Reviews for Le Menuire Chalet-Hôtel & Spa
Review 1:The food on the first three nights was simply awful. My 13 year old boy does much better with no formal training....... Things improved marginally from thereon, but it was still well below 4* level. The only dish that caught my attention was the tira-misu 'revisited'. Initially the translation caused us to chuckle somewhat, in the light of the kitchens' earlier disasters, but I was very pleasantly surprised by the dish itself, very tasty and well executed. Pillows on the beds were very uncomfortable.
Review 2:This hotel claims to be ski in and out but it is not the case. The room was small with little light coming in. Les menuires as village is not a nice location, not cosy at all.
Review 3:Good hotel, very friendly staff and nice swimming pool. We could still use the swimming pool and showers after checking out (very welcome after skiing).
Review 4:too far to walk (in ski boots) to lifts - have to wait for the shuttle
Review 5:very friendly reception staff, pool with jacuzzi/massage, sauna, ski shuttle stops right in front of the hotel, generous breakfast buffet, great dinners in the hotel restaurant (EUR 20/30 menus), on-street parking available, wifi works well, room was spacious, balcony with view
Review 6:we stayed in March, and decided not to ski out from the hotel, though it is possible, but to walk to the center of town where all main lifts are located. Hotel owner provided some discount for ski rent, and as a result we enjoyed very much the vacation - it was a very easy walk - appr 4-5 min, and you can get all central lifts and free depo to keep your boots warm and ski storage at the main location. Hotel provides very good sauna and swimming pool after the ski. Dinner deserts are fantastic. Good selection of wine in the wine cart.
Review 7:First of all, the hotel location is just right, a short walk from the center gives peace and nice view. The ski room is convenient and the ski in ski out is just perfect. The owner, Roxane, is a nice and friendly lady who welcomes guests warmly. Breakfast is good. The pool and sauna is really relaxing and great. The bed room, although small, offers all you need.
Review 8:Rooms look like they need renovations: cheap furnishings and very impractical (whose idea was it to cover the heat radiators?). Cleanning staff leaves a lot to be wished for (bathrooms notoriously not cleaned carefully).
Review 9:Pluses: swimming pool and sauna!!! Very good food (dinners). Helpful front desk staff. Very nice owners. Location - a bit on the edge of the town but thanks for the ski bus in front of the hotel!
Review 10:The village les minuires was a bit small.
Review 11:The staff at the reception was very kind and made sure we had a lovely stay that we will not forget! The hotel has a very nice mountain ambient and perfect for skiing. We could ski from the hotel to the slopes and back, relax with excellent wellness and enjoy the dinner. Room was quiete even at the street side.
Review 12:Other reviewers had said you could practically ski to and from the boot room, but we were only there two days so never worked that out. So we waited for the free shuttle bus which goes right past the hotel every 15 mins or so. The town is a bit if a dive.
Review 13:Helpful staff, nice bar area, good spa. I probably wouldn't visit Les Menuires again because I didn't particularly like the town, but I can't fault the hotel nor the skiing.
Review 14:Location - the hotel is not really ski in, ski out, it's some distance from the slopes, and you have to walk with your skis for 5-7 minutes on a steepy pass. The rooms are quite small - not enough room for two people with luggage, no fridge, no teapot.
Review 15:Staff is very friendly, we also enjoyed the pool with a large bubbling area and the sauna. The ski room is quite big, there is enough room in the boxes for 2-3 pairs of skis, and the boot facility wirked well - our ski boots were always warm and dry in the morning. The hotel restaurant provides delicious dinners - definately recommend to take half board, it's really good value for money!
Review 16:Mini gym. Slow service. Lack of fresh salads and vegetables. Not what we class as ski in/out, as advertised on website. Hotel was much smaller than it appears on website.
Review 17:Swimming pool and sauna were lovely. Super clean hotel with daily room service and clean towels. Friendly owners but staff not all singing from the same song sheet.
Review 18:All the staff were helpfull + cheerful especially the owner Roxannne who dispensed her local knowledge and expertise. We had a hire care for our stay but the ski bus stopped outside hotel.Half board stay was good value, food good + plentifull. Sauna + spa area spotless + well stocked with clean bathing towels.
Review 19:The matress was covered with plastic (?) under the sheet, retaining extreme warm, so had to stop heating overnight to be able to sleep.
Review 20:Staff was very friendly, attentive. The food was excellent, did not even thought about getting for diner to another place. Facilities very clean.. Decoration was charming and warm athmosphere. Just a tip: if you find the water in the swimming pool too cold (30 degrees C), go first into the sauna..
Review 21:Heating turned off at night, very long dinners, staff not flexible, poor breakfast
Review 22:Food at dinner, spa
Review 23:The dinner , the food has no taste .
Review 24:Location , facilities , staff .
Review 25:Staff were very friendly.
Review 26:Friendly staff, nice spa.
Review 27:Nothing at all .
Review 28:Overall service was excellent
Review 29:Wifi was a bit slow
Review 30:This hotel is ideally situated in Les Menuires
Review 31:For some reason the spa doesn't have a jacuzzi with hot water as the jacuzzi is part of the pool. We were ohh so waiting to dip our aching body in a nice HOT jacuzzi after a day of skiing.. Maybe its not healthy after skiing but still we were disappointed. The hotel is a few minutes walk to Les Menuire center (restaurants, ski area ect). We didn't mind but may be less comfortable to other people.
Review 32:The staff was very nice & helpful. Good breakfest. Spa includes sauna and is free of charge. Ski bus stops at hotel enterance. Free parking close to the hotel
Review 33:Breakfast was ok, however the dinner needs improvements , osso buco Milanese with gravy instead of tomato sauce??
Review 34:This Hotel Chalet is excellent, facilities like swimming pool and sauna , rooms are nice size and clean. Very close to main center . Owners are very friendly , any issue you can speak to Roxanne . Overall very good Hotel , will definitely go back .
Review 35:An independent hotel in a sea of corporates You could talk to the owners if you had any issues, not that you would. The food was well prepared and presented as a quality restaurant I would definitely go back again if possible
Review 36:Les Menuires itself is a bit characterless, strange indoor shopping/ restaurant complex. Ample free parking right out side the hotel, but undercover parking a good distance away.
Review 37:Great friendly hotel, good facilities for skiers, boot heaters/dryers, ski lockers etc. Bus stop to the slopes right outside the door, buses about every 20 minutes. Skiing late season had to catch the bus, imagine it may be possible to ski from (but not back to) a spot about 50 meters up the road when there is more snow. Food very good and varied menus over the week, but suspect the menu repeats, there for 8 days and Saturday was the same; wine a little pricey but always good.
Review 38:the "spa" is not really spa . and there is no really gym facility . The hotel say its "ski in ski out" but in reality you need to "walk " a little so its not really on the sloop
Review 39:the pool was very nice .clean and nice , Food was god, staff was excellent . friendly .
Review 40:Well located with direct access to ski slopes. Very friendly, homely atmosphere. Nice cuisine, good value for money. Great staff. Sauna and swimming facilities, ski locker room with heated standard for boots.
Review 41:If we were to be really picky, it was just that towards the end of the week the chambermaids were starting their cleaning earlier than usual and on two occassions opened the door to come in without checking if the room was empty.
Review 42:We stayed at Les Menuires as part of our honeymoon and had a fabulous week snowboarding acorss the whole of the Three Valley area. Our room was great, comfortable and spacious, and we enjoyed a balcony with mountain view. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and nothing was too much trouble, especially when accommodating my vegetarian diet. The spa facilities were a real treat at the end of a tough day snowboarding and added a touch of luxury to our honeymoon. We would definitely recommend this hotel (a step up from our usual snow holiday) and the resort was perfect for exploring both the local ski area and the Three Valleys as a whole.
Review 43:Rooms are pretty small and breakfast is modest.
Review 44:The atmosphere of a small chalet (contrary to big crowded hotelsnearby). The personnel is very helpful. Dinner is so good that youdon't want to go out anywhere.
Review 45:Not all the pistes were open yet - Mid December
Review 46:The staff was great - very helpful and knowledgeable and happy to speak English - Breakfast was excellent; the room was clean and quiet - overall a great stay. We would most definitely stay there again; in fact it would be our #1 choice in the area.
Review 47:My family and I had an amazing stay at Les Menuires. The owners and the staff were really friendly and welcoming which made it a lovely place to be for Christmas week. The rooms were pretty, nice and clean with lovely views of the mountains (and they had baths as well as showers, which is a must for me). The swimming pool was great for the children and my husband very much enjoyed the views of the mountains from the Sauna. It took us a while to figure out the ski in, ski out but when we did it was great (although the bus is no real hardship as they are very regular). The resort was great for all levels as I am not a great skier but my husband enjoys the more challenging slopes. (Next year he will get a pass for the three valleys though) We had a wonderful stay and would like to thank Roxanne, Emmanuel and especially Francois for making us feel so welcome. We are already considering staying here again next Christmas.
Review 48:Not much, it was a great stay overall. The distance to the main lifts is about 600 meters, but close enough to walk it in 5 mins.
Review 49:Staff were lovely and very helpful. Having a spa after a day on the slopes was lovely!
Review 50:Rooms were a bit tired compared to the photos but were functional.
Review 51:The bar was lovely. Parking was good. Did not use the spa so couldn't comment and did not take the half board option.
Review 52:Very friendly ski in ski out chalet hotel with lovely family pool, bar and restaurant serving food from the region. 5 minute walking distance to the centre.
Review 53:The food was a bit of a let down, could have been better? And would have been nice if the bar stayed open a bit later
Review 54:The staff were fantastic very helpful. Bedrooms were comfortable We also liked the pool/spa area it great to come back to after a days skiing. You could also ski in and out of the hotel but we took the excellent free shuttle that stopped outside the hotel.
Review 55:Room was little bit small for us with one child and an infant. Balconies needs refurbishing. Breakfast food selection a bit poor and would suggest kids menu for the evening meals as kids dont like all this fancy food (which is very very nice)
Review 56:Excellent service, very friendly staff and owners, dinner food was very good. would choise this hotel again
Review 57:the pool could be a little bit warmer
Review 58:i just came back form my first ski trip. I stayed at les menuire chalet, our stay was simply more than excellent. first of all the location is suberb, just a walking distance from the pistes which is really excellent, second the hotel has the real charm of an alpine chalet with very nice mountain view, third the food was very simple but of real excellent fresh quality, fourth value for the money is really excellent, finally and most important thing about this hotel is the wondreful staff starting from the superb honours and passing by all the exceptionally fiendly and charming staff, really an excellent experience
Review 59:Range on menu in restaurant
Review 60:Spa and pool Location
Review 61:Went half board and the evening meals were outstanding
Review 62:Facilities, location, helpfulness and helpfulness of all staff, ambience of hotel
Review 63:at times lack of seating in the lounge area poor wifi connection
Review 64:the pool the relaxed bar good food friendly staff
Review 65:Very French menu, perhaps a more international menu could be offered.
Review 66:Easy to find, well located, spa
Review 67:There is no kettle, caps, mini bar in the room.
Review 68:Ski-box, Bar-zone, shale style. Spa very good, but the only one sauna should be little bigger.
Review 69:very little
Review 70:spa and restaurant
