Reviews for Hotel La Perriere
Review 1:Room was not that comfortable without having any great failings except the lighting was a bit gloomy and the bed had a plasticky undersheet protector.. something you expect on a child's bed.. The WiFi was completely non-operational; something that did not bother the staff one bit. The Channel+ TV channels , promoted on front door but not available. This is my first negative report after many Booking.com visits .
Review 2:Location interesting..very handy for boating facilities/ industry which is what we needed. The street is not in any way touristy but is real and down to earth , with plenty of modest bars and restaurants. Hotel Ocean is about 100 m away- we had a good stay there last year.
Review 3:It was in the grotty part of town. The night security was non existent. Anyone could walk in at night with out there being security of the side door. The receptionist spoke very poor English.
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:The bed was so uncomfortable, there was no air con so we had window open at 4am both my husband and I were chasing mosquitoes around the room - we had at least 8 in there. In the end we closed the window it then became unbearably hot and stuffy - would I stay again - no
Review 6:It was available for the date we wanted. Although the room was small it was adequate for one night
Review 7:The location is close to a working port and looks a little poor.
Review 8:everything else! Excellent restaurant 50 meters away. Very enjoyable bar 50 meters opposite direction. What more could man want?
Review 9:This is a good little hotel, quiet and clean. The breakfast was nice- a varied buffet- and the receptionist was very helpful and friendly. We spoke French to her and she didn't laugh at our mistakes, which was very kind of her!
Review 10:Rooms at the back get afternoon sun and have manufacturing noise from the ship manufacturing. Rooms at the front have morning sun and some road noise. Small rooms are very small. No A/C. Open windows night will attract mosquitoes.
Review 11:In Lorient for the amazing and brilliant Festival Interceltic, we stayed at the Hotel La Perriere (2013 and 2014). The hotel received a much needed make-over to the entrance and breakfast area between our visits. Rooms are of various sizes have good light and opening windows. The main daytime noise in the area is sea gulls. The rooms are cleaned every day and new towels every few days unless you request more often. Beds are comfortable with mattress protector and king-size quilt. Several lighting options (all worked). The largest shower area I have seen in Europe (normally small add-on cubicles), shower head stayed up after being fixed, take care getting out of the shower, no bathroom power socket for shaver, hairdryer supplied, toilet worked, there were no sewer smells (anywhere in Lorient). Best wifi of anywhere we have ever been. The Hotel La Perriere is non-smoking on first and second floors, sadly, smoking is allowed on the third. The staff speak only French with occasional English, be patient. Street parking has always been available. The 20 minute walk into the festival area is a safe, easy walk, well lit and the evidence of dogs is less than in other areas of France. To counter a well-established global opinion, the French are friendly, helpful and courteous if you treat them with respect and make a small effort to speak some French. It helps to say bonjour, bonsoir (in the evening), ca va (how are you and I’m fine), bon appetite, bon (good), tres bon (very good), s’il vois plait (please), merci (thank you), and au revoir.
Review 12:Stayed in one of the bigger rooms but still rather small! Good location to visit the submarine pens/museums less than a mile away.
Review 13:the breakfast is now made up of fresh bread, croissant, fruit , ham and cheese, great location to view the grand parade of the festival

Review 24:For a visit of Lorient too far out from the centre
Review 25:Friendlyness of staff
Review 26:no lift
Review 27:easy to locate
Review 28:noise from the road, no ac (which would have been nice instead of having the windows open)
Review 29:close enough to city
Review 30:It was ideal for me as a single traveler with an interest in the wwiiu-boat pens. The hotel is just about a 10 minute walk from them. Lorientwas a pleasant surprise. It was a beautiful little port city and had aninteresting city core. The local bus stopped near the hotel and for lessthan 2 Euro, you're a few minutes from downtown.
Review 31:Room a bit small but fine.At first glance the area outside the hotel seems a bit run down however this is deceptive. There are upscale shops dotted around and the area grew on me. Overall it is funky and up and coming.
