Reviews for Hôtel Golf De Saint Junien

Review 1:There was a wedding on the night we stayed so it was noisy. The wifi did not work.

Review 2:Staff were fantastic and very friendly. The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. We will stay again and recommend to others.

Review 3:we enjoyed our stay but found it expensive. 4 of us sharing a room, with breakfast and meal was £245. The meal options were limited . No snacks, full dining experience and whilst a lovely meal, it was more than we needed. We chose it as it was on a golf course and we thought we would be able to get bar snacks. Also no toiletries in room which was unexpected, especially for price

Review 4:very friendly staff. Our room was a deluxe room with enough room to have two camp beds in for kids and really nice

Review 5:The internet connection was very very slow and I needed it to book a ferry.

Review 6:All the staff, without exception were really warm, friendly and extremely helpful. The setting is beautiful. Really enjoyed swimming in the pool and sitting having a drink on the terrace. Evening meal was delicious. Nice big showers.

Review 7:Not a complaining type but I was not happy with this hotel. The room (at least mine#4) was in a bad shape, the plaster at the bottom came off (should be revamped) with no internet access, no cell-phone signal (it is not the hotel`s fault). I checked out the next morning, I booked it for 3 days though. It is not recommended for business traveller with no internet accesss and cell-phone signal.

Review 8:Kind staff.

Review 9:Nothing!

Review 10:I was travelling alone with 4 small children and I was concerned that a golf resort would be too quiet and my children too noisy!! The staff could not have been more accommodating or helpful! They were amazing! The resort was lovely and the food was excellent!

Review 11:We did not take breakfast and we felt is was overpriced for the value it offered.

Review 12:The golf environment is very relaxing. Quiet and beautiful. The room was spacious and had all comfort wanted. We had dinner at the restaurant and this was very good.

Review 13:We stayed here for a day trip to Oradour while on our way to the south of France however as travellers we have a fridge for drinks etc..the cleaners then told all the staff, then didn't like this and was talking about us to each other.I know because I overheard them saying it wasn't right! What a hotel! Definitely telling everybody I know not to go there. o

Review 14:Quiet hotel on golf course, lovely view from very comfortable room overlooking golf course. Meal was good but would have liked some choice. Breakfast excellent.

Review 15:The room smelt damp there were no tea and coffee facilities in the room and the overall standard was poor. The TV wasn't showing the climax of the British open and the club house wasn't very welcoming.

Review 16:We enjoyed the evening meal although we thought it was overpriced.

Review 17:evening meal was very good, nice to look out over the green country side.

Review 18:but the property certainly needs up dating. Rooms stark with out of date televisions. No double beds only singles. Golf course needs TLC.

Review 19:The staff were excellent, efficient and very friendly. the lunch and dinner superb.

Review 20:Room could not be secured from inside. Lock was broken and had been for some time. A security clip had been fitted but had been forced off and not repaired. There were cobwebs on the ceiling.

Review 21:Warm welcome by receptionist. Pleasant bar and restaurant. Good meal, reasonable value. House wine excellent and very good value. Comfortable beds.

Review 22:The Club House (restaurant) had no atmosphere staff member at breakfast didn't speak or explain things pretty basic

Review 23:Lovely house and setting near to where wanted to visit

Review 24:Room cold and heating inadequate. Restaurant very average and overpriced. Charged exorbitant amount for dogs to stay.

Review 25:Easy to find and within easy driving distance from Saint Junien.

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:We were met by a lady called Flo who was wonderful. This is a great off the beaten track hotel with safe parking, a pool nd great good value food and wine. And Flo who helps with everything and is so friendly

Review 28:Rooms in the main building were more modern and were of a far higher standard than those in the detatched building. The bar / restaurant staff were kind and very efficient.

Review 29:Slowness of Wi-FiBreakfast was a little pricey for what it was, but it was nice all the same

Review 30:The service was excellent. Brigitte, the manager, is as mad as a box offrogs & was an absolute delight. Nothing was too much trouble andshe speaks perfect English.Whilst relatively basic, the rooms are clean & functional with lovely views. Free Wi-Fi, although it is VERY slow & we did need it to make contact with vendors whose properties we were in France to view, but we got there with a bit of patience. We were the only four people staying that night & the chef came in just to cook for us. 23.50 Euros for 4 courses (incl cheese) was good value. Fred didn't speak a word of English, so we conversed with my best schoolgirl French (from 30+ years ago) & got along famously. Lovely dinner in candlelit ambience. Even the "Teenmonsters" enjoyed themselves....what more can you ask for. Thank you Brigitte & Fred. We had a lovely time.

Review 31:The food and the lack of any ambience in the food hall cannot be described as a restaurant ok for a golf break with the fellas but not for a couple

Review 32:Clean but very basic

Review 33:The internet is described in their web site as 'Free! Wi-fi is availablein the entire hotel and is free of charge.' This is unfortunately nottrue as we had booked a terrace room which does not receive any wi fisignal and so having un-packed had to re-pack and move to a room in themain building. Here the signal although better was very slow and lastedonly three hours and then it was necessary to start again using anotherinput code and login password. As we were at the hotel not for golf butfor the surroundings and we happened to need to be in touch with theinternet this was rather a disappointment to us.

Review 34:The surroundings and the room were fine as was the food and it wasvery peaceful.

Review 35:The hotel / small villas attached are perfect for a short relaxed golfing trip or general stay. The prices in the bar are very reasonable and the restaurant food was very good.

Review 36:The extras were less good value - 12 euros for breakfast which was fairly basic.

Review 37:The rooms were good value for money. This is a golf hotel and we stayed for the lovely pool and the location which was perfect for our requirements, but we didn't use the golf facilities.

Review 38:We liked more or less everything; nice rooms; excellent friendly and courteous staff; nice pool; lovely location. All round excellent and we don't play golf!! The setting is superb and after three days at Disneyland it was a very pleasant change!

Review 39:We did not think it appropriate for golfing guests to be wearing theirday sports shorts and t shirts that they had had on all day in thedining room in the evening. A rather transient gripe was 7 noisy out ofcontrol children with their young supervisors nowhere to be seen.

Review 40:A nice hotel with above average food. Staff very friendly andEnglish speaking.

Review 41:Nothing !

Review 42:Beautiful pool, friendly helpful staff

Review 43:Convenient for my purpose. Always a good meal in the restaurant at a reasonable price. Very attentive staff.

Review 44:A little bit hard to find.

Review 45:Friendly staff.

Review 46:Very friendly. Spacious room. Clean. Excellent restaurant. Challenging golf course.

Review 47:Production factory close by,and if wind is blowing your way the stench is horrendous.

Review 48:Very quiet and peaceful

Review 49:Breakfast a bit basic and Internet very slow.

Review 50:Friendly staff and nice relaxing atmosphere.

Review 51:WiFi was slow

Review 52:A surprise ,staff excellent ,good golf course to play as visitor relaxing but you must have your own transport

Review 53:great hotel-pool-food
