Reviews for Inter-Hôtel Le Cantepau

Review 1:Lots of construction work going on. Difficult to get cases in from the car to the room.

Review 2:Convenient location. Good Breakfast. Pleasant staff, good sized comfortable room. Good mattress on bed- for a change as most mattresses in hotels are hard and uncomfortable.

Review 3:Very difficult to find - look for the Post Office. More likely to get parked in the PO car park than actually at the hotel.

Review 4:Stylish interior belies rather grim outside. Nice big bathroom. Comfortable bed. Excellent breakfast (for which you pay extra).

Review 5:We had a 'Comfort' room - supposedly better than the 'Standard' rooms, but it had a flimsy folding door on the bathroom. The bathroom was generally clean but there were traces of black mould in the shower. We felt the hotel needed refurbishing, it felt a bit tired.

Review 6:Easy walking distance of old city. Free convenient parking.

Review 7:All was fine.

Review 8:Walking distance from central Albi; excellent restaurant La Table du Sommelier a few minutes' walk away; very comfortable bed and pleasant room; super breakfast

Review 9:Location of hotel within walking distance of historical sites in Albi. On-site parking. Close to good restaurant La table du Sommelier, part of hotel?

Review 10:Reception not 24h. A little far from town. Ceiling fan but NO AIRCON (strange in 3* hotel, approaching 40º outside, fair warning given in the pre-arrival email with time to cancel free!).

Review 11:Useful welcome email and own follow up survey. Black-out shutters. Excellent buffet breakfast (not included). Friendly and helpful staff. Good partner restaurant (Le Sommelier, nouvelle cuisine, good wine cellar, 2 mins' walk). Post office next door.

Review 12:Parking limited and tight, although there is a public car park next door. Bathroom small, hard to sit on loo for a taller person.

Review 13:Easy walking to distance to town centre. Easy to find, just off main road. Fine for an overnight stop. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 14:The night we stayed was very warm and being on the top floor made the room a little uncomfortable with no air conditioning. Opening the window was not an option due to the multitude of insects attracted to the hotel illuminated sign just below our window.

Review 15:Location is easily accessible by car and has on-site parking. An easy and pleasant walk to the city centre. Clean, comfortable accommodation and good value for money.

Review 16:Just a bit too far to walk to the old town and uphill. Recommend the velo transport though!

Review 17:Very helpful reception. Quiet backstreet. Parking and wifi.

Review 18:A super hotel with wonderfully welcoming and friendly staff, beautifully clean throughout with a comfortable good sized room. A good breakfast and an easy stroll into the centre of Albi. Parking may become limited if arriving late, but there is a public car-park close by. But definitely recommended if visiting Albi.

Review 19:Friendly staff, comfortable bed, spacious room – great little hotel. Easy parking at rear. Withing short walking distance of the dramatic River Tarn and the old town of Albi.

Review 20:Did not like sliding door to bathroom, which was noisy to use and had a broken door fitment.

Review 21:Welocme from staff, free parking, comfortable bed and room. Good breakfast . Proximity to old town centre.

Review 22:We would love the facility to be able to make a hot drink in our bedroom....but I think this is an English expectation rather than a French one!

Review 23:The friendly staff. Clean and comfortable bedrooms. Value for money. Easy parking.

Review 24:Everything was good.

Review 25:Our stay at the Inter-Hotel Le Chantepau in Albi was wonderful. The hotel staff were very friendly and the location of the hotel was excellent for walking over the Tarn river to the older part of the city with the beautiful cathedral and the palace. The price of the room was very reasonable. Albi is one of our favorite cities in France.

Review 26:Mattress was a little too firm for me.

Review 27:Excellent location, a 10 minute walk to Ste. Cecile and the old town. Helpful staff and a nice breakfast included in the price.

Review 28:My only negative comment : the shower space is really too small and restrictive. I have been to many hotels with small showers but this one was the most inconvenient though I am a petite type person.

Review 29:Location is great: a short walk across the old bridge to the Albi center is quite enjoyable. Hotel parking was totally full when we arrived around 7pm. Street parking by the hotel entrance was quite convenient, safe and free. Mattresses and pillows: a big plus.

Review 30:Very small standard rooms with almost unusable tiny shower in a tiny bathroom. Private hotel parking very limited to small back area and side alley. Breakfast rather ordinary and expensive for 9 Euros a person. Strongly recommend an upgrade to 25% bigger "comfort" rooms with normal size bathroom and tub/shower combination for very small price difference.

Review 31:Location with only 10 min. walk to the old city area. Couple of very good restaurants nearby.

Review 32:Found the room too hot during the night and therefore did not sleep well

Review 33:Cleanliness and very helpful staff. We had a comfort room which was quite large with all facilities. Wi fi was very good. Breakfast plentiful and varied.

Review 34:Out room was unbearably hot. There was a ceiling fan, but to no avail. We had to open the window, but then couldn't sleep well because of the occasional traffic. As with most hotels one finds only a duvet on the bed! No flat sheet! Decor, especially the corridors very boring, outdated colours!

Review 35:The hotel was clean and breakfast good and fresh. Staff very welcoming. Free parking and Wi-fi. Easy access to centre.

Review 36:Rather limited parking faciliities. Better directions required because of the one way system.

Review 37:September 2014 A small but adequate room for an overnight stop and good value for money considering its location. Extremely well situated for visiting the old city without the car. (less than 10 minutes) and well worth the walk there in the late afternoon and to see it illuminated in the evening. A quiet setting even though so close to the centre. Quick and easy to access good links into Toulouse or, if like us, you wanted to get around the outskirts and across to Auch and the Pyrenees.

Review 38:All was fine

Review 39:The location was excellent just a few mins walk to the historic centre and in a quite location. The staff were really freindly and spoke good English

Review 40:The only down side is the erratic wifi and the rather overpriced breakfast.

Review 41:Friendly staff and adequate facilities well positioned for exploring the old town of Albi.

Review 42:Slightly uncomfortable that staff disappeared and shutters closed off front of hotel at 9pm - access then via coded entrance at rear of hotel.

Review 43:Good location both for overnight stop and visit to Albi, especially cathedral. Parking tight but on site. Breakfast plentiful and varied. Room quiet and perfectly adequate. Excellent evening meal at Le Napoli pizzeria nearby.

Review 44:walking distance to center and important sites

Review 45:Very tired bed. Room in need of refurbishing. Poor service at checkout

Review 46:Location. Room size.

Review 47:Great location for exploring the town. Friendly, professional staff.

Review 48:The bathroom was very small and reminded us of the cabin on a boat

Review 49:noisy clientele soundproofing poor

Review 50:Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast

Review 51:Duvet too hot for summer weather - simple sheet would have been adequate.

Review 52:Easy walking distance from places of interest. Good sized room and bathroom.

Review 53:Bathroom...

Review 54:Secured parking

Review 55:A bit away fom the center of the city

Review 56:Quiet district. Parking in front in the garden Friendly hiost.

Review 57:The ease of checking in, parking, local information and comfort.

Review 58:no climatisation

Review 59:Nothing

Review 60:Comfort amenities great location for sight seeing good wholesome breakfast also had a lift as we were on third floor.

Review 61:Bathroom and breakfast were not up to a 3 star standard

Review 62:No comment

Review 63:Very uncomfortable pillows

Review 64:Walk across the bridge for great view of town and in town in under ten minutes. Free parking.

Review 65:Location Poor state of room Poor electrics No staff after 20.00 houirs No garden No Bar

Review 66:Bed was comfortable

Review 67:Had a bum indentation in the bed so had to move over.

Review 68:Quiet location and great price

Review 69:Bad door to toilett.

Review 70:Everything was good, parking, view, location, breakfast. areally happy stay.

Review 71:Quiet area but not far to walk to centre of Albi. Friendly staff. Silky duvet cover!

Review 72:Bathroom a bit small

Review 73:Friendly staff Good breakfast

Review 74:No air conditioning A little tired Average breakfast for the price

Review 75:Very friendly owner Free parking Good location to old centre

Review 76:The loo faced a wall with little leg room and my husband is very tall so didn't find that terribly comfortable!

Review 77:We loved being within walking distance of the centre (10 mins) and especially close to the Table du Sommeliers restaurant which we absolutely loved. Breakfast was a lovely continental buffet and great value. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a budget hotel for a city visit.

Review 78:The parking spaces are not enough though it is free.

Review 79:It takes 10 minutes to walk to the center of the city. The excellent restaurant is close to the hotel.

Review 80:A central hotel about 10mins walk to sights of Albi. Free parking and easy to find. Good restaurants nearby. Well equipped foyer with PC and ipad. We had a large comfort room which overlooked the garden. Breakfast was superb, nearly everything you could imagine. A great place to stay to visit Albi and the beau villages around the area.

Review 81:It was not clear until after I had booked that you had to pay extra for breakfast. The advert implied that breakfast was included. Not good.

Review 82:Comfortable room, decent breakfast.

Review 83:Being charged an 5 euros more than had been agreed for each of our tworoomsfor the first night of our stay. Is this a charge for bookingthrough Booking.com?

Review 84:Brilliant location Excellent breakfasts

Review 85:As we were travelling with a car, it was perfect. The hotel had parking, and it was only a short and beautiful walk across the bridge into the old town. Very comfortable rooms.

Review 86:The shower was tiny, shower curtain instead of a door that sticks to the body. Washing was impossible. The door to the bathroom foldable, almost did not close. Such unseemly for a hotel with 3 stars.

Review 87:Could have been cleaner. Would have preferred air conditioning instead of ceiling fan.

Review 88:Very friendly staff. Good breakfast. Quiet location. Short walk to main tourist sites. Free parking.

Review 89:First of all I would like to thank one of the owners, Rene (sp?), for his hospitality and efficiency. What was wonderful: hotel's location (on the one hand just 10 min away by foot from the major sightseeing points; on the other hand very quite area; 3 min away from 3 restaurants for various budget needs), food (very diverse breakfast), easy to find thanks to signs put up along the street, clean rooms, fast WiFi, a lot of parking space

Review 90:Nothing.

Review 91:Excellent location to walk into the centre of Albi on the other side of the bridge, to visit the cathedral and Toulouse Latrec museum. The location is quiet and the hotel is light, bright, modern and clean - don't be put off by the exterior which looks a bit drab and nondescript.

Review 92:quiet, clean, comfortable, ceiling fan was great even though it was hot the fan was quite adequate, free parking, very easy walk into wonderful Albi, little supermarket nearby.

Review 93:Hot hot hot! No air conditioning and only a ceiling fan, with a west facing wall we had a very hot night. Maybe some other rooms are cooler, so it would be best to check.

Review 94:Good value for money. Reasonable size room, good bathroom. Within easy walking distance from the old city (which has a magnificent cathedral), without being in the centre with the associated parking problems. The hotel is very close ( 5 min walk) to an excellent restaurant that the hotel recommended. The meal was outstanding (the four seasons restaurant).

Review 95:Tiny little bathroom. Ceiling fan was of little use in very hot weather (over 30Deg!!)

Review 96:Hotel in fantastic location, easy short walk to city centre, Albi is a wonderful place to visit. Staff were very helpful and gave good advice on local eating places as well as main visitor places of interest. Very good breakfast for a french hotel.

Review 97:Great Hotel owned by a young couple in an excellent location, parking is not always available but you can park on the street and it's really not a problem, we preferred to reach the city center by car and there was no parking problem. Those coming to the city of Albi to see the Toulouse-Lautrec Museum, the beautiful city and the stunning Cathedral, this hotel is really recommended.

Review 98:The shower cubical was so small and tight, one had to breath in to open and shut the folding & sliding door.

Review 99:It's location within walking distance of the historic town of Albi and the station. There is a great bakers around the corner where I purchased my packed lunch before setting off exploring the many sights and museum's. Visit the tourist office next to the Cathedral for a full list of activities and to buy an Albi card with discount's to museum's including the Musee Toulouse Lautrec. I would go back to this hotel as it was so charming off the main road.

Review 100:Our greeting was "In France we speak French"(said in perfect English) I do not speak French and said this. The reply again in English was " So I Will only speak to your wife" If I said anything in English there was no reply. This was only one of the reception staff.

Review 101:100 yards away is one of the best restaurant we have ever visited. " Le Restaurant des Sommeliers"

Review 102:On our arrival the receptionist was very rude. We had to wait 20 minutes in front of him to wait for check in and he was totally irrespectful. I complained about it and they don t seems to care. The showers are so small and narrow that when you shampoo your hair you can not open your arms.

Review 103:The place is clean.

Review 104:A tiny bit old but friendly staff, and very good spot to visit Albi, excellent location.

Review 105:Good location, and very central to visit the old city. Very French. We liked it.

Review 106:The hotel is right across the river from down town a five minute walk to all the sites. Rooms were clean and cozy, adequate. The bar fridge is priced reasonably. The staff is friendly and there is parking !

Review 107:Bedside light, switch on wall so far away! Two beds were as double not twin!

Review 108:Convenience, weekend-price, friendly and helpful - particularly breakfast staff. Very pleasant hotel.

Review 109:Not being able to get a hot drink. The folding bathroom door notshutting properly and noisy. The main part of the hotel closed at 9pmand you had to enter the hotel through the back door.

Review 110:On arrival at hotel, although the gentleman on reception could notspeak english, they were very friendly. Private car parking and near tocity centre.

Review 111:Just what one expects in an old French hotel down to the furniture too. Welcome was excellent because of the friendliness of the guy. Breakfast was the best we have had so far enroute.

Review 112:Excellent hotel, clean, excellent breakfast, free internet accessvery friendly staff, excellent parking facilities, no need to take your car into town as the hotel is situated within easy walking distance. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and if visiting the town again, would definately stay there again.

Review 113:There is no garden or terrace for you to relax after a day's sightseeing.

Review 114:The hotel is a short, pleasant walk away from the historic centre of Albi. The staff were friendly and helpful and were able to suggest a nearby restaurant where we had an excellent evening meal. The large bed was very comfortable and the ceiling fan cooled the room well - we preferred this to the icy blast from the air conditioning you get at some hotels. There was a good choice at the buffet breakfast and lovely fresh croissants.

Review 115:The outside appearance of the hotel when we arrived was very drab anddisappointing. The garden view description of the room was a bitmisleading. Yes there was a view of an unkempt garden but it was beyondthe side driveway and over a high wall and appeared to have nothing todo with the hotel!!

Review 116:Friendly staff.

Review 117:I made a mistake with my booking and had only booked for 1 personinstead of 2. The hotel were fantastic and the single room (Queensized bed) was more than adequate for the one night that we needed alittle way out of town but were recomended a superb restaurant 5minutes walk away

Review 118:To have the toilet room big enough you must choose 'comfort' room.

Review 119:I have enjoyed my stay in Le Cantepau. The staff of the hotel in very nice, friendly and ready to help in solving any problem. There is lift for not to carry laggage by staircase. Location is also very good - quiet but close to the city center.

Review 120:Bed could have been better and should have perhaps been replacedsome time ago!

Review 121:Good location near the river and a nice walk into town of about 1 km.Staff were very good with help and advice.

Review 122:Very difficult to find!

Review 123:Although no restaurant on site,, they recommended a really excellent onein easy walking distance even for a not very mobile elderly couple.

Review 124:Disappointing hotel. Website suggests restaurant, hotel room givesdetails of restaurant, menu in lift suggests restaurant, but there is norestaurant, local restaurant recommended, but this was closed on theSunday evening and Monday evening we stayed. 20Min walk into town inrain spoilt hotel. Also arriving at 3pm and not being able to get intohotel until 5.30 a bit of a shock. Again the walk into town after longdrive, not nice. Both technically our fault for not spotting smallprint, but I would not return to this hotel!
