Reviews for Hotel Arena

Review 1:It is not easy to understand the Menu for the restaurant. Even the receptionist couldn't explain so although we had planned to eat there we had a change of plan and ate out at some of the many little restaurants in Frejus!

Review 2:A lovely comfortable, interesting Hotel. Fantastic location in the old town and nextdoor to the station. As we were travelling around France by train it was a good choice. Nice outside sitting areas and a gated pool. Helpful staff.

Review 3:A fridge and tea/coffee machine in the room would be very handy for longer stays. Breakfast and restaurant expensive. Rooms were a little rudimentary for a four star.

Review 4:Beautiful garden, pool and terrace. Excellent location in the Old Town, just across from the station. Very friendly staff.

Review 5:Dinner with friends in the hotel, we were ten minutes to early for ordering drinks, they did not serve yet, other guests, who appeared later were serverd earlier, we did not get bread and olives, they forgot to bring beer and our ordered bottle of wine.. I gave them € 20.- pourboire but actually not deserved.

Review 6:Comfortable, nice and beautiful ambiance, privacy.

Review 7:The charges for breakfast was expensive at 15 euros each and parking charges of 12 euros per night was excessive. People hogging the pool area and taking up the sun loungers with towels even when not present.

Review 8:Staff were very helpful and polite, the location of the hotel to the old town was great.

Review 9:The menu of the restaurant was presented in a very confusing way. We needed a lot of explanation. They should make it more comprehensive!

Review 10:The garden and The Pool arena was fantastic! It felt like a little oasis. The design of the hotel and its facilities fit perfectly into the warm atmosphere of the French Riviera.

Review 11:Breakfast was equally poor, no bacon only one sausage and very uninspiring scrambled egg, staff showed no interest or inclination to do anything about it. Had to settle for a coffee only.

Review 12:Dinner was excellent.

Review 13:To get car from car park to hotel reception meant a 1500 M drive round a busy one way system. Room a bit pokey

Review 14:Facitilies , pool , small gym, breakfast

Review 15:The poor state of repair of the room The bad access if you have luggage (5 flights of stairs, no lifts) No shower facilities, just a bath Safe batteries dead so could set but not reopen, luckily we did a test run Hotel has no access to its own carpark, weird

Review 16:The restaurant and its staff, they were excellent

Review 17:The rooms were more basic than I expected. The dinner was expensive for what it was.

Review 18:There was an extra room with sofa and TV. The garden was nice for dinner and breakfast.

Review 19:The bar was only open when the restaurant was open - would have been nice to have something to drink in the beautiful garden.

Review 20:Centrally located hotel with friendly and welcoming staff. Private parking available nearby at a reasonable cost. Beautiful garden with swimming pool. We stayed in a four-bed room with a nice and functional bathroom. Restaurant with excellent food, menu worth its price. Great breakfast.

Review 21:Rooms mixed sizes Garden side of pool is actually over main road and railway line - noisy! Not enough sun beds around pool for number of guests. Sofa bed in suite small for 2 adults

Review 22:Good bathrooms. Pretty garden

Review 23:The shower was over the bath with a dirty shower curtain. The room was shabbily decorated, and was dark. The room was on the fourth floor, and it seemed as if there were better rooms on the lower floors as the areas by the lifts on these other floors were better decorated than the one on the fourth floor.

Review 24:The room was large and air-conditioned, which was an oasis in the heat. The beds were reasonably comfortable.

Review 25:staff were very helpful but unobtrusive - perfect!!

Review 26:The waitering staff , arrogant , rude and busy fools!

Review 27:Nice room and quaint pool...

Review 28:The hotel was well-placed in the centre of frejus town. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. Comfortable rooms.

Review 29:Very friendly staff - particularly on reception. No hot water on first day but quickly sorted and two complimentary cocktails given.

Review 30:Bad slow wifi. No refrigerator in room. Expensive parking.

Review 31:Nothing!

Review 32:Hotel is quite chic with excellent facilities from pool to secure car park. The rooms are splendid with all facilities available en suite!

Review 33:Can't complain!

Review 34:The kids loved the pool, the grown ups enjoyed living close to restaurants and the historic city center. Very nice staff!

Review 35:Dinner was of low quality

Review 36:Rooms and swimming pool

Review 37:Location is near the railroad -- noisy at night.

Review 38:Great room and dining on the terrace.

Review 39:Eating lunch in the garden in the balmy weather. You would not believe you were in a town

Review 40:Evening Meals and drinks above expected price.

Review 41:Double Glazing, Quietness, Breakfast, very good service. Room price very reasonable.

Review 42:Breakfast in the garden was spoiled by people smoking.

Review 43:Small and friendly.

Review 44:very comfortable excellent restaurant lovely gardens/pool

Review 45:All OK.

Review 46:Nice friendly Hotel.

Review 47:Beds are very hard!

Review 48:The staff are all very friendly and very helpful.

Review 49:No shower Un friendly staff Small bath No drawers No one behind the bar No water in rooms No fridge

Review 50:Setting very pretty

Review 51:Room was a bit small, but that is to be expected.

Review 52:Clean rooms, convenient location and very friendly staff.

Review 53:Great hotel, very good value in very good location.

Review 54:We had a junior suite on the top floor. The sitting area needed 2 standard lights to improve the lighting to enable you to read in comfort. There was a bath with a hand shower. It needed a proper shower attached to the wall with a glass splash window.

Review 55:The Hotel is central but does not suffer too much noise. The service was excellent and the staff most attentive. The cuisine in the restaurant was very good, so much so that we had dinner there every night of our stay in Frejus.

Review 56:The rooms are TINY!! Two persons can't open the suitcases together. We didn't see the other rooms since we stay only for one night. Don't take the 10m rooms if you are a couple or more.

Review 57:Good location, nice garden and pool. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review 58:Very nice hotel with a beautiful garden. Very good breakfast, helpful staff and excellent facilities. And a small pool between the old palm trees. We plan to be back next summer.

Review 59:Pricey breakfast 15 EUR/prs. The two rooms we had booked at the same time were far from each other because different room types are located in separate wings. Frejus old town was suprisingly dead on Sat night. Yet, restaurant terraces where reserved but empty. Frejus-Port is livelier but unappealing holiday complex, dissapointing dinner. Would go to a bigger town next time.

Review 60:Clean rooms, friendly staff, fluent check in and check out: papers always ready waiting for check in/out, no hassle or confusion. For the Cote d'Azur area good value for money even though not exactly cheap when booking two separate rooms for a family of five. Location is practically in the old town centre.

Review 61:The first bedroom we were offered was very small and the en-suite was minute. We moved to a larger room, but it only had roof velux windows, no side windows.

Review 62:Staff, location, style.

Review 63:We had to walk through the hotel dining area to get to the pool.

Review 64:Our room was very spacious and the provencal decor was pleasing. Parking lot around the corner from the hotel was convenient. Staff were very cordial. Hotel has a very nice pool.

Review 65:- distance to the beach (25 min walk) - busses run infrequently - pool area is small and sunbeds are limited and quickly occupied

Review 66:- location to the town center of Frejus. - near the train station - staff is very friendly - breakfast is fantastic - nice ambience

Review 67:Nothing; no really, nothing.

Review 68:2 night stay. Fabulous staff; excellent food in great location. Very nice decor and ideal for town wandering. Budget rooms a tad small but clean, comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Allowed our motorcycles to stay in a bay in front of reception. Efficient laundry facility but costly.

Review 69:a lounge would be nice, bar to be open in the afternoon.

Review 70:the staff, pool, alfresco dining, food & wine, close to shops bars & restraunts, clean rooms

Review 71:Pool closed at 6.30 pm. Many guests wanted to swim, were told theycouldn't after 6. On a sunny June afternoon.Staff didn't want to serve breakfast after 10.00 am on a Saturday. No clean tables. We had to 'steal' dishware from the kitchen at set a table for ourselves!!

Review 72:Nice room. Pool.

Review 73:Our room was a little small but adequate. Also when I booked the hotel, the details said that the room had a street view, but our room lookedout over a roof. The shower is very small with no shower curtain so when you have a shower, the water floods out all over the floor, so maybe a shower curtain would be helpful.

Review 74:Lovely hotel with pool and staff were very friendly. Lovely breakfast, although I think 15 euros is a little expensive.

Review 75:If you are planning to visit the coast.. The hotel is far and there is alot of traffic. Rooms ard basic and there is no water or a fridgeprovided. Breakfast choice is limited for 18 euros.

Review 76:Its a lovely hotel, newly refurbished with a nice stylish decor..Outdoor terrasse for breakfast and a pool. The rooms are spacious and itis located in the center of frejus which is very convenient if you areplanning to stay aroud frejus? The hotel parking gets full fast butthere is a public parking rit in front of it.

Review 77:Unfortunately the pool opens relatively late at 10:00 and closes at 18:30 due to location close to restaurant terrace which is a pity if you wish an early morning or late evening swim

Review 78:Pool was nice after long warm summer's days

Review 79:Breakfast a bit too steep and evening meal out of price range.

Review 80:Central position, beautiful pool and poolside area - exactly as it looked in the photo - and gorgeous room.

Review 81:Access to some rooms is a challenge. We had to climb five flights ofstairs and drag suitcases through the dining terrace and past the poolto get to our room at the top of the building.

Review 82:The room was quite comfortable and the pool was a delight.

Review 83:Beautiful and original decor, comfortable and well appointed accomodation, unrivalled location in Frejus. Friendly and helpful staff at all levels, Hope to return again next year.

Review 84:breakfast terribly expensive at euro14 for a very simple breakfast. an extra cappuccino is euro4.50!! Super 5 star prices for a basic hotel. could hear many clients complaining at these ridiculous prices

Review 85:nothing in particular

Review 86:Hotel Arena far exceeded our expectations, it is in the most stunning location, slightly elevated with magnificent sea views and walks down to two beautiful sandy beaches. The rooms are modern with small terraces and sea views, the staff are friendly and helpful and they have the most amazing spa and swimming pool. Will definitely go here again, but next time for more than just one night.

Review 87:4 nights with a vary variable breakfast service. Off season and with few stayingthe breakfast was inferior to that available when more business travellers were staying, but all at the high price of 14 Euros. No breakfast service until promted on 2 days, and that was not that good.

Review 88:Location, room and ambiance were excellent.

Review 89:Pay for parking. The WiFi log in was a bit of a pain.

Review 90:The restaurant was amazing! The dinner we had was one of the best ever. I recommend the Duck.

Review 91:The pool area wasn't as clean as it could have been

Review 92:The hotel was like a hidden gem in the beautiful old town of Frejus

Review 93:Very pleasant rooms and extremely kind staff.

Review 94:We loved the experience of Hotel Arena and town of Frejus.

Review 95:The hotel was clean and comfortable with superb staff and wonderful food

Review 96:Extras added onto stay, parking, supplements on most of the menu

Review 97:Spacious comfortable room, pool & terrace. Outside dinning.

Review 98:room sizes are very small

Review 99:Restaurant was excellent

Review 100:There was no lift and we had luggage

Review 101:The staff were helpful the hotel was clean and comfortable

Review 102:There was one girl at reception very nice.all other staff very formal and a bit cold

Review 103:I loved the country feel of the hotel

Review 104:No Fridge in room.

Review 105:Situation Atmosphere Friendly Relaxed

Review 106:Staff were very welcoming. The hotel is situated in a good location. Quiet and pleasant stay. Would return again if have the opportunity.

Review 107:Beautiful comfortable hotel with great food in a fascinating town. Excellant very friendly & helpful staff.

Review 108:Parking is far, room is small.

Review 109:Food in the restaurant, friendly personnel.

Review 110:We were unable to dine in restaurant as they were booked out. On Monday night other good restaurants in town are closed.

Review 111:Great room. Very good value. Nice restaurant as well.

Review 112:Very cozy provencal Hotel in the middle of the old Frejus. Very good restaurant and possible to park secure with car.

Review 113:If the hotel wouldn't have a swimming pool, it would defitnitely have only two stars. Internet didn't work well

Review 114:friendly staff

Review 115:The staff were friendly and helpfull. The rooms were well appointed and the gourmet food was first class.

Review 116:Everything - could not fault it as the staff very helpful and delightful decor with an excellent location with excellent facilities.

Review 122:The breakfast was rather expensive

Review 123:The location was perfect for the railoway station Restaurant meal was very good. Staff extrememly helpful.
