooms - Quite pricey for the size of the rooms

Review 8:- Staff very friendly and helpful - In front of the harbour, cannot be more central - A lot of character: Very old house, interesting lounge area

Review 9:Our room was situated at the back of the hotel, and we did not get any sleep until around 2.30 in the morning, this was due to the noise from a bar at the back As there is no air con you either shut the window (noise slightly dulled) and were extremely hot or open and loud noise!!

Review 10:Extremely friendly & helpful staff, if it was not for the noise it would have been great. Location with excellent public parking just opposite. Would book again but with a different room location.

Review 11:This is not an up to date american style hotel, so bathrooms and other facilities adequate but not in any way luxurious.

Review 12:Good position in centre of nice little town facing the harbour, and well placed to visit both coast and inland sites of North Brittany. Hotel old French style but friendly.

Review 13:Mattress not comfortable. Bar furniture not very inviting, and we would have liked the bar to be operating after dinner. Perhaps this only happens later in the season?

Review 14:Vincent was marvellous, his kindness, co-operation, assistance was much appreciated.

Review 15:Eolia the receptionist made this a great stay. She rang us a couple of days before our stay to let us know that because it was New Year only a handful of restaurants were open for New Years eve dinner and she recommended one or two. She then confirmed our reservation for dinner for New Years Eve, welcomed some unexpected friends into the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble.

Review 16:The cat next door who found it's way into our bedroom at 4 a.m.!

Review 17:We live in Paimpol's English twin town of Romsey & found the hotel a welcoming home from home. The staff were very friendly & helpful, especially Samir in the restaurant, the food delicious & everyone was so good to our petit chien Hilda.

Review 18:We were on a one month trip. So we probably had more luggage than most people. Storage and hanging space were extremely limited. There was no drawer space whatsoever. The view was great, overlooking the harbor, but the room felt cramped.

Review 19:Location and parking situation are excellent. The staff was friendly and most spoke English. A desk clerk, Eolia, was especially helpful with suggestions and directions. The elevator was a definite plus.

Review 20:My husband played at the festival on 7th August the hotel was perfect for us, they even let us have a double room with our son to save us money, we came over from the uk and will bring the entire band and their families next year. ( 16 of us )

Review 21:we booked a room at the back of the hotel, and didnt get any sleep until 3:30 in the morning, because of the noise from the bar at the back, if you do stay here make sure you book a room at the front. In our opinion the rooms at the back of the hotel should be charged out at 40 Euros.

Review 22:The hotel and the decor was lovely, friendly staff

Review 23:Lovely hotel. Very friendly.

Review 24:FRIENDLY HELPFUL STAFF - EXCELLENT LOCATION - GOOD RESTAURANT

Review 25:Location is very good in the middle of Paimpol overlooking the harbour. Great example of a boutique French hotel.

Review 26:position

Review 27:threadbare carpet on stairs and cracked sink in toilet downstairs

Review 28:staff were very helpful and knowledgable.

Review 29:The room

Review 30:Location

Review 31:Friendly, comfortable highly recommended

Review 32:No shower in room, only a bath with mixer taps

Review 33:Friendly staff, good situation, clean comfortable room

Review 34:Excellent restaurant. Clean rooms and helpful staff.

Review 35:Value for money.central location. Warm and friendly welcome. Excellent restaurant just next door chef michelin standard.

Review 36:Everything! Friendly and exceptionally helpful staff. Fantastic accommodation, spotlessly clean. Excellent breakfast and restaurant. Amazing location. Didn't want to leave.

Review 37:we loved the location. The antiques and and old world character of the hotel .Staff were charming and we will definately return in october on our way home to the U.K.Hopefully it will always be our stop on our way down to our house in the south west of France and wewill recommend the hotel to friends and family.

Review 38:Could do with more drawer space in the room.

Review 39:central location, friendly English speaking staff.Good housekeeping. Typical French style decoration-quaint a little dated but in process of being updated.Good value breakfast and service.

Review 40:I had a back room and was disturbed by the noise from the restaurant behind the hotel. I would like to have had some tea/coffee facilities in the room No English TV or film channels

Review 41:Great location right on the harbour. Comfy room and bed Good sized flat screen tv Plenty of good shops, restaurants and Boulangeries within a few minutes walk

Review 42:We can't think of anything we didn't like - it was our second visit and we'll probably stay there again.

Review 43:We liked the decor, the location, the staff, and the price wasn't excessive

Review 44:The hotel is an old house but this does not excuse worn run-down appearance. Conservatory in which we had breakfast is dirty. Service in restaurant is very poor.

Review 45:Staff very helpful. Good harbourside location

Review 46:Wifi was provided in the main "lobby" but was sketchy at best.We had to go two doors down to a cafe which had wifi that we couldconnect to 100% of the time. Another small issue that perhaps could havebeen mitigated had we inquired was that our room got very cold at night& a heater and/or thermostat to regulate a heater was no whereto be found. You are getting the basics at hotel K'Loys (no wifi inroom, no coffee maker or mini refrig; no one always available at frontdesk (they run back & forth between the hotel & restaurant); oldfashioned decor that could definitely use a face-lift... However, thecharm of the area & the friendliness & helpfulness of the staffdefinitely help to distract you from any of these shortcomings.

Review 47:Hotel K'Loys had an excellent location--right on the waterfront andnext to all the restaurants and cafes. Noise was not a problem becausethe weather was cold & the windows were always closed. The staff wasexceptional: they did everything they could to assist you (even if theirEnglish was lacking). The adjoining restaurant served wonderful meals ata moderate price. Another positive feature was the large bathtub in thehotel room. A nice addition after a long day of hiking or biking and aneed to get rid of the chill.

Review 48:There is no car park, have to use town parking, must be difficult in the summer. We were able to park at the Port, right opposite the hotel

Review 49:The Hotel was a delight to stay in. Super bedroom, atractivley decorated, lovely furniture and furnishings. Its an old town house, right on the Port, Bathroom, linen all excellent. and staff charming and helpful

Review 50:We just like the hotel and it's decor, also it's position on the harbor and the friendly staff.

Review 51:although there was an elevator, we still needed to climb stairs to reach our room

Review 52:Good staff; nice, though small rooms; excellent location; cute town

Review 53:Excellent location in the beautiful port of Paimpol, nice staff

Review 54:the room was to small

Review 55:It rained a lot but it was January !
